Upgraded rooms add kitchenettes, and family rooms are available. There's a free shuttle service to the casino. Amenities include a garden with a BBQ grill and a table tennis table, plus a fish freezer and a fish-cleaning station.
Stayed here because a friend travelling with us had a dog. This was the only pet-friendly motel available. On a busy street. The rooms are small (15 x 15and dark. Not especially clean. No carpet - our room had a greasy coating on the floor that left a black film on our shoe soles. You could see our footprints on the floor. I would only stay here as a last resort. They should not charge over $100/night, but they do.
Great for the price. Room was a bit small, but clean and very comfortable. Very nice staff. Late check in handled perfectly. Thank you! Parking lot seemed a little dark, but I can barely see during the day. 😁
On the spot the accommodation has turned out as an apartment that was located a little further away from the actual motel. Nevertheless, the apartment was quite sufficient for the price. When we came back to the apartment after dinner in Bishop, we noticed that two suitcases were missing. Above all, we were puzzled why only our two smaller suitcases had been stolen, but not the third suitcase that had been standing right next to the two stolen suitcases, as well as the two large suitcases that had been standing in the next room. Nothing in the apartment looked suspicious, as everything still looked the same like when we had left the accommodation. Since we were driving a very nice BMW rental car, we suspected that someone must have been watching us and thought we had a lot of money. Unfortunately, you could also see our room number on our parking lot, which must have made it very easy for the thieves to find our room. However, since there were no signs of burglary on the windows or the front door, we can only assume that it was people who worked at the motel and had the key to all the doors or the burglars could break in pretty easily with a credit card or something similar. Unfortunately, there were only cameras around the property that did not work, so the police could not do anything for us. Of course, we didnt want to sleep in our apartment anymore, because we were afraid of being robbed again. And it seemed to us that the wife of the owner could not quite understand this, because she thought that there were no more rooms available. Nevertheless, she was able to offer us a room with three queen beds at short notice, because she thought we needed four queen beds, although the reservation said that we were five people. That was a bit strange. However, we were just glad to be accommodated in another room. Nevertheless, our suitcases are now gone, which unfortunately made our stay there and the rest of our trip in California not as enjoyable as it should have been. Therefore, we wanted to at least make other people aware here that we got robbed and it could happen to other people as well. Even though the owners said that their apartments had never been broken into before. We would’ve also wished the owners had anticipated more towards us and at least given us a discount on our accommodation as it was their accommodation that was broken into.
Very nice place, and see Jason for all you need.
The room was nice and clean, the staff was very prompt and professional. After my stay, I had forgotten my fishing poles, and Jason was nice enough to mail them back to me at no cost. I recommend the Trees motel in Bishop ca. Thanks Again Jason. Roger
Service is awesome an rooms very clean fantastic personnel highly recommend this hotel
It was heavily lemon scented. Needs an update badly. Didnt feel it was worth the money. Supply & demand!
Staff was friendly and helpful. Checking in went fast and smooth. AC worked great in our room! We stayed in the "Family Room". There was a little hot plate, tv/ cable, microwave, cooking utensils, coffee pot, microwave and mini fridge. There is one large living area with 2 full sized beds. 1 separate bedroom with a full bed and mini fridge along with an upholstered chair. The bathroom is small but functions well. There is a hair dryer too. The shower head has 3 settings which I found very nice because I dont like it super powerful. The beds werent very comfy. One bed would sway a lot with every little move you did while laying on the bed. It wasnt horrible. There is an ice machine on the premises by the office. Ping pong table, grass area, fire pit, tables/ chairs, bbq out front. My family loved it. Also around the back there is a fish cleaning station. That came in handy as we are avid fishermen. The motel felt very cozy like a little camping cabin. We enjoyed our stay.
Great location, strong AC was much appreciated in the summer heat. But this place could use a little love. Beds have foam toppers on them now (I noticed old reviews mentioning hard bedsbut the pillows were terrible, thankfully we had some of our own with us from our road trip. This motel has so much potential and a beautiful location. I would love to see them invest in new mattresses (not just toppers), new pillows and a couple updated games for the outdoor area. maybe uniform t shirts for their staff and a couple more smiles? This place could reach its full potential. Hope to see you guys grow and evolve in the future. Best wishes!
The hotel is obviously very old and dated, but the room was clean and comfortable. The man at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth the low price point.
The location is on beautiful Bishop but this is a slum type hotel.Ive stayed at high end places and very low budget, this place falls in at a 4 out of 10.Dont look above arms reach of cleaners as it is filthy.Overall if you need a place to stay and are not super picky it will do.I would stay at the creekside Inn instead.
Awesome room great grassy area to walk barefoot at the same time using the grill for burgers and playing some ping pong
Stayed in what they described as bungalow #212 next door to their "El Rancho Motel" property for $200 a night. The managerial staff was very kind and accommodating, so we were extremely saddened upon being faced with the poor and unacceptable accommodations in the actual room.Upon arrival, my husband went to sit on the bed in one of the rooms, and fell through to the floor due to their mattresses being propped up by thin metal slats instead of box springs. (My husband weighs under 200 pounds). He removed the mattress, and found that slats were bent, including some missing from the frame which caused the issue. We also discovered the bottom of our feet were black after an hour of walking barefoot on the floors. And when we crawled into the beds to go to sleep, we could feel dirt on the sheets which made us wonder if they had been washed, or if the floors were just so dirty, it was being carried into the bed.We did not want to upset anyone, and so we reluctantly forced ourselves to ignore the issues, and fall asleep. One of our children slept on a bed they had in the living room, and in the morning she showed us the inside of her comforter that was dirty with both dirt and some blue liquid stains. We were mortified that we had not checked her linens and that she was subjected to such filth. We immediately went to the office to get new linens for all of the beds, but they had a sign that they were closed until 10:00am. This was the last straw for us. We packed up our items and went into town to kill time until we could return to submit our keys to a desk clerk that didnt seem to really care about our frustrations and the dirty blanket I brought her as proof. We paid $430 and could only bare to stay one night so it was a terrible experience for us. We understand good help is often hard to find, and hope that they can resolve these issues with their cleaning/maintenance staff so that all of their future guests can have a better experience than we did.
Its better than a tent. The bed was like a rock. Thin walls. Tiny bathroom and shower. Staff was friendly.
Great budget spot. Clean and comfy. Stayed a night on our way out backpacking in the mountains.
I overall enjoyed my stay! Very clean and cute room set up. Bed was a little firm for me but still was very pleased with my stay.
The Trees Motel was a happy surprise. It may be an older establishment but it is clean and quiet. The room did not have a musty smell like some older motel. The water pressure was fantastic. Plenty of hot water. The bed was on the firm side but provided a great night sleep.
If you love rustic this has your name on it. It was clean the management took care of our problems quickly. (Ants n extra towels)
Checked in Sat. Night @8:30 , beds were made, but no soap.,Wash cloths and the coffee was used and left dirty .. Never will I will be back. Minus 1 star
We have stayed at the rooms on high street before but was disappointed this time. Rooms were clean but the kitchens have hardly anything you need anymore. For a place that will sleep 8 we had one spoon, two forks and no big pots. The kitchen a few years ago had everything you would need, not anymore. Only a few glasses and a small frying pan that the handle was falling off, not good for cooking bacon. Walls have patches which need to be painted. I paid a lot thinking the rooms were like before but it has gone down. When you stay down stairs be prepared for a very noisy night, you hear everything haha
Thank you! Thank you! In these Covid times it was a wonderful place to stay with my children, grandchildren and parents to renew our vows in a cute “backyard wedding “. We rented all 4 rooms with courtyard and BBQ.It was clean, comfortable and fairly easy for my parents with walkers to get around. Easy access to fishing and walking distance to town. Wonderful stay!
We are traveling with our dog, so first off Trees Motel is dog friendly. We are also traveling without advance reservations because we prefer to be free to move on our stay. Jason who administers the office was most helpful. If there wasnt a cancelation he had found us another room elsewhere. Fortunately there was a cancelation by the time we got there. The rooms are very clean, basic, and contain what is needed. It was very quiet. There is a lovely lawn area with outside seating. All in all, we had a very good stay, mainly thanks to Jason who goes beyond the call of duty.
Customer service was excellent and friendly. Rooms were homey and very clean. The atmosphere was welcoming. Please stay there and support them- they were a blessing to us in a stressful time!
Small but nice. We stayed in 109. The shower head could use a better one. But the room was clean and has the vinyl plank flooring. I love that as it is cleaner than carpet. Didnt take any pictures as we were just driving through and needed a place to lay our head for the night.
Wifi works great. Location is also great. They let us use extra towels. It was pretty dusty. Couldnt walk around without socks. Ceiling fan had dust bunnies on blades. 2 out of 3 beds made horrible noise and 1 one them was pretty much falling apart. Some of the power outlets are very hard to get to. We had to move a bed and a bench.
Family owned and operated. Theyre awesome. When we got to the motel, for some reason my fraud alert went off at check in and it was late after a long drive so I couldnt call the bank til morning. That being said, they allowed us to go to our room and pay them the next day. I didnt even ask that of them they offered it to me. So grateful. Most places would have turned us away and we would have been screwed. Thanks again guys! Youre wonderful people. I got a 2 room 3 full bed room for less than 100 a night. Nice inside as well. Will be coming back next trip to bishop!
Nice staff. Little grassy area with shade trees and BBQ for the fish and steaks. Room was with a kitchenette w/ no stove. We brought the camp stove and cooked outside. Not a luxurious motel but comfortable.
Wonderful place to stay, Staff is extremely friendly & attentive to guests. We booked a suite at the renovated location, the place was very well taken care of & very clean. We will DEFINITELY be coming back!
We stayed at Trees Motel on 2/3/20. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had our dog with us and that was a big reason we chose this motel at first. Its super dog friendly and very affordable to bring your dog here. The staff was friendly too. We will definitely stay here again!
Arrived at this hotel with high expectations on 12/29/19. Upon arrival, room was not ready at check in time. Came back 45 minutes later and was checked in to room next to front office. Was charged over $300 even though reservation was for ~$250. After 2 hours of incredibly loud noise by the hotel staff, blatant drug use and dealing next door, to the point of causing concern for safety, we had to leave the hotel. The staff was loud and abusive. Was not offered any refund even though we didnt stay even 1 night. Owner was rude and would not offer remedy. Had to find last minute accommodations elsewhere. Still havent received response or refund. Filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for fraud and failure to deliver services on 12/31.Stay very far away! This place may have been nice once upon a time, but the owners have turned it into a fleabag slum and will try to take you for every penny they can! Will update this review if hotel provides remedy.
Our stay was during Labor Day weekend. I would love to be able to say it was a nice stay because the people were very nice in the office and the place is quaint and quiet. However, our issue is the rate did not correlate with the accommodations at all. I literally left a list of problems with the room which the person very nicely wrote down each detail. Any of the issues on their own would have been fine to deal with however accumulated along with the $150/night was just outrageous. We were exhausted after 2 nights. The small bugs (tiny harmless bugs mostly in the bathroomin the room prompted us to put our bread and snacks in the microwave (sitting on top of the refrigeratorto keep bugs at bay. In the morning the items were literally hot from the small refrigerator running constantly from a bad seal. That noise battled it out with a terribly loud air conditioner that maybe just needed a thorough cleaning to work properly. A plug didnt work and another I forgot to tell them about had issues and was not usable. The water pressure in the shower was so bad I didnt think I was ever going to get my hair rinsed out. Even my husband had trouble with his short thin hair. Supposedly a handyman was going unit to unit to fix things. I hope they have by now. I get that the prices are inflated on the holidays but $338.72 for 2 nights with these conditions is just unacceptable. No follow-up to my comments either. I can also honestly say that I was not rude as I was exhausted and sad enough that when I checked out she asked me what was wrong with sincere concern before I spilled my issues before I left. Like I said, nice ladies there but it just makes me sick that I spent that much on that experience, which is why it has taken me this long to leave a review. Hopefully issues are resolved because it could be a nice quaint stay.
We really enjoyed this small motel. The check-in person, Julia, was super helpful and assisted us in numerous ways during our stay and really made our time there pleasant. The front had a nice grassy area under a large tree where one could play badminton, ping-pong, grill items on a small barbecue, or just sit outside and enjoy the day. While not fancy, the rooms were comfortable and had the small amenities that make a stay pleasant. The A/C is quiet and the door covering the A/C control buttons can be closed so the lights dont blare in your face as you try to sleep. A little detail, but it helped me sleep better. The price was good and much less than the chain hotels. Bishop, while still a small town, has a lot of large trucks rattling through the main strip and this motel is much more pleasant by being located about 3/4 mile off 395, which makes the motel a great choice for a peaceful stay.
This was a budget stay, and that is exactly what we got. We were looking for a more local atmosphere, something like the original travelers on highway 395 would have. It was comfortable, budget friendly, no frills type of hotel.
awesome hotel for a great price. kitchenette comes complete with real plates and bowls. the rooms are recently updated and the hotel is very quite. by far the best hotel option in Bishop especially since the chain hotels in town are very outdated and run down.
The hotel staff is very professional and courteous. External online booking errors are resolved very quickly by the staff and the rooms are very well maintained. The site includes a grassed BBQ area. Smoking areas are close by. The rooms are no smoking rooms. The proximity of the motel within south Bishop means that the majority of fast food restaurants and local renowned eateries are within a few minutes leisurely walk. A local gas station with available beer and a local pharmacy are within less than 500 ft of the location.
Exactly what tooit get for a motel and price. Lovely staff. Extremely noisy outside and the towels had stains. The sheets and bed sheets were clean but had holes in them. Really odd that they didnt replace them. Perfect for a quick stop. I would bring my own pillows and sheets personally but as I mentioned they were clean.
Trees Motel was perfect for the price. And honestly I found it to be better quality than the chains. Cozy room, tv, WiFi, mini fridge and AC. Only two complaints were the doors a loud closing and the rooms are in close proximity to each other. And secondly the shower pressure was a little on the light side. Otherwise, great place. Would stay there again.
For what we spent, the Trees Motel was perfectly fine. Room was clean enough, staff was very friendly, its not far from the main drag in Bishop. It seems to be a good spot for fishermen on trips (a fish cleaning station is on site). However, the walls in our room were very thin (we could hear conversation from the next room overand the room is small. Its a perfectly fine place to sleep if youre passing through on a road trip or looking to do some fishing, but if youre looking to spend time in your room you may want to find somewhere larger or with more amenities.
Not going to lie I was really scared pulling up to this place but the whole town was booked and it was my last resort. It has a 3.something rating online which doesnt give it a good first impression or allure but beggars cant be choosers so I went with it. I was greeted warmly by Michael (I think thats his nameat the front desk and made checking in quick and pleasant. I was expecting Norman Bates to be hiding in the shower or somewhere upon entering but as I entered I was relieved and surprised at the clean and comfortable room and bathroom. I was only passing through to begin with to Yosemite so I wasnt expecting a presidential suite but I would 100% recommend and stay there again. I am completely happy and satisfied with my stay. Ignore all the bored haters on the internet they probably were disgruntled about the place not having cable or a continental breakfast while typing a bad review with cheeto crusted fingers. This place deserves a five star rating. Thanks Trees Motel for the pleasant stay! I will be back.
We love Bishop California and we love the Trees Motel. Friendly staff and good rates. It aint the Ritz but its clean and quiet. Beautiful outdoor sitting and BBQing area, and clean, comfortable, cleverly decorated rooms.
Great staff who got us into our room quickly. We had a one bedroom room suite with 2 queen beds in the main room and another in another bedroom ($139). No door to separate the other bedroom from the main room. It did have a microwave and tiny frig/freezer. The bathroom door would not close completely and the bathroom window would not stay open and did not have a screen. Comfortable beds, desk, WiFi (open), ice, AC, heater.
Quaint place. It was updated and clean. Off the main drag and quiet. The pricing was inconsistent. Best to schedule in advance as Bishop is a small town and fills up fast during the summer season. Overall we really liked it and would stay there again.
The management was very nice, but the stay wasnt so great. You can tell theyre trying to make it better, but its not there yet. Our beds were rock hard and on our second night, the AC stopped working all together. The main office was already closed, so we talked to the management in the morning and they told us they havent changed the AC units yet. We also mentioned to them that we didnt have any maid service come to our room. Management told us its because theyre short staffed. I feel like maybe offering us a discount or a free nights stay for a date in the future would have redeemed them and gone a long way to ensure we left happy, instead we got very polite excuses. Their courtyard was cute! We wont be staying there again though.
A very cute older motel. The rooms were quant and clean. The only negative is that Id called months before to reserve and was given a different price at that time than what I was charged when I showed up. Id book online to confirm pricing! They were still the cheapest in town though.
Love this place. They are so friendly and helpful. Been staying here for 5 years now and will stay again next year. Chris and her husband Pete are the best.. it is so convenient and close to everything. Thank you for such awesome memories!
I have been coming to Bishop for fishing trips for years now and staying at the trees has become one more experience I always look forward to! You can always count on them for a very clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower, friendly/helpful staff, and best prices. They have a fish cleaning station in the back and a freezer to keep your catches in. The front has a nice grass area/patio with tables, chairs, and a BBQ grill, and sometimes you can find fellow anglers hanging out there at night and talk to them about where the fish were biting. I highly recommend this motel and cant wait to stay again!
Unexpectedly had to travel to Bishop, I needed a room close to the hospital and saw The Trees motel as an option. I called the front desk and spoke with Kris, the manager, she was very quick to find me room and point me in the direction of something to eat. When I arrived at the motel she quickly got me checked into a charming little room. Very clean and functional with some little touches of whimsy. Bed was pretty comfortable and the bathroom has been recently updated. Then only thing I could recommend for the next room upgrade would be to put in double paned windows for sound insulation. I would definitely recommend this place for an inexpensive clean comfortable and charming stay! Especially the manager Kris!
I have stayed at other cheap motels in California, this was the only one with actual functioning and usable free WiFi. The ac was slow and noisy, so get there early and leave it on. Clean rooms, nice beds but the shower is made for midgets. Good value for the money spent
What a neat place! Clean rooms, nice staff, simple accommodations. Its tiny and cozy and has a sort of retro feel, like the motor inns from the 50s and 60s. Theres a fish cleaning area and a BBQ/picnic area. We loved our stay.
Wonderful management & nice people. Drive right up, unload car into cozy warm room. Not fancy, but for the amazing price its worth every penny and more. I would definitely stay here again.....and Ive stayed in 4 & 5 star hotels in many parts of the USA.
