Tredici - Restaurant in Swellendam, South Africa
Lovely place for a coffee break. Excellent food and the cheese cake was sooooo nice! Bought some goodies for home too.
We stopped here as a rest stop on our road trip. Was a great vibe, good food, great view and very friendly staff. You wont go wrong stopping here even if its just for a coffee or to browse the shop.
Very nice and the food is always amazing. Usually busy so not the quickest service but luckily the view is fantastic. There is a little kiddies spot and highchairs aswell.
Service with a smile, great coffee.Soup menu in winter an excellent idea.Best stopover between George and Cape Town!
Food was sooo good!Ricotta and spinach ravioli are delicious!Sandwiches are tasty and full of flavor.Risotto is really good.Ingredients are high quality.Definitely to try if youre in the area!!!
"hamburger" served on toast bread, not good!! wraps are good. waiter said need to read fine print on burger with attitude, good luck!
Amazing atmosphere and aesthetic. Great service and the food was amazing for a reasonable price as well. Im definitely going to become a regular!
Superb ~ interesting shop with unique products. Friendliness of staff & freshly baked pastries were a jummy & bonus. We will be back
Great breakfast menu. We had Belgian waffle with pistachios and marscopone. Good inhouse coffee blend too
We have visited Tredici on a few occasions and have always enjoyed it.The family visited for a big group breakfast over Easter again.Things that stood out: The friendly staff, the ambience.Menu best pick: The Belgium waffles- amazingMenu less ideal choice: The omelet (the egg tasted like powder egg)The price: A little steep for Swellendam, but comparable to general Cape Town breakfast prices.Verdict: We will probably visit again, if not only for those waffles!
Perfect place to stop for a coffee and something to eat when travelling on the N2 past Swellendam. Good food, friendly service and beautiful views of Swellendam and the Langeberg mountains. (But do yourself a favour and also drive through Swellendam and don’t just stay on the highway…)
A great restaurant tons of odds and ends for sale, friendly staff, the Banting breakfast is superb
Beautiful building, stunning bathroom with gorgeous hand wash and hand cream. The home decor and kitchen treats and sauces and spices for sale are beautiful and great gift ideas. And the best part, the finest wines are up for sale, and served at the restaurant at cellar prices!! Nothing better than having a good bottle of wine on the outside sitting area with lovely mountain views while snacking on their tasty goodies coming from the kitchen.
Tredici is incredible noticeable even if youre just driving by. It has a lovely architecture and scenery. The gardens around it are well kept and look a bit of out place compared to the rest of swellendam. The service was friendly, food was tasty if a bit pricier than I think it might be worth.Id suggest sitting on the ground floor, as the first floor tends to get a bit slower service especially if they are busy. They also have a small selection of gadgets and food items to buy. The chocolate croissants were specifically a fantastic treat.
We had the pork neck burger. Although pricey, the portion size is very large with the chips and onion rings. The onion rings were delicious. The pork neck itself was a bit chewy and overcooked. And the breads crust was too crunchy to easily cut through or eat as a burger.
Excellent food with great quality ingredients. Burgers portions could be slightly reduced in my opinion. 😅 Pastel de nata a bit disappointing as it wasnt crunchy and the cream felt like they put flour inside to give consistency. Carrot cake was delicious! Kind staff, good service, nice views from outdoor tables.
Love the take away coffee stand outside! Beautiful place!
Food is excellent, service is slow but still pleasant
Perfect Spot. Marvelous Pastries Fresh Clean. Great coffee. Refreshing
Tredici is one of our favourite on-route places to stop between George and Cape Town with a breathtaking view over the scenic Swellendam with its lush green treetops. Their menu offers such a wide range of exquisite tastes and food combinations that it can be hard to choose.Coffee lovers will have their tastebuds tantalized! The gift shop is as unique. If youre a foodie you will fall in love!Even the bathrooms are tastefuly decorated and sparkling clean.
Tredici or 13...a Bakers dozen.I love the food here, well-presented and prepared. The ladies serving are super friendly and efficient.I also love their wine boutique and other things for the kitchen. They carry Antello leather bags.#antello
Warm welcome and great service is what you need to start a day away from home. Breakfast was just as good. The coffee for me was superb as I am rather fussy with Americanos being made right.Definitely my next stop when I am in the area again.
Fantastic food in general, excellent burgers in particular. Everyones gotta try it.. We will definitely go back there
Beautiful place, nice little shop with some interesting things to buy, great pastries and treats, definitely worth a visit.
Wonderful service, delicious pastries and huge breakfasts! 😍Also a great place to buy the perfect gift for someones special occasion.
Lovely warm space. Perfect for a half-way stop between CT and CAW. I had the Italian Thick Drinking Hot Chocolate (priced R45.00 in May 2021- it was perhaps the best hot chocolate Ive ever had. They were operational even during loadshedding and they had WiFi - ticked all my boxes! Superb stop, definitely worth it!
Just wow! With a delicious range of snacks, light lunches, coffees and yummy sweet treats on the menu...😋 To the gorgeous goodies and trinkets available for gifts and spoils, I absolutely LOVE Tredici ♡ this place will always have a piece of my heart xxxThe chocolate brownie and iced coffee were out of this world 🚀
Their salad is to die for. The crunchy in the bread crumbs, to their crispy, tasty fries. My husband ordered their beef burger, it is to die for.I loved everything about this place. Plus their view is spectacular 👌
Beautiful Delicatessen at the entrance of swellendam. The food was absolutely amazing and large portions. Well worth the mildly pricey menu.
Food fresh & delicious. Well presented Excellent service. Great location with stunning views of the mountain.
Was greeted with a smile right as we walked in where there is a nice little gift shop and food items to go available. Lots of seating available downstairs and upstairs. Fast and friendly service. Delicious coffee and food.
Absolutely amazing place to stop and eat with lots of interesting things to see and buy. Will definitely stop there each time we go through Swellendam.
Lovely little place in Swellendam! Some of the best Hot Chocolate Ive ever tasted - sweet, but man its so good and the bread is delicious. The waiters are friendly and kind. Theres all sorts of nice things (gifts, bags, tea towels, kitchen tools etc.in the restaurant as well as biscuits, jams and other tasty things. Very nice. Prices are reasonable for big and well prepared meals!
Great view! Food was delicious and service was fast and friendly. Everything we were looking for for a lunch!
We stopped by for lunch in Swellendam. Lots of free parking. Lovely views upstairs. Outside seating area on the verandah also lovely. Delicious arrabiata penne and great pizza. Delicious pastries and bottled foods. The shop also sells wine, sun hats, scarfs, leather bags, candles - great to browse whilst waiting for your food and drinks. Service is super friendly and fast. Definitely recommended if you have to stop over in Swellendam. Located conveniently along the N2.
This is an amazing gem in the middle of nowhere (I say nowhere but it almost seems out of place in Swellendam and should become Sea Point, Cape Town)The building is stunning and stands out as you approach from the main road. Clearly Italian from looking at the building and finishing. Ample parking with steps leading up to the entrance. There is a wheelchair friendly entrance on the opposite side of the building. The restaurant has an upstart mezzanine as well as wine and gifting on sale, making it a great stop on a long trip where you can pick up pricey but quality gifts. The food looks great, we tried a selection of pastries and Italian delicacies.
Great food in this Italian gem. The restuarant also has a bakery. Highly recommend to stop here. Situated next to the N2
Took a Garden Route road trip during level 2 lockdown and had lunch at Tredici on our way. Its well located, about 2.5hrs drive from Cape Town on the N2.The atmosphere was conducive with very good service and portions. I would recommend a stop here for any traveller.
Great stop if going past Swellendam but not going into the town. The atmosphere is great, a nice Italian flavour, reminds me of the Napoli stores in Australia. Great food and drink. Friendly and helpful staff!
This perfect Italian bakery and deli restaurant seems a little out of place in it’s surrounds but it’s definitely worth a stop when passing through Swellendam. Plenty of parking, large menu with plenty of options and some interesting kitchen goodies for sale too.
Tredici is not a place to visit once ! We have been there in the winter when the snow is on the mountains with a heart warming fire in the fire place.Thick hot chocolate and pizza warm the cockles of your heart.Variety is such we always try something different and are pleasantly suprised !
Had the Belgian Waffle breakfast while passing through. On the whole I enjoyed it excepting I dont have a particularly sweet tooth and it was drenched in honey (would have preferred it it it was too the sideand the portion size was slightly disappointing considering it was almost R100. The coffee, while passable, was served to hot meaning the milk was slightly burnt and bitter.
Have driven pass a couple of time but today decided to stop by. Pretty fancy looking place that seems quite popular amongst the locals; started to fill up rapidly after we arrived. Quite a large selection on offer but opted for a lite lunch instead. To be fair, Id rather suggest their prices to be RRR than just two. Service was a bit slow but seeing that they had a few big tables, I guess it was to be expected. Nonetheless, when the food arrived it was top notch. Everything looked delicious and fresh and happy to say it tasted the part as well. There is also a small little shop that sell quirky food related products. Hopefully they have a branch closer to home.
Outstanding food service and hospitality, through recommendation we ordered Moroccan pork belly, lamb curry, springbok shank and beef short ribs, every dish was well prepared and thoroughly cooked and flavoured, comes in generous portion served with good sides too, Highly recommending this restaurant, fine dining standard at a farm stall’s price. owners/chef Michael was amazing to us, thank you, we enjoyed this dining experience so much.
Upmarket venue with great selection of food types and amazing range of gifts not readily available elsewhere.Great service and ambiance, with indoor and outdoor seating, even well maintained ablutions. An excellent stopover along the N2.
Enjoyed a wonderful morning at the bakery Tredici. Beautiful pastries and fresh bread to choose from. Friendly service from the staff. Exceptional mountain view from the outside terrace. Wonderful atmosphere inside with fresh aroma of artisanal style espresso coffee and a selection of fine teas to choose from. Perfectly situated on the main road between Cape Town and George.
This is an awesome place for a quick pit stop or even a long lunch. They have a stall outside for a quick coffee or some delicious pastries and a restaurant inside for sit down lunches. I would highly recommend you stop there on your way to or from Cape Town.
this restaurant definitely deserves all the 5 stars i see on the review. beautiful place near the N2 highway. wonderfully crafted pastry and we were only able to go there for breakfast. even the breakfast were done with much finesse.the restaurant also has a wide section for retail and we could even pick up jams , and condiments. i even found an antique whisky glass, much to my delight.
I liked the place where you are given the option of sitting inside or outside with a view.Although my smoked chicken was somewhat very dry. Bacon tasted like it was fried yesterday..but otherwise our waiter was very friendly . The place has vibrant vibe and buzz to it.
Lovely and unexpected stop on our way from Plettenberg Bay to Hermanus. Excellent fresh food, reasonable portions and prices, and good attentive service. Coffee wasnt amazing but thats only complaint. Great outdoor patio witha nice view of the mountains
