The staff are lovely and the room is okay. However definitely overpriced. £63 for one night, Have to pay for internet, power went out and the tea was horrid. Definitely not coming back here.
Noisy roomAnd could of done with a duvet rather than just a sheetApart from that would of been nice to have a drink at the end of the day but no bar staff to be found.Apart from that ok for a Travelodge.
From the moment we got to reception, the girl there was lovely, helpful and took good care of us. We needed iron, ironing board and hairdryer. She got them for us straight away. Room was very clean and comfy bed. All the other staff were very kind and helpful too. Breakfast was decent. Good English breakfast. Only downside was the coffee. It wasnt good and not much flavour to it. Overall, a great place to stay. Thank you to the staff.
Hotel very basic .food passable .day shift staff very friendly .night shift staff lazy never around and aggressive when asking for helpOutside area has junkies sitting around and used needles and rats the size od cats running around
Staff very helpful. very clean room
Stayed recently to visit a friend. Room basic but functional. Guy on night shift was really helpful during my stay after I had a few issues and he provided me with reassurance. I think his name was Rizwan. Great asset to the hotel.
Very nice stay, friendly helpful staff.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Not much in the way of coffee and tea facilities. But the worst thing is the choice of evening meals absolutely rubbish and no proper cook. They encourage you to get takeaways delivered.
Superb stay here. Lost my phone and wallet and somehow managed to get my phone back with the help of the gentleman at the desk call Riz. He did an amazing job and is a credit to Travelodge.
Website is terrible and tried 19 times without success. Was looking for 4 nights in August but lost interest. So going to book with Premier Inn
First time weve stayed here and it was perfect, room was spotless, fan in the room which is perfect for weather. We decided to try the unlimited breakfast, hands down the best breakfast Ive had from a hotel, everything was fresh and cooked beautifully. Staff very helpful when we needed anything. Thank you very much.
Nice dinner for only £12.50, clean and tidy room
Annie the manageress was amazing.so helpful and understanding.room was perfect and our nights stay was lovely.we will be visiting again soon
Bunch of theives operating for this Hotel. The staff are absolutely rude not very welcoming and untrustworthy. If you book over the phone traveloge has lost it. Good luck and enjoy you stay with them.
Perfect stay, clean, friendly stay, will certainly be back.
Happy with staff very useful.Chippy across Rd.But no litter bins outside front,or doggy disposal bin please this needs rectifing. We had come for my mums funeral an had couple of nice days here.
Absolute no rooms here, glad we did not stay here last night and extreamly disappointed at the staff, they didnt search up any rooms available and straight up said "fully booked", after that we left, even asked for other hotels out there, only to be told they might be possibly fully booked too, did not even tell us where these hotels are.1 star - never stayed here and honestly when seeing the inside, glad we did not!
Never again. Quite possibly the worst nights sleep I’ve ever had. To start with the positives, the lady on reception was lovely and helpful. The room was as I expected for such a cheap price, but was clean. Unfortunately the room was incredibly hot and stuffy with no way to control the heat. The window opened onto a busy main road so it wasn’t possible to sleep with it open. The pathetic little short curtains did nothing to keep light out so the room was bright by about 4.30am. The worst part was the noise. People could be heard coming and going throughout the night. The room has zero noise insulation so everything could be heard clearly like they were in the room with you. For the price I didn’t expect The Ritz but was at least expecting to be able to sleep.
I was here for 6 daysJenna rhiannon AndrewSevana where absolutely fantasticIm back down here working in a few weeks for 6 weeksI will definitely be back staying hereThe staff are attentive and very welcomingFelt at home away from home
A customers experience of Travel Lodge starts with reception. For instance Lee at Perry Barr, was accommodating, friendly and polite. He apoligiaed for dirty marks on carpets in hall way and bedroom. (This always hapoens at Travel Lodge - caroets are dirty). Here, at Middleborough however, I was booked in for four days. On my second day as I arrived back from work, I asked for a toilet roll. Simple? You would have thought it, but no. I was asked, when I had booked in and how long I was staying! This was the information needed for reception to make a decision as to whether I could have a toilet roll! I then had the audacity to ask if I could make it two, as I was there til Friday. I was actually told, No. There is a shortage on toilet rolls, ... And you have this now!! I explained there was only one used toilet roll on my arrival. But the lady would not budge. The Travel Lodge toilet rolls, are not, it seems unavailable to customers, unless they sign a declaration they are there for a week. I had paid just under £300.00, for three nights and together with my colleagues, £2,500, but please be warned it does not include toilet rolls. You can buy them from Aldi next door... I was told. As for asking for extra bedding because I was cold, I was told just use your heating!! We dont provide extra bedding!!! My advice - take your own toilet rolls and bedding or better still DONT BOOK IN TO TRAVEL LODGE.
Rooms are clean and adequate. Breakfast is good and the Bar conveniently located in the restaurant. No lunch meals served.
Hotel was alright good for price. But I sadly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone , staff were extremely rude making snarky remarks and made my overall time there uncomfortable when visiting. Cleaning staff were friendly though hence the star.
Had to pay twice. This is ridiculous. Still waiting for a refund on one of them. So Ive paid over £80 for our night.Tried ringing headquarters and NO ANSWER. I have rang 58 times!!!!
Reception at hotel warm and friendly, helpful and professional.Lift and corridors to room absolutely clean. The room was immaculate throughout. The "workers" are to congratulated on their exceptional efforts!
Very clean and staff were very helpful and friendly giving great customer service, I will definitely stay here again.
Booked as dog friendly and paid the extra £20 for our dog but its definitely not dog friendly. You arent allowed to leave pet in room alone and you cant take them into the small dining area. Luckily a family member offered to take our dog for the night so we were able to have breakfast. Breakfast is ok but £8.99 is a bit steep for Middlesbrough centre. Quite s bit of noise from fellow guests inside and outside on the road. Wouldnt stay there again.
Nice clean hotelStayed for a work tripBreakfast was good plenty of choices
Perfectly fine , no pretence hotel. Clean, bright with nice breakfast and Jenna the Boro fan as an added bonus! Cheerful and friendly chat, especially when Boro beat Spurs in the FA cup!
Excellent hotel. Welcoming , cheery staff, immaculate warm room. Thank you 🌻
Id lost my room key and had a bit of a terrible night but the staff were absolutely amazing and so helpful, making the end to a bad night much better!
Pretty good.Only complaint was that my business trip was extended and the desk/website has limited ability to extend stay. I ended up swapping hotels rather than paying for the help call line when booked through a travel agent.
I was situated in room 102 which, like room 101, is right next to reception with people coming and going and the door banging loudly all night. Sadly, I just didn’t sleep at all, woken up every half an hour. Would never stay here again. At least soundproof the doors a bit, or adjust the door to reception so that it does not close so loudly! All it would take is a little dampening tape. The bedroom door is not flush with the wall nor ceiling too, so you can hear everything going on outside. This hotel is only better than a hostel on account of the privacy of each room and the private bathroom. The point of a hotel is to get a good nights rest, and as this Travelodge has failed on that front, I cannot rate it highly. I’ve slept better in YHAs.Other than that, the hotel location is good, the heater in the room is powerful, the bed was supportive, and the hotel in general was clean. USB charging ports in the room. A bit stingy that you have to pay for wifi! Staff were nice enough, and extra tea and coffee were available in reception from a little table.
Well located, 5 minutes walk to Middlesbrough bus and coach station. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We checked in and we were allocated a room on the 1st floor. We went to into the room and we were met with an overpowering odour. I immediately went to reception reported it and the receptionist came to our room and we were immediately swapped to a different room.A would have no hesitation recommending Middlesbrough Travelodge.
My husband and I have stayed here before, and wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant meals were delicious and generously portioned. The room was comfortable, and the hotel is within a short walk of the bus station.
The best staff so helpful and went over and beyond.Very friendly.Comfortable rooms.Lovely staff
Hotel has no secure parking a total of seven vehicles got broken into during my stay including my own vehicle. The hotel alongside the police are well aware of the reoccurring break in of vehicles parked outside of the hotel in the car park and due to lack of CCTV situation there is reoccurring pattern of vehicles getting broken into and nothing has ever been done about this matter.
Nice and clean, friendly staff. Rooms were very warm and it was a bit noisy at night, but that was other guests. Has usb charging ports next to the beds, which made things a bit easier.
Our room was so clean! Even the carpets had just been cleaned, I was truly surprised. The bed was so comfortable that I had slept well that night. The shower was amazing and breakfast the next morning was wonderful. Thanks Travelodge Middlesbrough.
Parking made me nervous with broken car window glass heaps in various spots right near the hotel tho. Couldnt wait to leave because of that. Hotel was fine no issues.
Room was great but hot in this weather. There is a fan in the room, but its pretty much useless. However, the staff were absolutely amazing and made our trip well worth it.
Receptionist wasnt very welcoming and was consistently stand off ish an example of this was due to covid there where no coffee/tea in the room, I went to ask the receptionist for some coffee. I got a harsh response of not until breakfast starts, if youve already booked breakfasely I explained I meant for in my room and got huffed at then she just walked away, then shouted from the back what do you want. Needless to say not a great way to start the day. Very hot room on the side that had the sun on all day, made for a difficult nights sleep
1st time staying at a Travelodge..... And last time too... Never again... Flies in the room, bath tub stained tv Smaller than my mobile phone... However, staff genuinely nice and very good breakfast. Booked and paid for 3 nights... Left after 1 night, to go to the purple side at extra cost.
Its clean and the staff are very friendly. Well appointed with hand cleanser for entrance/ exit etc. I know rooms are clinically cleansed so as safe as youre likely to get in these horrible circumstances. Be sensible about it...but dogs welcome, but dont take your dog if you know its an idiot please!!.
the staff at the end of the night were ridiculously disrespectful to me & my friends. we all returned calmly to our room early hours in the morning after a good night, yet it was ruined by the attitude of the staff that threatened “to call the police” & kick us out - which they did, leaving us out in the cold & freezing.it could have been a nice, calm end to the night but was completely disrupted by the rude night staff.
Supposed to be dog friendly. Nothing provided for dogs and dogs are only allowed in the rooms. Food average and expensive for what you got, with the exception of breakfast. Overall looked dated. OK for a quick one night no frills stay if you want a B&B.
Very disappointing 3 day stay at travelodge middlesbrough. The weather was very nice but there wasnt a fan provided like other rooms. Not enough towels were provided, I had to ask everyday for some more. Last night we decided to eat in the restaurant but only a small selection of food was available. I hope when we return in August things would have improved.
Nice hotel very clean. Exceeded my expectations Although i was not happy with the dinner we had. We could barely remove the chicken wing from the body. Chicken nuggets were more processed than Mcdonalds. The only reason it got three stars was because of the nice staff and clean bed.
For me, its the staff that make the difference. The location is handy for Middlesbrough and Stockton and the rooms are clean and well sized. The staff on the other hand were amazing. They were really friendly and went out of their way to help.
The location wasnt too bad. It was right next to aldi and shared the car park . So guests need to be sure that they register there car at the hotel reception every 24 hours. The breakfast was slightly expensive, but makes up as kids eat free. The room size was fairly good too. Quite spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. The spare beds were a bit springy and not as comfortable as the double bed. The service was good and the staff were friendly .
From the very first time we stayed here, the staff are so friendly and make you very welcome. It is like home from home, grandsons love it here and always look forward to seeing Jan and Vicky who are brilliant with them and us they are a credit to this Travelodge and management should be very proud of their customer service. Rooms, towels bedding all very clean. We will Def be back. Thankyou again Jan and Vicky.
