Simply furnished rooms in a down-to-earth hotel offering a restaurant with free kids' meals.
Jah Breadz did check in this wonderful location in Woolwich, London 🇬🇧 when he was on his Uk Tour from August to September #2020 Thank you Uk 🇬🇧 for experience 💯
Such a bad experience to be there. The windows where not able open in the room. When I asked for the key to open the windows they said they cannot give the key and once you closed the windows they cannot give the key to open it. So the room was fully suffocating as there where no ventilation and AC
Possibility the worst hotel I’ve stayed in! Reception staff with poor attitudeBed uncomfortable and dirtyPoor food in the restaurantJust avoid this hotel at all costs!
Rooms were cleanish. All the useable things anyway. My bed light uncovered an array of dead moths or whatever got stuck in there. Only turned it on by accident as leaving. Aside from that very clean. Be warned though they house people out of jail in there. I had no problems but safe to say I wouldnt go as a young family. God I am making it sound worse than it was. Was actually ok, but then Im pretty easy going. Oh, as with every Travelodge l, absolutely every add on is a rip off. From paid for WiFi to their 12 quid breakfast.
Worst hotel ever, no intercom, services is very poor, they said they can only change bedsheets and clear after 7days, my room was a mess no daily cleaning, no refund of money, worst place to stay but neat environment and very close to major stores around, relatively nice breakfast.
Located within walking distance of public transport. Sainsburys and Tesco stores are also really close to this Travelodge. The restaurant was very clean and served a limited but, ample range of foods for breakfast.
The family room was big and comfortable enough. However, there was no soap in the bathroom. We requested for this to be filled up and the room attendant came through whilst we were out. They had not refilled it!! The breakfast was okay.
Staff at front desk were lovely, even changed our room to be next to our friends without having to ask
Disastrous experience !!! Call before arriving, it could happen to us that, arriving at 11 pm there is no room because they have not received the reservation through Agoda (the money is taken 😡).They wanted to liquidate us by reimbursing you and leaving us on the street with two small children. Only after threatening to call the police did they take action to look for another accommodation. Never again !!
Travel lodge Woolwich is a dump!!!! Its very dirty. I was given duvet with blood stains. I had to purchase my own duvet. I could not leave because I already paid for 5days and it was not refundable. Repeatedly ask for change of towels with no response through the duration of my stay. Bathroom was filthy. The whole environment was filthy. Our window view was a massive overflowing dumpster with mice running arround in the night. The container for milk and coffee was filthy. The receptionist said they clean rooms every 7days. We stayed 5days with no change of beddings/towels Stay there at your own risk.
Room was nice. Tv control didn’t work probably. The menu was basic it didn’t have much choice. No fish or pasta on menu the menu could be improved on . Breakfast was good. There was a lot of noise outside at night near our windows when the takeaway place took their big rubbish bins down the passage at 2 am in the morning every day then the dustmen turned up very early the next day. Some of the staff their English wasn’t very good but they were friendly enough. If I needed to stay there again I would.
Horrible. Overpriced. A climate controlled building design. No a/c in rooms. Windows 0pens 50mm. In 40 degree heat. Bloody awful. Given a small fan. Do not buy the breakfast. Its all you can eat. You wont. Staff. Some good some bad. Some just ugly. Premier Inn far better.
The rooms are a little austere, but clean and functional, and the location is good. I booked here because the local Premier Inn was full, but I think Ill probably stay here again instead.
A bit disappointing that they didnt have AC, but it was not advertised to have it. Suitable room with good amenities.
Great stay clean rooms friendly staff superb location 5 mins walk to shops and transport parking with carpark
Ill start with the good parts of my stay here:-The staff members I interacted with were friendly and always willing to help you out or at least try. This goes a long way for me, so well done to everyone!-The bed mattress was firm but comfortable and I slept like a bird! The bed itself was quite massive too! Youd easily be able to fit 4 adults on it!- The location, while quite distant from London city centre, had an abudance of shops, supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance. The Woolwich Arsenal DLR Line station, Elizabeth Line station and the Woolwich National Railway station were also less than a 10-minutes walk away.-The price I paid originally for a double-bed room for 2 people with an en-suite was fair. Now for the negatives, which werent that many but one thing in particular left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth.-Me being a bit dumb, I managed to book our stay for exactly 1 month AFTER our actual visit in London and I only realised when we showed up and the receptionist had to point this out to me. This was entirely my fault and I accept resonsibility for it. Fortunately, the receptionist told me they still had rooms available for that night and he gave me a number to call and amend my reservation, which I did. Now, while the person on the phone was very polite & helpful, Travelodge decided that they had to smack me in the face and take advantage of my f***up by charging me an extra 110% of the original amount I paid in order to make a simple change that wouldve cost them absolutely nothing and wouldve left them with a very satisfied customer. Ive been in the hospitality industry for a number of years before and I can tell when a business is taking the piss like that, so theres no excuses here. This felt quite scummy and completely unnecessary so itll greatly affect the overall rating. The rest are very minor things like:-Lack of a mini-fridge or bedside stand.-Poor ventilation from the window and no AC unit (though they did provide a fan).-Shower head fixed to the wall.-Small room, though perfect for short stays.
Amazing reception staff, rooms facing the high st are very noisy. My husband loved the happy hour. 😂
Big rooms, the cleaning ladys were super helpful !
I stayed for one night in a wheelchair accessible room/adapted due to being in a cast and not being able to access my own shower/bath upstairs in my home. Room was spotless, quiet, bed was cosy and wet room met all my needs.
Staff on book in was friendly and helpful. Room had a light out, but on first night lorries arriving into the shared car park at 2235 and 2 just after midnight isnt on.Had a meal Thurs night, felt as if theyd forgot about us, meal felt reheated.Location ok for DLR an Elizabeth Lines, about an 8 minute walk. Plenty shops in area and was vibrant.
My God, I didnt know theres no fridge. And its summer. I cant even freeze a can of soda.
Avoid at all cost.Came for business. The sink sewage was clogged. The key card was not working. I went to the staff. He asked me who gave me this card. I said, “the front desk staff who checked me in”. He asked, “Who?” I said, “I dont know”He said, “You know understand what I am saying, you got keycard and you can’t tell who gave it to you”. I’m stunned. I asked him to check my booking. He finally lokked at my booking and fixed it. No apology intented.Would never come again. No more visits ever from my organisation either
Staff very friendly, location ok. Easy for public transport. Area is a little doggy but easy for the O2
I had to suffer for 4 days !Although the people is very friendly and kind (shoutout to Shinicethis place is not fit for a hotel… there is a train that passes at night and will wake you up the first two nights while you get used to it. It really feels like a little earthquake but enough to pull you apart from your sleep. The rooms smell weird … like oily and the AC will drip water all night making even noise…Definitively not recommended
Ive stayed here probably 20 times over the last 5 years. I return mainly because of its great location and its large Car/Van parking area. You can work untill late and there will always be a Parking Space for a Car or a Van.The rooms generally need refurbishing. Some rooms better than others. Staff work hard and are always pleasant.
Was here for about 2 weeks. I had a very usual travel lodge experience. Standard bed. However no one ever came to clean the room or change the sheets I had to go and replace the bins and toilet rolls myself. I think one night the police raided one of my neighbours lol… it is Woolwich and not the travel lodges fault. Unlimited breakfast got boring real quickly
A young football team stay in the same hotel and the kids are very noisy, running and screaming around. It has been 3 nights already. The hotel could not do anything after report and complaints. Sad about the experience.
Disgusting experience so far. Our sink didnt work and they took forever to fix it. And then we found out that the bath tub also clogs and that took forever as well to be fixed. They behavior wasnt great either. Not recommended at all
Dont bother staying here!!The reception and cleaning staff here need alot of help or just scrap them altogether and start again, except one asian gentleman. Theyre Very slow and lazy. Dont follow travelodge rules, just make them up as they go along and lie.Dusty run down hotel in a derelict area.Bathroom door handles broken, sink blocked, Maybe change the dirty shower curtains and bathtub grip for sanitary reason. Absolutely disgusting 🤮Cleaning toilets with brush then continue to walk out the room with the brush dripping on the way out.Maybe leave each room with a brush 🤔As i said Slowww!
Nicely decorated rooms. Nice beds. Friendly receptionist.
I can recommend this travelodge .its clean and quiet and its on high street so you can drop your stuff and go for shopping. Thames is 5 minutes walk if you want to go for a walk .View is not very beautiful so dont expect that.they have a small cafe downstairs .
Stayed in numerous Travelodges across the country - this was the first stay here at Woolwich. We arrived at 14.30 and waited in the Car park until 15.00 check-in. We had to pay for 2 Hours of parking as the parking is then free after 17.00. Our room was small and compact with minimal furniture i.e. only one chair to sit on, and one of us had to sit on the corner of the bed. The room however was very clean and welcoming. Super breakfast in the morning. Our swipe cards stopped working during breakfast so we had to get the staff to get us back to our room to checkout. There are lots of facilities in Woolwich restaurants/ shops/ fast foods and stores. Great location. Certainly would stay here again. We would definitely recommend.
Stayed here last night after not staying at this travelodge for quite some time. It used to not be the best place to stay.. rude staff, dirty carpets/smells, and some people hanging around the car park late at night which would make you feel uncomfortable. Anyway ended up here as needed to be in the area for work and it was the best option for the price. Wow so glad I did! Dont know what theyve done but such an improvement! Whole hotel seems to have had a deep clean, much friendlier staff and the atmosphere seems to be much better. Really enjoyed my stay and recommend to others. Never thought I would say that! Whatever you guys have done well done!
A clean, functional and peaceful place to stay if on low budget. Great breakfast. Central Reservations Contact Centre is functional and helpful. A certain Mark or so in the team deserves a pay raise. Location is good, with easy access to train and bus stations.
Family room size (on 1st floorwas ok but in bad state with faded carpet, bathroom needing refurbishment and slow draining washhand basin, the hangers/open closet was directly above the camp bed so couldnt be used. Breakfast was disappointing with dry scrambled egg, coffee machine not working or serving half a cup, no metal forks, only cheap plastic ones. Hardly any staff around/available. One front of house staff member was the only one who seemed interested and one kitchen staff. The place felt truly neglected (even though some painting work/refurb was going onand I wonder if it will close down or be sold off soon.Weve stayed here quite a few times before but it was never like this. We wont be coming back.
It was nice and good breakfast. Cheap car park Kimberley the assistant manager was so caring and friendly, was quick to address our complaint in a very respectful manner and not being defensive. She was very polite, good listener and promised to address the issue we complained about then offered is a voucher.
The room was good, clean and the bed comfy enough. The people at reception smiley and helpful.Unfortunately the best part of the stay -Breakfast- was a disaster.I didn’t book for breakfast so I went down and ask if I could have it, the lady says of course no problem only card payment. Great I pay and I go.Breakfast in week days is served between 7am and 10am. I was there at 9am and I was the only person there.Arrived in front of the self service location I realise that both coffee machine were not working. So that already say it all, when I paid the reception lady could have mention it. So I ask the kitchen lady if I could have hot water in a cup so I could at least have a tea. She said “no, coffee machine isn’t working” don’t they have a cattle in the kitchen to provide at least hot water in termos jar?Ok I put my mind at peace and went for juice and water. Now let’s get some food! Get in front of the food station and there was only sausage (3 left), bacon (only few slicesand watery scrambled egg and beans. It’s only 9am and it suppose to provide breakfast for another full hour!!!Ok I get what’s left, toast the last slices of bread left and seat.Go get some cutlery and the have only plastic fork, spoon and knife are regular silverware. Aside of the plastic use that is really not necessary in a restaurant, but also I have to use two as I try to cut the bacon and it broke! So also cheap plastic and hard bacon.Definitely I would have be better off at Greggs down the road. Also no salt anywhere to be found. And the kitchen lady was mopping the floor at 9:10am.So if you come only for the stay it’s good. But don’t count on the nice continental hotel breakfast. Just go on the high street and grab some food there.
This was the worst hotel I ever stayed in.Came in from travel with a 11 month old baby, the first room they gave me was dirty, bed was not done, everything dirty. Second room it looked OK, but after 2 minutes inside I noticed the floor was dirty with TOE NAILS."Face coverings are mandatory" - the staff dont use face coverings.
The staff at this travelodge are to be highly recommended. They were polite, courteous and very kind. They all contributed to making my stay a very comfortable and memorable one. I thank all of you who helped make my stay such a positive experience. Thank you ❤
It was just okay. I could only stay a night there and went somewhere else, it needs a revamp, redecorating, and renovation, change of rugs in the rooms, and shower should probably have a glass cover to prevent water falling on floor, tried getting out early in the morning to get to work and doors were locked shut by the security
This Travelodge occupies the old, and grand, Royal Arsenal Co-Operative Society Building which is imposing from the outside but standard Travelodge on the inside, although it does retain some original features such as the Roll of Remembrance naming Society members who fell in the Great War 1914-1918. There is a second building at the back with further rooms which is called The Bakery and at one time, it probably was.Perhaps I WAS just unlucky here, BUT......I arrived in London earlier than expected, so I went to the Email which Travelodge had sent earlier to inform me, among other things, that I could check in early (1200for the usual £10 fee. Unfortunately the system kept kicking me out. Fair enough, these things happen. So I went to the Woolwich Travelodge in person at 1030 where I tried to ask the chap at reception if I could book an early check-in and come back at 1200, which is the early check-in time. The bloke kept cutting me off mid-sentence and refused to actually listen to what I was trying to tell him. Eventually, he appeared to grasp what I was saying but refused to book an early check-in and once more told me to come back at 1200. Unhelpful doesnt come close to describing his attitude. When I returned he informed me, very rudely and very abruptly, that there were no rooms available for early check in. I asked him why he hadnt told me that earlier. He shrugged his shoulders. I then told him that I would refer the matter to his head office which brought about a slight change in his attitude and he booked me into a room in The Bakery at the rear. From No rooms available to availability in 2 minutes. Im not the complaining type but he was just taking the piss and I wasnt having it.I went to the room which was directly above the bins and, to put it mildly, was stinking from the refuse below.I would probably just have gone with it if it was only 1 night, but I was staying for 6 nights so I went back to reception and informed the guy that the room wasnt acceptable.Very reluctantly he agreed to change it to one in the main building which was right next to a fire door which banged shut every time someone went along the corridor. I had to wedge the door open to get peace.Thereafter things were just about OK, and the room was comfortable enough, just like most other Travelodges. The communal areas like the corridors were dusty and in need of a good vacuum-ing.When in this general area, I normally use the Travelodge at London City Airport. However they wanted £616 for the 6 nights and this one Woolwich Arsenal cost £285 ie less than half that price. The London City Airport Travelodge is one of the best, if not THE best, Travelodge I have ever stayed in. A lot of that has to do with the Staff Attitude at Reception. This one at Woolwich Arsenal doesnt come close and I wont be back.
Worst Travelodge ever. No face towels, dusty sheets, no unlimited breakfast (no dietary options, both coffee machines broken, stale breadto be exact limited inedible food. And to top the experience there were junkies in the opposite room the whole hallway stank on weed! DO NOT COME HERE!
Room was clean, smelled nice. Only headache is the parking the next morning. I ended up just leaving at 9am before needing to put a new ticket. No hassle checking in or out.
The room was quiet and mostly comfortable ( the bed didnt suit me, but I cant put my finger on why ). Location was good with a large car park behind the hotel.
Hotel itself looks okay, was clean and pretty quiet. Restaurant was quite loud. Breakfast lovely warm and fresh.Evening meal... I wouldnt recommend it , chips looks like made in cold oil, mushy an falling apart, burger really dry felt like eating cardboard.
Worst hotel ever!! The customer service of this scrubby looking man who was quite rude and didnt look like he has got good personal hygiene. On top of everything I have left the hotel earlier and the people who stayed done something and I receive a civil claim 1month later! Absolutely disgusting! They are not picking up their phone on reception, and it keeps on charging me. So who is there? Arent you suppose to pick up the phone? Absolutely disgusting place and customer service -1. Do not go there
I think that every single person on the reception is amazing most kindest easy to talk to people I have ever met. I think this hotel is better than any premier inn or any other hotel in this location by far, with the best team working here. Can’t wait for my next visit.
Everybody at front desk is amazing the sweetest kindest people. So friendly and open too. I think travelodge as a company are luck to have these people, they are a major asset to the the company.
The room was clean but there was a smell in the bathroom, we bought an air freshener to make it bearable. The bed was too firm and there are no sockets near the bed to charge phones etc.I asked for an extension lead because I use Cpap and ended up buying my own.I also asked for extra pillows due to other health issues but was told they didnt have any so ended up buying some. The room was stuffy, the fan worked but it was insufficient.Overall I found the staff unhelpful and the stay uncomfortable. I guess you get what you pay for, next time I think Ill go to Premier Inn. At least they have decent beds and air conditioning.
The only reason this gets even one star is because it was a bed to sleep in. The staff were rude to my husband and very unhelpful. My husband had a sleep machine and there were no plugs by the bed so when I enquired about moving to a different room the staff were dismissive and told me to buy an extension cable. When my husband checked in to meet me the woman greeting him was rude and didnt trust him even though I had given them instructions he was coming. The cleaning staff didnt empty bins or clean the room the whole week we were there. They just about made the bed but no clean bedding. On the last night my husband went to get us dessert and was told we would have to wait an hour for ice cream. So he paid and came back an hour later and they had forgotten our order and sold out. They offered us left over custard and a stale muffin. We should of at least got a refund for it but the staff was currently arguing very loudly with a customer and being very rude so we did not approach them as we were uncomfortable. The staff did not feel as feel welcome or comfortable are whole stay. We seemed like an inconvenience to them and it was a very disappointing service.Overall terrible stay and will not be staying in future or recommending to anyone.
