The Quadrant, Market Pl, Romford RM1 3ER, Ati
In a busy commercial area, this casual hotel within 5 minutes' walk of eateries is a 7-minute walk from Romford train station and 4 miles from history exhibits at the Valence House Museum.Simply decorated rooms come with tea and coffeemaking facilities, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs.Breakfast and parking are available, and there's also a low-key bar.
I booked a room for 2 nights, to be fair the room was ok, but 2 weeks after leaving I received a letter from CRS saying I had broke a mirror, Im a 70yr old senior citizen, all furniture is fixed no way did I break anything, I wrote to head office to no avail, I ended up having to pay for the damage before they increased the payment, I can definitely say I will never stay in a Travelodge again.
DO NOT GO HERE!! AVOID AT ALL COST I was here like 2-3 weeks ago the lady who served me said some racist remarks cut the long story short she didn’t wanted me to stay at the hotel not only that she refused to give me her name and was very rude. I finally got her name from the morning staff it was Esme!! Or sometime like that ginger hair, 20s, slim build and 5ft6/7
DO not stay here it was so bad its like a hostel if not worse!! Also dont stay here if your from any other ethnic background racism at the fullest, comments were made by staff and others staying in the hotel!! The place will give you PTSD! (Esme the apparent hotel manager is by far the worst service, general staff did a better jobstay away at all cost. It maybe a cheap nights stay but id rather pay 50 extra and stay in something a little better. I feel they may be using the hotel for decant residents within the area. I do not want anyone to go through what i did so please dont book this place.

If your looking to stay in romford , then its an ideal place to live , but if your staying for more then 4 days , room service is really bad and they state that they wont provide any change in linen if its below 7 days ...
The staff dont know how to do their job, they tried kicking us out cos we had guest in the room that was not staying just visiting and we were quiet and not making any noise. Another staff member we spoke to the morning after said that it was in the terms and conditions that u can not have guest so i asked her to show it to me but she couldnt find it at all. so i am extremily annoyed and unsatisfied with this hotel an the attitude they have shown us. They way they treat their guests is not okay, this is not for all the staff as there were some nice people on shift but the woman who threatened us about the situation should not treat her guests like that all. This woman also through her colleague under the bus by saying his name over and over to get it in our heads like he was the one to complain about instead of owning uo to what she did and how she treated her guests, this woman also ripped up the highlighted paper she gave us which was evidence of her making false accusations about the situation.
Bed bugs, broken lights and rude staff
Stopping at the quadrant travellodge while working in romford,Nice and clean with a good nights sleep,Great choice for breakfast and the roast half chicken with salad for tea is highly recomended. All the staff are great, any problems are rectified straight away.Makeing working from home that little bit more bearable.
Very welcoming and helpful staff, clean rooms and delicious breakfast. Super location in Romford . Will definitely come back!
Treated horrenously. Rude and disrespectful staff. Do not stay in this hotel. Dirty room old bottles left under the bed
Esme managed to change a booking on the wrong day for a smaller fee rather than the 80 odd quid another booking would’ve been. Life saver
Never in my life I would ever go back to this place theres absolutely no fridge no microwave they dont clean the rooms beds were horrible have to put towels on the floor so you wouldnt fall you get 30mins wifi free have to pay for wifi everyday and not to mention they dont provide breakfast as well horrible experience.
We had a very good experience staying at the hotel. Room was big and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to the staff! Scot and Anna-Marie was so helpful and find a solution to a problem which we where experiencing. Would definitely recommend this place.
This branch is a half way house.Unreal horror story...Every time due to circumstances, I am given little choice but to use Travelodge. It is one of the few low priced pet friendly lodgings. This ROMFORD THE QUADRANT branch takes the Michael.I realise now when I checked in what the Polish check in woman meant. At first I did not understand. She had said I had a lot of bags. Now I think she thought I must have been thrown out of somewhere. BECAUSE....This is not a usual Travelodge as such. It is a cross between a junkie/alcoholic den cross halfway house. Benefit street/drug dealing no hope hoodie types. So much weed is smoked here I am permanently high, and I dont even smoke.I chose an early check in and after waiting for a long time got given a very small, dark back room, with tiny windows and an old bath in the bathroom.Really horrible. On the way to the room which was on the second floor, all I smelt was skunk.I requested another room. If that was their best room, what was their worst? The manager chose a visually better and larger sunny room. I accepted. I did not realise all the faults until the next day onwards.I did notice all the small faults but did not care. It was not until all the small faults became one major disaster. Stamping, slamming of doors, smashing sounds, pounding feet running, and really loud bass music sounds from guests.Blocked shower and sink. Missing tile grout. Sink not sealed. Extractor not working causing whole room to be soaking. Windows do not open so room always smells stale. Heater is falling off ceiling. TV had what I thought were scratch marks, but now the marks have gotten bigger on screen. Its been many days now have had no TV as only black screen. Previous guest had smashed walls in many places. They must of hit the TV too, as the scratches I thought initially are not scratches and have split. BUT this is not the worst thing. The green phlegm all over one curtain panel was unbelievable. It was there for a while to have dried so crispy. I drew the curtains the second night. I felt a scratch and looked to see what did it. It was the heavily dried thick green phlegm on the curtain. I felt so sick. The guests around here spit on the windows also. When I arrived on third floor the window was covered in scratches and spit. No one ever cleaned it. The evidence is still here over a week later. Only difference is it was not green, like in my room.I now understand why this branch is nearly always the cheapest.

Had trouble with our booking, Tatiana was amazing, she went out of her way and managed to get us a room sorted straight away. Excellent service. Room was a decent size, lovely and clean. Bed was very comfortable had a lovely nights sleep.
The 1 star I am giving this belongs entirely to the lovely lady at the desk, genuinely lovely, helpful and friendly. The 4 missing stars belong to the dirty kettle that could not be replaced, the Internet that I paid for that was worse than mobile 3G, and general grotty nature of this disgustingly overpriced hotel given what it is. I would expect a stay at this place to be no more than £35 a night for what I experienced and its criminal that they actually charge for that Internet. Caught me in a bad mood? Maybe. But boy did you make things a hell of a lot worse.
The beds are to small the breakfast meat is tooo freshThe rug was worn and tear dog hair on the rugsThe shower nasty 1/10 never recommend
I was stood waiting at the front desk for THIRTY MINUTES, only fir the blonde lady to come uo and be like oo sorry haha then waited another 10 minutes for her to sort of my key card
Great staff and the night manager not sure of his name is absolutely brilliant. Clean and very spacious room for reasonable price, its the go to place if you ever want a good night sleep in romford and lastly its easily accessible to public transport .
Stayed at this hotel last week and saw bed bugs on the side of my mattress. Was hard to get to sleep after that but couple days later I have see bed bug bites all over the left and right arm. Few near my shoulders and on my hands too. Disgusted with the cleanliness of this hotel.
Great staff, comfy bed, warm quilt and lovely breakfast. I will stay again for sure My room was spacious and so quiet for 2 nights we had a great sleep. Thank you so much I have also put a longer review on trip adviser.
The staff who were working last night should be ashamed of the way they have handled my complaint! Last night I went to sleep early as I had work at 5am, I was rudely awakened at 2130ish by loud abrupt knocking on my door. When I went to reception to investigate what was going on I was told that my room had been double booked?! I requested a refund and was told that this would be given in the morning! I explained that I didn’t have much time in the morning as I had work very early. They told me it would be fine. This morning the staff had no idea what I was talking about! The dark haired girl last night was very rude and abrupt, very unimpressed!
I had a nightmare booking in the hotel had mistakingly overbooked. So I was pretty much buggered for places to stay as the festival was on. A lovely lady called Jade an employee of the hotel sorted everything out. Making numerous phone calls and emails to try and get me a room. Without her outstanding effort I wouldnt be back in my favourite hotel. Thanks Jade x
My husband stayed here for work last week and he said rooms and staff were good but that the alley way at the side of the hotel had bins that were rat infested, literally loads of rats feeding from them. He wasntsure whose bins they were and as he didnt eat at the hotel and was on the Second floor he wasnt too concerned. He did say there was no sign of them in the parts of the hotel he saw
Arrived very late but friendly check in nevertheless. Good price but thats dependant on the day. Largest room ive ever seen in a travelodge, no idea if they are all the same. Carpets outside are well worn however. Curtains did not fit the entire window. First travelodge ive been to with a hot meal/bar option and kinda wish i hadnt eaten there and would have given five stars otherwise. Great location but was actually very difficult to find as the entrance is very small and is quite hidden, arrived at night.
Alex and Ann-maire where so helpful to me last night without there help I would don’t know what I’d have done. Travelodge are very lucky to have such caring team members! Thank you both so much
Great helpful staff.just like home from home.Clean air conditioned rooms.I stay in travelodge hotels all over the country and this is the friendliest one i have ever stayed in.Highly recommended.
The hotel was short staffed when we arrived, but all the staff were so friendly & helpful while we were there that we have nothing other than positive things to say about them. We also had very quiet rooms and slept well. We booked three rooms for family for 16-18 August 2021. Well done, would go back again!
Thanku to the staff that were on at this weekend from 6 augast to the 8 augast . We were meat with a smilie and warm welcome. Thank u for your help when son lost his phone. U called to let me no his phone was at my aunties house. Had a very good weeken from start to finish. Thank you so much Roberta simpson and family. Deffo let family and friends no to come to your hotel
I have tried to book in a double room and have been given 2 single beds and my fiance is pregnant. When I asked for my money back the manage said no and what a rude person she is too. We was asked to leave when I said I was going to make a complaint. This is disgusting behaviour.
Lovely hotel to stay in. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Definitely stay here again. Always a pleasure staying in travelodges
Literally been in hotels all over the world and have never received a welcome like this.Shaz and her team are a credit to Travelodge and could grace any of the Top hotels in the world. She should be in charge of training.
I didnt have high expectations as room was under £25, but was impressed. Staff were welcoming, room was clean and there were no noise issues. Convenient for centre of Romford and for getting into central London.
Stayed here 3 times this week. Place is clean, staff are so friendly. Can’t get a better location! Shaz checked us in every time she has been amazing, she’s lovely and so helpful her customer service is brilliant. Rooms are spacious, great value for money. Thank you for a great stay would definitely recommend and will be back again. Thanks again 😁
The Hotel had a pungent smell of cannabis throughout. Staff not particularly helpful and quite abrupt not in any uniform so difficult to know who to speak to with concerns.Room was clean and comfortable.
Decent enough Travelodge. I was not used to the much-smaller-than-usual room size! However, it done the job and of course the roommwas cleaned to Travelodges usual good standard. I thought that being right on the market, it would be noisy. However, we were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was and got a good nights rest there. There is a bar on site, and breakfast is available. However, we did not try either. Great location for Romford (bars, shopping, churches, station!), and its just a short cab ride away from the greyhound stadium.
I can’t put anything less than 1 star unfortunately but this has been the worst stay. I’ll start with the stale breakfast the watered down drinks and poor customer service, rotten fruits which was supposed to be “fresh” during my stay they wanted to kick out a family because a minor came to visit and wanted to stay over the night. They moved me over 3 times during my stay for no reason, and even accused my brother of smoking weed when he is asthmatic. The morning staff are friendly but the staff on night shift are rude. Wouldn’t recommend.
Stayed here a couple of times. Nothing special to be honest apart from a cheap bed and mircowaved breakfast.Which was delivered to your room door.I personally wasnt very impressed. Out and parking your motor is a nightmare
Ideally situated in town centre. Room needed bit of updating but clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast. Staff nice. Room doors closed noisily into early hours. Relaxing though and would stay again.
Me and my partner travelled from Hull for a paintball event and stayed in this hotel, staff were very welcoming and friendly, great service and gave us all the information we needed for the surrounding area as we had never been before. Will definitely use again next year for our next event!
The room was spotless, only downfall was that they only gave 1 towel between me and my partner; And the room was so hot and the window was open. But it was a good night stay, and the staff were so polite.
I had all my toiletries etc stolen/thrown out by accident, by cleaners . I politely, but firmly complained in the morning, as I had no toiletries and would have to replace all of them. I told them my toiletries should be returned or replaced at least.I returned later, at around 8pm, to be told I was being kicked out, and to leave immediatelyI was alone with 3 young children, 7, 3 and 2, late at night, with no refund for 10 days and nowhere to stay.I explained the coincidence of me complaining about my toiletries and then being Asked to leave. I explained I had nowhere to go to , late at night with my 3 young children. The hard face black female manager, I don’t remember her name, just stone faced told me to leave immediately.I have read reviews and seen a number of people have also been kicked out for no good reason.Absolutely appalling staff and management staff.I SIMPLY POLITELY COMPLAINED AND WAS TOLD TO LEAVE.I did consider going to the press, who would have jumped on this.Awful Awful Awful placeGo here if you don’t mind being bullied, threatened and evicted if you dare to complain about anything.
The staff were very good, friendly and helpful. The room and everything else was good, clean and comfortable. However the breakfast wasnt so good. The menu says fresh fruit but there wasnt any, All the fruit yoghurt ran out as did the eggs, bacon and other stuff. The staff had to make several trips out to the shops to get more. Probably down to poor management. Sort it out please.
The place is rubbish I had booked 2 family rooms a week earlier to my stay but on the day none of them were ready they then moved me and my brothers family to another hotel because they didnt have any rooms available when i booked a week in advance. The only good thing was that the staff were nice and friendly. The environment outside the hotel was dangerous with drunks and chavs hanging literally outside the door of the hotel there is no free parking you have to park in a multi storey car behind a different Travelodge and pay per hour to park there. Just a really bad hotel.
If I could give 0/5, I would. I was disrespected by a staff (Lorettawho spoke rudely to me when I asked for my refund of the breakfast cost since the hotel ran out of supplies on the morning of Thursday April 5th 2018. She was so dissociated from my concerns, she lacked empathy, compassion and courtesy. At a point she even asked me to shut up that I was raising my voice at her. I left to return to speak with a so called manager who excused her behavior with claims that respect was mutual. It was the height of an unfortunate experience.
Having previously given a 1/5 review for this hotel based on a very bad experience last year which was successfully resolved by the Travelodge complaints team, I decided to give the benefit of doubt and visit again and had a lovely stay and have decided to upgrade my review to 5/5. The hotel staff were really lovely and the accommodation was clean and modern. Would happily stay again based upon my recent stay experience.
I had terrible night yesterday. There was no water in the hotel for 2 nights and we transfer to another hotel. First day they gave a small bucket of water for brush and washing face. I get my room at 11:30 at night. I worked late and then I get this news. I was from stress and so worries. I moved from this total to 10 miles away and reach there at 12:00 am and couldnt get my sleep there as my room was pathetic. Bad smell in room and bed-sheet was torn and the bed was not comfortable at all. if they know that they need to transfer everyone they could have plan in advance but it was not done untill I reach there and asked them. She check availability after i get there and get response after an hour.I had same issue few week back with same hotel. There was no hot water and next day I get sick because of this. My client do my booking in this and I tried 2 different lodge and both are pathetic.Lift was not working for months and they always gave silly excuses. Other hotels lift stink so bad so no one want to take lift that why i change to other branch and had more issue with that. I thought new branch will be good as this was opened recently.
Just the most awful hotel accomodation that I ever had. We arrived on Tuesday night and we immediately found out there was no water in the bulding. They told us the issue would be fixed in the morning, so we slept there. The day after the issue wasnt fixed so they asked us to move to another Travelodge. We asked to get a refund but they said it was impossible because we hadnt booked through a FLEXIBLE tariff........They paid our cab up to this hotel 10 miles away, but we realized there were no more rooms available once we got there. They had made a mistake. It was 1 In the morning and we were still waiting for them to find another hotel room somewhere else. We asked to get back to the first hotel to get some sleep. The day after the problem wasnt fixed yet and they sent us to another Travelodge nearby.SIMPLY AWFUL.
Good central location about seven minutes walk from the railway station. Air conditioned rooms. A bar and restaurant on site but close to other amenities if you want to explore a bit. New shower facilities mean finally the shower head isnt fixed to the wall all in all ok for the price.
