Off the A1 road, this down-to-earth budget hotel is 5 miles from the Royal Air Force Museum and 9 miles from Wembley Stadium.Simply furnished rooms feature Wi-Fi access (free for 30 minutes), flat-screen TVs and desks, plus tea and coffeemaking facilities. Family rooms sleep up to 4 people. There's an informal restaurant with a bar. Parking and a breakfast buffet are available (surcharge).
Great rooms and comfortable
Room was poor and sheets dirty wouldnt returnPlease dont waste your money
Very friendly and helpful on reception
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, hands down.Staff are rude, key cards dont work, tables and chairs not cleaned and was ignored when I asked for them to be wiped down ..Room had a severe amount of Mold, on the ceilings, around the bath, on the floor ..Also worst bed I have ever slept in ...DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, GO ELSEWHERE
Not really worth the money. The rooms felt and looked basic for the price. Had a thin sheet as a duvet instead of an actual duvet.Could be much better given there is a Premier Inn across the street with comfier beds.
Seems to be hit and miss on the service you receive, I had a pleasant experience with a great member of staff but my colleague had the opposite where he was just thrown his room card and that was it.
No air con in room the fan was very noisy the room was like an oven
Cheap...and you get what you pay for. Parking isnt free. £4 a night and you need to register on an app to pay it. The staff were totally uninterested in providing a decent service. No soap in the bathroom, only one towel for our double room and the bedside lighting wasnt fit for purpose
Great travel lodge, nice room, great breakfast, lovely staff.
Not bad for a travelodge, you may have to wait for service at reception or the bar. Be prepared to be bilingual because some of the staff have problems with the English language.
If you have a van, avoid at all costs. Thieves attempted to break into my van and failed but they broke into the one next to me and stole about £12k worth of tools. IN DAYLIGHT! They refused to give out CCTV
Firm booked wrong night as I turned up prepared to pay for the extra spoke to the mangar and they hD a room spare then spoke to the hotel reservation team and they told me they couldnt do it have been using travel lodge for years will think twice about booking in the future
An ideal location just off the A1 / M25(Jct23), colocated with a BP / M&S petrol station.Parking is available at a cost.As expected with Travel Lodge the bedrooms/bathrooms are basic in naturegiven the price advertised, Borehamwoods are comfortable, clean and spacious with beds that provide a good nights sleep🙂.On this visit (30Jul2022we had a family room (307).Crucially this location has a welcoming and accommodating staff (considering staff issues we are all experiencingstill endeavour to deliver to their customers which makes the place tick👍.A bar / restaurant facility is available providing a reasonable selection of beverages and meals, note with in a 15 minute walk Borehamwood town Centreoffers a wide variety of eateries to suit every taste. We have stayed at this location several times and would gladly again!
For a Budget hotel it was ok the room was clean the bathroom could do with a upgrade some rust in places toilet was low down in our room had to hold on to door handle to lower myself and to raise due to back problem the room had a mouldy smell and because the weather was hot it just didnt go away despite using air freshner spray and scented candles, theres a reception bar and restaurant ate at the restaurant once had prawn linguine and crunchy slaw the linguine was bland the slaw was rancid full of vinegar no other dressing I would not eat there again if I went back there are 2 lifts to all floors the hotel was clean tidy and quiet there are vending machines on the ground floor a petrol station next to the hotel with M&S food you are not to far from local shops and Elstree studios. I would stay there again for a budget hotel it is ok.
Theres basic service, then theres just not doing the essentials. Theres no air con, no plugs by the bed, nowhere to unpack anything or even put your suitcase except the floor...Ladies on reception trying to be helpful but not great experience overall
Great place close to town good bar
Adequate, comfortable. Tad noisy, then there were fireworks....at 3am! Overall ok
Paid for 2 nights in a double room. They gave me a room with 2 single beds they dont stay together and refused me any refund even though they confirmed I paid for a double room for 2 nights!!
Its too warm at night then early morning annoying sounds of construction terrible. Staff fine
Normal cheap city hotel opposite Sky Studios construction site. Now housing homeless on one part and a variety of construction workers on the other. Staff nice enough but dont approve of the ladies working there trying to chat up my black husband!!!
We stopped 2 nights of 28/29 May at a cost of £263. Use of the hotel car park was a further £8.25 for the duration. Room was a good size but did have a smell of stale smoke. The toilet handle was loose and difficult to flush. The bathroom tiles needed a deep clean. On the final morning at 9.30 the ‘Unlimited’ breakfast was limited and at no time was there a full choice until just before 10am when other staff were arriving. Our breakfast table was very wobbly and menus were being used under the table legs. The coffee machine was out of order both days of our stay so we had instant via a kettle which wasn’t kept topped up with water. The orange juice from the machine was curdled and a banana we had was brown when peeled. On our last evening, the bar was closed for at least an hour at about 11pm to enable staff to prepare rooms for the following day, we were told. It is a half hour walk into Boreham wood to the Thameslink. We discovered that a taxi would cost about £4.50. All in all, we would not stop here again.
Hotel could do with a bit of TLC.TV 📺 in rooms doesnt always work I also heard another man complain to reception about this issue !!No air conditioning in rooms or fridge. Theres only a shower in the bathroom without bath. Housekeeping staff are rather noisy with regards to playing the radio at 10am and woke myself and my boyfriend. On a positive note reception are very helpful and friendly 😊.
A nice clean room at a good price.Breakfast was good. Unlimited food & drink for £8.99
Was here from 19/04 untill 26/04 visiting family. I didnt get the names unfortunately, but the lady with glasses and blonde hair who works nights weekdays and also the short room service lady (about the liftI spoke to were very helpful. No complaints and great value for money
We booked this hotel for 2 nights but we checked out after one night losing money for one night stay and not feeling well due to being under-rest. We booked for 2 adults and 2 children. The had one small bed (suitable for 1 adult and 1 childand one very small single flimsy makeshift bed which was not even sturdy. There was only 1 quilt provided so my husband slept without a quilt. Due to being so under-rest, we checked out the next day losing money for our 1 night stay feeling not well.We usually use Travelodge and find them good but this experience was not good at all. Lost our money for 1 night, felt extremely under-rest sleeping congested without quilt and had to change plans. Should not have booked 2 child and 2 adults if they didnt have a suitable room.Just want to mention that the lady on reception was extremely friendly.
Not the best Travelodge in London but definitely not the worst. Really nice rooms and a pretty decent location.
I drove past 3 times in the dark, as the sugn was not lit up, the ception area not as welcoming as premier inns, where i parked my car for free. Looked more like a school canteen, decided to get my breakfast at premier in as although 2 quid more, i could have LOADS, not impressed with size of tv screen by watching from the bed, it was tiny, not much of a view unless you like Elstree studios being built outside, will be staying at premier inn next time, easily my first choice x
Its a travelodge. By now you probably seen my reviews. A travelodge is a travelodge, they are budget rooms and budget prices. It 20 mins walk for sit down food if you dont want to eat there food. If your working nights theres a building site just across the road to keep you up all day.
Comfy nights sleeps at reasonable prices for the night. Only downsides were you have to pay for parking and the shower tray overflowed.
Staying for 3 nights as working near by,went down for few drinks at the bar.Staff Carly and Brook on duty at the time we’re very friendly and attentive so will definitely be back when in area again. Thanks!
Based on multiple times staying in this hotel recently. I am a contractor working nearby and the accommodation was booked for me. Parking is £4 per day but spaces are very limited and there is little cctv. Petrol station next door is ideal. Usual travel lodge menu for food, not a massive range of options and the burgers always seem to be zapped in a microwave. I found the staff here particularly rude and seem to carry an attitude, almost like they are ready for an argument. I witnessed several disagreements with customers, always ending in the staff saying that they will not be letting the customer stay in the hotel again.I will try the premier inn across the road next time.
Staff very kind but room was very cold I had to sleep in a winter jumper. Sink tap was faulty, TV did not work. Was moved into another room and that was even colder then the room aka fridge I was in. Paid parking is a sham for hotel guest. Its a bit of a old travel lodge to be honest. Better to pay a £5 more stay at the premier or Ibis.
The room was ok, but was grubby… hadn’t been hoovered, sticky substances in the mugs, pubic hair in the shower and no bath mat.We left the sign out the next morning asking for fresh towels, which weren’t given to us. We were at the end of the corridor and my relatives further up had their towels replaced, so it would seem that housekeeping simply couldn’t be bothered to walk a few more meters to our room. The lack of cleaning was a little concerning, especially considering covid. The hand sanitiser pumps remained empty for the duration of our stay. The cleaning just isn’t up to an acceptable standard and we heard the breakfasts are disappointing, so we chose not to waste our money there.I’d not recommend this hotel, we stayed here for a family funeral and with several other issues faced by relatives staying here, it just gave us hassle we didn’t need.
Expensive parking, unfriendly staff and noisy due to proximity to several roads.Good rates advertised but they made up for that with the parking charges. The room itself was fine but the road noise starts early in the morning so would not stay at this location again.
Came with my boyfriend who booked it. It was an easy checking in and out process, comfortable beds and not noisy at all! Really good nights sleep.
The receptionist was lovely. She sorted out our rooms so the family was grouped together and then later helped with a wifi situation brilliantly done. However the stained bed sheets, the blinds that werent fully put up and the shower which couldnt decide on its temperature as well as having some ants made the place a little less than desirable
Hotel adjacent to a building site. Parking is chargeable and much of the carpark floods in heavy rain. Check in was a nightmare due to untrained staff member who was totally lost re Covid laws. Food was bordering on innedible. I would never stay at this location again yet overall I find Travelodge very good.
One of the cheapest hotels within the area. Neither good, nor bad. Customer service 4/5, staff were helpful and friendly, cleanliness of rooms 2/5, dust found on TV, bathroom floor was sticky, the provided cups had something sticky and horrible at the bottom of the mugs and the mugs were facing upwards collecting a good amount of dust. Location 4/5, great location, selection of food and takeaways nearby, you have Warner brothers a short distance away. However there is some construction going nearby at the moment, so there will be some noise in the day.You get what you are paid for at this hotel. If you want affordable rooms, then this is the place to go. The hotel doesnt offer much. I would only recommend this hotel if you are working on a budget and only use it for the beds and the roof over your head.
Four stars for staff friendliness and going the extra mile. Tana was more than helpful getting right room and assisted with bags...never happened before in a Travelodge!
Our wedding night stay was ok but no beds made or towels changed my parner told them that someone else would be staying the room nothing was cleaned no bed changed no towels they made the excuse of covis charged for car park no soap in the rooms nothing all bare
The worst Travelodge that I have stayed in. Small room, small TV with appalling sound, and poorly fitting window which let in road noise. Will not be using this hotel again. The parking is expensive too, £4 per night after discount, which is more than the Premier Inn opposite if you pay by app.
It was a good experience to stay there last night. Located close to Borehamwood High Street, next to the new site for Elstree Studios, the hotel offers a bar, breakfast and car parking (£4 per night extra). My room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant. Good value for money. Overall, recommended!
I stay in Travelodge hotels from Glasgow to Bristol for work. After a long week I love to come to the Boreham wood branch.Maria (my favourite),Paulina and Teresa always remember me, always make me feel like I’m coming home 🤗.They truly are an asset to the Travelodge company. It’s always immaculately clean, which in this time of Covid is a great comfort. Maria in housekeeping is always happy to give fresh bedding and run the hoover over when my room isn’t even due to be done. I love this branch, not for location but for the staff. They are why I always book this particular Travelodge when I return to London. Book it, you won’t regret it, I promise. I hope that the company appreciate what a fantastic team that they have because I know that I appreciate them after a long week.
The Welcome is warm, friendly and very helpful. Receptionist Marila is extremely caring and pleasant. I enjoyed staying there with my little dog Cariad ( all staff loved herEasy for my work location. I am looking forward to coming back next week . Thank you very much for making my stay comfortable and pleasant . Room was clean, quiet and everything there that I needed. x
couldn’t do enough! The value for money was superb! From the manger Helen too the staff andrina and Anna if I remembered the names correctly! Rooms basic but bed comfy and room clean. Parking is only £4 for 24 hours. Overall I think the staff make this hotel and would defiantly stay again
Arrived 11.00 pm late. We parked right by the front entrance. The male receptionist was very polite and very helpful. He helped us to our two rooms. One room was for disabled easy access “brilliant “. Both rooms were nicely furnished, comfy beds and spotlessly clean. A lovely welcome. An excellent flat screen smart tv with a brilliant picture. All of the staff at breakfast we’re very helpful and polite. A lovely full English breakfast. Would definitely visit again and highly recommend. 😁👍
It is clean & tidy. The breakfast on offer, although freshly prepared, was average, not wowed by it. In fact I was glad I had my own tea bags. The ones on offer are poor quality. The day we were leaving a lift door was broke. This was reported, but no sign of any sort was near, thus making a risk to public.
A very basic hotel. The hotel itself is located in a very "rural" sort of area with no shops or places to see. It is however close to the Harry Potter studios. I do not recommend this hotel to people who wish to travel to Central London. The room I got in to was decent. Basic amenities were provided (towels, tissues, soap etchowever one of our reading lights was broken and the usual bottle opener was missing from the table. The overall cleanliness was satisfactory. The staff were friendly and helpful.Note that there is no AC in the rooms. There is a fan provided.
It is fairly cheap and the basic amenities, like the beds and shower are fine. Two aspects really let this hotel down. Parking is not free (£7 for a daywhich just adds to the cost of the stay. The Wifi is just appalling. I only paid £3 (which I feel is an unnecessary chargebut the thing kept dropping and reconnecting. If I am having to pay for it it should work.
Decent hotel for the price. Does all the basics. Unfortunately with the weather being rather warm, the rooms were extra hot. No air conditioning means you have to ask for a fan. We were fortunate to get the last fan so lucky to get some sleep otherwise I most definitely wouldnt have got any sleep. The showers are not at all powerful either.
