Travellers Motel - in Burns Lake, Canada
I come to burns lake all the time for work and have stayed at all the hotels here. I have to say the travellers is the best place to stay by far. The owners are very nice and very accommodating. Don’t have to worry about someone breaking into your vehicle or anything as you park right in front of your room. Rooms are comfortable and clean and all at a fair price. This is the first place I call every time I come to burns lake and I highly recommend it to others!
Stay Away! For travelers to Burns Lake, the Travelers Motel is a disaster. We reserved 2 rooms for 4 nights each for September 2022. We reserved in July and called to confirm 7 days in advance of our arrival. They had no record of our reservation, but said they could accommodate us, so I guaranteed again with a CC. When we arrived at the motel, not only did they deny our reservation, but the surly attendant ran us off the property with the help of a vicious dog. Welcome to Burns Lake, I thought! Is this a symptom of pipeline prosperity or just some greedy slum lord? Thank goodness, other establishments in Burns Lake were able to accommodate us at short notice. Never in my 30 years as a travelling sales person have I ever been denied a confirmed reservation. Until now!
Small little place but we were in a bind as the room we booked elsewhere wouldnt allow pets. The owner came through in a big way.
For the one night it was fine. When we went to check in, they didnt have record of my reservation but were able to give me a room anyway. They cleaned it fresh while we went to do some nature photos and gave me a deal to make up for losing my reservation.
This place and the managers are a nightmare on its own, RUDE as can be and the rooms are filthy dirty I had to bring cleaning supplies from home before I could use the bathroom and the mini fridge and microwave. Definitely NOT a good place to go
Not bad but the cutlery, the spoons were burnt
Excellent folks! The staff were not only friendly and lovely to talk to but they were also very accomodating for my needs. I was up there for work and they went out of their way to ensure i had everything I needed to get my job done. The room itself was tidy and the kitchenette was stocked with the essentials for a good ol fashion motel cook off. It is also worth noting they had an adorable dog named Jake that is very friendly and loves head scratches.I will certainly use travellers next time Im in Burns Lake.
Very friendly staff, the motel was not as luxurious as others but clean and quiet, but the four times I drove past over the next week (June 13 to June 19), the sign said "NO" vacancy or the parking lot looked quite full. Staff said that they are always busy and appear to hosting many contractors... so they have no worries.
The rooms were ok. It was a good place for resting. It seemed that some renos could help.
Hard to find a motel in Burns Lake...clean room and helpful people.
We rented two rooms, they where clean, comfortable and for the money, good. The attendant was friendly and helpful. The one room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke though
Clean and affordable room. I was most impressed by the proprietors integrity. I left my wallet behind in my room and they found it for me . I was so thankful.
Terrible wifi, they dont clean the rooms and over charge customers. Theft when they do enter the rooms. The owners are amazing the current managers need to be replaced. Till these things currently change there are better and safer places to stay. Enjoy the theft and overcharging.
Good price friendly staff was a bit cold in the room but it was -35 or better out side
This establishment is very racist, they turned my family and I away at a difficult time just because we are native. The Asian man at the front desk told us that “there is an aboriginal owned hotel nearby.” And refused to give us a room.I am absolutely appalled and disgusted at this persons behaviour, especially him being of a different ethnicity himself.Absolutely disgusting.
Fair priced, great folks run the place.great kitchenette.. Small towels... Clean and quiet
Nice place. Stayed in July 2015.
Not
Its good for the price.
This place is awesome. The room was clean and had a microwave/fridge. The owners are wonderful. And as far as I cam tell its the cheapest place in Burns Lake to stay. 100% great. Would always stay here if I came to town more. Good space in the room, And updated facilities.
Bedsheets had someone else hairs and bloodstains, as well as the pillows
Best motel in town. Friendly staff and homely stay.
