Great place in the heart of Lisbon. Our room was nice and tidy, the communal areas were all kept clean. Freshly made breakfast every morning with a choice of 3 options. The staff was chill and the whole vibe of the place was really pleasant. Well done!

Great experience staying at this hostel. The staff is amazing and you feel at home. Everything is kept clean and you get an amazing breakfast menu. The location is in the center and only minutes always from all the main spots. This hostel sets the bar high! Highly recommended!

The strongest sides are extremely pleasant and helpful staff (thanks a lot, guys, you are best!!! and very convenient, nearly perfect location. On the negative side, is quite poor atmosphere as well as facilities. Upon arrival, it showed itself that the shower on the floor, where I lived, was out of operation. And despite that a staff member said that it would have been repaired the next day, it actually never happened during the whole week. The room I had was quite worse than those advertised in the pictures.

The best hostel I ever stayed at. Great facilities, good all-around service & very friendly staff. For example, the furniture down to the bed frames feels too high quality for a hostel in this price range.Only caveat: if you are a very big person, the toilets & showers might be too cramped for your comfort.

The best hostel experience ever!! I have stayed in many hostels all over the world, yet nothing is close to this place. Many hostels have that hotel feelings: boring receptionist desk/ quite lobby. You barely meet other guests—isn’t it contradicting the reason behind why ppl choose hostel? However, staying at Travellers House feels like you are at your home. They have a super cozy living room; breakfast is included (they even have cooks to make you omelettes or crepes.)They also trust the guests so much, i.e. they wont ask for any payments until the end. You can grab beers or signing up for night events and pay them at the end. As well, they host cool activities; pub crawl, Fado tasting, and night buffets (the cost for these are so cheap.)Lastly, the staffs are so friendly, they would hangout with the guests casually. :)

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! Right off the bat Joao made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The whole house and staff made it feel warm and inviting. Anything you need or any information they would provide easily. I would recommend getting involved with the evening events they hold! Bar crawl was very fun!! Very good breakfast, felt very clean even with the shared showers/bathrooms. Laundry services available as well. New towels everyday if needed! Great location and the balcony views are great especially with the city performing buskers! Would definitely stay again!

Best hostel during my 3 weeks travel through portugal. Great breakfast. Staff always ready to help. Thank you so much for your help with my lost luggage. Thanks Jaò for the wonderful places you have recommended to me, Slentejano and Costa Vicentina wouldnt be so perfect without your advice.

They wouldnt allow a friend to share a private room with a double bed, claiming the hostel was "full" (how does that make any sense??and even declining after offering to pay more. For 40+ euros a night, you are better off in an Airbnb or hotel where 2 guests per room is not only allowed but the norm.

We didnt stay here but friends did and the staff not only let us stay and chill a lot in the common room but we were able to do a fado tour organised by the hostel. The manager João also has an in depth knowledge of India.

This hostel is just amazing, the staff is incredible. We traveled with a baby and they provided us with a crib, changed our room to be in the first floor, and checked us in early so we could rest. João was the best host that we could ask for. As knowledgeable and charming as it gets. And the location, wow.In summary, look no more if you are looking for a hostel in Lisbon. You have found the right one.

Great place to stay, staff was very friendly and they had excellent organized activities at night for the group. I would highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to Lisbon as it is in a great location to get to all parts of Lisbon & Portugal. The breakfast they offer in the morning was a good way to start the day and was included with the price of the stay.

Right in the city centre, spotless and superfriendly staff. We had a private room and were extremely happy with our stay. Breakfast (toast, eggs and bacon / pancakes / youghurtis included and was very decent as well.Only downside would be the noise and light. Again, youre right in the city centre... And well, you can hear that at night since the windows dont isolate that well. Our curtain was also a bit too short, so we had some light peeking through in the morning. But hey, if you bring earplugs and a sleeping mask: no harm done! All in a I would definitely advise you to stay here when youre in Lisbon. They really make you feel welcome!

Fantastic hostel. Stayed here whilst on a tour of Portugal. Great experience, would recommend strongly for anyone seeking a centrally located spot in Lisbon to stay. The strongest element of their offer must be the social side of the hostel. I took a tour of Barrio Alto which included going to see a Fado show. Brilliant staff, super knowledgeable and would book again.

Travellers hostel review:As my last city “in europe” of my trip let me just say WOW. What an outstanding hostel. It beats the 25+ other hostels I’ve stayed in on Europe on my trip.Location is perfect. Right in the hustle and bustle, lots of restaurants and all the shopping you could ask for at your door. The hostel manager Alex, went above and beyond to make my 5 night stay memorable. He spent a lot of time with me explaining the history of Lisbon, different areas I should visit and where the best vegetarian restaurants are! I took his recommendations and had a great time in Lisbon. The kitchen is open 24hrs. (Note: there is no oventea, coffee and milk is available at all hours. The breakfast.... well it is exceptional. You have three options for breakfast (including one being bacon and eggswhich is served to you and after, the staff will clean your crockery and cutlery. The rooms are GREAT. Air-conditioning, power boards, huge under bed storage with free padlock and key.The WIFI actually works here! I could watch episodes of Netflix and upload my photos from the day online with no troubles or buffering! Each night the hostel has something on. Last night was Portuguese night, which was €7.50 for all you can eat and all you can drink wine!!The hostel sells water, bottles of beer and coke for only €1.50!! It’s nice to see a hostel not overcharging for beer!

Probably the best hostel in the centre of Lisbon. Thats why it is so hard to find accomodation here in summer. The breakfast which is included (not so typical of hostels!is fantastic, the women who cook it are very friendly. All the staff is actually friendly and helpful, every day there is an organized excursion, often around the party area of Lisbon, in a pub-crawling style, that is a remarkable experience if you are interested in such a stuff! The rooms are clean as well as bathrooms. Bathrooms are not spacious, but the cabins have massive heavy doors, so its ok in terms of privacy.Firmly recommend! Hope to come back as many times as its possible!

This is the best hostel i have stayed at yet. Good location, Good Wifi, Friendly Staff, and Very Clean. My only real complaint is the lockers were not super secure (you could probably break into them if you wanted toLittle on the expensive side for a hostel but fairly comparible price wise to others near by. Breakfast was good but small.

I can only say that my experience at Travellers House was second to none. From the moment we arrived we were treated fantastically with the front desk staff making us feel instantly at home (they even remembered our names which is a rare but welcome gesture for hostels). The hostel has a very central location, easy access to transport and sights, a relaxed atmosphere and a wide variety of evening activities (Id highly recommend joining in on the fado/alfama tour). And to top it off, you receive a three complimentary options for breakfast making the whole package very good value. Easily one of the best hostels Ive visited, do not hesitate to book!

I stayed here for 3 nights in August. As soon as I arrived Joao made me feel welcomed, got some coffee in me and even got me onto the Sintra tour which had already left. Rooms were clean and large, beds comfy and new. Each room had an air-conditioning unit and a ceiling fan. Bathrooms were large and never busy. Wifi was plenty fast and the atmosphere in the lounge was warm and welcoming. 24 hour reception provides security and service at all hours. Truly a world class hostel/guest house. I will be back without a doubt. Cheers

My stay at Travellers House was fantastic. The hostel was luxurious, affordable and well located. I met people from all over the world of all different ages. Each night they had different activities. One night we had a traditional portugese feast that was excellent. However, the highlight of my experience was meeting the staff. Joao, the manager of the hostel, always took the time to entertain guests and teach them about Lisbon and Portugese culture. At night, Nassir was also an excellent host. He was always willing to hang out with guests, no matter the time. He also recommended that we visit Oriente, which was fantastic. Overall, this was a great experience.

Best Hostel ever! The personal is really friendly and even helped us out with sunmilk, when i had slight sunburn. The rooms and beds were clean, just as the rest of the hostel itself. A living room for encounters and a fully functional kitchen can be used by everybody at every time. Different activities every evening (starting at ~9-10pmlet you enjoy portugese food/drinks/culture and are led by the personal, who are familier to the urban lisbon. Breakfast is included and freshly made by some friendly ladies in fronmt of you eyes (u can choose between 3 meals). The location is just as central as shown on google maps. Perfect 5/5

Amazing hostel! Im glad I didnt come here as my first hostel, or my scale of whats normal would be completely off. They give everyone a locker, lock, safe, and towel. They have fantastic activities planned every night that are meant to give you a taste of Portuguese culture. The employees are also incredibly friendly, going the extra mile to get to know you and get the guests to become friends.

I had a very positive experience staying at Travellers House during my trip in February. I stayed in one of their twin bedrooms with a shared bath, and both were very clean, comfortable and well-maintained. The front-desk was always helpful and well informed about what to do around the city. Didnt do anything of the hostel sponsored tours, but I was impressed by the amount of activities they planned for their guests. The location cant be beat. The street is busy and a little bit noisy during the day, but personally that just added to the ambiance of the city and it was very cool. Its a quick walk to just about anything you would want: restaurants, bars, trams, trains, etc.Would highly recomend this to anyone.

The atmosphere of the Hostel is very fun and relaxed. All the staff are helpful and there is a different activity every night, that that stars on the hostel and goes somewhere with lots of information and local curios. I did the crawl bar in Bairro Alto and a Fado Night which was super!Stayed 2 nights in a double room, the room was spotless, had a safe with password, was very spacious and a very good bed! Bathrooms are shared with rooms on the same floor and separated from the male and female. The social areas (main hall, TV room and computer roomare comfortable and beautiful, kitchen is fully equipped and is at guests disposal, as is a refrigerator! The location is great, in the center of Lisbon, just a few blocks from Baixa/Chiado station and Praça do Comércio. It is possible that all the sights of the center walk, but there are also several bus and tram stops very close to the hostel.Highly recommend and I hope to return to Lisbon and stay at Travelers House again!

The hostel itself is nice, they have a good common area kitchen and TV room. The staff is nice but inattentive. We ended up with two main complaints, one is that to get into the hostel you have to be buzzed in by the staff - one night my friend and I were coming back late to the hostel and found that there was suddenly no staff to buzz us into the hostel, we ended up waiting for nearly ten minutes the whole time being harassed by street people trying to sell us drugs. Finally a guest heard the buzzer and came down to let us in. The second problem, and the main one, was the sleeping accommodations. The building is fairly old which adds to the charm but the rooms get blistering hot, there is an AC unit in the rooms but ours did not work. We asked the manager to fix it twice and both times he came back and said it was fixed but in reality it was not. It was nearly impossible to sleep with how hot the rooms got, especially when you add four guys all sweating through the night.Overall for the very high price of this hostel I can not recommend it, the lack of attention that is given by the staff is too much a problem, especial when it results in lack of sleep and inability to get into the hostel.

The vibe at the Travellers House was very laid back - tranquility in the center of the city. We booked a room with a private bath and were happy with the size and cleanliness of the room. The common areas and the breakfast were great. Unfortunately, we never had a chance to join any of the evening events but there was always something to do. Also, the staff were attentive, helpful, and provided great suggestions of places to see and restaurants. Hope to stay here again in the future!

I cannot recommend the hostel out of the following reasons:- Shared bathrooms not very clean- Stuff disappears from my room- partly unfriendly personalNot worth the Money. I booked the Hostel because it is supposed to be one of the older hostels in Lisbon with a good reputation. Sadly, I cannot confirm the reputation entirely. After the first night the cleaning team made my bad and my lock, several coins and one of my lenses caps I placed under the pillow where gone after wards. I consider it quite likely that those items ended up in the washing machine. When I talked to the guy at the reception she said they would check for those items and that they would check for them. When I check out I asked again if the stuff would have found some of my stuff which went missing and the woman which where occupying the reception was totally going nuts. She said how offending is from me to say someone stole my stuff. Actually I never said it in those words because I wanted to be polite and after all it was quite likely that they did not see it and put it with the sheets in the washing machine.Anyway, I do not expect hostel personal to be as professional as proper-trained stuff but at least they should be friendly to their customers.

It was the best hostel in the world for two years in a row, and once youre staying there you really understand why! Both Service and acommodation are first rate compared to most hostels, not to mention the great location, close to many attractions and public transportation hubs and stops! At evenings they give parties or arrange some outdoors activities like visiting some bars in Bairro Alto, a major nearby spot for drinking/clubbing.
