Nice Trattoria in Bologna.We had tortellini in brodo and meatballs, everything was really tasty and balanced.Staff is friendly and the place really cozy.

Very lovely place. They were fully booked but could fit me in quickly, which I love when a restaurant goes to that extra bit of trouble. Lovely meal and atmosphere

Food is acceptable.Not very wow. A very simple meal. Taste is very 1 dimensional. Price is good.Had other nicer pastas but not sure if this is the local flavor.

Molto bene & delicioso!! Came on a Tues night as they opened. Kind restaurant accommodated me outside, as I asked, and had a WONDERFUL meal at a local trattoria!! Great food, kind service & terrific local, Italian experience!! Highly recommend the caprese & tortellini al brodo!! Very efficient & kind service!! Terrifico!!

Very cozy restaurant and location. The food was really good. We had the tagliatelle and tortelloni that we definitely recommend.The waitress was also very kind and helpful 😊

THE BEST! authentic family atmosphere with the best food! We loved the house wine and the lasagna! Also loved the cutlet bolognese! We loved it so much we went back again before leaving Bologna. Make sure to make a reservation so you don’t miss out!

Outstanding! I have traveled the world, was just in Italy for 10+ days eating at the best restaurants, and this one truly makes it to the top of the list. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is very cozy and authentic, and last but certainly not least, the food is amazing. A must-visit if you’re in Bologna!

I have eaten at restaurants and taverns all around Europe. I can definitely say that this managed to create a truly traditional vibe. The staff was incredible and even though they were busy they would always pay attention to you. The vibe of the place took me back to those old Italian movies I used to watch on Tv. Both red and white wine were delicious . The food I would rate it 8/10. But that is not a negative thing. Everything is done by them with extreme care and it cant get more authentic than this. I know there are a lot of options but trust me , its all worth it . It can get very busy so make sure you make a reservation. And enjoy the experience of course ☺️

Outstanding! Thats the only word I can think of!The hostess was incredibly welcoming and friendly. We had 8 (plus a childand they treated us like family (we are Canadians, BTW).The appetizers were incredible - the charcuterie was delicious, and you must get the Pecorino with honey!But then came the pasta courses, and each one was equally incomparable. Throughout the evening, we each took a bite of one anothers meal - the lasagna, the bolognese, the tortellini - and each time we groaned in delight! The food was truly glorious, and you could tell it was the genuine thing!The ambiance accented the meal perfectly, and the table wine itself was incredible!Please, please, come here if you visit the city. You will not be disappointed! This was one of the best, if not the best, meal we had in Bologna.

A not-to-miss trattoria in Bologna and better reserve before

Trattoria Valerio is a gem in Bologna. Upon arriving in town, we asked and were recommended by our hotel staff to come here for dinner.This family run restaurant offers traditional local cuisine including pasta bolognese, parmesan cheese, proscuitto meat, and salad with balsamic vinegar which all originated in this area. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food in this setting.The owners didnt speak much English but were very kind & patient, even taking photo for us in their cozy restaurant. Interestingly, the walls were filled with picture frames depicting towers that once filled this town.

Amazing , accessible, calm place a little farther from city’s center. Excellent bolognaise cuisine. 100% recommendation from more than 100 years

The restaurant has a good ambience and its a nice spot to have a quiet dinner. The tagliatelle al ragu and tortelloni en brodo were delicious however the second course was a big disappointment. We ordered the roasted potatoes which were clearly reheated and refried from perhaps a day or two ago and the quality of the cotolleta alla bolognese was nothing special. The service was attentive and kind.

Fantastic service and food on our last day in Bologne (and Italyafter a week of travelling. Amazing Ragu, Lasagna and wine and the atmosphere very cozy and typical as well. Highly recommended!!! 😊😊

So small I almost missed it. So good I already miss it.I was on my way to another restaurant when this restaurant crossed my path. I was immediately sold. The food is really traditional, reasonably priced and above all delicious. I had the tortellini en brodo and as dessert the mascarpone di papa. Especially the last one was marvelous. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is real Italian, romantic and smooth.

Great quiet and intimate place to enjoy traditional food from Bologna. The restaurant is a family business started in 1898 and the food is just incredible. I had some fantastic Lasagne followed by a perfectly balanced Mascarpone cream. If you are looking for a place where you can try amazing fresh pasta and traditional dishes in a cozy atmosphere this is the place to go!

Small menu, family owned, delicious home pasta, made with love and family recipes. would have loved to add photos but it was too good to stop ... Service is very good, warm and prices are pretty decent. Support locals and come here! You will end up charmed and writing a nice comment like me me ;).

Exactly what i was looking for...local , simple, tasty....and cheap!!..i had meat broth with homemade tortellini and the sausages...guys dont expect anything fancy here. Simple dishes but made with passion ...this is simply nonna s food...food for the soul...really nice tipical bolognese cuisine!

Tortellini eccelllenti , ( ovviamente in brodo very fine food of the tradition in a very easy place of great tradition. Perfect if you want to taste genuine Bologna food as it was in grandmothers time.

Cosy little restaurant that was established since 1898. Dining in the restaurant brings you back in time, with the old school interior design and pictures from the past. And also the food, so local that you can feel the warmth of a home cooked food that pairs with the welcoming smile of the owner. Make sure you make reservation and be there on time!

The food is hands down the best Bolognese food Ive eaten in almost 6 years since Ive been in Italy. Atmosphere wise is very traditional. If youre going with a small baby that needs a highchair make sure you bring your portable one as the one that they have is too big for small babies.

Visiting Bologna with my family, from US. Our efforts to search out authentic local cuisine paid off. Delicious appetizers, main dishes & deserts. With teenagers and a nine year old it’s rare to eat out and have us all agree. You know it’s good food when the kids are silent. We’ll be back for more before we leave!

Great local restaurant that specialises in home cooking Bolognese style. Compact menu and straight forward cooking. Its very reasonably priced and been operated by the same family for nearly 120 years so that alone is impressive. Both the manager and the cook were charming and friendly and you feel like you are eating at someones home especially when the cook brings the dishes to the table straight from the kitchen. I recommend the pasta dishes which were great. Not a lot in terms of meat dishes, the one we tried was fried pork which was not that great. Stick to pasta and enjoy the wine and the lovely atmosphere. Its a charming restaurant.

Lovely small trattoria with wonderful service. Food was excellent (we had first shared plate of zucchini, parmesan and balsamico and after that different tortellinis, hand made I thinkand price was low. You really want to leave the main roads and find this place.

Is there a place where pasta tastes like heaven? Yes!! And you found it! This small family italian restaurant offers such delicious meals, their homemade pasta is unforgettable, so the desserts. Grazie mille and I will definitely come back again :)
