Trattoria Romana Zero Sei - Italian restaurant in Qormi, Malta
Probably the best pasta I’ve ever had, the fettuccine ragu. The inside ambience is really great also. Prices don’t break the bank by any means, $15 or so for a plate of pasta.
Absolutely amazing pasta. Staff was so genuinely nice and friendly, I was here twice on a 5 day trip to Malta and I dont regret it.Cannot recommend enough.
The cabonara and bolognese is fantastic, giving this Asian a whole new different experience about pasta. Explosive taste with fine seasoning
I came by around 6pm in search of a quick dish before I had to be somewhere 45 mins later. They cooked up the best ragu I’ve ever had, in less than 15 minutes. They said it was gonna take 15-20 mins, so clever of them to be pessimistic rather than optimistic about the time. Super quick, very tasty & brilliant service. Thank you! Will def be back again!
They say it’s the best Carbonara in Malta but I respectfully disagree. It didn’t have proper yolk in the texture of the meal. The bacons were not crispy. They were full of fat. We also had CACIO E PEPE WITH TRUFFLE. The truffle taste was very little. Instead it was full of cheese. Extraordinarily added cheese. I know better pasta places in Malta 🇲🇹 The staff was helpful but they are very disorganized. They made some mistakes with our reservation but eventually it was resolved. I really had high hopes for this place but unfortunately it didn’t fulfill my expectations. Sorry. If you’re looking for a Carbonara place, try Marabbio from Sliema. You’ll not be disappointed!!
Exceptionally good Italian trattoria in a vibey part of Valletta. The atmosphere and service is good but its the food that makes it - simple dishes but incredibly delicious. The Parmigiana and Padana Romana were moreish, the Cacio e Pepe brilliantly done.
This place is the place to go for authentic pasta. It’s heaven on earth. We went there twice during our 7 days vacation and it’s only because we wanted to be reasonable but we should have gone everyday. Give the Tagliatelle al Ragu a try. Staff is FANTASTIC
We eat gnocchi, pasta and lasagna. One friend threw up after lunch. Others were good. Food was really delicious
I cannot believe how horrible my carbonara was. As a chef myself I know the sauce was 100% premade. You can tell this because the consistency of it is thick and unachievable with just cheese, egg and pasta water. Also, if the only elements that bring salt to the dish are sprinkled on top( the cheese and the pork product), you’re not doing your job well. The pasta itself wasn’t fresh and crunchy which means it’s not fresh. Such a shameful meal that was hyped up to be great. Definitely the worst part of Malta for me. I know the owner of the place will respond to this review with something witty and rude but maybe they should reevaluate their food and actually put a decent carbonara on the menu.
Such a great pasta! As well the tiramisu (normal and pistaccioand the white house wine were really good. We had a perfect evening.
It was a bit of a shame that pretty good food was served by a waiter in gym shorts, t-shirt and trainers who was chewing gum. Everyone also had to sit outside although the restaurant was empty. Call me old fashioned.
Pasta carbonada is 10/10And the italian beer is my new top 10Top service, nice staff.
Pros: food is great and reasonably priced.Cons: the main waiter/owner is very stubborn - he literally wouldn’t let my wife get the dish she wanted because he insisted on the “best” dishes (and then she didn’t end up liking it- I also tried to get two mains at the same time, gnocchi and steak, and he insisted that he would bring me one at a time even though I asked 5 times to be same time. He ended up bringing me the steak when everyone else was done with their food and it was awkward. Was very annoying.Maybe I should have insisted he use some deodorant! HahahaNo air conditioning
Soo good! Amazing food, friendly staff. Get the lasagna!
This place is great! Stuff is friendly, food is amazing. We liked grilled cheese with honey for starter a lot.
Legit Italian taste experience. Killer carbonara!
Delicious food. Nice and friendly people.
An amazing location and great tasting food.It felt like we were sitting for dinner in the back streets of an cosy Italian street.Highly recommend this place for great tasting food.Just perfect.
Simple, well-executed Roman food in the heart of Malta. This is classic casual Italian at a reasonable price - simple, traditional, and well-cooked - the pasta was al dente and the sauces were balanced. In the amatriciana, which I thought was very well executed, the guanciale was properly rendered with good balance of tomato and pecorino. My cacio pepe couldve maybe done with a touch more pepper, but thats personal preference. There was a blackout as we finished, and I watched the staff rally together to contact each table that had a booking to notify them and try to recommend other restaurants to go to instead.I note that we arrived at the nonna and bambino time of 7pm, but they were already almost fully booked. If youre set on eating here, go early or call ahead to reserve a table.
This place was ok although the food quality did not live up to the rating unfortunately and I found it overpriced. The steak was cut prior to being served and became quite dry by the time it was served. Aside from the food, the restaurant is in a typical lovely small street of Valletta which was nice with a sea breeze.
Delicious food! For starter we tried grilled pecorino with honey and pistachios - very tasty! Then both pastas we decided on were amazing: carbonara and special of the day (tagliatelle with zucchini and pork cheek). The staff were friendly as well. Totally recommended!
Best Carbonara in Malta. Highly recommend the place, great staff and a stocked wine cellar.
We arrived at 1 pm for lunch. We politely asked the waitress if we could eat for 8 people, she replied that they were fully booked and we told her that we didnt mind waiting to eat. In a very rude manner she continued to reply no. It is not worth going there at all. Very very unpleasant people. I have never been treated like that in any restaurant before. A real shame.
Very busy, you need to book. Pasta was nice as staff were friendly
Very authentic Italian food. One of the best carbonara I ever had with fresh truffle and bolognese sauce is really amazing too. Highly recommend when visiting Valletta!
antastic food, beer and wine! Very nice staff. Some of the best pasta I have ever tasted. Would probably order an appetizer if you are very hungry, or you have room for dessert! Will be back next time I visit Malta!
Awesome! Worth every penny. Try grilled peccorino cheese with honey and pears!Tiramisu with pistaccio is also very delicious.
Fantastic pasta to start - can strongly recommend the cacio e pepe. Main courses were still delightful, but I would suggest a pasta over a main. The mains do have a wide variety of veal if that’s your jam. Lovely service and very tasty yet affordable wine
Lovely italian restaurant with fresh home made pasta. A bit on the expensive side if you eat more than just a portion of pasta (relatively small portions, not enough to share). Menu has a limited choice of starters, pasta, mains & desserts but its all delicious.
Lovely little gem in Valetta.Fast and friendly service with fabulous food. Portions are bigger than usual with well prepared dishes. Will definitely go back and recommend it to anyone that loves Italian food
I had the pleasure to taste their amazing food and especially their carbonara which is very delicious. The staff was very kind and professional. In particular Rosita which is a mix of professionalism and kindness. Extremely happy about my experience and looking forward to seeing you soon.
We went to this restaurant because reviews mentioned gluten free pasta. They weren’t on the menu, though, so I had to ask the waitress. She asked me if I have celiacs or an allergy. I confirmed with her that they cook the pasta in separate water. I ordered gluten free arrabbiata pasta and it was fine. My friend got the caprese salad and said it was fine as well. Our server was really nice but the service was very slow. Overall I’d say it was good, slightly pricey food, in a very convenient location.
Amazing little find. We didnt book but they found a table. The food was amazing. We left full of cheesy pasta goodness. Staff were great too. Reasonably priced with mains around 15 euro for pasta and 20 for a meat dish. We had antipasti and primary and was stuffed.
Reasonably priced, extremely delicious and authentic Italian food. The pasta dishes are to die for! Weve tried the carbonara, gnocchi Alla sorrentina, amatriciana and cacio e pepe dishes. The staff is very friendly and helpful ... I definitely recommend this place!
Damn good carbonara & cacio e pepe! All starters are also really to recommend! We arrived a bit late but were treated really great! Waiters and stuff are super friendly and helpful! We are coming back soon! 👍🏽
Absolutely fantastic Carbonara - among the best I have eaten...Visiting Malta as a tourist, I chose to dine in hear after hearing a lot about its carbonara. For €12, its really incredible. The interiors of the restaurant are quite good, especially the wine cellar which has a good collection of wines. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Trattoria Romana Zero Sei offers excellent Roman-Italian food, but beware of poor serviceN35°54.005 E14°30.719 the website and staff at this Roman-Italian restaurant in Valletta firmly believe that they serve the best Italian food. They shout about it. They even tell you what to order: carbonara! Reserving a table inside is mandatory.Luckily, in October 2021, was had made a reservation to avoid the windy outdoor tables. The restaurant had four separate dinning rooms. We chose to sit in the first one. We ordered grilled pecorino Romano (€10and Caprese salad (€10as starters. Both were excellent starters. The Caprese salad was delicious. As main courses, we did not order the cabonara but Cacio e Pepe (€11and Special del giorno (€13). Again, the chef in the kitchen upstairs prepared very tasty dishes. Caelles, Syrah 2015 Firriato red wine from the cellar was good. With Cannali Siciliani (€5.50and Tiramisu (€5), we concluded a very nice dinner. Unfortanate was the tasteless cappuccino, an insult to every Italian. So, what was wrong with Trattoria Romana Zero Sei: “Help wanted” sign on the restaurant window was an ominous sign for poor service: the three waiters could not cope. One operated the lift to the kitchen, one served the outdoor tables and one the inside tables. Too much work to handle and the waiter inside was not up to the task and forgot a lot. Restaurant service is a professional vocation and the inside waiter was clearly in the wrong profession.Trattoria Romana Zero Sei offers excellent Roman-Italian food, but beware of poor service. Recommended.
Cosy venue on good location. The menu sets very high standards for both service and food quality, however did not fully delivered. Staff was constantly rushing and running around with barely 3-4 tables were occupied where the actual service was slow at the same time. The complimentary serving was a few pieces of chese served in a not visually pleasant way. The carbonara I ordered had good taste and felt to be done in the traditional way, but was too salty for my preference. No one came to check up on us, if everything was fine with the food. Still a nice place to eat out when in Valletta, compared to the main tourist places and the prices were fair.
Amazing place with very tasty food and unbeatable, friendly service. We ate „Pasta Amatriciana“ and „Pasta Carbonara“! Both we’re absolutely delicious! In addition the prices are very fair. Perfect experience. We do recommend!
Absolutely brilliant food, proper wines to accompany every bite and the staff are super polite and welcoming. This is my favourite place to eat in Malta and the quality of food is on point.
The people working there are super nice! They organized a table for us in between reservations. The food is good, not extraordinary but a solid 4,5/5. Tasty carbonara, nice lasagne. Starters (supplì and zucchini flower pieswere OK but nothing special. Worth a visit though if youre looking for an honest Italian cuisine.
Best dinner I had in Malta. The steak was amazing, highly recommend going there. The service was really friendly as well. We called one hour before and checked if a table was available.
The staff is fantastic, especially Ms. Ana. Wonderful atmosphere and even better food. The picture shows veal with tomato sauce, simple but very delicious. This is the secret of true Italian cooking. Oh and great wines. Very good prices for dinner. I highly recommend this place.
Best Italian food Ive ever head, beautiful location, amazing staff, make sure you book in advance, as they had to send a load of people away due to being fully booked
Delicious pasta and very accommodating to food intolerances. I had gluten free pasta and asked for no dairy in the sauce and my server was more than happy to accommodate me. A popular place so Id consider booking next time.
The best italian restaurant outside of italy. I have never tasted a better pasta in my whole life. The staff is amazing and so nice
Amazing pasta! The best bolognese I have ever had! My daughter has the award winning carbonara and she let me have one bite 🥰 amazingly delicious. Service is impeccable! The pistachio tiramisu is a dream dessert. The spritzer they made (Prosecco and cherryso refreshingThe cod appetizer I wanted to eat 10 of!
Food in Malta is amazing and this place is the best example. Staff was attentive, wine was great and food from another world! ♥️Do make a reservation though, the place is very popular and can become quite busy or you might not get a table at all...
So, so good. We discovered it on our last night, otherwise would have loved to go again. Everything we ate was delicious. Especially recommend the melanzane parmigiana, the mushroom and truffle pasta, the amatriciana, and the pistachio tiramisu- yummmm. Service was super welcoming, friendly and efficient. Also enjoyed the Lisa Italian craft beer.
We ordered two pasta dishes, both were very delicious. We also ordered a burrata as a starter and tiramisu for dessert, everything was amazing. Not to forget that the service was perfect as well.
