EDIT: if I liked it the first time… I loved it the second time!! We’ll go back for sure!—We had a very pleasant evening.My mom came to visit and we went there with my husband. My mom and I are Italian and we like to try and eat in different places.We had three pizzas as me and my husband are vegetarian and there were not much choice for us.I have to say that the dough was excellent! It is very hard to find a well done dough for a pizza nowadays outside Italy. The texture was great and the crunchiness and flavor too.The staff was super friendly and polite.Recommend it.

I visited this place the first time 20 years ago... it was good then, and it is still just as good today - that should say something! If you are looking for some chic fine dining with bling bling, this is not your place, but if you are looking for cozy, warm welcoming place to have a meal, this establishment most definitely deserves a visit!If you have ever visited a proper trattoria in Italy, this place is pretty much the same, real, deal.

First time visiting after owner change and I just couldnt get pass the changes: no specialities on the walls, dull deco, more expencive...All the warmth had been taken away. Food was fine and so was the service, but even that cant make up loosing one of the cosiest restaurants in Turku. I still gave 3 stars for the effort, but doubt we ever go back.

Genuine italian food with a warm atmosphere. Strongly recommended to everyone who can appreciate real hand made food. Definitely not recommended for people that like to eat in restaurant chains.

First time I feel the pizzas was not great. The tomato sauce very watery and runny, the dough thick and not properly cooked through on one of the pizzas. Usually the food here is excellent.

Best italian food in the country...

So bad and dishonest! Really bad pizzas with low-quality ingredients and they charged 25 euros for a quattro formaggio pizza even though it clearly says on the menu that all portions are 15 euros. The waiter pretended not to hear us when we complained and did not return to our table until we had called on him four times to ask about the bill. The reason for the extraordinary price (more expensive than any pizza place you can find in Turkuhe gave us was that the pizza had "expensive ingredients". Even if this was the case, which I doubt it was, he would have had to tell us the price when we ordered if it was not 15 euros, like the other pizzas on the menu. I asked the waiter why we were not informed about the more expensive price when ordering, and he did not reply. This is not just bad, it is bordering on illegal. We will never come back and I do not recommend anyone else to go here either.

Wonderful experience with Turku friends last year. Delicious meals, lovely menu, friendly staff.

Have eaten pizza and lasagna here. Pizzas have great toppings, tomato sauce and cheese. Size is just right, not humongous, not tiny. Lasagna is ok, better than average. I rate the restaurant 4 stars as normal price of 15€ is probably the second most expensive pizza I have ever eaten.The 10€ Corona time pizzas are 110% worth the price!Place is also good for families with kids.Do not misinterpret the Italian sarcasm as rudeness. It is their sense of humor and they do not mean to be mean :)

Cozy, the pasta was good, the menu could be more diverse

Menu hadnt changed in 5 years. Bruschetta very soggy with ice cold tomato, bland. Panchetta pasta was ridiculously salty and with barely any panchetta. Chicken saltimbocca was raw and when I told about it, they took the plate and brought the same portion back, microwaved. Meat tasted bad, pasta was tasteless. Never again.

An absolutely amazing and very affordable Italian restaurant here in Turku, can nothing but recommend. The menu has a good variety and, something that can be easily missed, youll often find many off-menu dishes listed on the various boards within the restaurant. Be sure to take a look as to whats written on those as well! The staff is very pleasant as well.

Ripped dirty tablecloths placed upside down on the table, filthy spiderwebs dangling from electric wires powering the ceiling fans and a snooty waiter lecturing the guests that real Italians wouldnt have to ask for a menu all contibute to a very bad experience

Great food, nice traditional ambience

Nice Italian trattoria type restaurant. Pasta, pizza and everything else. Not a fine dining place, you can drop by in jeans and a t-shirt. The food is good, the atmosphere is quite lovely.

Great pastas and very tasty sea food inspired dishes. The staff is kind, professional, however they do hover a bit too much. The restaurant is often filled with people who seem like regulars, making it difficult to come here the first time

Kind of expensive pizza, 15€ and the crust was dry and hard to cut. But that was probably the best part of the pizza. The shrimps, mussles and tuna didnt taste fresh but more like warmed up in the microwave. But we got a salad included with the pizza that was of good quality altho they didnt ask what we wanted or did not want in the salad.

Had tagliatelle romana which was very simple and delicious, nice homemade pasta and excellent ham. A place with character. Looking forward to next visit.

Im Italian and Ive been eating at trattoria Romana alot of times and to be honest its the closest to Italian food Ive ate in Finland so props to Rico for the good food grazie

One of the best Italian restaurants in Turku. Run by Italians serving traditional Italian and Roman food.

Food is consistently good and prices are reasonable. Service can be a bit erratic and slow in the evening, but great at lunch when it’s quieter. The tables are a bit too cramped. On one occasion we got free salads with our pasta at lunch, three months earlier we didn’t. It might be a new thing.

I love this place, the way it’s decorated with this “rustico” look and feel, the quality of the food with traditional dishes that truly make it a little piece of Italy in Finland!One special mention for the owner, really kind and friendly.

Excellent Italian food with good ingredients. The price is also good

Very cramped place, rather than cozy or charming. My spouse loves Italian food, and we came here based on the super-positive reviews but nearly everything was a let-down. The ambience was nil, cramped tables (the guy behind me accidentally hit me twice, not his fault though), dirty tablecloth, and very stuffy. Foodwise, the marinated olives were super salty, there was no lasagna available though it was pretty early in the evening, and the replacement pasta al forno was just cheesy with little flavour. The house wine was decent though, and the bruschetta was alright too. We left without trying any dessert.

Really good an affordable genuine Italian homemade cuisine. Staff friendly and fast. Just a note, Mineral water 5€ for a small bottle, a bit overpriced according to me. Next time I will check pricing.

Best place Ive been to in Finland so far. Recommended! No wifi and slow waiter, otherwise good.

Caprese was perfect. Al Tonno was not so perfect and reminded me of school food.
