Trattoria Marione in Florence
Description
Privilege
100000% authentic Tuscan food. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED! Very kind staff. Super delicious food. It gets very busy, so advanced reservation is a must. If you are in Florence, THIS is the place where you want to eat! 👍🏼👍🏼🇮🇹
MoreBeautiful authentic food with great service. No bookings taken so just turn up, put your name down and wait outside to be called in. We went Monday night and waited 10mins.
MoreWow! Amazing lunch. Authentic vibe and cuisine. Worth the visit for their pesto pasta and ragu.
MoreThe bistecca Fiorentina was cooked to perfection. The ribiolata was delicious as well. Great wine list coupled with fantastic service
MoreDisappointing experience. Rushed staff. Some kind of miscommunication which led to us getting the cheaper cut of beef steak without the fillet (there are two options listed on the menu under the heading of bistecca alla fiorentina, but only one is proper fiorentina cut)... We did not ask for this nor did the waiter ask us to specify which one (just asked for bistecca fiorentina to share, 1.2kg). We did not like the sinewy meat, it did not have the melt in mouth texture, and it was chewy. We only realised it wasnt the real deal when we saw the item named on the bill. I believe the restaurant was sly and opportunistic in selling their lesser cut (still at a too expensive price!to unknowing customers. This was a big let down for a big price :(
MoreCouldnt have been looked after better, knowledgeable service with a smile and very attentive. Every course was well made and tasted like Nonna would have made it, really impressed!
MoreFantastic meal, the pici was great and the osobucco was stunning, staff was nice although they were rushing us despite us wanting to stay for desert, which was a pretty average tiramisu.
MoreThis is beyond description. I would eat here everyday if possible.
Best.meal.ever…Ossobucco, eggplant Parmesan that needs to emigrate to US and teach Italian restaurants there what it should taste like for real, bissteca from heaven and general atmosphere that this is where Italians come to eat away from the tourists (but we found out and followed you, sorry…). A must for any visitor of Firenze.
MoreIt was good. Could have been better but could have been worse. Average food found anywhere in Italian.
MoreWe were looking for an original place to taste a fiorentina steak. This one didn’t disappoint. Friendly staff although we had 3 children and good food overall.Highlights were: fiorentina steak, roasted potatoes (we ordered double portion!), parmigiana eggplants and cantuccini con vin santo.Price was in the average for Florence.
MoreWe had a delicious dinner at Trattoria Marione. We had the crostini misti for Antipasti, the caccio e peppe and pene ragu for the primi, grilled salmon and eggplant parmesan for the secondi, and tiramisu for dessert. Quick, very friendly service, and the air conditioning was very welcome!
MoreWow! Went here years ago and remembered how good it was - second time around it didn’t disappoint! The only choice (IMHO and indeed the right choiceis the Bistecca alla Fiorentina - 3.6kgs worth we had with a damn good Brunello! Another member of the party had a pasta (ragu - beef shincracking too. Very Firenze!
MoreWe went there with the intention to eat Florentine steak and it was not a dissapointment. The meat was nice and rare (only available rare). It had a great taste and was seasoned very well. You can also taste the grill. The same goes for the roasted potatoes. The staff was also friendly, but the fact that our table didnt get cleaned after we sat down was a bit dissapointing. That is why we give it 4 stars instead of 5. We understand that it is a very busy place.
MoreHighly recommend this restaurant! Definitely call before to make a reservation, but it would be worth waiting in line for! The wait staff are friendly, the service was great, the food was delicious, the wine was great, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great.
MoreThe service was very good- the waiter was friendly and made some helpful suggestions. The atmosphere was low key and informal. The food was mostly brilliant! We got given a panzanella that was well seasoned, and then had some mozzarella and pomodoro. The primi was great- ragù penne was good and so was the truffle pasta. The florentine steak was yummy and buttery soft. The ossobuco was not my favourite, could have had a bit more moistness but tasted fine. House wine went down smoothly! We finished with torta della nonna which was so yummy and comforting.Overall it is one of the better restaurants we have visited in Italy.
MoreGood food and service, a small local place. Food was solid and well prepared.
OH YES !!! If there would be a movie about the perfect littke Italian, this place would be in it. One of the best pkaces we have eaten while in Florence. Go - like NOW :)
MoreThe food was extraordinary. Ravioli in tomato sauce was a winner. But, my daughter claimed the grilled salmon was by far the best she ever had.the staff brought us a side salad and antipasto without us ordering or being charged. The cheese cake was light and tasty and the tiramisu was as good as my mothers.I would highly recommend this restaurant!
MoreThey let us in at 22:20 and they told us that kitchen will be closed at 23.00. At 22:30 when we tried to order the kitchen was closed for the first plates but they could bring us the antipasti so they can hold us there. Then the meat was uncooked and they couldnt cook it more. Very bad experience and overpriced shop. Not recommend.
MoreThis was my favorite meal in our whole Florence trip. Niccolo was the friendliest server and made our experience the best! The meat sauce was by far the best I’ve had in Italy and it was creamy and packed with flavor. The house red wine was delicious and we were even given limoncello at the end of our meal. I would recommend anyone try this restaurant, and I know I’ll be back asap.
MoreI’ve now been here twice, once in 2017 and once in 2022, both times in the summer. In general, we enjoyed our visit to this lovely trattoria - more the second time than the first. It had been very hyped up and was recommended to us by several people. On our first visit, we were a bit underwhelmed. Service was ok, one pasta dish was great and the other was OK. Most recently, we visited on a Tuesday and it was VERY busy - way more so than our first time in 2017, but we got seated in their basement immediately (which, in my opinion, is the best place in the house! It was nice and cool on a very very hot day!). Servers were definitely overwhelmed. Took a while to get our order and they forgot our wine until after our food was served. We order cacio e pepe and melon+prosciutto. The pasta was not the best I’ve had of this dish, but it wasn’t terrible either. Nice wine selection. The melon and prosciutto was delicious. We also loved the atmosphere, even though it was busy. It does feel very tourist-heavy, which we didn’t love, but that didn’t take away from the authenticity of the experience. We’d definitely go back in the future and maybe ask the servers for a recommendation, because I don’t think we’ve ordered their best dishes.
MoreBest steak I’ve ever eaten in my life. We came because our hotel recommended it for us. We got the florentine steak and I was a bit nervous because they only served it rare but it was delicious. Massive cut of meat but worth every penny. Came right as it opened and it filled up quick.
MoreBest meal I had while in Florence. Ordered the bistecca alla Florentina with a side of their roasted potatoes. The steak was delicious and potatoes were cooked to perfection. Worth every penny, would definitely recommend!
MoreFantastic place, a gem in the back streets of Firenze! Very good food, friendly floor staff and kitchen! We had Osso Buco, Melanzane Parmigiane, home made pasta with butter, fillet steak, panacotta,....and a bottle of Achelo from Antinori...all beautiful and tasty...5 stars not enough
MoreAlessio was a wonderful host, I loved the tripe! Zucchini flowers were amazing, the steak was perfection! Eggplant parm, beef stew, grilled chicken, every dish was perfect!
MoreWe had a lasagne, truffle pasta & the meatballs with fried zucchini flowers. The zucchini flowers had too much batter and was soggy. The pasta was too soft. The lasagne was OK at best. The ambience was nice and the service was friendly but food was a let down!
MoreVery friendly wait staff. The atmosphere was homey but not too rustic. The food was excellent and so was the house wine. Great for meat lovers. The steak was awesome. Worth the very high price.
MoreBest wine, best meal, best waitstaff in Italy! Nice cooks and great ambiance! Highly recommend to anyone! Get the truffle or the pesto! Very yummy!!!! Get the limoncello too!
MoreGreat food, friendly service, and a wonderful atmosphere. What more could you want? We started with pecorino served with honey and mustard of fruit (a touch spicy and very tasty). Then we had the tagliolini with shaved black truffles (deliciousand spaghetti with clams. We also shared an eggplant parmesan, which, while certainly good, was our least favorite of the dishes we tried here. Finally we had the no-bake cheesecake which was to die for. We cant stop talking about the almondy, oaty crust!
MoreThis place is just OK. It’s reasonably priced but the food is just ok. The seafood pasta dish was actually terrible, the risotto was good, but a little bland. Just an ok meal in Florence
MoreExcellent food (especially meatand wonderful service. Great place to try the local steaks. Popular among locals as well so pass by and boom in advance (sometimes their too busy to answer phones). Waiter spoke good English and was very helpful. Highly recommended! Grazie!
MoreGo here. Seriously. With one exception (the bread that was made of granite), this place is amazing. The staff was welcoming and friendly, the food was absolutely delicious (my companion’s eggplant parm was the best I’ve ever had), the dessert was unusual and delicious (not sure what it was called but it tasted like Christmas), and the wine was wonderful. Open late and excellent!
MoreIf youre looking for one of the best restaurants in Florence, this is the place to go to! Really friendly staff also when the place is packed with people. Service is quick and food is delicious! Prices are moderate. Definitely coming back chez Marione!
MoreWe recommend this restaurant!Literally everything was tasty especially Bongore pasta, Beef steak and cantucci with dessert were our favorite! Also great service and lovely and friendly staff! You should book the table in advance!Thank you for the great experience, Trattoria Marione!
MoreWe had the T-bone stake and ravioli which we both loved. What an an amazing interior design and atmosphere
MoreVery friendly and fun environment, food was tasty although the portion is not that much!Wine was good as well.Truely recommend to visit when in Florence for a nice experience.
MoreGreat food. The bistecca alla Fiorentina is delicious, but could probably use a few more minutes on the grill if you ask me (only served rare). The tiramisu might be the best I’ve ever had. Staff was very friendly. Place gets busy, so get there early. Bill was about €95 for everything pictured.
MoreA must in Florence. Perfect restaurant.Fantastic food, excellent house wine, friendly and very efficient service, great local vibe. Their fiorentina steak is amazing and if you go for it, try their roasted potatoes as a side: theyre simply delicious! Prices fair, especially considering the quality of the food and service.Just bare in mind that if you want a fiorentina steak, they would only cook it rare as its the traditional way.Top place!
MoreNice local place great for big steak locals go there
Very local place, loved both the food and service. Truffle pasta is definitely recommended.
MoreSuch a lovely place. Very recommended! We stopped for lunch and enjoyed it a lot.Food: Very authentic and delicious! The truffles pasta in particular was great as well as the fried zucchini blossoms!Service: The service was friendly and in a great mood! They served us fast and helped us get plant-based options off the menu as well.Prices: they are good. Not crazy cheap, but definitely not expensive either.
MoreTrattoria Marione is a great place overall. You could think you are walking into a typical toscan place thanks to the Florence symbole all over the walls but they offer dishes from all over italy. The prices are descent, the service is abrupt but efficient, the food was excellent. When we were there it felt like it was crowded with regulars which is a good sign!
MoreVery typical (in food, decor and serviceTuscan restaurant in the heart of Florence. You CAN find a cheaper lunch, but here it’s a guaranteed fresh and tasty meal, a large and clean bathroom AND the best frittelle when it’s that carnival time of year! I’ll definitely go back for another go.
MoreThis place is wonderful. As an American visiting, I felt extremely welcomed by all of the staff. Also they have GLUTEN FREE options! It was new years Eve when I went with my friends and they were very prompt with serving, even though the entire place was full and there was a 20+ person line outside. This place is truly a blessing in Italy. The sweet coffee shot that I also had was wonderful and I really enjoyed the hospitality. If you have a chance to come to this place, DO. They are great:-also the potatoes are great#nofilter on this photo of my meal (sliced beef)
MoreA nice eatery with friendly staff! We tried their famous Ribbolita Soup (vegetable and bread soup without the broth), a Tuscan specialty. Fairly flavorful and hearty food. I tried the ricotta cheese pasta which was very nice as well. The table next to us had their florentine steak and looked fairly nice, but we had Buca Lapi that evening, which blew us with their flavorful taste. All in all, this is a well recommended place for a meal in Florence.
MoreRecommended by our host in Florence. Really good Bistec Fiorentina. We also tried some other dishes like Lasagna and a variety of cold cut, a little overpriced but the quality was very good.
MoreHad a good dinner with friends here! A good traditional tuscan food. Try the Osso buco, pesto pasta and Florentine steak in rare! The dishes are priced well!
MoreThis is Florence. The atmosphere was warm and homey, the wait staff was kind and proficient, but the rock star is the menu. This is where Florentines go to eat. Reasonably priced and worth the wait. Open for lunch, too. Highly recommended!!! 😋😊❤️
MoreThis is our favorite restaurant in the whole world. The lasagna is unreal. I havent disliked anything we have gotten. There is usually a wait but we started going 1 hour before close and would get right in. They have great appetizers and main dishes. The chicken and potatoes is one of my other favorites. If you are in Florence be sure to check them out if you want an amazing meal!
