Set in a 2-storey building 2.9 km from the Keystone Centre, this simple hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Assiniboine River. The basic rooms have microwaves, minifridges, coffeemakers and WiFi access. Family suites add bunk beds, while the kitchen suite has a full-size fridge and stove, plus a living/dining area and a private entrance. There's a straightforward bistro, as well as an indoor pool with a waterslide, whirlpool tub and kids' pool. There's also a laid-back lounge that has live music and video lottery terminals. Meeting facilities are available.
TERRIBLE! The lady at the front desk was full of attitude and rude. The staff at the desk in the evening ignored everyone unless they went up specifically to talk to them and didnt appear as though they wanted to be there. They did nothing about the yelling and slamming of hotel room doors at 3am. There were dead bugs everywhere in the morning. When asked at check out how things were and concerns were brought up the lady brushed them off as if our stay was perfect.I WILL NOT stay here ever again. I would rather sleep in my car than stay there. Head office brushed off the concerns as did the hotel manager. Not impressed. Pathetic service not to mention the hotel flooring is in need of repair.
What a joke this place has become and the attitude of the staff is that the customers are an inconvenience till checkout our room was full of flies had gaps in the laminated flooring installation bent towel bar in the bathroom was hidden by towels stacked up to prevent the door from hitting it again rather then put in a real doorstop. The fact the hot tub was closed all weekend for maintenance didnt upset me as much as you could tell this had been a long time issue(old enough that the hand written sign taped up at reception had curled with age). The upper floor had an on going party through the night that was disturbing to all guest not involved (there was a lot of complaintsThe attitude is well you stayed an didnt leave so it was livable. I recommend doing some comparison by the time most loyalty programs kick in the cost for a room at the Clarion or Canad Inns are more then comparable with out the screw you attitude towards the customer.
Rooms were decent and clean. Long walk to front desk
Not bad, always busy! So be sure to reserve your room before hand!
when we first sat down the service was good but then afterwards it was almost like they couldnt care Plus it was very offended when they asked me for ID but then not ask my husband and its very obvious that were both over 18
The room was nice and clean. Water slide was nice and big but the pool area was a little small for the amount of people there at the time. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by which was nice and handy.
A good stop on a road trip for a cheaper hotel. The front desk was very friendly and even kept the pool open a little longer for us, the only reason I’m rating it 4 is because the atmosphere is pretty dated, the paint is peeling off the walls in the pool area, the rooms need some re and re and no elevators to the second floor. Other then that, everything was very clean and our stay was hassle free. Would recommend this hotel if you’re looking to save money on a road trip
The room was OK there was a lot of houseflies for some reason I had to kill them all to get some sleep there’s a lot of homeless people around checking ashtrays And recycle bottlesThe room was clean
The room we had was not clean and the entire second floor had a very pungent scent.I would avoid.
On July 6th and 7th, 2022, we decided to book at the Travelodge using our Windham Rewards points. We specifically asked for ahandicapped accessible room with an outside door, which we recieved.First off, there was no parking close to the room, which is unacceptable for an accessible room. The outside door was also at least a foot high off thesidewalk, which would be difficult, if not impossible, for anyone who is mobility challenged. The roomitself had a long, wide hallway from the main door to the bed area, but that is where the “accessibleroom” features ended. The door to the bathroom was barely wide enough for an average sized humanto go through, never mind an individual using mobility aids; and there was very little space betweenwhere the door opened into the bathroom, the end of the toilet, and the sink vanity. In the main area, there was about 2-3 feet between the end of the bed and the desk, dresser, and microwave/mini fridgestand. The microwave was not plugged in, and in order to use it, we needed to move the entre standunit over quite a ways in order to plug it in. This would be impossible for a disabled individual. Once thatwas done, the microwave didn’t even work properly. The air conditioner unit was wall mounted near the top of the wall. There was a remote control tooperate the unit that did not work. The filter in the a/c unit was caked with debris and had clearly notbeen cleaned in some time. In order to turn the a/c on and off, or adjust the temperature, we had tostand on chairs. This is unacceptable in an accessible room. The remote control for the television would only change channels, would not turn the tv on or off orcontrol the volume. On our last evening there, the toilet was plugged. When we asked the front desk staff for a plunger, theystated that the maintenance staff were done for the day, he did not know how to contact the manager, and he had no idea where a plunger could be found. It was then suggested to us to just use therestaurant toilets for the remainder of our stay. This restaurant, even though it is “attached” to thehotel, is not under the hotel’s management.Even though the front desk staff were friendly and kind, they were clearly not properly trained and hadno business being on duty alone for the evening/night.We will never stay at this hotel again, and are thinking of contacting Wyndham and the manager for arefund of our points and money. Worst. Hotel. Ever!!!!
Good service, rooms very nice, clean and pet friendly. Also very reasonably priced. Loved the direct access from room to parking.
he rooms were clean and comfortable. It was very spacious, had a fridge, freezer , coffee and microwave. The water pressure was good . They supplied lots of towels and pillows. The pool and hot-tub were well maintained. The water slide was great. The price was very reasonable- great value. Handy beer store and restaurant next door. Pretty central location. Very dog friendly and two doors into the room ( one from the hallway and one to the outsidewhich was very handy
The room was clean, but the hallways have that particular smell of old, wet carpet. Our fridge had not been cleaned and we found food from whoever was there before us, which gave me the idea that rooms are not fully cleaned before having a new guest.Better than a more expensive super 8 in Morden we stayed at the night before.Beds and bedding was more comfortable here. There is a big water slide, a small pool, and a hot tub.
Gym not open till tenPool closed at tenSaggy beds and paper thin wallsCoffee machine not cleaned outFloor was dirtyWater damage, probably mildew and mold growing👍
This was a nice hotel. The room was big, clean, with all we needed for a night stay. The bed was extra comfy. A lot of parking available outside in front of the hotel.
The hotel price is very cheap and nice but the description can be misleading in some websites. Their is NO free breakfast, youll need to purchase one and its 15$ per person. The room was very nice and clean, I could see that they done some renovations .The reason I am giving them 3 is because of the pool ,Ill explain : they dont clean the pool area at all there are a lot of mold marks and yellow marks ( I assume old pee stains?and some filters were broken in the pool.Plus the sofa by the pool was broken which is not their fault but could be removed for the safety of the guests and the "beauty" of the place which shows the lack of maintenance. The slide is awesome but very Dangerous , it doesnt fit such a small pool ! We got injured really bad from it as the pool is very shallow. But the towels in the pool area were clean. The worker was nice. The gym is very basic and small. Not in a good area in my opinion.Good air conditioner, the bed and pillows were ok.Its a nice and affordable place if you do a reservation a few days in advance (around 70$ , but over 100$ a day before. Its an okay place for a family with kids with a pool but again it was discussing in the pool area , and there were about 10 teenagers in the hot tub.I dont think I will stay here again, but again the room itself wasnt so bad. The location is nice they have an Amazing and affordable Chinese buffet infront of them .And close(drive friendlyto a dollar store and other places.
Its a nice spot. The staff was amazing. They held doors open for us when we were leaving. The only reason for the 4 star rating was breakfast wasnt included. To me $137.00 a night should include breakfast.
Here for Rugby and its almost a block from the park. Fantastic service pool is great.
Great hot tub and pool area with updated rooms.
Great service, good location, and a comfortable night sleep.
The air conditioner didnt work very well and my stay was during one of Brandons rare heatwaves.I could hear yelling and arguing from more than one room while walking down the hallway.
In a part of city where its super sketch by the North 40 bar, but excellent place to stay and service! Nice hottub and waterslide (dont forget to press button to start water), and room with AC, nicely laid out, and clean. No laundry but theres ice and vending machines. Had a problrm with metsl sticking out of bottom of bed and it was repaired immediately. Chose thos hotel because of the ratings online and wasnt disappointed! Super sketchy people hanging around hotel, so ensure you lock your car.
Not impressed. They obviously don’t clean the rooms. There were dirty socks left in the room and the recycling bin had so much gross caked on stuff at the bottom under the bag. My daughters sheets were dirty as well. Didn’t have enough clean towels for the pool and the pool area has got to be the tiniest pool I’ve ever seen for a hotel. The lobby was kinda grungy. My family and I all agreed we would never stay there again.
Room was spacious and had everything we needed including a comfortable bed, fridge, AC, microwave. The AC was loud and dripping but we just put a towel down. The hallway smelled a bit musty but the room itself was scent-free. Clean blankets and towels. Receptionist was friendly, efficient, and accommodating.
Nice big clean modern room with comfortable beds, a fridge and a microwave. One of the best ones we have stayed in on our budget 10000 km road trip. Dont take the google recommended route at night: rather stay on 1 until 10 and then go south. We saw 6 deer in 8 km on the google maps recommended by route.
Bed bugs found alive on clean towel. Floors haven’t even been vacuumed. Looks and is sooooo sketchy/ dirty. Would not recommend staying here.
Ive waited a bit before posting my review because I didnt want to post it out of anger or frustration. There are many other hotels/motels in and around brandon, highly recommend going elsewhere. Its absolutely DISGUSTING when you find pretzels, rice, hair, and a USED WASHCLOTH in the bed between the mattress protector and the bed bug cover for the mattress. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! Additionally, the mirrors were dirty, bathroom had previous persons green dried up soap running down the wall of the shower. Raisin on the floor when we walked in. Anyone who offers pet friendly should know that raisins are poisonous to dogs and should be cleaned/vacuumed properly. The coffee stuff was not replenished, had to ask for it and was told to go pick it up from front desk where in the past experiences its been brought to our room if anything was forgotten or missed. The pool area is quite dated and appears to have the same cleanliness as the rooms. The only plus I can mention is that for the one night we stayed, it was quiet.Overall, wouldnt recommend staying here unless everyone else was booked.
Room was great, Food was great, pet friendly, nice pool. what more do i gotta say?
when we got there the toilet in our room was pluged, kids loved the bunkbeds. the pool is small and cold but waterside was fun. stayed 2 night asked for a extra blanket both days and they said they will divery it but never did both nights.
Stopped by for a couple drinks the bartender was nice, nice people in general
From the lobby, I would have thought this place was a dive. Pleasantly surprised when the room was quite nice. A little dirty but acceptable with the reasonable nightly rate on a Saturday.
I enjoy listening to the live bands when theyre at The 40 as I play VLTs
The room are pretty well maintained and had quality linen products. Nice pot lights all over the roomsThe layout is so weird for double room that when you enter and the first thing you see is the wash basin and a separate washroom next to it.The front staff are pretty slow in operatingand take their own time.
Room had everything needed and very clean. Friendly and efficient staff.
My kids loved the waterside! The room was clean and updated and we had the best sleep on those beds. Good bang for your buck!
Older front desk lady was incredibly rude and ignorant towards us. Woken up at 2 am because of someone searching through peoples cars. Woke up in the morning with my car glove box open and hotel staff didnt care in the slightest and were not helpful at all. The only reason for 2 stars was the housekeeping. The lady was incredibly nice and very helpful. Front desk lady should be fired and this hotel should be avoided at all cost.
The hotel was dirty in general, floors had spills and rocks, like they hadn’t been cleaned between stays. The pool area had 2 chairs for guests to sit. Front desk staff was extremely rude. We often meet relatives in the area, but none of us will be staying here again. The prices are low, but it was evident you get what you pay for.
The older lady that came to the counter to help check us in was incredibly rude and blatantly racist towards my friend. Room was good, but nothing could have made up for her attitude.
Excellent reception and nice room, they let me bring my dog. Very happy with my experience here. A big thank you to the staff! :)
Night Staff crew was lovely, I believe her name was Rae. Room was fairly clean tub needs work, super cold room window was frozen slightly open to the point I barely slept from the noise outside and was awakened at 5am by neighbor starting his truck, bed was very lumpy and hard, could still smell someones cologne on the sheets and pillows. Windows need to be replaced as well as the caulking in the bathroom and the side of the tub cleaned, gross. Will not be returning
Front end staff were excellent and didnt mind chatting. Housekeeping was great. We didnt need service but they would just ask us if we wanted towels or TP or anything really
They clean rooms at 9:00pm. Maid doesn’t wedge door open so the door is constantly slamming shut ever few seconds as she walks in and out. Not pleasant when you are working 12.5 hour shifts in town.
First bed had hair on it, second bed is good for garbage. I found a dirty pair of socks in the room.Carpet, yes CARPET Hallways and rooms smelt like cat litter and were stained. I think its time for renovations ... The whole building smells like propane for some reason. I am not a complicated person but I am completely discussed and disappointed by my stay and want to be refunded or credited. This place deserves a 1 star. Wouldnt be surprised to find bed bugs ... They will lure you in with their tiny pool. Please avoid this place and do not waste your money on these Over-expensive rooms.
Very comfortable beds, clean room. Only issue was heat in room in the wing by the pool. AC could not keep up with it and we had to change rooms. We had a great stay.
Mold in the bathroom, our door didnt lock, we didnt have a second exit on the first floor, looked like from the walls this was a laundry room before and they set it up to be a room. Very sketchy, didnt feel comfortable staying here.
Good rate decent room. Very slow check in Service and room was not the cleanest. Fridge was for sure not cleaned and a few other areas we noticed.
Nice rooms and pool with waterslide. Very reasonably priced
Overall the hotel and staff were above expected. Wonderful. The room was very nice. The pool was disappointing. 1/2 hour water time way too short and slide was out of order.
Clean rooms, and great service. They had a delicious breakfast included. Id definitely come back.
Rooms clean, linen nice and quiet. Couldnt hear neighbors at all.. maybe there were no neighbors??We left the room looking like a tornado ran through and forgot the put the do not clean sign on the door and came back to nice tidy room with beds a made up and clean towels. The water slide is awesome even though the pool is really small. They provide towels in the pool area. The pool area has 2 levels for lounging around while the kids swim. The hot tub is huge, probably 10 feet x 10 feet by 3.5 feet deep.Continental breakfast is served at the attached chicken chief. Eggs, toast, sausages (I hate breakfast sausages but these were goodand coffee or juice. The cleaning crew is always out and about. I walked by a room and the cleaner was polishing the mirror. Doesnt sound like much but it kinda shows the attention to detail. In summation:Its definitely not a 5 star place but this is definitely NOT a dive either. There absolutely no reason you should not stay here if you need a place to stay.
