Paillotte Road, Dominica, Roseau
Trafalgar Falls - Tourist attraction in Roseau, Dominica
Short walk to two beautiful waterfalls, its a must see in Dominica
nice place, the road is well marked. The parking lot is right in front of the entrance. Helpful and nice staff. Ideal to connect with other waterfalls in the area and end in hot baths.
Great view and beautiful short walk!
You should go and find out yourself
Amazing twin waterfall.
Again perfect place lots of slippery Rick though, my daughter slipped but couldnt careless.
Beautifully breathtaking! Easy nature walk to the falls with a spectacular view
Beautiful site. Take your water shoes and protection for your phone if you want to climb the rocks towards the basin. Papa is the fall on the left and Mama on the right. Based upon other reviews I started to climb by myself up the rocks and got pretty far. However, Im 58 and although I think Im in pretty good shape. A guide named Golden (23 yrs oldcame and helped me. It was well worth it (your discretion on tip--I gave him 50 XCDas he knew all the spots and was very helpful and mindful of all the hazards. Trail starts up the left side. Kind of hidden of course. It was a great experience especially at the top where the warm geothermal water and the cool river water mix.
Awesome tourist location, but be careful climbing the rocks though. Some of the rock are slippery some are sharp and you will definitely regret falling.
Beautiful waterfall. Our guide advised us that people should not enter the water because it could be dangerous due to rock falls and a sudden increase in the waterfalls discharge.
Beautiful sight thats easy to take in after a not too bad 10 minute hike from trail entrance. $5 entry fee.. or you can purchase a $12 "Week Pass" that allows entry to several sites around the country. Close up views of the falls require some skill rock climbing and path discovery on your own.. or you can pay a local guide a ridiculous amount to show you the.."Local Way"... Even after a bruise and scared knee it was still worth the adventure rather than paying 150 EC and feeling rip-off. In any event a cool experience no matter how you do it.
Such a beautiful site!❤️
Pics dont do it justice. Breathtaking, easy to get to with lots of parking. if your on Dominica, Go!
Been here twice with Levi Baron of Bumpiing Tours absolutely love the twin falls and the mud baths. Trafalgar Falls is AWESOME it never gets old. Go and have a blast I did and cant wait to go back.
A great experience for people of all types. When you arrive there is an easy 10 minute walk to view the falls. For those who are more adventurous and fit, you can climb higher and actually enjoy to water and the falls up close.
Got the opportunity to do the rappel the father fall.
Nice place to visit when in Dominica. The hike from the parking lot is fairly short but there are quite a few uneven steps that could be difficult for some. Worth the trip!
The road to get there is a bit of a challenge; best to let a local do the driving. For the short hike to the falls shoes with good traction are a very good idea. Once there the two falls are wonderful.
Beautiful spot. Even had a few torrential downpours to demonstrate why they call this a Rainforest ‼️
What is better than two falls for the price of one? Nothing. Amazing views. Need a site pass if youre not local
Impressive waterfalls, relatively easy walk from the car park.
Stunning dual water falls. Only about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot along a well maintained trail.
Awesome hike, waterfalls, and bathing pools. A gem in the Nature Isle.
Trafalga falls is one of dominicas main tourist attractions. try to visit when the cruise ships are not aroun, its much nicer alone. You need to pay a park entrance fee. A short walk takes you to a viewing platform. Beyond this its fun to climb the rocks up to the sulphur spring. Best route is on the right side. Be very careful, its super slippery.
Very lovely village and waterfall
We climbed all the slippery rocks to enjoy the falls up close! It is amazing nature! I loved it and would go again!
We walked here from the cruise terminal. It was about 5 miles and INCREDIBLY hilly!!! It took us about 90 minutes each way. If you’re an experienced hiker then this is a beautiful, challenging hike. Go for it! You’ll see WAY more than sitting in a stuffy van.
A bit of steps to get there, but shouldnt take more than 10 minutes and theyre beautiful to see in person. You can climb over to them if you have time
Easy access, beautiful view and we met some endemite animals here! In the tourist center you can find descriptions about local history, geology, hydrology, fauna, flora etc. Really enriching! You do not need to have special shoes, the path is okay to go in flip flops.
Spectacular waterfalls. Easy walk to them. It was empty when we visited, which was really nice
I have to admit that I was very impressed. I loved the Falls and area. You can also get a guide to help you navigate through the boulders and up to the warm water and cool water pools about half way up the FallsCost to enter is $5 U.S. or $32 East Caribbean dollars. Definitely worth the trip.
A very steep work wear comfortable shoes take your time the rocks in the water slippery great experience overall
Unique spot in stunning nature. Make sure to walk up all the way to the upper pool, its amazing. Jump on and of the hot and cold water, its really refreshing!
A light hike from the reception facility.... but definitely worth it.
The 15 minutes hike is rewarded once you get to the highlights of site. There are 2 falls, one on each side of a gorgeous rock. Many flowers 💐 in the natural garden.
Beautiful place, both falls are worth swimming in, even the Father hot pools on a hot day. Just make sure NOT to take a guide BEFORE asking for a price.
Beautiful waterfall. Can swim in the waterfall if you want. Just have to walk over a few rocks
A must go place in this country. Twin waterfalls are nice
Stunning waterfalls, only a few minutes walk from the parkinglot. Admittance fee (we bought a week pass). Due to 1heavy rainfall 2some of the larger rocks had moved in the last hurricane - our tour guide adviced us against bathing in the pools, rightly so. Nice view from a wooden platform. Not the most exciting experience on the island, but a beautiful site.
Beautiful waterfall with hot springs only a short drive or bus ride from Roseau.
Stunning. Loved the hike down and up to the falls. As some have noted the rocks are slippery so you must wear sneakers or boots that grip otherwise you are going to hurt yourself. Getting up to the top of the falls is not impossible but risky. This island is food for the soul.
Trafalagar Falls was my favorite waterfall on the island. Getting to see a side by side waterfalls that were both unique was really fun. The hike to falls was easy enough and a really nicely maintained path. Once you get down to the falls you can go explore out of the rocks and you get to see so much more! So many little pools and streams are hidden amongst the rocks, I really suggest it. There were guides that you could hire to take you to the pool of the actual falls. We didnt realize that til we were already out farther exploring and saw them coming down or we would have tried that too. But you can still make your own little adventure between the falls. The view of the valley is pretty stunning too! Just wear appropriate shoes. The rocks in places were slippery!
Its a great place with a lot of views, but it seems to may have been affected terrible NY the recent hurricanes and needs a bit of rock removal, but none the less I found a cozy little spot with a small falls to relax me, all in all it was a pretty decent experience. A small hike to get to the actual river and falls and AMAZING views when u get there.
These majestic falls add life to this community... its breath taking cascades are phenominal
Well worth the walk up. Remember to take some old trainers or rock shoes ad youre going to go for a swim in the pools, the rocks get really slippery.
It was very busy when we were here but its interesting to see. These are the biggest waterfalls on the island. They are worth seeing, but some of the smaller ones are a better experience. Many of the waterfalls you can get right up into, but these arent accessible beyond the viewing platform.
I had a nice time. The hike isnt very difficult, and they have it very well maintained, despite some devastating storms in the recent past. Once you get there, its very lovely and picturesque. You can either stay on the platform or climb up to the falls. Another good thing, not very buggy, at least not when I was there.
Not a hard walk but since there is elevation please take your time! Also if you are going to be adventurous and try to get close to the falls a guide is very useful! Please note that stones can be very slippery when wet.
Wonderful hike with beautiful waterfalls. Many creeks that offer fun wet options. Everywhere you go there are immaculate rivers & streams with crystal clear, refreshing water!
The storm of 2015 caused a great deal of change but the falls are as beautiful as ever, just with less green surrounding it. Youll have to climb some huge rocks to get to the base of either of the Falls but its worth every drop of sweat. If you cant tarry, the lookout point is also satisfying.
