Worst hamburger I have ever tasted, loud music, confusing service

Really nice place, the food was super good and the staff super friendly

We had an amazing lamb stew and an actual vegetarian curry (we keep ordering vegetarian food that comes with a little bit of meat!!!The curry was delicious and perfectly seasoned too.

One of the best Beef Stroganoff’s I’ve ever had, absolutely fantastic.The vegetarian curry was also very good.

The Guanaco Burger patty was clearly cooked in the microwave.So hard and dry, no taste.I was excited to taste something new.Hopeless! Not even one star.

I had the best stew of my life at Wanaco Bar! The kind where I will be comparing every stew from now on to the guanaco stew in Argentina. The bar itself was lovely with a fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent beer. What else are you looking for while on vacation? Get a stew and a beer at Wanaco.

The worst bar I have ever visited! The WORST! Service was VERY VERY SLOW and if you are not foreign its even slower, if they hear you speaking english they will pay attention to you otherwise you will have the worst experience ever. My bf food was cold but we had waited so much time we just wanted to finish and go, I asked for a Burger that came with only 4 fried potatoes and they were raw...DO NOT COME HERE

The guanaco meat (inside the burgerwas very bad and full of fat and in big pieces. We ordered 3 and all of them was the same. If you search the nutritional info of the guanaco meat you will find it has a little bit of fat, no a LOT. We felt we were eating a very low quality meat

Good place to hang out in the later part of the evening. The place is busy and serve really nice meals. I went for the Guanaco 🦙 and enjoyed it although it came out a bit dry, this might be due to the Guanaco meet being more lean

The wait is indelibly long. We got a pitcher of the Wanaco, but they incorrectly served us a pitcher of lemonade, and given the half empty status of the restaurant at 3 PM and the relatively well staffed place, this is unacceptable.

Amazing place, very well kept and with an impressive service. The staff is very welcoming (Walter is Great!and professional. Over the top!! Very fair prices with excellent food quality. I would suggest this place to everyone!

Terrible service. We tried to wave down several waitresses to take our order, but after being ignored for 20 minutes we got up and left. Definitely avoid this place.

Hamburger carne with cheese and guacamole was really nice. Pizza Napoletana ok. Atmosphere is relaxt, with good music and beers.

Nice place and good food & drinks. It is always full. If you want a table, never sit by the bar or they will forget you.

This restaurant service is pathetic, the lady in picture really misbehaved with us though she could arrange a chicken burger she stopped other waitress to execute the order. We told the lady in pic for less ice in drink and check the picture to understand she deliberately put more. So beware of this restaurant and their pathetic service. Its my first bad review for any restaurant and we were really hungry that time on new years eve. No empathy. Food quality Medium.

Got a chance to try guanaco. Very lean, and like beef. Of course our dinner neighbors from England thought it was more like lamb. Highly recommended!

Terribly bland Thai chicken stew. It was really lacking in flavor. No spice, no chilli, no fish sauce. It was basically coconut milk. First time Ive ever seen rice pre mixed in with this dish also. It was basically a very thick soup. My girlfriend had the chilli con carne, which was also "meh". Service could have been better too. Despite seeing us and having served us pre beers, and us telling the waitress we would be ordering food we still had to go up and order ourselves after a 15mins wait with nobody coming to our table.

Amazing veggie burger, made with mushrroms, great potatos.

Service was mediocre, it took them over 30min for some fries. Beer was smaller than advertised and the fries super thin and hard, the hot salsa not spicy and the potato wedges super hot but not properly cooked. Prices are okay and the decorations are cute.

Waitress informed us that they do not have a gluten free menu anymore. They offered us salad options but said flour is used in the kitchen and they can not guarantee there wont be cross contamination.

Terrible experience! First of all, it took them forever to wait on us, very slow service. Then we ordered a couple of burgers; my husband doesnt eat meat and ordered the "fish and lobster" burger and I ordered the guanaco one; they brought the burgers, my husband asked to confirm which one was the fish burger, they confirmed it and we started to eat. The burgers werent very tasty, but I kept telling him that my guanaco burger tasted like fish. When he offered me his burger to try, we finally realized they had EXCHANGED THE BURGERS and put the fish one in my sandwich and the guanaco one in his!! We didnt finish the meal, told the waitress about their mistake, she just said "oh...", left and came back with the bill. We paid and left without a single apology. Terrible place!!!!

Beautiful place on the heart of El Calafate, pizza was good but that breaded veal sandwich was to die for. Massive size and full of flavor. Place is very pretty inside with some old school decorations, very car enthusiast orientaded. Prices are very decent too!!!! Thanks!

Best Guanaco Burger youll ever taste. Quite comfy and clean. The style is really nice.

Fantastic pizza, delicious wine, helpful service and fun environment. We walked the main strip to check out all the options and this bar/restaurant had the most appealing environment. The Malbec they served was great and the flatbread pizzas were well-executed.

I had waited until I got to Argentina before ordering a hamburger, and Wanaco did not disappoint. They even left it pink in the middle instead of overcooking. It was clear that this was hand packed fresh beef, and it was delicious as well as cheap. I love that they served large steak fries but just a few so that I got the taste without overloading.I saw many complain about service, but I went in the afternoon when there werent many people. I was actually surprised she brought the check without my asking.

The browt didnt have any vegetables although it said it cme with potatoes. When potatoes were claimed and brought they were raw... The hambúrguer was OK excepting for the overcooked (burnedmeat. Overall not coming back. It has 2 stars as they had Corona beer.

Worst burger Ive had, bread patty was refrigerated & woke up with food poisining definitely dont reccomend the guanaco meat choice. Service was good and Other dishes were ok.

We went here on New Years Day so that could be why it wasnt awesome, but the food was pretty mediocre and we all ordered different items. We dont recommend.

Great food at a good price! Good selection of beers and burgers. I would definitely recommend this place!Had the patagonia lager, and it was amazing! There is quite a selection of burgers. I went with the patagonica (eggs additionand it was great!The potato wedges were phenomenal and was served with this delicious bbq flavored ketchup

DO NO COME HERE. The service was horrible especially when they found out that I was not a local. Their was a family sitting next to us that were local that came in way later than I did and ordered more than I did and was served both food and drinks before I was and even told me that I couldnt order a pizza since the order was "late". When I saw the family receiving multiple pizzas I was highly enraged. On top of that I ordered a burger, and they gave me 3 little wedges for fries and a super dry burger patty with no vegetables (lettuce or tomatos). Please if your a tourist, dont come here. You will only be wasting your time and money.

Service was poor. However I,m not blaming the service for the poor review (as it was Christmasand the only restaurant available.... Im rating the terrible food. We asked for the chili con carne (not good)... Burger (classic and the lamb)... They were ok... But nothing really special... btw the meat was not good at all... My dad was really hungry and did not finish his meal. The nachos were ok. They were more like pitas with cheese and salsa... But it was the best that we ate at the restaurant . We asked for the guanaco stew... I did not enjoy that at all.. it was flavorless... I dont even know how to describe the flavors... It was really bad. I think they need to work more in their seasoning and top their service.. cause is slow and understaffed.

This was by far my favorite burger in Argentina. All the others I have had seemed very commonplace and “American”. I was served the guanaco (a small camelid like llamas and alpacasburger and my sister had the trout/lobster burger. She was hoping for more of a fillet style burger, but I got more than I could’ve hoped for. I added the “Patagonica” option and my burger had the traditional sunny-side up egg on top and an amazing, medium-well cooked, hand pressed burger as well as some of the best fries I experienced in El Calafate. Plus, catching happy hour makes even more affordable!

Food was mediocre at best and not worth the terrible service. We attempted multiple times over 1hr after eating, to get the check from one waiter. She finally took our food that was supposed to be boxed to go and she never returned. My husband finally went inside and paid at the cash register. This place will fail miserably unless they can get their service in order.

I ordered a burger there, and that one instantly put me in an instant state of depression. The burger was empty, insignificant. So was I. I started to question my raison dêtre and the sense of this poor burgers existence. But it was not his fault, so I still managed to eat it to put an end to his suffering - but not mine. Fries were good but there were only 8 of them, and the sauce was good but not enough to save the burger.

Nice affordable, filling meal. My husband had a lamb burger and I had a gluten free pizza. Was pleased they offered a gluten free menu!

For lunch- had a delicious Thai chicken and ri e stew. Nice break from typical beef/lamb heavy cuisine. Loved it. Also nice selection of teas. Recommend!

Delicious food, good price, slow service. We had the lam stew. It was excellent and the bread that came with it was incredible. The presentation was unique. The only issue is that the service is quite slow.

Food was pretty good although given how quiet it was (Thursday afternoon), the service couldve been a little speedier. It took quite a while to get our drinks and they werent serving any cocktails as it seemed the member of staff who usually handles that wasnt in. Nicely decorated, TVs showing sport and plenty of space.

Ordered a cheese burger but there’s no cheese. The waitress came to my table TWICE to ask what I ordered but they failed to deliver what they were supposed to. The manner was arrogant and was not friendly at all. Highly recommend not to go

The food here actually tasted pretty good and we ended up staying for a few beers since they had the college football playoffs on. If you’re in town and are wanting to watch a sports game this is the only place we noticed that had TVs.I would like to preface this review by mentioning that I have eaten at and reviewed hundreds of restaurants all around the world and this is the first time I’ve ever complained about cleanliness. I understand and accept that there are different standards in countries outside the US and I would often actually argue that health standards in the US are excessive.The cleanliness at Wanaco was unacceptable though. We are pretty sure they served all of our food in used dishes. There were smears of food on the dishes that didn’t belong to any of the food we ordered. For example, our ketchup dish that came with our fries had crusty mayonnaise looking sauce around the inside with ketchup squirted on top.The bathrooms were also a terrible health hazard. You can’t flush toilet paper down the toilet and they didn’t provide bins to throw the toilet paper in, so people had thrown their used toilet paper all over the ground in huge piles. My wife used the woman’s and it was in the same state.We were here on New Year’s Day, so maybe it was extra dirty because of New Year’s Eve celebrations. Still though, the thought of the chefs using that bathroom and then cooking our food and serving it in dirty dishes is gross enough that I’ll never go back or recommend anyone go for food. The state of the bathroom and serving dishes were outright disgusting, and I would imagine the kitchen was in a pretty terrible state as well. Go for a beer and to watch a game if you ave no other option.

Food wasn’t that good, no salad on either burger, chicken tasted old. The service was also poor, the staff were friendly but there was no care taken, we had to fend for ourselves and everything took forever. Seemed severely understaffed. Sadly would not recommend. There are better places in town.

Really nice bar! Ambiente is great and the service is friendly and helpful. The food we had was good but it could have a more delicious sauce for it, that‘s all. Really enjoyed our stay!
