Trader Vic's - Polynesian restaurant in Muenchen, Germany
Trader Vic's in Muenchen
Description
Privilege
Cocktails overpriced and do not taste good. Strong not well balanced drinks, like mixing shots of hard alcohol that do not go well together. Payment at the end wasnt smooth: machines not working and had to pay with cash
MoreI was told this place was legendary..Drinks were good, atmosphere is special, but food is substandard at best. Food that youd find at the Asian joint at the corner, not necessarily better quality, Service so so, particularly for this price range.
MoreWent there for diner and cocktails. The food was okay but not worth the price. Cocktails are alcohol-strong but not well-balanced and thus not enjoyable. The staff wasnt friendly nor attentive.
MoreGood drinks! Ambiance is ok, but I’ve seen better in America.
Four drinks for €70 (including 13% tip - standard in Germany/Austria). Poorly shaken drinks were warm, which led to over-dilution from the pebble ice. Their signature cocktail was a Munich Sour, but missed the mark using fruit brandy, no bitters and no egg white. I expect Trader Vic locations to be pricier than most bars around, but this one severely disappoints compared to others Ive been to.
MoreWent here yesterday for dinner. Unwelcoming service and we had to eat in the bar area because they said the restaurant was full . The restaurant was NOT full at any time we were there .Food was way over priced and below average.Over rated, over priced, dark, dismal , poor food and service to match .Give this place a miss !
MoreCool viby tiki bar. The drink I had wasn’t very good
Lovely and friendly staff and food is amazing
Went there for a business dinner. Restoran is located in the basement of the hotel. They have a vast variety of cocktails in cool glasses and very diverse menu. I ate a combination of fish and meat. Portion is very big and delicious. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. Would recommend. 😃
MoreGreat place for cocktails!
Absolut fabulous food. Polynesian Cousine (Asian). Great atmosphere. I was very pleasantly surprised of the whole concept!
MoreGood food and cocktails! Cool interior and decor. Not entirely satisfied with the friendliness of the employees.
MoreStep back in time. You feel transported to another time in cocktail history. Drinks are spot on and the decor is Disney-esque (thats a good thing). Service is impeccable.
MoreGreat evening with superb service and great food. Ill be back!
A fancy location in Munich with great ambiance. The service was not the best, but not too bad.Found the cocktails good, food was not up to the mark and definitely over-priced.
MoreGreat Polynesian food. Super cocktails, but be careful. They are very strong
Went here as part of a deal otherwise wouldnt have visited the place. Food was mediocre at best. Service was ok but not outstanding. I felt like being at a TGI Friday for adults. Menu is heavily overpriced for what it is. Didnt like the food experience , mostly sugary sticking sauces. Portion size small.
MoreCosy bar atmosphere.. It takes you to Hawaii vacation mood.. Original cocktail selection, beautifully presented. The menu is great and short 👌🏻👌🏻.The Thai satai and the shrimps mimosa were excellent.. served with exotic chips..Serving till late which is amazing and rare in Munich ..Worth the price.
MoreI personally loved the food, which is a mix of different countries. And the venue, very nicely decorated, and intimate. You would never think youre in the middle of Munich. Would definitely come back. Not on the cheap side, but worth it.
MoreTasty food. Not sure about what kind of cuisine it was but everything tasted amazing. The interior has an African accent. Its dark inside but the atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant.
MoreThe original tiki bar concept, albiet it originated in Oakland, CA. They have great crab rangoon and spare ribs.
MoreGood range of drinks, but no smoking area.
This is my 4th Trader Vic’s experience and it did not disappoint! The staff was so friendly and the food and of course tiki drinks were delicious! The appetizer sampler we split was very yummy and all the drinks were amazing! Nice break from the typical German beer gardens to escape to this gem and enjoy island music and drinks! Great time! 🤩🥰🍹🍹🍹🏖🏝
MoreGreat drinks and ambiance but lackluster service. The young Spanish guy was super friendly but the older bartender was rather grumpy.
MoreVery good place with excellent drinks and food !! Staff very friendly and polite! Definitely recommended!
MoreAn amazing place for cocktails in Munich. I came with my colleagues and the place was not crowded and we could easily find a table for us. The place is very authentic and traditional. The management has maintained the place very well. I reccomend this place.
MoreAmazing dinner. Loved the mixed starters!!
Best Place in Munich! Try Crab Rangoon and Chocho! .
Very traditional Polynesian restaurant. Amazingly decorated, cosy and sophisticated at the same time. The menu has a wide range of options and the service is good. I had the Surf and Turf, which was really great.
MoreThe starters and drinks are to die for ! I highly recommend for the starters. Main course can be improved. Nice atmosphere and very attentive staff.
MoreGreat drinks and atmosphere. Friendly bartenders.
Maybe my most beloved place for a good drink. The cocktail menue is very unique and so delicious. The food is incredibly good. It is certainly worth the slightly higher prices. Also the ambiente is just so cute and lovely. Dont miss out on this awesome bar. Enjoy!
MoreTiki drinks were delicious but small, and the prices were a bit steep. €13 each with a lot of crushed ice
MoreQuite expensive. Nice atmosphere, but the alcohol-to-euro ratio isn’t high enough.
MoreOur favorite Restaurant in Munich 😍 dive in into tasty exotic drinks and a variety of mouthwatering dishes 😋 the interior style fits also the theme and if you want to just hang out at the bar.. there you will find still another menu and enjoy a relaxing time 🎶
MoreGreat Cocktails. Slow food service. Staff not very friendly. Pricy for what you get.
MoreOverrated...Given the location in a 5* hotel, the price range and the name one would expect top level cuisine and service. However the dishes were ok (first course Sate sticks and WanTanto poor (Canton duck was lukewarm and dry). The service was very poor. The best days are over.
MoreVery nice setting with friendly service staff. Didnt feel the pricing of the meals was justified though. Order carefully. When I asked for the Wi-Fi password, I was told no because I was not a guest at the hotel upstairs. This was a terrible management decision in my opinion. Our meal was almost 500 Euros yet I wasnt given access. This was just wrong and should be reconsidered.
MoreGreat variety & quality of the food. Good seasoning. Interior (in basementhas a nice Polynesia style. Service was crap!
MoreNothing like what it was 😢Cocktails and sauces and soups etc are all watered down, service has deteriorated, food luke warm - only the prices have gone up. Very sad. This used to be an absolute favourite, absolutely terrific: fantastic polynesian cocktails, amazing seafood, some of the best starters, soups, curries etc available. Now all the love has gone ... only cost-cutting/corner-cutting seems to be their motto now. Go elsewhere (as did most others: one used to have to book long in advance, now the restaurant was half empty). So sad to see this massive decline.
MoreHidden gem in Munich. Difficult to find little oasis inside and under Hotel Bayerischer Hof.A Polynesian paradise with potent cocktails to match. And if youre after something to eat. There is something from every Asian nation in the South Pacific.Tasty flavours and sizable portions! Bookings a MUST.
MoreVery cool place to eat and the food is quite tasty. However our unfriendly service, high prices and small portions left us hungry after spending 100 dollars. We did enjoy our experience as we were distracted by good company. But we had to ask for our drinks twice since they were forgotten. Eventually we got our drinks at the end of our meal. :(Dispute the service issues and small portions the food was good and the ambience was excellent. After coming here one time I probably will not come again as the food selection in Munich is excellent and there are many new age Bavarian restaurants that come with fair prices and excellent service.
MorePricey, but delicious. I love the drinks and the food is higher quality than similar places Ive been to in the US.
MoreGreat cocktails and snacks in unique surroundings. You should go there if youre looking for good, strong cocktails at a relatively high price (as expected from a bar located in this hotel).
MoreVery good food and excellent drinks. The prices are high but worth the quality.Very central location. The service is fast and friendly
MoreQuite rude staff. Place was empty, but "full"for reservations. They were very unaccommodating when we suggested options such as eating at bar, taking a quick meal for a table with a later reservation, etc. We even came back and an hour later they only had 3 tables of customers, they clearly could have served us. But the most frustrating thing is that they were quite abrasive when discussing options.
MoreCheap alcohol, watery cocktails and the unfriendliest and most pretentious service you can imagine. The area is full of better alternatives!
Morevery nice location with a bit old school polynesian ambiance. Like in a time machine. We had great cocktails (Mai Taiand a nice asian dinner. The service was perfect and we will come back for sure
MoreGreat cocktails. There are also cocktails for 2 or 4 people like the scorpion for 32€ for 4ppl. Pricy but appropriate for the location. Cocktails are about 11–15€.Food is good but rather snack size instead of a full meal.
MoreNot bad for a global chain that is successful with its Polynesian style for that long. The drinks are not cheap but you get a lot of alcohol for you money. I enjoyed an great evening with friends.
