Railroad-themed spot with a patio bar serves modern Southern dishes & down-home comfort food.
Excellent food, excellent service, had a wonderful time sitting on top outside, very nice.
The meal was fantastic and the fried pickles were to die for. The best I have ever had.
Parker was an amazing and sweet server! She recommended the fried green tomatoes and the ahi tuna nachos! These appetizers were amazing😍😍 10/10
I love the local places and Trackside does not disappoint. I had the burger and it was fantastic! Sweet potato fries are above par. The Mac n cheese dishes are amazing too! Atmosphere is great and it’s a place you can go eat, enjoy friends, and chill. My husband ordered steak and the steaks are a little thin, but the flavor was good.
Trackside Grill is one of my Kennesaw favorites. Great menu, fresh food, good prices. I love the crab cakes and spicy chicken sandwich, which are my go to meals when I stop in for lunch. Check them out, tell them Eric Berry with Fathom Realty sent you.
NO. There is NOTHING special about a block of meat (meatloaf), not cooked green beans and water downed mashed potatoes slathered in some good gravy. Very disappointed. Also, no takeout silverware. Step it up.
Good food. Excellent service. Sat on patio on roof.
Delicious dinners! My husband and I both had the fried chicken plate and really enjoyed them. Our server, Olivia was very attentive and helpful in helping us decide on what to order - thanks for the recommendation! We will definitely be back to try more from the menu.
I went to this place for the first time. I was not exactly sure what to expect but it was my 7 year old daughter’s birthday. She wanted to try something new. When I walked in I felt maybe a little under dressed but the staff member said that I was fine. I was seated with no issue. I then sat for 40 minutes without anyone coming to our table. We didn’t have drinks or anything. I watch waiters go to tables that sat down after us and serve them. My daughter’s feelings were so hurt. I left and I will NEVER come back. The restaurant wasn’t not busy at all. I’m sure we weren’t served for other reasons that I can’t explain to my daughter right now.
Visited on a weeknight 6-7-22 early with the children. We try to get in and out before serious date night times. Food was very good, the spinach and artichoke app was devoured by our table. The cuban sandwich was good, meatloaf was good ,my girls had the burgers- no complaints just a quiet table! They space out the different clientele here well. The bar folks are not bothered by the families eating dinner and there are separate spaces for large parties.Service is why I choose to eat here. Our server was great. She made great recommendations, checked on us often and was great with the children.Highly recommend the Trackside Grill.
If your reading this I hope it’s not to late. I hope you didn’t have a similar experience, like the one I’m about to describe. May 27th was my nieces birthday. After school, and running some errands she decided she was hungry and wanted to try a new restaurant. Unfortunately this was a terrible experience for her. She’s only 7 and was really excited to try this place. We were seated..being seated was the only interaction the staff had with us. No one came over to check on us, no one took the orders or even offered anything to drink. The sad part about it is, she sat and watched them be friendly and attentive to the other customers while they overlooked us. Needless to say, we felt very unwelcome and left feeling sad. What sparked me to write this review is the fact that yesterday we went out to eat somewhere else, on the way in she said. I hope they feed us and don’t treat us mean like the place did the other day. Cmon trackside thanks for allowing a child to experience racism on her 7th birthday. The crazy part about it is, she was ready to leave a tip with her birthday money. Which probable would’ve been more than the people tipped that you kept passing her over for.
Weve been going to trackside since they opened, and the last visit was the worst. We wont be back. Steaks were very fatty, appetizer was cold, sides were cold and my chicken must have been anorexic and underdeveloped. Very disappointing.
Great outdoors seating and great food. The meatloaf was crazy flavorful and the Mac n cheese was insane.
One of the best meals Ive ever had, along with great service by Jackie!
We were there last Friday for dinner. Our waiter was very pleasant and the place was clean. It was not busy and food was served on a reasonable time. However the food was horrendous! My husband asked for meatloaf - and it was a block with a very thick consistency it looked like a spam but it was tasteless. I asked for shrimp and grits - the grits were good but the shrimp was not cooked properly. We also had shrimps for appetizers and they were not good. I gave it a three star for my waiter but I will not return.
I was bummed when they were out of the meal I came for (poke nachos), but the other food I order (fried green tomatoes and chicken macwere INCREDIBLE! I’ll definitely be back!
Great service, great food. We met one of the cooks at Bernies at a bar so I wanted to try it but it was lunch time and Bernies is a dinner only place. He told me they also own Trackside and Ive passed it a million times but never had the time and inclination to stop at the same time. My wife and I sat on the roof (only patrons who did so due to lots of pollenand enjoyed a great view of a train going by and of downtown Kennesaw. The food was upscale southern. I had a pot roast that was really a lump short rib served over simple but tasty mashed potatoes with a delicious red wine gravy, pearl onion,.carrots and celery (celery must have been for flavor only it was too tough to eat). It was delicious. I also opened with a bowl of spicy crab and tomato bisque, which was very good if not my favorite soup ever. My wife had salmon with lemon caper butter sauce served over Parmesan garlic grits. I dont eat salmon and I didnt love the bite of her grits that I had but fortunately, she did.The service was upscale as well. A polite waiter in his late 20s or early 30s who has the demeanor of a helpful salesperson. He recommended the pot roast over the meatloaf, paid attention to every detail of the order including a fairly complicated iced tea setup. He also strongly reminded me of a minor celebrity but I cant figure out who it is.I will definitely use this restaurant as a meeting place for business lunches in the future and Im sure my wife and I will dine here again as well.
The chicken salad sandwich is delicious bread alittle toasted and crunchy with creamy yummy coleslaw. Our waiter was attentive and timely.
Everything was prepared to our satisfaction. Our server provided great recommendations and we enjoyed her recommended wine and steak entree. We will be back for their outdoor dining when the weather improves.
We just had an amazing rehearsal dinner at Trackside and I could not have been more happy with how everything turned out. We received so many compliments on the beautiful space and amazing food. Working with Brett made everything a snap. He worked with us to curate the menu and was very transparent regarding pricing, which was so helpful. We didn’t even opt to decorate the space further for the dinner given how lovely it was already, especially with the roaring fire going. The food was delicious and I highly recommend Trackside for any event or just a great night out!
I had both the Crab Cake and Fried Green Tomatoes starters. The FGT was a good portion but the crab cake was small and mushy like tuna salad. Ive never had one so mushy. The FGT didnt come with a sauce, like most places, but they were pretty good. The server wasnt friendly. It was just a blah experience all the way around.
Was ok. Was not busy at all. Only few tables were full (middle of afternoon about 230pmTook while to get hostess, no smiles on any of the staff, salmon was ok, little tough cuz over cooked.1/2 Spinach salad was good. Grits and spinach was good.Pretty pricey
My wife and I are here on a Friday during lunchtime. She had the catfish, grits and asparagus. I had the shrimp & grits with andouille sausage. We shared a crab cake. The crab cake was pretty good. Nothing to write home about. The entrees were really good though. No the asparagus, it was good just not seasoned as well as it should. Everything else was fantastic! The only reason they loose a star is that they were kinda slow, the servers weren’t exactly nice (they did their job but no friendlinesslastly the bathrooms had water in the soap dispensers. It was kinda like washing your hands with white water. The saving grace was their really nice smelling hand sanitizer.
One of my favorite places to eat. You can never ever go wrong eating here. The food is perfect every single time
This family run business has been open since 1970. They serve these home made corn muffins warmed when you sit down. After one bite I knew everything else I ordered would be delicious. I ordered the calamari, the potato/mushroom soup and the pot roast. This pot roast was as good as my Moms. I ended up taking home half the calamari and most of the pot roast because my eyes were bigger then my stomach. I had to try dessert too because I dont live here. I order the bread pudding delicious too. 2 bites was all I could muster. If Im ever back in this town I will most definitely eat here again.
Visited Trackside for the first time on New Years Eve 12/31/21. We had a party of 6 and the entire experience was AWESOME!!Fireplace and Christmas tree were warm and welcoming.5 of us had fillet migeon and I had the pot roast. Each steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The pot roast was like butter.Kudos to the chef and the excellent waiter!!Would highly recommend!!
Thanks, Julia B and Trackside Grill for a wonderful experience! The food and drinks were delightful, and the atmosphere was just right for my celebration with family. I think we ordered almost everything on the menu tonight, with satisfaction all around.
I have been dining at Trackside since they opened in 2003. Great staff and ownership. I am a big fan of locally owned establishments and this is the best in the area. My favorite dish is the shrimp and grits but Ive been impressed with all of their menu items. Downtown Kennesaw has made great strides in becoming a destination location and Trackside is one of the main reasons why.
Waiter was not the best. Didn’t get silverware when our appetizer came and our drinks sat at the bar and were not brought to our table until after we finished our appetizer (no water was offered either). The chips with the spinach artichoke dip were amazing! And the dip was also good. I ordered the corn and potato chowder and it was very bland, no flavor at all. My husband ordered the overpriced crab cakes (you only get two small cakesand he commented that it tasted like imitation meat. The corn around the crab cakes was not great and the greens were very salty. The atmosphere was not eagerly inviting. Felt more like if you weren’t in casual business attire or fancy attire then you were a bit out of place. Apparently, reservations are encouraged or you can sit at the bar or a high top table. I thought the lighting was terrible, too dim. I couldn’t figure out what kind of theme was going on, chill, posh dining or sports bar. Probably won’t return as this is not our usual vibe and a bit over priced for what is offered. The hostess staff was nice and inviting though.
Good and fresh Shrimps and Grits, too good. Awesome service and humble team!
The environment in the 2nd floor lacked personality. The Sun was shining strong in our eyes and it was a bit hot making the iron seats uncomfortable, and unpleasant. Now, servers saved the day! They were very hard workers, attentive and respectful. I felt they deserved a praise, because people usually complain only when things go the wrong way. I took the time to seek the lady manager to praise the servers and she looked at me expressionless and said nothing. I think the servers deserve a better manager and I deserve, at least, acknowledgement. My sangria drink was dissappointing and overpriced for the typical amount that you could expect. I did not mind much, maybe it was just that particular drink, and because food was very good.If you ask me if I would go back, I would say no, just because the rudeness of the manager. That night this manager ruined my experience at the end.
Our bartender was amazing. No matter how busy she was she stayed on top of making sure we were enjoying our visit. However for our second visit in maybe two years we watched the owner out drink us through the night. We both had a few drinks (me more than my wifebut yet the owner was downing wine faster than I could drink water. As a person that grew up around the food and wine industry this is a big negative for me and my wife. Do not get me wrong the drink menu is very good for the area and even found a new bourbon tonight that I really enjoy and in both visits the food has been on point. Both visits we have had different menu items and everything we have had has been amazing.I would also like to point out that our first visit our bartender and server were both amazing. Another of which were there tonight but we believe from talking to the bartender tonight both still work there. However again our first visit was the same as tonight where the owner outpaced me on drinks.Recommendations: the pork tenderloin was very good but be prepared the sauce is a little more tangy than you would expect but very good. The asparagus was cooked perfectly with a little bite but great seasoning. I substituted the potatoes (that comes with almost every dishfor my favorite veg broccoli, the broccoli was however a little disappointing by itself (well cooked but under seasonedbut mix it with the pork sauce and it was very tasty. My wife had the meatloaf which was very good. She did not like the gravy (big surprise she likes true southern meatloaf and ketchup but I liked it with the gravygreen beans were perfectly cooked and I mean perfect. I did not eat the potatoes that came with the meatloaf but my wife’s comment was “there was not enough”.Final notes on both our experiences:1- service has been amazing. Both our bartenders and our one server so far have been amazing. All have been college students and I think they will all excel in their careers just by the way they have cared about their currents jobs and their great attitudes. I have also noticed the same from watching all the other servers and how they treat their patrons.2- the menu is on point. All of the food we have tried so far has been very very good from the fried pickles/pimento cheese to the pork tenderloin and roast beef we have not been in happy with our choices.3- the bar menu has been fairly impressive. As a beer/liquor drinker I have not been disappointed in any of my orders, even when I tell the bartender to suppose me. The wine menu has also been very good (obviously with the 7 glasses we watched the owner down each visitbut my wife who does not really drink but has also enjoyed the 3-4 different wines she has tried.4- the only negative I have on this restaurant is the owner. He’s a very nice guy when he talks to you (not one word either visit but we witnessed him talking to other patronsbut we watched the drinking right to our face since he does it right behind the bar (which seems to make workers and patrons uneasybut he also does not let the workers do the job they are hired to do. He seems to micro manage the place up until the point he needs to go home which puts the workers on edge. I have no problem with an owner enjoying the fruits of their investment but do it as a patron or where your patrons can not see you or witness your slow decline or sobriety.5- menu prices are not over priced for the quality of food we have experienced and the menu itself is perfectly sized to provide a good quality of food no matter what your order.6- alcohol prices are very reasonable and the menu selection is pretty decent for the area. If I had any “negative” here I’d say the unpopular option that they prices are almost to fair for the atmosphere feel..I only give Trackside a 3 out of 5 stars for the #4 thought. If not for that I would give a 4.8 out of 5 for our overall experience outside of the owner so far.
Clean, great decor, food, drinks, and service. The calamari and fried chicken with mac n cheese were lovely.
Great service and the menu made it hard to select, but everyone at my table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Everything was delicious! Whatever you do, get the banana bread bread pudding...WHEW
Okay so on a Tuesday night, the crowd was a little older and quiet, but my group still had fun! The cocktails were really good and the catfish entree was delicious! The staff was really young, but sweet and attentive. I would definitely eat there again.
Love the feel of the restaurant! Food was delicious! Had some unique drink options as well. Would be special for a date night or girls night.
Well I was highly disappointed with this restaurant. They had a small beer selection and the one we wanted to try they did not even have. Then I asked for a cocktail and it was made wrong and tasted like I was drinking water. Ordered a steak n cheese with sweet potato fries and boy was that a disaster. The sandwich had no flavor at all and the fries were cold and tasted like cleaning supplies. The only this positive was the fried pickles were okay. Highly disappointed with my visit.
Very nice, cozy and relaxing restaurant. With a rooftop for extra seating. Very spacious and they have room in between seats to walk around. The food is delicious and drinks too. My service was nice and attentive. Definitely recommend.
Been coming here for years and always enjoy it. The Sunday brunch is also amazing. The meatloaf was tasty but missed a little punch and the chicken salad sandwich had a nice sweet overtone.Parking is limited and there is free WiFi but you need to ask for the code.
Trackside was recommended to me by a friend and I decided to try it out. Sat at the bar and was greeted right away. Barender was nice and knowledgable of the wines while allowing me to sample a wine. Kudo points for her. Ordered the lump crab cake for an appetizer, fried chicken for the main dish and then the banana bread dessert...the dessert was awesome and perfect. I would recommend this place as well to friends and family. Handicap accessible, clean restrooms, friendly staff and enough parking.
We ate on the small roof top patio during the Big Shanty Festival. Items we had were very good. Appetizer Homemade Pimento Cheese was really good. The chicken breast on the Cesar salad was nicely grilled and still moist. The lunch menu was very limited. But their menu is focused chef prepared foods with a fresh spinach on Southern Classic and Comfort food. Not sure if the roof top patio normally has a limited menu or if this was because of the Festival. We will definitely be back to try dinner.
Every time I drive by I always say we need to try it out. This time we finally stopped. The food, atmosphere, and staff where great. Simple menu, yet satisfying. Definitely going back for dinner.
I have dined at Trackside on more than several occasions and every time the food and atmosphere was excellent. On February 23rd I hosted a bridal shower at Trackside. There are no words to describe how wonderful the event was due to the superior food and staff. From Brittany Olszeki down to the staff that were scheduled to work that afternoon. With a guest list of 35+ it is hard to be as organized and attentive as they were with such a large number of people ordering at the same time, but they did and it was nothing short of amazing. All of the guests were just gushing with complements on my choice of venue, food and wait staff. I want to thank each and every employee that made this event one to remember.
Excellent food and presentation done tastefully. Family owned with high standards and class. Casual and classy. But not Walmart casual....lol. Im going for the brunch so Ill get back to you.
I have long wanted to try this place and I was not disappointed when I did. This restaurant is quite big, and has a dining area with a large fireplace which would be great for winter visits. The aesthetic is quite nice, with plenty of stone and a slight southern feel. The menu changes depending on the season, but they have their main comfort plates that never change. As a starter I tried the pimento cheese, which was served with humongous sesame crackers. There definitely was not enough cheese. The main dish I had was the crispy catfish, which was very tasty. I was quite surprised with the collards that came with it, best I have had. The grits and hush puppies are great as well, but the hush puppies are much more chewy than Im used to. If you want to have a nice dinner and not worry about spending an outrageous amount, this is the place to go.
Neat restaurant located in downtown Kennesaw. Great place for dinner with the family or drinks with friends after work. The food has a southern flair and the service is good. Try the fried green tomatoes, you will not be disappointed! During the cooler months there is a rooftop area where you can sit and enjoy the fireplace and some fresh air dining. Parking is limited, but there is additional public parking up and down Main Street.
I actually hosted a baby shower here and all the guests had a phenomenal time. The staff were incredibly helpful with setup, which made up for the mishaps in communication. The food was stellar and I would definitely host something here again.
The food, atmosphere and service at Trackside Grill are all top notch. Our food was outstanding - fresh, made from scratch and so delicious! It was a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary, and we will definitely return.
Skip everything except for the burgers!! Seriously, best burgers, terrible main dishes! Not the first time here either. The trout tasted like cold vegetable oil. No salt or any type of taste/seasoning to it.
Ate on upper patio. Nice. Good service and excellent food. Spinach Artichoke dip appetizer is amazing. Artistically rendered, too. Looks like a sun. Very nice.
