Toyama Onyado Nono in Toyama
Description
I loved this hotel, it has been one of my favorites in all Japan. The whole hotel is tatami mat, and you can walk everywhere in your socks or barefoot. The public onsen was a bit small but very nice, including a small outdoor pool. There even was a wet and dry sauna. Outside of the onsen in the relaxing area, there are free massage chairs that were heavenly. The hotel rooms even come with onsen style tub that you can pour the hot spring water into, if you dont feel like going to public baths. I got the breakfast buffet, and it was absolutely delicious, and included fresh sashimi and fruits.
MoreI feel my initial review of this place was too harsh. While I stand by my review about outside window facing sound proofing, the staff here went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and even offered to give me free breakfast.I simply can’t stay mad when customer service is this good. Also, the Onsen here is amazing!
MoreAmazing experience at Toyama Onyado. The tatami room is small but comfy. Cypress bath tubs are installed in each room if you prefer private onsen instead of the public one on second floor. The late night free ramen is delicious. The best part is the breakfast. I repeat, the best part is the breakfast!
MoreWe were delighted. It was a shoes off hotel, the whole floor was covered with material similar to tatami. The rooms were small but so cozy. The bath inside the room had a bath that could be filled with the hot spring water. The bath was made of cedar and I could smell the nice smell from the room. The onsen was the best hotel onsen we went to in Japan. Very surprised for the good price.
MoreFirst time staying at a fully tatami hotel, even in the common areas, toilets and rooms. It feels really welcoming and the hotel is so clean as well. The best part - the breakfast, which has a good spread of Japanese food like ikura, salmon, noodles, mochi as well as Western staples like bread and potato dishes. The onsen water was supplied to our room which made it so convenient to soak in the comfort of our room. We will be back for sure!
Morenothing to be criticized. with this price range (early oct), I had great hotspring, super delicious both washiki and yoshiki breakfast, helpful and friendly staff, free shuttle bus to toyama station, the room is in decent size but enough space, clean and comfortable. 100% highly recommended.
MoreVery great hotel with excellent service and politeness. The breakfast is delicious with wide variant of Japanese culinary, they provide salad bar, coffee machine, can drink from the tap water, they have onsen (a natural hot spring), laundry, great hand and body shampoo, clean toilet and room. they have free shuttle bus to toyama station. Everything‘s just perfect. I will recommend this hotel to anyone.
MoreThis hotel deserves 5/5 for location, rooms, and hospitality. Initially I had a room on the 4th floor and the noise from the street was really loud (the crossing signal beeping for about a minute, every few minutes). They gave me a new room on the 9th floor (top floorbut I got unlucky again as this room faces another building’s rooftop, where all the industrial sized air-con compressors are located. I couldn’t bring myself to bug them again so I just hit the sauna until I was too tired to care and finally fell asleep (but not without my ear plugs though).
MoreThis hotel is located within walking distance from Toyama Castle. The room was quite small but well equipped. No shoes were allowed in the premises as futons were laid. Natural hot spring was available in room and in public bath. The breakfast was excellent with great variations. Salmon roe and seasonal Toyama seafood were the highlights. At night, free noodles were offered by the hotel. Car parking was available nearby the hotel but the arrangement was far from satisfactory. First, I was told to park in the NPC parking at a fee. The management had not mentioned that the car parking did not accept multiple entries. We paid an hour charge for check in. Then, with clarification, the staff offered to park in a designated location at the neighboring sister hotel. Staff were friendly but very limited English speaking ability.
MoreBest hotel. They provide room in reasonable price. And its located not far from toyama station. And in lobby, if you are foreigner, you can get free trem tickets. And they have a public bath, and there is a Korean staff, so you can communicate easily.
MoreI stayed in a standard double room and had a small carry on. the room was just right. the bed is very wide and on the firmer side. there could have been a few more options for storage as there is no actual closet, just a few hangers on a bar.lots of amenities provided and 2 bottles of water a day!my room had a bathtub as well but i never used it because of the large public bathing area.the waters are at about 41C and there is a dry and steam sauna. shampoo, soap and facewash are all provided. theres a handy little basket to take your towel and clothes with you down.there are also 2 massage chairs which are amazing! 200¥ for 15 mins of magic!breakfast is pricy at 2000¥/day. the eastern food options are wide. as for western theres some sweet breads, plain cereal, yogurt and fruits. i liked the mini waffles. coffee was good too!a very big convenience store (family martis just out the hotel to the left. also, Ote Mall (which happens to be the tram stop for the hotelis just across the road with tons.of dining options.Toyama station is a straight walk down the road and you pass the lovely takaoka castle park and kencho mae park. also innumerable restaurants all around.if you miss the shuttle bus or the tram, the sagawa bus stop just outside to the left (stops numbered 9 and 10 constantly have buses stopping by that go to Toyama station.otherwise just pick up one of the city bikes parked along the road!very comfortable and convenient place to stay.
MoreVery clean and cozy. Whole building in tatami flooring including room, lift and corridor. Breakfast very nutritious and healthy. Individual room come with hot spring facility in wooden bathtub. staffs very friendly and always provide help.
MoreThe osen is very affordable! It’s only 900yen to enter but 1200 yen with towel included. The osen is quite small but good enough. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap is provided. You have to removed your clothes to enter. The female and male are separated bath house.I love the milk 🥛 vending machine. They have original milk, coffee milk, pineapple milk for you to consume after the bath.
MoreThis hotel is amazing... The whole place is exceptionally clean; the rooms a little small but with all the high end amenities. From the time you walk in and have to take your shoes off, you know its going to be great. The "hot springs" cedar tubs in each room is great and the public baths are amazingly clean with all the amenities. The breakfast buffet is also fantastic with freshly cooked Japanese foods, fruits and other yummies. One of the "best value" hotels I ever stayed in.
MoreThere is nothing can be judged here. Everything things are excellent. A new hotel with great hot spring inside. Breakfast here is amazing. Fresh sashimi, shrimp that all you can eat during a breakfast time.
MoreA hotel combined with the convenience of business hotel with fast access to main station, and relaxing environment like a hot spring resort. They have in-room hot spring as well as public bath room with traditional Japanese style.
MoreMy favorite hotel/ryokan experience of 2016.Spend a night here!!Huge surprise, unbeatable value, cultural experience, highly accessible for non-Japanese speakers and amazing staff.First of all, the hotel is very new. English signage and instructions are available everywhere with excellent translations.Very, very, very Japanese-y decor (everything is tatami and wood); you even have a hinoki onsen in your bathroom! I spent a good while just walking through the hotel and exploring everything. They managed to make it fun but not gimmicky.Complimentary evening snack is included - "half-size ramen" which was actually just right. You definitely have to add in the morning buffet - you can either have a western breakfast or try tons of fresh authentic Japanese food. They let you build your own sashimi bowls! Ive never been able to do that elsewhere in Japan. Pigged out with no regrets. Staff were super nice and seemed glad to be there. The onsen is super fun - they dont have a view but the decor is very modern-Japanese and they have lots of different baths for you to try out (massage baths, hinoki bath, outdoor bath, etc.).They provide complimentary shuttle rides to and from the station.
