Township Park - Park and Garden in Thessalon, Canada
Thanks to Drummond Island Silent Sports for doing so much to improve this trail!
Excellent lakeside sites!
Beautiful rustic spots right next to the lake allowed for phenomenal kayaking experience.
The park is first come first serve and well worth the drive to the island. Nice quiet neighbors and the sounds for the water. Couldnt ask for a better weekend getaway. Drop toilet bathrooms are well kept, water is available along with some electric sites.
Nice park with pavilion for grilling etc. Outhouse needs some serious improvements
Nice enough park but sites vary from small to big. Only electric on some sites. They dont take reservations, so you cannot be sure you will get a site when you get there.
We winter camped there. The sites are great with choices of waterfront or more wooded. We suggest on windy nights, a bit farther back from direct waterfront is best. Drive back to the far loop before you choose your spot!
Nice little beach and walking trails. Campsites right on the water, really nice place to visit!
Good camping, nice park manager also.
The nature trail is a "must see" stop for anyone visiting Drummond! The most beautiful hiking trail, itll take you through the woods, passing rock ledges and finally finding breathtaking views of the water!
We had a great stay and the manager approached us and was helpful and accommodating!
Great park, super scenic, great location, nice sites, nice fire pits, super clean water at the beaches,(watch our for leeches)Bathrooms are nice and pretty clean, but VERY stinky...VERY STINKY.
Beach is clean and maintained and the kids loved it
They say they don’t take reservations yet let two wedding parties hold a dozen sites. An employee At the park just shook his head and said he understand it either period. That’s all called manager of the park did not answer his phone or return any messages.
Great campground and access to the beach.
So nice and clean, gorgeous location, truly appreciate the fact that there are multiple sections and different types of visits you can make here. So glad we ventured to this location on our vacation
Nice little hike out to the lake.
Good little park. Not crowded at all. Great view of Lake Huron and Canada across the water.
40 sights with a boat launch and beach area. Enough trees for shade and nice tables. The "fire pits" were mounds of rocks, a metal ring would have been nice. Lots of flat areas and many of the sights have electric hook up.
Great location and many sites have power
Nice easy hike. Lots of rocks and roots. Suggest good shoes.
Nice views nice campsites can get a little muddy with rain still give it a five great rates
We spent 3 nights at the park camping in a tent and had a great time and its a beautiful park.
Very quiet. Some sites are on the water which are beautiful. Limited sites for large rvs. Some sites were a bit water logged when I visited.
Lovely campground! Even over Labor Day weekend, it was quiet (maybe even too quiet for my tasteand not packed. Many sites right on the water, vault toilets were clean. Theres a great hiking trail right in the park. Unfortunately with how high the water levels currently are, the shoreline is a bit lacking but still beautiful views!
Excellent views, beach and kayaking.
Beautiful scenery. No sandy beach though.
Beautiful campground. Not meant to take big campers in sites are small and tons of trees. If you never been there before dont go in at dark
Dirtiest campground we’ve ever encountered! Overcrowded, no management or host on site to keep guests in check with the quiet hours or available for questions. We tent camped and thankful we brought in our own water & portable potty and as the vault toilets were atrocious. Paid for 2 nights left after first night.Campsites are unkempt, trash left from previous campers left behind and lack of management in general. So unfortunate that Drummond Township would not invest in a host or real manager which represents their area. If I could leave a ZERO rating I would however it would not be based of the natural beauty of the area but the lack of care and upkeep.
Very nice place..
Had my daughters wedding right there in the park with the lakeview in the back. Beautiful scenery and great park.
Pretty little trail. Rainy and thundering. Amazing
Nice trails through forests and the shoreline. Very well marked.
Beautiful place to camp sine set at Park
Always love the views at township park!
Needs a little more space and some more picnic tables. One isnt quite enough.
Loved it .. Dwayne is a GREAT guy and keeps it very clean and nice : Scott and Alison Grischke thank u for the hospitality
This little park is great. It has a very rustic feel because the sites are mostly heavily wooded. The roads are all pretty tight to navigate too. Id recommend staying somewhere else if you have a large camper. You can see the water from most sites, but there are a lot of trees on the shoreline. Most of the sites have electricity. Quiet. It only has outhouses for bathrooms, but for outhouses they are pretty nice. If this place had showers and nice bathrooms it would be 5 star.
Absolutely love the township park!!! We have camped here several times, and plan to visit again this summer.
Great location rustic but with some sites having power. Quiet and very clean restrooms.
Spent a week here beautiful place to camp. View of water, islands and sunset.
What a beautiful campground! 48 campsites with just over 30 with electricity. Hiking trails through the woods and along the shoreline of Sturgeon Bay with amazing views especially at Sunset. Very clean with premade stone firepits at each site and "5 star" outhouses scattered around the park. The rock formations along the well marked trails and in the water are a true sight for nature lovers. Dogs need leashes but are very welcome.
Great little campground. Camped here mid June. First come, first served, self-registration. The Drummond tourist magazine indicated 31ft max length but we got in with our 35ft motorhome. A little tricky to get out, would recommend scoping out a site before driving in. Campground was almost empty, got a site right on the water. Very affordable. Did not use bathrooms. Nice ~1mi hiking trail at far end of campground. Did not see any snakes (referring to the below review). Would absolutely stay again.
Beautiful lakeside park. Just electric available but perfect for basic camping
Township park is a quiet, rustic campground hidden away on Drummond Island. If you want to get away from it all this is a good spot. Its fairly easy to get a waterfront site with great views of the channel and islands. Theres a public beach and an island you can walk out to and plenty of geocaching if you enjoy that. The best thing is there was no bugs when I was there - plenty of dragon flies around keeping the mosquito population down.
One of the best camp grounds Ive been too. Only downside is the rock in the dirt makes staking a tent difficult. Quiet with beautiful views and swimming right off the site.
Excellent views of the water and small islands.
Great views, tight spots for larger RVs but worth it!
This is a great little park! Very hammock friendly.
Ive been coming here since I was in diapers. Love this place.
