681 Main St, Buffalo, NY 14203, United States, Buffalo
Restored 1940s-era venue for indie & rock concerts in building where Sinatra & Coltrane once played.
Great staff, variety of entertainment, reasonably priced bar
Theres not a bad seat in the house. (Actually it is all standing but almost any vantage point is in close proximity to the stage.A floor level pit is surrounded by two semicircular levels that boast railings to lean on or hold a drink. Acoustic very depending on how well the band/mixers have it dialed in but can be excellent. The last band I saw I thought the sound was a bit muddy but I wouldnt fault the venue for that.
This was my first time going there went to see teddy swims and did have good time
Venue is nice sound is good staff is friendly nice crowd typical drink prices. Just know this is standing no seats .if doors open at 7 show wont start until 8.
Saw Crystal Method here and had a great time! Easy parking, reasonable drinks, nice bathrooms, and a great draft selection!
I went to see John Petrucci and had a great time. We were in general admission were able to find a spot where we had a great view. Getting in and out was smooth, and their accommodations for vapers & smokers were a plus.
Without a doubt, the best live music venue in all of Buffalo. Everyone on staff is top notch and utmost professional. They take tremendous pride in proving the best live music experience for the bands and their fans, and it shows every time you step foot in there.
Visited here while following a band on tour and this venue blew my mind! There is literally NOT a bad view in this place. There are multiple "levels" that you can stand at and watch from. The railings have little shelves so you can put your drinks on. Just outside of the music hall is a huge bar area with lots of room to hang out at. Staff is super friendly as well. Hopefully Ill be back to attend another show there!
John Petrucci & Meanstreak, Dream Theater, Wild Knights, the venue, staff and everything is perfect!
Awesome venue! The bartenders are great, and the bathrooms are kept very clean.
This location was absolutely enchanting! Given the raw amount of people who went to the concert that I went to, the line flowed quickly and smoothly. I have seldom seen such efficiency. The main bar area was absolutely gorgeous with large portrait style canvases of various famous artists who have performed there. The lights were the enchanting blue and purple everywhere. The wallpaper to the floor to the ceiling was just nothing less of all inspiring. The main performance theater was acoustically perfect. I felt I could feel the music wash over me and it didnt sound cacophonous or difficult. There were various support beams that were well hidden with delightful stylizations and there was also a bar in the area as well. If you are wanting to go see a band or a show anywhere in buffalo, make this your top place to visit.
The Town Ball Room is such a great venue for a concert. We were in the bar performance room. The stage is beautiful with artwork on it that you cannot stop admiring. The lighting is beautiful and the sound to perfection. The check in safety officers have a great way of interacting with the crowd on the sidewalk. Really nice, efficient, and humorous. All staff in the venue are really nice and efficient. The restrooms are well maintained. Having the bar in the middle of the room is handy, dandy also. After the show you can hang out at and around the bar which is huge and has a great deal of character and ambience itself. You need to check out concerts and experience the performances at the Town Ball room. They always have a great line up of exceptional performers. Your night, the performance, and the experience at Town Ballroom will be outstanding and memorable.
Well maintained restrooms, good music.
This is my favorite venue for shows! If any of my favs are playing here you bet I will be there!
As youll read in other reviews, security has a huge chip on their shoulder - very aggressive, very scary. I was accosted in the middle of a show, grabbed from behind on the shoulder and told to "stop vaping"...? I dont vape - I told him that and he had the creepiest most devious smile come across his face, like he was enjoying the fact I was escalating the situation (in his mind). I told him to search my pockets if he really wanted. He laughed and said "Im not accusing you of anything - but if I see it out one more time youre out". Everyone I was with was all confused, none of us vape. Read the other reviews - youll see people accosted in similar situations.Later in the show there was some people getting rowdy on the floor - 1 guy in particular was taking it too far - the same security guard came down and from behind grabbed THE WRONG guy on the shoulder and led him out. We were all trying to flag him down, but he was bee-lining this kid out fast (who had the most confused look on his face).Ive been to 15+ shows here the overall attitude of the security has always been like this. Its never personally affected me, so I hadnt left a review until now.
Great venue, awesome staff, clean atmosphere, security maintained a strong presence for safety. My event had GA & VIP, the VIP gave us seating in a boxed location above the third/ bar level behind where GA could stand. We didn’t utilize our VIP ticket area because I wanted to be near the stage, however, it was nice to know that if we wanted to hang back we had a place to go. I don’t think there’s a bad view in the place, lots of levels, and TV screens in every possible area. I would definitely go back.
Good venue, but man I went there for emo night and that was pathetic. I guess bare minimum I expected there to be a band not some guys Spotify playlist
Great place to see a concert as it has multiple levels giving more people better views.
Nice little venue for shows. Bathrooms were clean and kept up by attendants during the concert.
Saw Avatar tonight. The venue remodeled a bit. Looks great. One of the best places in Buffalo to see a concert
Amazing concert with Ceramic Animal and The Nude Party
The security at this facility was beyond all measures. Pat, Arty and Joe were unbelievable assets to my situation at Town ballroom they went above and beyond to accommodate all my needs and serviced me to the absolute fullest. I cannot express gratitude enough to thank them for their kind deeds. I will hold these three individuals to the highest regards and all of the town of Buffalo and I thank them supremely for providing exceptional customer service. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity as it does not go unnoticed. Buffalo needs you and buffalo respects you. Thank you fellas!!!!
It’s a nice venue. Intimate setting. The acoustics weren’t the best but it could have just been for this particular show. The drinks were pretty pricey too but I guess that’s expected for concerts.
A very nice music venue with 2 separate rooms for viewing the concert. From the bar area you can watch on a large projection screen or you can watch it live from the ballroom. Really well laid out and everything was very accommodating. Highly recommend.
Such a great venue for concerts! Staff and security were friendly and there was really no bad spot to stand at. A great experience overall!
One of my favorite venues in Western NY. It isna good size, but still has that intimate venue feel to it. Also, easy to find parking nearby, decent sized bar that is usually adequately staffed, and solid acoustics for live music. Additionally, there are lots of different tiers to watch the show, so regardless of how tall or short you are, you can pretty much always find a spot. Not really a bad seat in the house.
Buying VIP big waste of money. Don’t do it! First big show for my kids was a TOTAL BOMB because of Town Ballroom etix and staff. Ruined our experience of the entire concert. Bought VIP tickets through Town Ballroom site. Paid the extra money to get in early and meet the artist. When we arrived they said we didn’t have the VIP we ordered and made us wait. My kids were so sad. Said VIP on the tickets. Paid th extra money…for nothing. On top of that the outside staff was very rude when we were trying to figure things out. Embarrassing me in front my family who were so excited to meet Alec Benjamin. When I expected things to be figured out they instead told me to be more careful reading the site when I bought my tickets. There was only two options. VIP or regular admission. Very disappointed. Recommend you find another venue to see your favorite band and they will possibly ruin the experience.
Venue is amazing.Google wont let me add the video footage for some reason.Sound is on point & the led screens are quite big! However I wasnt allowed in with an empty drawstring bag but other females were allowed in with leather backpacks the same size that had more than one pocket.Staff and security were friendly, had an amazing time with my friends.Drinks are well priced.
Security was kind of confusing, unclear and rude at the gate but once we were in the venue it was a great time! Bathrooms were very well kept, didnt have to wait long to get a drink and the bare tenders were super friendly and attentive! It was a packed show but still was able to travel back and fourth from the stage to the back with ease. Great venue overall!
Great venue but security is way too aggressive and rude. My girlfriend and I were enjoying the show when a security guard said we have to leave. When I asked him why, he got really aggressive and physically started pushing us towards the exit with no explanation. We weren’t causing any problems. Once we got to the exit we talked to other security guards and they realized that we weren’t causing any problems and allowed us to stay. I understand security guards need to make sure everyone is fine, but I don’t appreciate being physically pushed to the exit and being threatened to get tased while I was simply asking why we were being escorted out, and receiving no clear answer until being escorted all the way to the exit, just for them to realize that we were fine.
Ive been to many shows there. Great time, clean, staff friendly. Very streamlined admission process even with the vaccine card check. Bars in convenient spots. Not a bad seat in the place.
Great venue, Great sound. The staff is Very nice, accommodating their guests. Keep up the great work!!
Great mulit-tier standing area above a large "pit" closer to the stage. Makes for easy viewing of the show from anywhere. Large bar in the lobby area where merch tables are set up with 2 more small bars on either side in the concert area.
We went here in January for a rock show. Doors opened 30 minutes later than what we printed on our ticket. Wasnt cold out so no big deal. Good beer selection for $5 pours. Cheaper than some other venues Ive been to. I like the way the venue is set up with the decline floors which is helpful for people that arent tall. I was to the left of the stage which was perfect.
I must have been in a hurry when I simply typed "fun venue." I really like the place and if I still lived in Buffalo would frequent it a lot more often. Have to get home to Rochester now though
Like this venue for its intimate setting and good security. $5 for a 12oz beer is a bit much, at least offer a 16oz draft. But no. Otherwise good. Pictures are from The Glorious Sons concert last night.
Great venue, typical crowded smoking area and the stage area has that musky ol beer smell so its feels like all the shows I used to go see at the dives when I was young. By no means is this place aesthetically comparable to a dive. Cant wait to go back
AWESOME VENUE!! One of my absolute favs. Great place, friendly staff, awesome stage and layout. I love coming to this place for concerts.
The number one venue to see a concert in Buffalo, hands down. They are quick and efficient getting people in the doors. An excellent bar area outside the main spot where the bands play. They have 3 tiers of standing room and you always have a good view of the stage. Whenever I see one of my favourite bands is playing in Buffalo, I always hope that its at the Town Ballroom.
This place may have some of the best acoustics Ive come across at an Upstate NY venue. I saw my favorite band here last week, and the sound was so clear with an insane amount of depth. The only reason Im giving four stars here is because several of the staff were particularly abrasive, and it threw me off a bit.
Went to here to see Cody Jinks and had an exceptional time. The owner Arty and his security staff including Chris were friendly and extremely professional. The acoustics and view of the stage were great and everybody has a view of the performer. It is important to be aware that this is a standing room only venue except for the VIP section and a smaller handicapped seating area. I look forward to my next visit to Town Ballroom.
A great place to see a heavy metal show. Beer is a little pricey. But thats nothing new for a music venue.
Simply put this is a superb venue. We came in from a few hours away to see a show here. We ended up having an issue with our tickets and had to contact the venue. The staff was very friendly and went above most venues for us to make sure we could still see the show. Even with out the awesome box office staff everyone was great. From bartenders to security to the bathroom attendants everyone was friendly and helped with a great experience. There was a bar in the main area that was big enough to handle the crowd for a sold out show. There were two additional bars in the stage area, one cash only and one took cash/credit. There isnt a bad spot in the stage area to see the stage. It is multi leveled with stairs going down to the floor area so even if youre short you can get a view. The sound was really good and it was an over all fun experience. Will definitely make the drive back to see a show.
This is a great venue to see a live show. The room is relatively small so it feels more intimate than some larger spaces and the audience space is raised in tiers so everyone has a good view of the stage. Would definitely go again.Bar service in the front space of the theatre, the old lobby from when it was an actual theatre. The front bar takes cash or credit. There is a bar in the music space but its cash only.Sound can be a bit loud if you have old ears but the sound people did a good job. I did throw in a pair of earplugs just to make it a bit easier on myself.Decent womens bathrooms...didnt make it into the guys bathroom. 😁
Great theater for live music. The stage is sunken in....makes for good sound /views...reasonable beers an lots of bars help as well
I had heard about this place for years, but this was my first time there. Great general-admission, standing-only venue for live music. Sound was great. Clean bathroom & fast bar. Id definitely go back there to see another show.
Beautiful venue and the sound system is phenomenal. Im from Toronto, and my friend and I drove down to Buffalo just to see Hippo Campus play Sunday October 21, and my God I felt the energy and spirit in the room reverberating through the music. The bands engagement, music, venue and the sound system gave me positive vibes everywhere. I left the venue feeling on top of the world. It was an awesome concert. Highly recommend shows here!! Best live show experience, so far.
Ive only been here once, for the Flogging Molly concert, but it was amazing. The security that checks you was courteous and not rude, the bathrooms were nice and clean, and they also have an attendant. I dont know if theres any place to sit down or if its standing only, but I didnt mind and I didnt feel crowded. The drink selection seemed alright, I dont know if they have different selections at each different bar though, I think theres three of them. Overall a very lovely place.
Always the best shows and best service all around, I’ve seen so many bands and artists here and have never been disappointed. Metric was by far my favorite show to see because it was intimate and i got to see an amazing band and artist in a somewhat smaller space but the list is endless. Tonight I saw K Flay and that has to be another highlight for me.
Great mid sized concert venue always packed with awesome touring bands. Highly recommended for out town guest and locals alike! The band X one night and the Get Up Kids two days later. It doesnt get better than this!
