74-76 Tower Bridge Rd, Bermondsey, London SE1 4TP, Valabhīpur
Established Indian restaurant with classic decor, for Tandoori dishes and Anglo-Indian cuisine.
Exciting and enticing dishes with a twist to satisfy subtle Indian flavours that we prefer. A good choice of vegetarian options as well with a nice assorted choice of breads as well. The staff were very much approachable and were very kind. Overall a comforting experience both as a customer and as a foodie ;)
Enjoyed Tasty tandoori chicken with fresh Nan Bread at arguably one of the best indian restaurants in London… an institution I would say and other Londoners would agree too… has been on Tower Bridge Rd since the 70s and still run by the same family!
Good food and reasonable prices
Just come home from our first experience at Tower Tandoori - Exceptional! The service was friendly and efficient and the food was 10/10 all round .. everyone in our party was impressed! A really nice treat, easy location and would 100% recommend and will be returning. Thank you!
Excellent food, very friendly staff. Cant wait to come back.
Amazing quality of food and ambience! Would highly recommend this place!
Fantastic food at this beautifully set restaurant. I have been to many Indian restaurants but I have to say their food and service has been outstanding. Totally recommend this place to anyone who desires good food in a great environment.

Fantastic food and excellent service. The tikka masala was so tasty, like no other Ive had before! Dont forget to have an onion bhaji!
The food was very flavoursome and authentic! The lamb chops were perfectly cooked and the chicken tikka butter masala was amazing! I would recommend visiting!
Very tasty food and friendly service here. Love their lamb (mutton something JoshIt was so good! Will comeback!
One of the best Indian food restaurants in london! The staff are wonderful. Highly recommended
Went there for dinner. The place had a decent ambience and staff were very welcomingTheir Lamb Biriyani which we ordered was passable; had generous amount of lamb cubes and came with a potato curry which wasn’t great. We also ordered a chicken curry which was tasty but felt more like home cooked chicken curry rather than what we expected. Ordered garlic naan, which was soft and flavourful.Totally bit on the pricy side. Could do better for the price though.
By far the best Indian food! It was so delicious and everyone is so nice and gentle. Loved to eat there and will definitely come back. Big love to everyone who’s working there 🫶🏼
Wanted to love it but unfortunately it was disappointing. On the plus side the chicken jalfrezi was really tasty but all other dishes, vegetarian, were very bland with little flavour. We ordered a bottle of champagne, one of the poured glasses contained an insect and so our waiter took it away and said hed speak with the manager. The glass of champagne never returned and it was only at end of meal, when queried, were we then offered a glass of red/white as ..."cant open another bottle and offer a replacement glass". Not a great experience.
Tower Tandoori - best Indian food in LondonWent during a recent visit to London because it was so close to Tower Bridge and easily accessible from London Bridge station. The restaurant is 45 years old and really does live up to the reviews! They have also had an amazing refurbishment. The new toilets are luxury and the new bar is just WOW!The food is tasty, fresh, delicious and generous! Thanks a million for an amazing time!
Excellent food and great customer service. There was a small issue with a dish and it was dealt with very professionally and to our satisfaction. If I lived nearby Id definitely be back.
I have recently visited this indian restaurant.I must say the food is outstanding and delicious. My favourite dish the shashlikThe newly referbished restaurant and bar looks amazing.Definitely recommend to anyone in London Tower bridge area
Excellent food and the staff were so kind and helpful especially with my accessibility requirements. Very nice atmosphere I would definitely go again
It was amazing service. Top. The food was also great, and I went to celebrate my graduation and they gave me chocolate ice cream. Everything was very good, good Indian food and nice service, very attentive waiters.
Abouslute SCAM. I had the chicken tikka trio, it was like alien food. You get one thats green, one thats brown and one thats a color youve never seen before. I also had the butter chicken, it was bland and had no seasoning in it whatsoever. The staff were so rude and non attentive, we said we werent satisfied with our food and they didnt care about it, they just gave us the bill and didnt seem bothered at all. No questions asked about what they couldve improved on. I am scared for the future of my bum. I literally felt sick eating that monstrosity. Hopefully I dont end up with food poisoning. How did they stay in business for 40 years? Ill never know 😐😐😐🤬🤢🤢🤢🤬🤬🤬
After reading the first few reviews i was so excited to try tower tandoori with my familyWELL.....i was firstly not impressed when i saw the bartender picking up the ice with his bare hands ,the poppodom basket the chutneys what come with them are basically sugar and some flavourings, microwaved rice, nan tasted burnt, the paneer and canned spinach was disgusting and isnt fit for human consumption ,the food presentation is awful i will stay close to the toilet tomorrow just in case even though i ate only 3 spoons fullLeft almost all of the food ask for the bill was asked if everything was ok we said no this isnt nice food the waiter walked off n brought the bill didnt say anything else to us, weird atmosphere also as soon i you walk in youll know, ended up with a tesco sandwich and £90 lighter, save your money and stay away from this place AVOID AVOID AVOID people who gave these good reviews have no taste buds DONT LISTEN
Has been a long time since I order from Tower Tandoori since their low score from food hygiene, but with a new score and so many good reviews though I would give it a try. The dishes as far as I am concerned seem to be made by someone who has read what a curry should be but never actually tried one. I found all dishes very low standard and quite honestly would have been better getting a ready made meal from Tescos. The food arrived within time and order was accurate although I had to spend five minutes making sure order was correct ( no dishes labelledas all dishes looked the same and tasted the same. Jalfrezi looked the same as a Bruma apart from it had peppers no chillies and was very Heinz tomato soup in flavour, although must admit that would be an insult to Heinz as they actually season the food. Really disappointed and feel actually ripped off I understand that each Resturant’s curry is slightly different hence no two curries are the same but there simple was no redeeming features that you could say well at least something was ok, All the dishes were Awful and feel I have been mugged.
Had an awesome experience there!!!! We went there very late, like closing time. The person in charge welcomed us and they served us without any rush, very pleasant experiences. The place was clean and the food was very tasty, more food for the price too. He even introduced us to their new chef from Mumbai.Really thankful for their hospitality & kindness.
I have orders vegetable vindaloo and it wasnt edible at all. It has no taste but spicy-like someone accidentally put whole jar of chilli into it. And yes, I know it supposed to be spicy, but I also know it has flavours other than chilli. I had vindaloo gravy many times in the past and this one was a huge disappointment.
Lots of unique variety! Would definitely recommend and go back again.Friendly and prompt service and a clean environment.
I’ve lived in London for 3 years and it’s one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in this city.Food was incredible. I don’t need to say more.Staff was superb. So attentive, so outgoing and positive, it’s rare to find a group like this in London where service charges are fixed.Could go on and on about this place. We’ll be back very soon!
Nice vibes, great service and good Indian food as expected.
Great customer service and tasty food. A reservation is recommended but we were able to get a table for 4. We tried a couple new dishes and enjoyed the meal. We will be back again.
Delicious food 😋 awesome experience 😊 good service by all staff..I appreciate their behaviour, its really a very good etiquettes ..must try this restaurant 👍
V bad service they have, taste of food is disaster.never go to this restaurant this my advice,v v bad people.Dirty and unhygienic table and chairs to seatWhen they gave us plates to eat it was v dirty and lots of yellow stains
Ordered a takeaway from here and the curry was flavourful and they were not stingy with the amount of lamb they give . Everything was decent .
One of the best curry houses in London, must-visit. Tandoori specialists (obviouslybut plenty more to choose from. Recently refurbished so even nicer than it used to be. Takeaway and delivery-friendly, pleasant staff who will leave you alone or chat as you like. Take leftovers home if you over-order. Always delicious.
A group of five enjoyed an excellent meal at this restaurant. We ordered the Tandoori Grill, lamb shanks and appetizers. Food was piping hot, and delicious. we even managed to find a very good bottle of red wine on the menu. Highly recommend.
Came here for a meal and was beyond impressed with the quality of the food and service. Such lovely and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious, tasted authentic and the portion sizes were very reasonable for the price - we got beyond our moneys worth. Would definitely recommend to anyone in search of a filling delicious Indian meal without breaking the bank.
This is a most excellent indian restaurant. We discovered it by chance close to our Bermondsey Apartment. Service and quality of dishes are absolutely superb. The young friendly owner personally supervises serving procedures. We enjoyed a beautiful array of classic starters and main courses. See pictures and you will at once appreciate what is available on offerThoroughly Recommended for a great dining experience.
Food was amazing. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Although there was a limited menu, we were told that the chef could make other things if wanted something off the menu
We had ordered Garlic naan and Vegetable Jalfrazi. The garlic naan was flavourful but bit chewy. The vegetable Jalfrazi was too tangy and sweet ,(ideally it should be spicy !and the curry had excess tomato flavour! It was bland and we had to add even salt to make its taste better ! The staff is polite and garlic naan taste was good so I am giving 2 stars !
Brilliant Lamb Shank in Bermondsey... just at the end of Bermondsey Street we found the lovely Tower Tandoori! The food was perfect and the staff couldn’t do any more (so helpful and friendlyIt’s not by luck that these lot are celebrating 40 years!!! Thanks guys.come again...
Enjoyed the food! It was actually my first visit to an Indian restaurant. I liked it a lot. Lots of different flavors that activate your taste buds :-). The service was good and they were friendly. Would recommend this place for sure.
I now know why these guys are so highly rated. Their food is good as expected but what makes the difference is their hospitality, they really go over and above to make you comfortable and check if everything is fine every minute. There was this young guy which I think maybe from owner family, he took a round of dining area around 5-6 times making sure all is good. After a long long time I have been to a hotel where they value customer service so much. The whole staff had this excellent attitude.Keep rocking guys 👍
Great Indian restaurant serving fine Indian cuisine. Situated close to Tower Bridge, a great place to grab lunch. Friendly staff and quick n nice service. Selection of food n drinks. Reasonably priced for quality. Choice of quantity which can be shared if necessary. Indoor seating and clean toilets available. Bus connections available.
Nice place this. Food came out full of flavour and piping hot. Service was really good and attentive. Cocktail was ridiculously strong and small for the money.
This will my first review but I really had to. I was so I was absolutely stunned 🤩 This restaurant I found on Google maps. I wanted to go to the restaurant because I was looking for something good for a great price and good reviews and then I found this one. My friend (Which is a stewardess and cast all over the world with Emiratesshe knews about a lots of Indian restaurants but she was so excited like me. We were came expecially to the restaurant over the city London and then we were so surprised. Absolutely AMAZING!!!!! From the beginning of this restaurant to our departure everything went absolutely amazing.Served us I think five men. We always had full glass and always asked us if everything was fine. They were all smiling and friendly. The environment was very representative, clean and comfortable. The food was delicious. We left completely satisfied. We spent a pleasant time there, ate well and met new friends. Its an honor to write this review. I will ve back again.
Visited this indian restaurant with my wife and two kids on tuesday night. We chose this restaurant based on its very good reviews in SE1 and we was impressed. We stayed at a hotel 10 mins away from Tower Bridge and easily walked to the restaurant. The food was amazing, delicious and authentic . Very nicely plated and decorated, I tried the very tender Mughlai Lamb shank and the paratha which is now my favourite dish.Staff and management were very friendly, attentive and we was treated like family. We have recommended this restaurant to our friends and family already here in the UK and hopefully will one day return.
Great food!! My spicy lamb special from chef was on point. Very tender, the meat literally fell off the bone and it wasnt overcooked. All my friends loved this place. The ambiance is cozy with relaxing music in backround. Good selection of wines and beer. Special thanks to our server Ahmed who constantly made sure that we had everything we need. We also got a complimentary desert which was delicious. It was an ice cream inside the orange which was cool. I will definitely recommend this place!
We had a meal here with old friends. All four of us had sampled a large range of meals in many Indian restaurants and we found our experience at the Tower Tandoori to be one of the very best. What is a big plus here is that your chosen dish can be adjusted to whether you like it mild, medium or hot. There is a wide range of choice on the menu and the prices are very reasonable.Staff are very friendly and willing to help you.We fully intend to back there again soon.
The decor is charming and tasteful, and the staff seem to genuinely care but the cuisine is adopted very much for the British palate rather than authentic Indian food. Prices are reasonable, but Im unlikely to return.
Stopped in for lunch because it was near where we are staying and it had good reviews. My uncle also wanted a vegetarian option which can be hard to find. We had the place to ourselves which was amazing considering how good the food is. Maybe everyone does take out for lunch. We tried several dishes, all were excellent and the waiter who served us was awesome-I think his name is Amit. If you are in the area and looking for good Indian at a fair price, check this place out.
Food was good but the staff is not well behaving. The menu rates and the rates in the bill were not matching and the staff said its the same and you have to send the last page of the menu to get the correct rates.
