Tourism Nanaimo Visitor Centre - Visitor centre in Nanaimo, Canada
Wow as a local I can say I have never been in there. As an AirBnb cleaner I wanted to get some packages together to showcase our city! What a wealth of information in there not just local, British Columbia too!! Friendly + helpful staff!
Nice to see that the washroom was open in the evening
Nice place to pull over to stretch your legs, or have a picnic. A good sized parking lot, lots of green grass space, picnic tables, walking paths, surrounding the tourism centre.
Small but very friendly and helpful !
Handy local knowledge shared by friendly hosts. Washrooms picknick tables and fenced dog run next to the walking, running, bicycle trail here.
Excellent spot to pull into with an RV for up to 3 hrs. Trails, dog park, washroom, & information centre.
My girlfriend and I were stopping by to get some information on hotels of all things, and the staff (Morgan, and Kaitlin, I believe)were very helpful. Thank you for the warm welcome to Nanaimo.
Not bad, bathrooms could use a little upgrading.
Very helpful staff, always ready with a smile. To answer your questions, with loads of pamphlets, and maps of attractions, and their location. Its pretty hard to get lost after a visit to TNVI.
It was ok. The staff were not very engaging but did answer my question
Awesome rest stop where you enjoy nature, access to trails and bike path
Clean washrooms. One on each side. Fenced dog park. Plenty of parking for large rvs, boats and trailers ect. Has so much information inside.
Easy stop, right on the highway, has bathrooms, would give 10 stars if I could
Not to busy ppl mind their own business unless someone needs helps sue to be broken down
Great meat up spot for rides with friends.
Would de better if you could rest there when your tired after the ferry
Good washroom stop on the highway.
Fricking awesome. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Great experience. 5 stars
nice place for quick stretch
We just stopped to see if trails to walk dog. No. But there is a fenced dog area. Nice.
Great off leash fenced dog park and walking trails, fantastic view.
Our experience while in Nanaimo was great every store and coffee shop we went into had great employees, pleasant and chatty, very nice to have when travelling. My only disappointment was could not find parking when pulling a trailer or I would have given Nanaimo *****.
We stop over to stretch our leg from a long drive and a ride of our escooter along the area, they are located right into the highway exit along side the big park where we ridden our scooter, staff are very knowledgeable about the area and places to check out in Nanaimo Island, theyre washroom is clean.A great stop for a quick stretch, they have concrete picnic bench and tables available around the area as well for a quick snack during your stop. Big parking lot 🙂
Great litter stop with grass and a view and washrooms. Washrooms were so-so as far as cleanliness but dont have to detour into the city to find a washroom and thats a bonus!
Devan and Jillian are two of the most awesome and knowledgeable people we ever had the pleasure of meeting. This is a must stop to give yourself the best opportunity to enjoy the most out of your vacation. Were so happy we stopped by and hope they are both valued by their employer because they are absolute gems who made us feel like family the second we walked through the door and made our vacation much better than we had planned.Much appreciated!
Picnic tables and washrooms. enclosed dog area . Paved bike trails north and south. Large free parking area.
Bathrooms are lacking however better then nothing. Great place to start out on a bike ride up and down the parkway. Busy area so careful with all the tourists and dog walkers!
Thank you for the roadside, heated toilet and dog run right beside the building. Nice rest stop. Lots of information.
Friendly informative staff, well-organized presentation of materials, clean easily-accessible washrooms. Lots of parking, excellent access to extensive local cycling and walking trails. Lovely park area for mid-travel rest and picnics. Beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.
Beautiful spot to stop and rest while on the massive trail. Offleash dog park, doggy fountain, restrooms, picnic tables, and wifi... What more do u need.
Great little view and rest area
Im going to get five stars to the staff well go out of their way to serve the public the city however of Nanaimo does not do a very good job in keeping the grounds clean
One of the many beautiful views of Mount Benson is found right here next to the highway. A little dog park is just beyond the parking lot.
A beautiful visitor centre. Friendly and informative ambassador. Outside there is a simple little off-leash park for dogs to stretch their legs. Washrooms accessible from outside, clean.
Good little spot to have a pee break and a picnic on the way up to Englishman River falls I highly recommend it its an amazing experience as well as Cathedral Grove forest as long as its open...... I dont know how the hell you close an entire Forest but I was very unsatisfied driving through there to find that all the parking spaces were gated off by 6 ft high aluminum fencing....
The lady at the centre was super nice and helpful, or so I thought. I went in to get the food trail map and asked about the breweries. She handed me the map and even wrote out the breweries and their locations for me - excellent! But then I went to go to all these places and found out everything on the food trail is closed in Nanaimo Monday-Wednesday, and that would have been nice to know prior to.
This is a fantastic pit stop while heading into nanaimo. They have 2 bathrooms which are large and accessable. They also have an off leash dog park that you can let your pets go playing in if they are getting ancy in the car. Last but most they have a very knowlegable employee sitting behind the counter eager to help with any questions you have. We talked with them for over 20 minutes and got a tonne of useful information to make our trip memorable. Next time I am out this way, I will make sure I stop by to ask all of my questions, or just for a pit stop.
Good place to take the dog for a walk, careful when going around back of the center; its steep and quite often very muddy
Pop in here if traveling in our area. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable. Its also a great place for a pit stop and even includes a fenced off-leash area for your dog. Theres even a view.
So clean! The bathrooms were nice, too. I hope the community and any tourists can agree to keep this place nice. It was so great to be able to use a clean washroom with nice amenities.
Wonderful service here, they explain you all possible things to do in Nanaimo and give you maps am brochures with suggestions
This location is small. I was in there for 10 minutes and didnt get any help. The employee was talking to a person about her B&B and their wracking fees. Which was okay but it would have been nice to be greated when I walked in the door. Overall it was just an okay experince.
This visitors centre is well placed for travellers heading up and down the island. it also provides a rest stop. There is a large carpool parking lot adjacent. Staff are knowledgeable and informative. it is well worth the stop when you are Looking for information about Nanaimo or any other place on Vancouver Island.
It a good place to walk your dog get into internet and me3y people who dont know directions. Lot of parking usually and if you know about Nanaimo.you can see some old mines over the edge going north on the trail. Bathrooms arent open all the time but clean when they are open.
Very helpful staff. The facility itself is really nice, with a small exhibition part.
Dogs always love to make a pit stop in the dog run area here. The fenced in dog run is large. The two public washrooms are also large, clean and lockable. The trails are an option also and are fun with the chance to see some wildlife.
A must stop place if your looking for information on what to do in the park. You can purchase a fair amount of Parks Canada gear and the service has always been friendly. They offer free parking, washrooms, picnic tables, and a good place to take a stretch if youve been driving for a long time to get here.
Always stop to take a piss and admire this lovely piece of hand drawn art. Would rate 6 stars if I could. WHO KILLED THE TREE?? :(
Nice place to stop and get info, maps, and stretch your legs walking around the loop with interpretive signs. You may also see a cute furry bunny or two at this rest stop.
A very useful place to stop after a long drive. There is ample parking and a very clean restroom. You can picnic and there are umbrellas over the picnic tables to keep you cool. The visitor centre has loads of information about the area and friendly helpful staff. There is also an off leash dog area to the rear as well as some sort trails where you can stretch your legs.
