Toso in Gothenburg

One of the best Asian fusion restaurants I have experienced. Everything from the service to the atmosphere to the food is just unbelievable and second to none. The fact that this restaurant doesn’t have a Micheline star is above me. I can recommend this place to anyone that likes good food, nice atmosphere and service that makes you feel like a star. Our stay in Gothenburg was raised to a new level thanks to Toso. We will be back every time we’re in Gothenburg.

Perfect asian fusion experience, every dish excellent as well as drinks and service

Excellent food and very nice staff!Had the signature menu and it was amazing. We were very satisfied and quite full afterwards, but had a little spare room for the rhubarb and strawberry desserts.

Too loud music. I could hardly talk with my wife. The waiter had difficulties understanding our order, and despite several corrections, we anyhow ended up with a dish we didnt order. Asking for the volume to be lowered we were told it was not possible. When we asked for refill of drinks, we had to order it twice, before we got it.The only reason I dont give it one star, was the food which was ok.

Good food and friendly staff, had to wait over an hour for our first dish but was worth it once it all arrived.

Overprice and the taste is very greasy, they put mayonnaise on almost everything

Amazing restaurant, great food, luxury atmosphere and unique flavor profiles. I celebrated my fathers 50th birthday here and it was a great place to celebrate with the family. Although may not be suitable for sure we young children but teenagers and up should not be a problem.

One of the best restaurants Ive been to. Has a fancy atmosphere and a unique ambiance. We just went there for drinks and lava cake late at night. The food was good and worth the try. The portions are tiny when compared to the prices but as I said it is worth it for the atmosphere. The service is fast. Staff are kind and helpful. Minus points for the lighting which is way too dark, I almost slipped on my way to the bathroom and for the expensive prices. But other than that I totally recommend this place if you havenever been here.

Super nice dinner. Small and tasty dishes with friendly and helpful service. Would easily go again.

Great food and atmosphere. Music was loungy and quite loud. Not the place to go if you want calm and quiet.

Modern trendy atmosphere. Excellent food but stressed delivery (Friday 8pm). The organization needs tuning. Half of the company got almost their entire menu before the other got their first course. Mix ups and confusion throughout. But the staff was nice and helpful. Selma from Åre 6/5 stars. Will revisit.

The best Asian restaurant in Gothenburg. Ambience is different though little bit loud. Taste is delicious and completely new (fusion of Asian cuisine). Service is also excellent and recommended the right wine related to your selected food choices.

Great ambience. Hip interior with dark tones, cool design touches, high ceilings, and a vibrant feeling. The food could perhaps be described as tapas style Asian fusion, i.e. smaller dishes meant to share. The food is excellent. In fact all dishes we have had so far have been so good that it is hard to pick any favorites.Also their drinks are fantastic, both in alcoholic and mockito variants.Highly recommended either for just drinks and a chat or full dinner with friends or a date.Update after numerous visits over several years: all the above still holds true. Also the menu seems to evolve somewhat over time which adds some extra fun to repeat visits.

Great food and experience as usual.

I have been at toso many times but everytime the musis is just to loud, could not hear the waitresses or my frineds speaking at the table. Very disappointing and the environment was very stressful. But the food and drinks was good 👍

Always an incredible experience, book well in advance or get a mid-afternoon slot. You wont regret it.Three sharing plates per person is plenty, and they are usually €10 or so per plate. Meat options are heavy on the meat, and although they look dainty they are very filling.Lighting is very muted, so be careful as you walk in. You soon get used to it though.I got todays meal as a family freebie from my employer, and this is definitely for celebrating and dressing up (a bit, its still pretty casual, this is Sweden after all).English menus available and everyone speaks English.Try the cocktails, and make sure you have a designated driver!

Two stars only because of the delicious food - but the big fail for bad service and too loud music. Bad atmosphere. For such prices and a wannabe fancy place, you cannot get a rude waitress. after they over-calculated our bill, she didnt even say sorry. Even before, she was rude and unhelpful, and the wrong order/receipt was and just turning her back to us when we said the bill was wrong. Sorry for the great chefs who she yelled at after they forgot to bring us one dish. All in all,Bad experience and way too pricy for this kind of service

Service was good, but the dishes were served inconsistently. The food is mediocre, very citrus forward and lacked other flavors.

Definately coming back. Had never heard of the place before but the menu looked interesting so way gave it a shot. Every dish was amazing, good pairing with wine and brilliant service.

This is my go to restaurant in Gothenburg. Their Menu hasnt changed much since Ive been eating here for a few years now but why change when it works. They have some delicious dishes that I always eat when Im there. Never miss: Beef Tartar, Salmon Tartar, crispy fried shrimps, the Tom Kha Gai Dumplings, edamame beans Toso style and finally a portion of Toso style rice. Just excellent.Cant wait to go back.You have to book much in advance if you want a decent time for dinner. But do not miss this place. ❤️❤️❤️

it is a trip in amazing food and drinks in a wonderful atmosphere..Maybe a bit to too expensive

Lovely spot with a great outdoor style atmosphere. Our drinks were inventive and the food was filled with fresh ingredients and a depth of flavors. I should have taken many more photos but we ate it too quickly, that should say something.

I was taken here by my girlfriend, and the food was well cooked and seasoned, if I got any criticism is that the food came to the table very slowly we didn’t have two dishes at the same time in the table six dishes arrived very far apart, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Very nice ambience. Food also tastes good. Less vegetarian options. The service was too slow. Plating was impressive. Expensive restaurant with less quantity. Usually crowded so better to have a reservation.

It is obvious why this place has a high rating, nice location, ambiance and🍹. But that does not compensate for the tasteless salty fried food. You can never go wrong with Edamame, Padrons and Shrimp chips, those were made nicely. But the rest of our order, crispy rice (tasted like fat), spring rolls ’högrev’ barely had any meat or taste of ginger and lemongrass. vietnamese shrimp rolls were OK nothing special. Bulgogisallad entrecote just tasted like Salt! And soft bun fish had a really bad taste of fish (reminded me of the school cafeterias ’fiskbiffar’🤢Service was nice however👍🏼.

Henny was fantastically helpful from pre-dinner cocktails to Japanese whisky afterwards.

Foodgasm in a great environmentThe restaurant has a very nice, elegant look.The waiters are kind and nicely dressed.The menu card is comforting. It guides you through the options and highlights that the waiters are there to help if in doubt. And indeed the do help.The serving, the flavors, the textures are just perfect.It is not cheap but a unique experience will return!

Excellent food , as per reviews and foto’s. +1 for setup COVID distancing rules. ( tables etc ).Fast and clean service , we orders fried Rice ( specialty, duck pancake , fried chicken and pork bun. Excellent we enjoyed.

Delicious Asian fusion! The crispy rice with tuna was very unusual yet really really good! Nice cocktails as well.Hip vibe and music - we liked it!Good value for money - we will definitely be back!

The food is not as impressive as the high prices, but the "råbiff" is excellent. The terrace part is very loud, the sound level feels more like a bar. Also I got my side of rice after all the other dishes.

Beautiful place! The food was world class, drinks held a high standard as well. The place was a bit dark and hard to see the food and my companions, music was one or two bars to high for conversation to be natural sound level.

Very nice environment and good fusion food. Definitely worth visiting and especially recommended in the evenings.

One of my favorite restaurants in the whole world. Beats lots of renowned places and what amazes me is how they continue to present the same dishes in new ways. Not a surprise that it’s fully booked every weekend.

Excellent food and service (at least most of the servive)! And the background music was one of the best so far. Not to overwhelming and actually good music.

This is a restaurant trying to conquer the pan-Asian cuisine but sadly - for its price - it was not as good as anticipated. The restaurant is placed extremely centrally in the heart of Gothenburg, the interior is dark and the decorations impressive. The food looks very nice but you are required to order approximately 5-6 courses (for two peopleto become full. I would recommend it for taking a drink but for eating there are better options available

Great atmosphere with Chinese, Japanese & Korean cuisine. The interior is really nice and different. Staff was also friendly.

Excellent service and food tastes amazing. Try as much as possible, you will not be disappoined. Staff is really welcoming and know their stuff. Will cost you more than average but the experience is totally worth it.

I was impressed with the restaurant itself. Its clearly popular that we have to wait at the bar 15 minutes past our reservation time. Luckily the bar offers so much drinks.

Great food (recommend: korean BBQ and brisket softbun), great cocktails (picture:coriander daiquiriand great staff (good advice and very friendly). Simply a great experience. As it is very popular, it can be also very crowded. So make sure to reserve in advance. We got lucky to get a table last minute (if it is fully booked on the website, you might be lucky as well by giving them a call).

A really nice Asia-fusión restaurant in downtown Gothenburg. The interior design is really cozy and service was really good. Something to notice is that the menu is quite seasonal so it’s a place to go not that often otherwise you will repeat quite a lot!

This is a gourmet place in a higher price range.Very delicious food and good atmosphere. Its strongly recommended that you split the food between two persons and try to taste as much as possible.The local is both trendy and relaxed at the same time. The staff is very service minded and will be able to recommend you which dishes that fit together.Strongly recommended!

Probably my favourite restaurant in Gothenburg. Everything from the food to the location and service is close to perfect, and I dont understand why this place (as of writing thisdoes not have at least one Michelin star.Be aware that its relatively hard to get a seat here, and you usually have to book at least a month in advance. Also be prepared to spend a lot of money, but it is money well spent.

Salt, deep fry and mayo. If these are your favourite ingredients and cooking style you can’t go wrong. Considering all the hype and great reviews, my wife and I ordered the sharing menu which, reasonably priced, offers a number of sampler plates. However, we found most of the dishes to feature lots of salt and creamy or mayo based dressings, which was very disappointing. Ingredients are buried. Apart from the disappointing food, we really liked the experience, with good service and energetic atmosphere with loud lounge music. Toso is clearly a copy of restaurants such as NY’s Tao and STK, which may be good.

The food is super delicious!! Asian fusion style. I love it!! Be prepared to reserve a table weeks before.

Great experience! Fantastic drinks, you must try them! Food, Asian tapas with a taste sensation. Cool interior design, good music, a lot of people. Make your reservation in advance.
