Show up, be polite, if you need to ask questions of the staff, do so with respect. Then everything will be fine. You treat it like a dive and youll get bounced out so hard just with the withering glances.

Amazing, best beer selection I have ever seen in a bar.

No accommodation. Fun times. Good beer. If you like what you like and know what you like youll have fun. If you need a taste or a half pint look elsewhere. The Berlin sausage shop next door rocks. If its open check it out.

Beer selection unparalleled. Novice drinkers beware! If you approach the bar without knowing your exact order and having cash on hand your are at high risk for public derision. They have fairly up to date tap list on their website to assist with the lack of information on their board. It can be an ego hit, but there are very few better beer in SF let alone anywhere around

This place doesn’t seem to be friendly or welcoming to people from out of town. I went 2 days in a row thinking the first day was perhaps an anomaly but I was mistaken. The bartender on the second day was especially rude and impatient when I tried to find my cash to pay for the beer. And he genuinely seemed bothered that we were there. And in contrast appeared friendly to the regulars. I’m sure they don’t care about negative reviews but just trying to inform other out of towners. Coincidental that this is literally the only place in SF that ever asked for our ID. We won’t return.

I like the old school dive bar atmosphere in this place. Combined with an excellent rotating tap list, this is a great place for serious beer folks to enjoy a pint or two in the lower haight. The beer selection is very diverse and the prices are good for the high quality product you get.Cash only so be prepared. Outdoor seating is excellent in the afternoon (if the sun is out)

Epic beer bar for anyone that loves a good pint they have never seen before and probably will never see again.

I dont generally give reviews but had to for having the worst customer service experience EVER. Living so close to them, I was looking forward to supporting this local bar but happily never going back there or recommending it to anyone.

Still the same after all these years, this place is the center of the craft beer revolution and has been doing it since before it was cool.It’s very rock’n’roll with a punk vibe, loud music is the norm.If you go here, don’t be pretentious, don’t “check in”, don’t ask stupid questions, don’t use big words, just order your beer.Bring cash.Tip well.Rinse and repeat.It’s just beer.

Cracking down to earth Lower Haight bar. Cash Only but there is a cash machine in the pub that supplies at a reasonable rate. Also bring your ID card, no matter your age.Lovely quality craft beer list; even a cask hand pulled beer when I was in, though it was served a little warm for my tastes.All selections I had were excellent and reasonably priced for the city.

Selection of beers is both wide and high quality. Came here for Pliny the Younger, and even though they tapped out for the night, the 2 random back up picks were both great and the list is awesome. Kinda punk, kinda blue collar garage, kinda local vibes all blended together. No frills beer experts in a busy/crowded spot and nice bouncers.

I love being told “nope, get up and look at the board” when trying to be friendly with the bartender and ask for a recommendation during slow hours. It really makes this shell of a dive bar feel like the real deal!

Bartenders are only rude if you walk in acting like you set the rules. Know what you want, have cash, and dont be afraid to ask a quick question as long as you arent holding up the (usuallyonly person behind the bar

Best place for beer in the City. Cash only. Their tap list is legendary and they routinely have Alvarado St. 4-packs for sale. I love this place and will go every time I visit the City.And when its time, if you want a great beer week experience, make sure you make it to Toronado. Legend.

Good selection of beers and some ciders. Plain bar (no foodwith lots of personality. They were watching a Marvel movie when we stopped. Not a sports bar. It seems to cater more to a regular audience.

The stouts!! 🤯 I had two stouts from this awesome dive-bar and I had a great rest of the night:They had seating outside due to COVID and was awesome to be out there u see the trees. They require ID and take CASH ONLY. They have some amazing local brews. If you are in SF, you need to grab at least one drink from here.

Nice place! Was funny cuz I went there for a few drinks and turned up in a Monday movie! Everyone was quiet watching a movie! They have q bunch of beer to pick from !!!! Prices really good ! Defo I’ll come back

Friends took me there for some limited beer release which was cool, the bar was super packed so I didnt get a great feel for it, seemed like a pretty cool low key heavy metal bar.

The craft beer selection is among the best in the city, and it has a very fun atmosphere featuring loud music and typical other ambiance of what youd expect in a bar on Haight Street.

Had two of the best beers Ive ever had. This place has a killer selection and a relaxed unpretentious vibe. Nice to still have some straightforward neighborhood bars that are handling business and serving great beer. The fact that you can bring in sausages from next door - Octoberfest all year long.

What a place! Was really excited to visit and loved it! Sometimes bars spend a lot of money to get the right atmosphere, Toronado doesnt do that, but has atmosphere and character in abundance!Its the kind of place that lets their beer selection do the talking...and it talks a LOT!Could easily have spent the day admiring the Beer Taps on the wall!A place not to be missed!

This is truly a dive bar to visit in San Fransisco. The customers vary greatly. Young, old, gruffly. Best selection of Ipa beers and very reasonably priced.

Amazing choice of beer. The bar tender gave a wonderful recommendation bassed on the beers I like. Also was able to get an amazing ( one of the best burgers I have ever hadfrom the place next door and enjoy it here. Walk-in you almost feel like your in a time work. Will be back next time Im in the Bay area.

Toronado easily lives up to its status as a legendary American beer bar. Cash only. No food (but you can bring in; theres a great sausage spot next door). Huge selection of taps and some classic bottles in a wide variety of styles. Knowledgeable staff. Eclectic mix of people all here because of their love of good beer.

Unique tap room that has one of the best selections in San Francisco. Large space that can accommodate bigger groups, but nothing gets too crazy as the staff keeps the place under control. In addition to the tap list, they had a good selection of local cans and bottles to buy.

Best beer selection and the rudest bartenders. Went on a craft beer tour through Heights and although this pub is on their list, they said they are not coming here anymore. After visiting on my own I can totally understand why.

Amazing selection of beers. Very average service both behind the bar and from the bouncer. Theres a great vibe but it can get very noisy so its not really the place for a quiet drink. Dogs are welcome :)
