My friends and I were looking for a nice Spanish food place and found Toro. Beautiful ambiance, and delicious food. We made a reservation for patio seating and it was perfect. The sauce used on Gambas al Ajillo was unique and delicious (I am trying to recreate one on my own). The Bone marrow is a must-try if you are looking for a good experience. Paella is one of my fav food and this place has nailed it :)Recommendation: Make a reservation, Paella. Definitely a good place for a date night.

Our group enjoyed our meal so much. Tapa style dishes are all well designed with savoring flavor and artistic look. The bone marrow goes awesome with the bread. Lambs were tender and juicy, shrimps were tangy and fresh, and the fish tastes so good with aroma from the olive oil. Highly recommend to any group who would like to try various selections of tapas.

We were pleasantly surprised to be able to sneak in without a reservation on a Saturday night! We had the duck legs, corn, patatas bravas, mushroom ragu, and GTMOM. The mushroom ragu was too die for. The corn was amazing as long as you are okay with butter (squeeze the lime they provide - it’s so good!). The patatas bravas were crispy and fresh with an amazing paprika sauce. The duck was okay, just not my taste. The drink was beautiful but a little disappointing.

We went to this place on a whim on a Sunday night, we were expecting to be the only people there. The palace was packed and lively! They were blasting great music and the atmosphere was perfect. The food was amazing and the staff were even better. This was our best restaurant we ate at while visiting Boston.

It was with huge disappointment that I had to give this highly expected restaurant a 2 ⭐️. It has great vibe, very popular, and nice outdoor patio area. The staff were very quick to set up cover after a sudden thunder shower which many of patrons (including our tablegot rained on.We ordered four dishes total, three were overly salty (very very salty), Especially the paella 🥘, I felt like I was chewing on salts. And the tapas dish with fish was pickled salty and drenched in olive oil, some bread to go with it would be much better. The churros with chocolate dip was very very sweet, felt like putting a scoop of sugar in one’s mouth.Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes as the next table clearly enjoyed their dishes. As a disclaimer, the staff did take away the paella from our check after we shared our feedback and couldn’t finish more than half of the plate.I think the restaurant has a lot of potential, and it might be the weather that made it a bad day for the chef. I truly hope they can accommodate the light taste patrons.

Wow’ed by the pure perfection of their flavors. The gambas al ajillos is no joke the best shrimp scampi I’ve tried in Boston. Right amount of sear, right amount of citric, and firm, yet soft texture, almost al dente.Miaz asado and bikini bokadilo were powerful punches before the main dish Paella. Please be sure to order their great tapas because the Paella does take a long time to bake. It was a good build up of suspense after all.Reservation required.

Sat at the bar for dinner on a Thursday night and it was packed as I imagine this place always is. Service from the bartender and all the other staff was great. Cocktails were excellent (get the shot: I know it looks weird, but it is really good). Vermouth and sherry selection were so good, we never even got into the wine list although they do have an impressive selection. For food we had a bunch of stuff and it was all excellent, especially the cheese and charcuterie selection. The mushroom and egg with miso butter is also not to be missed. Otherwise just randomly pick stuff or ask for selections and youll be fine.

This place was great. We booked for 12 and 13 of us showed up so I had to sit at the bar (whats the deal q that?). The bar was a 5. But the fact that they were so inflexible w squeezing another stool in and hair in paella made it a 4. Not cheap though. 2 bourbons plus 3 tapas plus tips equal $100.

Cod croquettes were awesome! Pork ribs were tasting good and had good portion, and I enjoyed them even if Im not a big fan of porks. We also had the grilled corns, which tasted good but the corns werent all good quality - some were too small and hard to bite. Duck drumsticks are good to try (slight similar flavor as pork ribs), and the white anchivies are just fine. Dont recommend uni sandwich if you dont really like uni. Overall I enjoyed the food and the service!

Very trendy. Reservations accepted. Dine inside or outside. Spanish tapas; mostly small plates excellent for sharing; a few large plate offerings. Very eclectic menu. A must visit in Bostons South End.Only minor downside is the decor is kinda worn.

I live in DC and I am constantly searching for a good Spanish restaurant - Toro was way out of my expectation! The dishes were of tapas side and were perfect for sharing. My favorite was the maize asado, the most delicious corn I have ever had. Our server was also very patient and passionate about the menu. Overall Toro well deserved a five star!

Very busy, lovely restaurant. Sat at the bar. The eggplant and toast tapas was the best eggplant type dish Ive had. The paella was great too. The small is plenty for 2 people especially if you order a tapa or two. Friendly bar staff. Not a big wine selection.

Cozy atmosphere, great service. Its a small tapas place, but god it is good. Get ready to order many small dishes to share while enjoying some good wine or in our case, sangria which was really well made. The octopus, the empanadas, the duck, the cod croquetas very, very flavorful. The paella, es amazing! Highly recommended.

Definitely the best tapas I’ve had in Boston. We got grilled corn (delicious, especially with the juiceand a grilled octopus (octopus was tender, wish there were more vs the potatoesbut the star by far was the seafood paella. Rice was perfectly cooked, the flavor profile was wonderfully complex while highlighting the freshness of the seafood yet not overwhelmingly briny. The only downside to the dining experience was that it was quite loud and dim inside - admittedly we ate at 8:30 so it was a later crowd but it was a little hard to hear and see each other.

A must try if you are in Boston! The space is small so reservations are recommended or you can try your luck at the bar. We went for a friends birthday and it was a great atmosphere - lively and upbeat music. Staff was super attentive and friendly. We ordered just about everything on the menu and it was delicious - try the bone marrow!

Nice restaurant with the courtyard. Very attentive personal, great service. We ordered “Paella Valenciana” and “Boquerones”. The paella was very juicy with a generous amount of seafood, chicken and chorizo. Honestly, I didnt like the second dish very much. Maybe, anchovies is not my type of tapas.

Amazing experience! Amazing food and service. I also enjoy any nice resturant that serves $5 Gansett tall boys.Tuna Crudo and Papas Bravas where the best 2 dishes of the night. My only knock was the veggie pealla was a little burnt. There is a fine line between Socarrat and Burnt and this was burnt.

We had five dishes and the check came out to about $70. Not bad. The food was delicious. I highly recommend everything I ate. Also there was a little surcharge of 3% for service attendants. It was the best service we got ever! They were absolutely caring. My water was filled all the time. When my fork fell tot he ground, I didn’t have a chance to pick it up. Someone already picked it up and said will bring a new one. Excellent service!

A great little gem of a restaurant!!When in Boston, Toro is a “must visit”. You will not be disappointed. The food, staff, the drinks - (my favorite is the Porch Swing), the atmosphere - amazing!! Sit outside in the garden area for a very special evening if you can!! I don’t remember the last time we have been so delighted with a restaurant. Good food and flavors in a lively atmosphere. Food is reasonably priced for tapas and has some good flavors with a few twists and usual favorites. Service was attentive and friendly. It is a small place so you can be close to other diners and it does get fairly loud so not a good place for a quiet conversation at dinner. Overall we enjoyed our experience and the meal.

Hands down, Toro is my favorite restaurant in Boston and it’s only a few blocks from Northeastern University’s beautiful campus. Many times, I’ve taken the short walk through the beautiful South End neighborhood to Toro. I typically go with a group of friends and we order two or three tapas each and share them. It’s a feast of explosions of many different flavors. Eating a little bit of a lot of different things is a great way to eat dinner. My friends and I always walk out of Toro absolutely stuffed.

One location not to miss when you visit Boston. Advanced bookings is highly recommended as there is a long wait for available tables. We had the grilled octopus, grilled peppers, oysters, bone marrow and mussels. The IPA on tap is very good and of course try both the seafood and vegetarian paellas.

Was really excited to come here but left kinda disappointed. The majority of the food we ordered was really good but for the most part quantity was very small for the price. We made the mistake of ordering the tuna tartare which apparently is just an $18 version of a canned tuna sandwich. If you’re going I recommend the tuna crudo and the risotto. Probably won’t come back, there’s way better food for way better prices in boston.

Great atmosphere in here and the space is pretty cozy. I heard a lot of good things about this place so had to try it. I got the tomato on bread dish, the corn dish, the bone marrow dish, and the shrimp gambas dish. The tomato on bread dish was kind of bland and salty for me so I wasn’t a fan. The corn was good but the topping that was lathered on it was also kind of salty. Also the corn obviously had to be handheld and eaten that way so it got messy real quick. The bone marrow dish was decent and the shrimp gambas dish was pretty good - the shrimp was cooked well and the leftover sauce in the dish could be eaten with bread that they provide. My biggest gripe of the night was all the dishes came at the same time which sucked since I dined by myself. Probably wouldn’t come back but like I said I had to try it given the hype

Toro’s food and ambience were such a treat. Ready for this pandemic to end so I can go back. The street corn makes you happy inside, the flank steak tender and flavorful, shishito peppers yummy, Brussels’ sprouts cooked perfectly, and the shrimp, which I only eat at restaurants, was worth it. We had the bone marrow which I didn’t care for. Too jelly for me.

First time eating real Spanish food. Honestly I have no idea how its suppose to taste but all I know is the proportion sizes for the price are terrible. The app I got for $8 was two pieces of bread. The eggplant something I got was about $18 and the bowl looked sad. Let me add the bread was extra tough like eating some bad jerky. The eggplant was so salty it was not bearable. A huge miss for me but Ill keep the stars reasonable as this is my first experience with Spanish food. Ive mainly dealt with Asian cuisine and a bit of Mexican.

Fire pit 10/10 recommend. Toro has 2 fire pits, both meant for an intimate meal with up to 4 people. It was in the low 40s after dark during our dinner, but the staff made sure we were comfortable and brought over an additional heater. The ambiance was perfect. Food was good, and the Mezcal based Pear Rico cocktail is definitely worth getting again. We also were not sure how much to order, but our waiter really helped is out and even modified the portion sizes on a couple of the tapas so we could try everything we wanted to without being overstuffed. Thanks for a wonderful meal!

It’s been 4 years since my last visit. However the vibe and food both changed quite a lot. Music was so loud and food from tapas to seafood paella was very salty (good thing is they fill-in water frequently). In order to squeeze in as many people as possible, the table and personal space was very small and even tapas were put in smaller dish (happened to order some same dish’s as our last visit). In short, food looks better than they taste (though you can’t really see your food clearly with such glimmer, so remember to bring your iPhone Pro and you can finally check the food from the gallery)

Absolutely fantastic dining experience at Toro. Great services, great drinks, and the food is amazing. We ordered 12-14 different things and its really hard to choose a favorite but the picture below is of the Patatas Bravas with the Brava Bomb-youll never want to eat Patatas Bravas anywhere else after having these. I came here for dinner in late September 2021 and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered only 3 dishes since I came by myself. I made reservations for indoor dining for the same evening and had to call them since you cant reserve for just one person on their Resy site.I ordered their Jamòn Iberico, which has a listed price of $24 for a small plate. Incredible delicious though. Super fatty and well worth the money.I also got their elote dish which came with 4 halves of corn on the cob. So so good. Definitely recommend.I also tried their bone marrow which was very very yummy. You really cant go wrong with it. It came with 3 slices of cut up, toasted bread. Make sure you eat this dish first so the bread doesnt cool and get to hard.I dont drink alcoholic beverages so I tried their mango lime soda mock-cocktail and it was just okay. Id skip it if you have the option. Just stick to water if you have the choice.I took public transportation but if you decide to drive, there are metered parking right up front. I came around 8 PM on a Monday and the street parking can be sporadic.

Dimly light, dark and stand out spot. We made reservations for indoors though they have outdoor, on the sidewalk, and a patio seating. The indoor seating is loud and tightly packed. So if that’s not your thing choose a different seating. The drinks are small but potent. We ordered the gambas al ajillo, pan con tomate and anchovies, bone marrow and oxtail marmalade, uni sandwich, hanger steak, and churros. The food is not traditional Spaniard food but its equally just as good. The gambas are plump and meaty. The bread with tomatoes was simple but exceptional. The hanger steak was meh for me. It was cooked medium rare but the accompanying sauce wasnt my thing. The uni sandwich was salty, umami, and delicious. Ordering more than one is overkill. Too much of a good thing will kill you.Overall this is a highly recommended spot.

The waitstaff was attentive and the booking process worked well. However, the food left quite a bit to be desired. I would recommend the shishito peppers but little else. This was spanish food, at a premium, yet the flavors were not spanish at all - some items tasted like fried fast food served with mayonnaise. In fact, the server did not know what to tell us was in the empanadas. I rarely go to a restaurant where there is a disconnect between quality food and the long queue waiting to get in. I am optimistic that we simply got a bad batch of tapas.

Fantastic meal! Everything we ate was delicious and unique. The restaurant also has a cool vibe - very artsy, young, Spanish vibes. The paella is perfect with little burnt bits in the bottom. Also get the maiz asado (street corn)! Be sure to make a reservation in advance because this place fills up quickly.

Toro is everything a 5 star restaurant should be. This was hands down our favorite dinner in Boston. We stayed in Downtown near Faneuil Hall and this was a pretty far drive on Uber but worth it. We arrived and were sat almost instantly for our reservation. The service was superb. There is a person dedicated to running drinks for the tables and that is GENIUS! Drinks were made well and nice portions. We had just about everything on the menu. The spicy chicken sandwich is big! We were a party f 4 and ordered 8 different dishes. Completely worth it. The corn and the bone marrow were my two favorite. The octopus is very generous portion and that was surprising. Once you start ordering the dishes do not stop coming. Its an experience and it was exceptional for us. Will return and recommend Toro to all visiting Boston.
