Small, easily accessible waterfall in a scenic, wooded area with hiking trails.
The best thing about this waterfall is the rough sound of water tearing its way down the rocks. The fresh air was also worth the trip. However, the road was closed and it was a pretty long walk.
Nice little walk to the falls. Hard to go wrong picking this spot to visit.
Pleasant place to walk with nice woodland paths and the beautiful Torc Waterfall. Steap going in some places so need a good level of fitness and mobility.
This was a very quick and fun stop while visiting Killarney. It’s truly a 5-minute walk from the parking lot. Be aware, the parking lot can be limited and buses drop people off too, but we found a spot after a short wait. The waterfall is beautiful and with a visit.
Kind of a basic waterfall. Not really anything special but a very quick easy walk to the waterfall base. Go before the buses as if got completely slammed right as we were leaving.
Most amazing place I’ve EVER been. The falls are outstanding, the area is covered in moss, the place is magical. It’s as though fairies just kissed it with magic! When I’m needing a fantasy escape, I literally put myself back here mentally. It’s the most beautiful place in Ireland!
Pretty beautiful area and the waterfall is a nice photo opportunity as well as a fun walk up. When the water pressure is low it’s less enthralling, definitely go after a good rain if possible.
Right in the middle of loop from Killarney. On bicycle it won’t take such a long time to get there, you just have to leave the bicycle behind at the parking lot a d the rest of the way walk. But it is maybe like 5 minutes of walking, so all good ;the trails continues from waterfall to steep stairs, it is kinda not so easy trail, but it will give you some stunning views on the lakes, so surely worth of walking! 👌🏼
It was super crowded! Magical green surroundings there, must see!
Hike to top on Torc Mountain. From car park to top of mountain approx 2hrs 15 mins
Nice quick hike to the waterfall through the lush national forest. You can hike further if you want but the waterfall anyone can make it to. I saw a lot of small children go up and down ~5 and a baby in a stroller.
Walked through Killarney national park to the waterfall, highly recommended. Ive seen taller waterfalls but it was still very nice. Easy access & short walk from nearby road.
One of the must place to go in the county Kerry. Its beautiful. The walk from Muckcross house to Waterfall is very good.
Very nice waterfalls with free parking. However dont bother going up as there is no good view from up above.
Nice waterfall that is a short walk from the parking area. There is a trail that continues past the falls and up the hill that loops around and ends down the road.
Nice waterfall very close to the road. Starting point for a number of walks. Very strenuous for the first 10 minutes. Decent steps, but very steep.
Amazing place, often quite crowded. It is one of the points on the Ring of Kerry route. From the parking lot to the waterfall you need to walk 200m. Easy walk for everyone. Toilets next to the car park, open to 6 p.m. I recommend it, most beautifully after heavy rainfall.
Nice roadside stop along the ring of Kerry drive. It is free to go to and the hike to the waterfall is short and not complicated to traverse. It is worth a stop to see the fall and if you have time and like to hike there is a nice path that goes up the hill in the forest.
Torc Waterfall has some parking, but can get a bit busy. The hike up to the waterfall is not very taxing, but can get wet with the Irish weather, so best to be wearing decent footwear, as youll have to climb some elevation to get there. The falls themselves are very nice, the paths are well maintained, and the short walk up is not too bad. Definitely worth a side-track in your trip.
Very beautiful and a must see place to visit in Ireland. Very quiet, greener and covered with long trees around.Nice n clear walkways to walk & can go up to the mountain. Really enjoyable place for all ages. Recommend this place for nature lovers.
Lovely walk. We did the short loop. The loop was not too busy on a Monday, but the waterfall itself was still packed. Its nice that toilets were available.
Best time to go is before 12pm. It gets a bit busy after that. Stunning place, one of my favourites. Red trail is also worth the hike!
We stopped at the parking lot thats close by for a quick end of day short walk.... Great way to end the day. There were also tons of people finishing a full days hike through the forest
Beautiful scenery, Torc waterfall is a must see when visiting Killarney Co.Kerry
The hike to get to this waterfall was pretty easy. It was just a small incline to get up there but it was not bad at all. The waterfall was very beautiful and it felt so peaceful even though there were many people there. I recommend coming here if you are ever in the area!
Amazing place to visit. Only 200m walk from the parking place. Beautiful walk, fresh air, free of charge.
Beautiful! Can be quite a trek depending on your way of getting there! Be careful as the trail can get wet and may be slippery! Worth the view though!
Stunning views and definitely worth a visit
Pretty spot, waterfall is small but a nice start if you wish to do a circular walk. Car park is busy but free so its a nice place to stop off for a little explore.
From the parking to the waterfall is about 5 minutes walking. It is a small waterfall and you can also do some trekking around the park. From easy 40 minutes walking to a 5 hours walk. The place was nice and clean. Toilets are at the entrance.
Torc Waterfall is approximately 7 kilometres from Killarney Town and approx 2.5 kilometres from the motor entrance to Muckross House and is signposted from a carpark off the N71. A short walk of approx 200 metres brings you to the waterfall. From that point steps lead to another viewing point at a higher altitude that provides a view over the Middle Lake. The path is also part of the Kerry Way long distance walking route and a starting point for circular walking routes which are indicated by a map down at the start of the trail beside the car park. The waterfall which is approximately 20 metres high is at its best after heavy rainfall. Across the road from the car park jaunting cars can be hired for a trip to Muckross House within the National Park.
The short walk (less than 5 minutes over flat groundleads to this beautiful waterfall that you should not pass up. The car park is small and doesn’t offer much parking but we found that because most people just take the short walk to the falls and back, spaces free up pretty quickly.
A great place for a walk in a picturesque environment, at the top of the mountain offers a beautiful view of the lake.
We did a few attractions around Killarney to reduce the driving time of the full Ring of Kerry which we did on another day .Its only a few kms from the town centre. There are a few parking areas , the bottom one is much closer. We ended up at the top one and had a bit of a walk along a muddy path but worth it.With a bit of rain the falls were flowing very strongly , a sight to behold and walking through the woods made the walk even more enjoyable
There are two car parks available close to the waterfall free of charge. The waterfall ist just 200 meters from the car park but you can choose between three loop walks to do through the area that are very nice and all relatively easy. There are just a few steps that make the walk a bit harder.
Stopped by early in the morning for a quick walk to the waterfall before setting off on the ring of Kerry. The walk from the car park to the falls is easy and both the woods and the falls are beautiful!
Torc Waterfall is part of a huge are in the Killarney national park. Well worth the walk and the trip to get there as u have Jarveys and muckross lake there also
Fantastic place to visit. We took the hour walk around the forest seeing the waterfall half way around. Parked in the top car park and walked down to the lake and back up past the waterfall to the top again. Steep climb but if you just want to see the waterfall, park at the bottom car park and its just a short walk. Views are fantastic as you ascend though.
Only a short climb to see this pretty waterfall. There are toilets at this stop off.
Take the carriage ride. Sean was awesome. Very colorful stories. Would definitely recommend.
The Torc Waterfall located 7 kilometres from Killarney Town in Killarney National Park.A short walk from the car park will bring you to the base of the 66ft high Waterfall. You can enjoy breathing views all around and certainly at the top by following the stunning man laid stone path. Which in itself is amazing craftsmanshipThe walk has three loops around, some for the more experienced climbers. I would suggest the one that loops over to Muckross House. Here however you need to cross the busy main road, so caution with children would be advised.Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.😊
A visit to Killarney isnt a visit unless you walk to see Torc waterfall. If youve smallies, theres a fine set of steps you can have them climb to tire them out 😁😉 the torc waterfall is most impressive after a day of good rain
Torc waterfall is lovely, on a sunny or wet day. Its an absolute must if your a moderate walker to go to Torc mountain and go to the top, to see the amazing scenery. It can not be described in words or photos. Its stunning. Sign posts are a bit scarce. If you can get on the Old Kenmare Road from killarney , and keep going until you reach car park on the left. Follow yellow trail , and when your on the road ( see photo you will see a turn off to the right ( unmarked ). Once your on this its on wards and upwards. Enjoy. Dont forget to bring water and a camera.
An amazing place in Killarneys national Park. Great day out with the kids and some fabulous walks with outstanding views. The power of the water flowing down the waterfall is beautiful and if youre lucky youll spot one of the many deer that roam free around the area. Highly recommend for some peace and quite also when you just want to clear the head!!
We walked the yellow looped walk not long 30 to 40 mins .There are three different walks of different distances. All route are clearly way marked.Enjoy
Lovely walks, up and down the creek, keeps your blood pumping, tidy bathrooms, lots of free parking. Lovely view, scenery. Lake is close. Horse cart available too.
Beautiful! Visited in early October and Ive never seen a more green place in my life. Easy 5min walk to base of falls from the parking lot. Plenty of additional hiking trails above and around the falls. Definitely a highlight of the Killarney area.
Impressive waterfall with a short but steep walk back to the free car park. Path is gravel so suitable for all ages. Beautiful surroundings
If you are visiting MUCKROSS HOUSE you can take a Horse and carriage ride (€40-50 for family of 4up to near the waterfall then the driver will wait as you walk under an arch and up the winding path to the waterfall. Along the way there’s magical unusual woodlands and river side terrain.Torc Waterfall can be reached by road but if you’re going in peak tourist season you don’t need the hassle, walk from Muckross 2km each way or take the fun Horse and Carriage service.
Brilliant walk/hike near Killarney. Several routes can be taken through the forest and some more routes off the main path can be used to get down to different parts of the river and waterfall. Really enjoyable but taking the more steeper routes will leave the legs sore the next day 😜 well worth it though!!
