Canadian knickknacks decorate this relaxed bar serving craft beers, a range of poutines & pub grub.
Great atmosphete and very clean. Waitress was great and not hovery, but available when we needed her. Prices were reasonable and bathrooms were clean. Menu was simple, not a ton of choices, but overall a good mix.
The atmosphere is great and service is friendly, but slow at times. Food is somewhat overpriced for the level of quality youre getting.
Service was not bad at all prices were good and they were able to make drinks other places wouldnt even consider Id definitely recommend this to anyone visiting banff looking to have a good night
The service was great, our waiter was super friendly and treated us promptly. The food was good and well priced. I had the black bean hippie burger and you could tell it was homemade!
Its ok, at best. Its Banff, so the option are endless, but the majority of those options are better than Toque Canadian Pub!
A wonderful place to relax and share a game of pool with friends. Great bar and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this place for a casual meal while in Banff.
Really friendly staff, with delicious cocktails. We went quite early, around 6pm, so it was nice and quiet :Fast service, with a nice atmosphere, lots of comfortable seating.
Chose this place on a whim and or was amazing!! The atmosphere was warm and cozy. Very comfortable and even had a little fireplace you can sit at! I got the steak and it was 👌 the was also a pool/game area that we didnt check out but I wish we had. Would definately go back!
The new menu was NOT good. The steak was dry and tough. The burger was overdone and bbq sauce was gross. The Caesar salads were 4 spears of lettuce for $9. The gnocchi was overdone and slimy. The deep fried fish was tasteless. The pulled chicken club was mediocre. The restaurant had 4 people in it and we waited 50 minutes for our food. The food is way-overpriced for the quality we received. There are much better places to eat at.
Ordered mac and cheese, it was pretty terrible, flavorless, and really watery. Waiter asked if it was okay and we told him it wasnt however it wasnt rectified. Asked for hot sauce to help this mess but was told it was going to be an extra charge even though we had already complained. Five minutes after telling our waiter the food wasnt great, a different waitress came up to us and asked "is the mac and cheese good?" We said no and she replied "okay" and just walked away. I wouldnt pay 15 dollars for a plate of water, unsalted pasta, and some sorry excuse for "cheese flavoring" again. Rather get a box of KD. Atleast the waiter was relatively nice even though we had that odd encounter with the other waitress.
We were there as part of a group event. The place wasnt very hospitable although it wasnt busy when we went in.The food... Where should I start, worst fries I have had in years. Extremely soggy with no apparent taste what soever. The chicken was super dry and the fried coating was also hard to point where it was almost burnt. The additional star is just for the fact that they agreed to change the channel to US college football.
Nothing but good things to say about this place, great food, it can seem a little pricey but for the size of portions you get its so worth it, staff has been nothing but awesome everytime i have been there, defs a stop i make everytime im through Banff.
Nice staff , we got our food real fast, and the pulled pork poutine was really good !!! It tasted like home !
Very good service, though the kitchen was a little sluggish. Located below street level made the air seem a bit dank. Meals came out the way we ordered.
We were pleasantly surprised! Very generous portions, the food was good and the staff was very nice. Nachos were 19$ and 3$ extra for guacamole, we were two splitting the nachos and we were both very full at the end. We felt like the food was worth its price.
The food was pretty good, nothing over the top. The service was quite slow though, it took 50min s to get our food after ordering and the place wasnt slammed. Maybe 10 people in the restaurant. Could have been just a one off situation but they only had a few of the beers listed on the menu most of which were the most interesting beers. This was the saturday of the heritage day weekend so i honestly expected more but wasnt entirely dissappointed.
Owned by Mount Royal Hotel and where they suggest you have breakfast. Total rip-off. $22 pp for the worst breakfast we ever had. Go down the street to any number of other places for better food and ambiance for half the cost. Shame on you Mount Royal.
A great spot every time we have been. Great food and healthy poured drinks. Lots of games to play with friends to pass the time
The cider was good. But the food..I ordered the butter chicken and holy moly it was spicy as hell, everyone one the table tried it. They have to put this as information on the menu! The salad was not very good as well... And the service sorry but I work in Germany and the first priority for us is he nice and friendly to customers in the restaurant.... The service here (lady with long brown hair names . Jay or somethingwas not made for working in restaurants Not enough forks and knifes, no sorry, short speak, her goodbye was just a thanks very rough and turn around quickly And it was not busy there where 4 tables maybe. Thats super unprofessional and if you read that... You are working in Banff! Lots of tourists and locals, they dont only pay for food and drinks, they pay for the atmosphere and the nice service too ! Thats what every happy customer wants
When we went there was no table service offered for that night and the bartenders ignored us but I get it probably short staff, but it was busy that night. Upside is they had board games and pool tables to keep the guests entertained!
Pros:Food was decent for a pub. Waitress was nice and attentive.Cons:Bathrooms were a little gross, TP was almost out and there was no soap in the dispensers.Menu was a bit on the small side.Overall - 3.5 would be more accurate. I would go again if nothing else in town peaked my interest.
Amazing Beer Chili! And beer was tasty too. Definitely no complaints. Staff was exceptionally friendly!
I was pleasantly surprised by this, honestly! They had a nice selection of drinks and meal items, our servers were pretty great, and though I dont think Id get the nachos again I really enjoyed the bison burger.
Nice concept with Canadian focus on both food and beer list. One star knocked off for a practically undrinkable cocktail my wife was served which bore no relationship to the description
Good atmosphere, not too loud. Beer selection was ok. Appetizer platter was fine. Prison toilet.
Looks like a nice place. VLTs, lots of games, lots of room to hosts people. Didnt try the food though.
Friendly staff, buzztime trivia, a decent selection of drinks, locals seem to love it. For events the bar glows green. Has two off to the side rooms. One is a VLT. The other hosts events including learning to paint. Wonderful for huge groups in the main area. Pool, darts, lots of board and cardgames available for the normal crowd.
Very nice place! They have pool tables, and darts. Great bar and tasty food! Staff seems like they will go out of their way to make you welcome and happy!
I had the pulled pork sandwich. Really tasty with a nice creamy sauce. My wife had the Buffalo chicken sandwich with hot sauce which she enjoyed very much. The staff was friendly with quick service. Only time for one quick game of Jenga while we waited. ;)
Pretty awesome place but I really loved the Canadian feel walking into the bar but that has disappeared with the new pictures on the wall. Bring back the Canadian terms and the crazy water fountains with all the colors! That was super awesome!!
This place is FABULOUS! Loved the canadian words defined on the walls when coming down the stairs! The service was wonderful as well! They have a chocolate milk vodka drink that is TO DIE FOR! and the food was spot on. Burgers, poutine, garlic parmasian fries, dip! All perfection! Cpuldnt have asked for anything more.
Stopped in for a quick bite while going through town. Service was awesome, food was amazing, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich and bison burger!
Love this place! Cool atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. We even came here twice during our stay in Banff!
Love the food and the great Canadian atmosphere. The crowd has always been pretty mature the times I have been here. The service was not great a couple times I have visited however. Had to wait a long time to order drinks and then again to receive our drinks and food.
Dropped in for a quick drink. Nice staff and quick service. Looks like a good place for big groups or just to meet with a few friends.
Went for supper, meals got screwed up. Server was pissed when we sent our steaks back due to overcooking. Manager dude had to come when 40 min had passed with no replacement meals. He had our meals out in a few min and provided us a shot as an apology but the meal was crap and the shots were weak..
Great looking bar but served with subpart food and disorganized staff. Rude staff and my poutine tasted like McDonalds Poutine
Bison burger was pretty good, as was the service. Music was played at a volume that wasnt at 11; you could actually hear the person across the table. So a good overall experience and a recommended place for dinner and drinks.
Went here on a Monday early evening and I was surprised to see the place empty. Service was fantastic and the food came out lightning fast. We liked that they had Grizzly Paw beers available. The decor is very interesting, we enjoyed reading the Canadianisms on the canvases around the room. We ordered a smoked meat poutine with meat cubes that were a bit tough, fatty, and salty for me but otherwise seemed like regular corned beef. The sauce tasted like it had a bit too much powder from a packet - very thick, dark, salty. It was a huge portion, with enough food for 2-3 people; we even had some with breakfast the next day. The tortiere was seasoned with an herb and spice mix I did not care for but was otherwise good, as were the mashed potatoes it came with.
Great food, pleasant friendly service and a nice atmosphere! If I have the opportunity for sure I will come again!
The place looks nice and is large but dont go there to eat. The food is really subpar. Were lucky we didnt get sick from the food. Dont come here to eat.
The menu was junk, very limited options. Beer menu was nothing special. Good on ya for having a New Brunswick beer though. They claim to be a Canadian pub but other than Canadian definitions on the walls, completely miss the mark. They had no TP in the washroom, had to resort to creative methods to resolve a situation. Not impressed! Will not return.
Terrible service. They refused to serve us at the table. Even getting a drink at the bar was painful and the place was virtually empty... I dont get it. The door man basically begged us to come in... And then they didnt serve us.
The only reason this place gets one star is because the Mac and Cheese is half decent and the decor is modern and fun; or else it would have gotten a zero. First of all, we had no idea who our server was the entire time. Secondly, the service was awful. No one asked us if we wanted anything to drink the ENTIRE time we were here - which was an incredibly long time. On that note, our food took an extremely long time to get out to us. Three tables who ordered after us got their food before we did and all we ordered was a burger and Mac and Cheese...... I do have to give them credit for bringing out our extremely salty poutine appetizer with some speed though. All in all, it was a bad experience and I would recommend not wasting your time.
Food was pretty good but the server got my order wrong. Was expecting poutine and got a Hamburg. Oops. Still tasted good though! Great beer selection.
Cool decor, looks very modern and clean. The Canadian-isms make it quirky. The prices are a little above average but the food is good. Our server was attentive and very nice to us. We were just visiting and looking for a place to kick off our night downtown and it did just fine. For a Canadian pub though I expected it to look more home-y than fancy.
Avoid this place! 18% mandatory gratuity for a party of 8 at a pub! Took over an hour to get food, orders were wrong, waitress rarely came by, we had to get my own utensils so we could start eating, and the food was very average. When the food was finally brought out they just threw down the plates without much concern who ordered what. I guess thats what happens when youre guaranteed your tip. The place wasnt even busy so couldnt imagine what the service would be like if it was!
What a Canadian disappointment! Sad really! Poor service and the staff have NO motivation to provide service. This place needs new management in order to provide a band and service that people truly want from a Canadian pub. People and friends, please dont waste your time or money.
Super cool place! Great spot to hang out.. It was really busy but the enormous open floor plan and tons of seating made it a cozy spot to spend our Saturday night. Food was good as well! The "canadianisms" used as stylish decor, made me proud to be Canadian!
Randomly picked a place to eat. Had the special, burger and poutine. Fantastic. Great service as well.
