Long-running, family-friendly steakhouse chain known for its ribs, onion loaf & Romarita drinks.
Appetizer was over cooked. We sent it back. When our meals arrived 1/2rack of ribs and the salmon dish ($32 eachthe portions were very small, the salmon was hard on the outside and I found two bones. The hostess was apologetic but shes not the cook. I dont recommend this restaurant.
Beef ribs were extremely dry and overcooked……..I think they were reheats.
Very good. Tasty, tender. We always get the ribblings. Good as I remember. The portion size has been cut almost in half for the same price as a couple of years ago. But I realize the price of groceries has gone up drastically. Still was a good sized portion together with an appetizer.
Was told to use digital menus by hostess. Manager came to table with updated menu (same items but with price increases). We ordered our starters and dinner from waitress. Asked for drink menu. Did not receive drink menu until after receiving our starter and then having to ask the manager. The waitress did not come back to check on us or ask about how meal was or even give us the bill. I wish I could give a zero rating for such lack of service. Food was ok but service was a big let down. The best part was we had to wait almost 10 minutes at the cash register to pay our bill. No one was working there. Place was not clean either. Please see attached picture of the dead bug that was in the window right next to our table
Great food, great service :)
The food here is super good.
Got the fish and shrimp. I guess this is a menu filler rather than a specialty. Fish was overcooked and very salty. On the plus side the host was very nice and professional.Next time Ill go with ribs which appear to be their specialty.
Ribs were overdoneSecond rack was betterPop was watered downDisappointed
Fantastic service and great food. Found it to have a reasonable price for the portion sizes and the taste was awesome. I highly recommend the bourbon sauce for the riblings.
The client service was good and the manager was very attentive to constructive criticism. As a cook and a International restaurant owner I truly like to support local restaurants although I have to be honest the food quality here was terrible. The flavor of the wings was low quality and very vinegary. The appetizer ribs I think were the worst that I ever ordered anywhere. The sauce on the ribs were poor quality and the flavor was definitely not there. I ordered simple chili and it was the worst Ive ever had, intense vinegar flavor, canned tomatoes, and in general it had very little flavor and nothing really fresh. In other cities I liked Tony Romas but I will not be back to this one.
Food always takes off. Dont recommend for the price.
5 stars all around! … I called to make a reservation and the girl on the phone was friendly and positive… and apparently she wrote down everything I said because when we arrived our waiter said: “oh yes, you need a table to accommodate a walker and oxygen tank… we have two options for you … which do you prefer?” … he didnt forget lemon for the water .. he didn’t forget ‘light on the ice’ for our other friend’s pop… he returned to fill our wine… he recommended the best ribs ( bourbon was AMAZING)… the hostess was attentive and came to see if everything was great… seriously great team work but our waiter Duke was top notch!!
Tony Roma’s never disappoints. Clean, very polite staff, and always go above beyond to make sure things are exactly how they should be. Tonight we had a server named John he was great. It was nice to see a server who was efficient, worked hard and always made sure our waters were full.Thank you for making tonight’s dinner, enjoyable.
Really a 3.75 star. The frying oil needs to be fresh all the time...Coleslaw is watery.Sometimes the ribs are not that great. Didnt baste enough.Potato soup is goodOverall an average restaurant run acceptably well.
Good location. Food was good & exactly what we expected from Tony Romas. The only thing that didnt impress me was Id asked if they sold thier BBQ sauce & was told yes they have 16oz or 32oz so I asked for a 16oz to take home. It came out in a paper bag & I didnt look feel it but when we got home I was disappointed to find out it was just 2 paper cups filled with sauce. Not a proper container for resale. Paid $10 for that sauce & Im not even sure how long its going to stay good for
Restaurant has a good vibe, service was also good, clean washrooms too.The steak was not very good though! A thick cut, almost lean without juice and over cooked. If I go there again I’ll try something else.
Wonderful tasting meal!! Salad, ribs and the baked potato!! Then a delicious dessert to finish!! Have to do it again!! Thanks Tony Romas!!
Delicious 😋 like always 😋
We were very disappointed by the food at Tony Romas. I ordered a bowl of chilli. There was no meat in it, only pork and beans from a can. My wife ordered riblings. They were dry and tasteless.
I had the Salmon with rice and broccoli. It was Awsome. Not dry and ver flavorful. My husband had the ribs. They were great also. Great service as usual!
The ribs were very dry. And to top it all up they are now changing an automatic tip!! This was our last time there for sure
Very disappointed in food prep. Linguini cames as spaghetti. Shrimp and chicken was precooked and warmed up to serve. Sauce on linguini dish resembled SpaghettiOs. Garlic toast wet soggy. Hmmmm. This restraint needs an overhaul for quality control.
Great food, would go again as a treat with my husband, I wouldnt call it a family restaurant due to price.
Great deal on the 8 oz Prime Rib special. I wish they had reminded us of the other special on - the 14 oz Ribeye for $35! We wouldve totally gone for that. Service was just a bit laggy. After our server gave us our water she said she would return to grab our order in a couple minutes, but that never happened. So another server showed up instead, about 10-15 minutes later.Food came in kind of a mixed order. Appetizers should come out first and then the meal. Instead they forgot and brought it all out.All in all though we had a great time and are glad this Tonys will be around as other locations are closing down due to bankruptcy and other causes.
The food was pretty good. Waitress seemed very polite. Front of house manager was great.
There was a wide variety of lunch items. The shrimp taco was magnificent and scrumptious example of fusion food. The only letdown was that the lettuce in the salad could have been fresher.
Always consistently good food. My husband had ribs which he said were excellent. I had the baked potato soup which was lovely. I was extremely impressed with their kids menu. Both for selection & very reasonable pricing.
Our waitress, Maricar was very courteous and fast to take our orders for about 20 people and delivered each order accurate and quickly. It was Ribling Special Tuesday all you and can eat for $19.99. They were tender and saucy. Tough to bet that. Well be back.
I took a break from almost 3 years due to a very poor meal. Since then Ive been back five or six times, and received excellent service, and excellent food every time. The kids love this place, and we all love the kicking shrimp. That is everyones favorite in my family. Even people who dont like shrimp seem to like this dish. I cant say enough good things about the ribs. The only way youll get better ribs is if you come to my house 🤣.
Food was excellent. Great cooks. Our server was not too confident. She maybe required more training, but was a nice enough girl.
Got served a moldy baked potato, manager didnt even apologize just stared at it and asked if I wanted a new potato. Absolutely not. Waitress was embarrassed so she didnt come back to our table. Paid full price for our meal, pretty disappointed and disqusted. I expected more from this type of restaurant. Wont ever be returning.
Had the "rib sampler" plate - a little expensive, but satisfying! I brought my appetite, and was not disappointed. Service was great (they werent busy mid-afternoon).
The service was good , the ribs I had were also very good. The slaw and beans I had were nothing special. The cheesecake I used to finish off the meal was great. Overall 4.5 stars.
Food was awesome on cheap night. Recommandation is eat Rib Bites while still hot and at their establishment. Dont take with. Especially with young kids. Can cause coking hazard. Really small cartilages and bones. But was a great night on my Birthday with my Business partner.
My visit to this Tony Romas restaurant was a pleasurable and visually appealing display of fine and delicious food items. I returned many times here and it has always been a fine experience from the friendly staff to the delicious food. I visited one of these restaurants a few years ago in Seattle and they could not come close to this level of quality or service.I highly recommend this fine restaurant.
If there was a zero star than id have choose that gone to that Tony Romas twice now, both times I have been disappointed by the waiters and food. Waiters are too slow and clumsy and dont put customers first. Food was the worst ive had from any Tony Romas ever. The coleslaw was like soup. The pulled pork sandwich was way to small served on a untoasted hamburger bun. The ribs were supposed to be a half rack not a quarter rack, and the the amount of fries that I received with the ribs didnt even cover a quarter of the plate, way out of portion. Dont recommend going to this place, I wont be going back to this place.
The food is always what you expect and the staff is very attentive. I had the St Louis ribs and my wife had the bountiful beef ribs. The portions were filling although a little shy on the fries. For Dessert my wife had the triple chocolate cake and was more than she could eat. I will say the prices are on the moderate to low high side.
Burger was hot, crispy onions a little too well done. But overall good food. Need more servers for noon. Our server was overhelmed to be able to provide enough individual needs.
Very good food doesnt take very long I definitely recommend it
Restaurant was quiet, we were seated right away, appetizer was quick, server was very friendly and thorough with our orders. Kids meals were filling for them, as was mine and hubbys. Delicious food, always great service, strawberry cheesecake to top it was fantastic!
Food was good. Server was very friendly. Food took a long time, including the baked potato soups which were ordered as appetizers. We were there for 3 hours and it wasnt spent visiting after eating.
Very contemporary and good selection of wine. I went in having heard of their great stacks of ribs. The ribs were good but, not enough to make me order them again.
Fair food, but really disappointing drinks! Do NOT go!We havent been to this place for about year and a half and finally went there for the birthday party. The food was pretty average I would say for that price level: the ribs were good, the rest was not too bad, the salads lettuce was a bit stale. But, man, the cocktails were horrible! Seems like the bartender was trying to cover the lack of alcohol with overwhelming amount of flavour! I ordered Lime Romarita and it was extremely sour, pretty much like drinking straight lime juice with not even scent of rum. Our friends were frustrated with their cocktails too. We end up ordering bottled drinks, so at least it would not be too bad
Ordered the beef ribs this time and was NOT disappointed! Father in law swears by the Star Studded Rib Sampler and loves every bite. Im just a big fan of the beef ribs and I always have leftover takeout for the puppers. Great service even when swamped and the drinks are always cold.
Delicious food, staff were friendly and washroom was clean. Had to take a star off because the one lady (host I believeseemed to be a bit lazy and was rather slow to going out and greeting guests and taking them to their table even after being promoted from the waiter.
There food is delicious but they dont have a very large variety of side orders. I asked if by chance they could swap out one of my side orders for garlic bread and she brought me my main with only garlic bread with no other side there is no way garlic bread costs that much it literally looked like a slice of bread (the square type cut in half to create a trianglewith garlic baked into it.
Went in on a Tuesday, early evening. No hostess available to seat us, so a one of the servers stepped in to seat us, and bring menus. And 20 minutes later, we were still waiting to order even a drink. Atrocious service, staff members just lost in their own little worlds. Definitely will not be going back there. Left in disgust.....used to be quite a good establishment.
Everything was great I would give it 5 stars but our waitress disappeared for a good half hour, and it was pretty cold where we sat. You could tell the waitress was tired or something, she seemed a little off, but everyone has those days. The food was good no complaints there and the drink menu is actually not to bad either.
Being a chain of restaurants, its tough to rate this place relative to other Tony Romas locations in Western Canada. Their food is much as youd expect - the ribs are quite good, and their signature barbecue sauce is excellent. Food is usually prepared very well, and presented professionally. The layout of the restaurant is rather open, so its great for large parties, but note that this can slightly negatively impact your experience if youre going for an evening date with your significant other. The service is pretty standard, with no problems, but nothing extra special. It can get a bit noisy, and obviously fairly busy on Friday evening. They do have a decent kids menu, and their desserts are respectable. All in all, I definitely recommend this place, even if their parking lot is a little wonky.
The truth is this place is below poor. The service and meal were possibly the worst I have ever experienced in a restaurant. We were eating at the Medicine Hat, Alberta restaurant. This was a Friday night, approximately 8pm. The restaurant was about 30% full. After asking the waitress to bring me a glass of water it took over 15 minutes to receive it. When we got our meals, an hour later they were all well beyond overcooked. I ordered the 3 filet mignon medallions, medium. They arrived on a huge plate with nothing else on the plate. It was almost laughable, if it didnt cost over $30. They were like leather, no exaggeration. The salad was equally as bad. I asked for oil & vinegar dressing. They brought the little bottles to the table. When I saw the vinegar, I asked if it was white balsamic. She said no it was just plain white vinegar. I told her, that is what I clean my coffee pot with. That is not meant for salads. I asked for red wine or balsamic vinegar and she said they didnt have any. My husbands steak was more than well done as well (ordered mediumalthough the ribs (he had a combo mealwere good. In totality the meal cost us about $100 for two people. It was my first & last experience at Tony Romas. This is the first time I have ever written a review about a restaurant, but I couldnt resist. What a waste of money!
