Tonchin Taipei Zhongshan Restaurant - Ramen restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
The pork based ramen is same as any other typical ramen. However, the miso butter one is kinda unique as the butter fragrance is rather strong that brings out a whole new level. For the chasiew rice, wouldnt recommend it, but if you do want to order, ask them to NOT PUT MAYO, it really kills the taste.
Noodle is above average but nothing more than overpriced.
Really good ramen, friendly service too... That explains the long queue.
Favourite ramen in Taipei! Not for the weak stomach though, very spicy.
Good ramen, quick service.I was phoned by a friend to arrange dinner for that exact night, and we decided to have some ramens. Its been a while I have not had Japanese food here. I had 麻辣豚骨拉麵, which was not that spicy, and I really like that heavy and delicious flavor.A recommendation for you if youre also a person like me who likes heavy flavor. :)
Ramen is good; Spinach with butter is very good; Clam with butter is super good. French fries is not good. In general it is good, but not the type of place I would wait in a long line for.
Didn’t like the noodles much. It felt too thick compared with an authentic Japanese standard of ramen and the egg isn’t similar too. I ordered the miso based ramen. I requested not too savoury but still it was towards halfway. The servings are big and generous. It was super clean and offers a floss and mouthwash which I find it extra care for customers.
The taste was good but very pricy.
Very good stuff... After all these years, still good :)
The serving was quite large. Really good for a hungry day
I had tried this ramen restaurant in Tokyo and liked it very much. This branch in Taipei tastes similar and almost as good.
One of my favorite ramen soups in Taipei. It has a strong garlic-like flavor, which some might not enjoy. Comes with a good portion of meat too. The original and spicy versions were both great. The one I didnt really enjoy was the fish broth. They have multiple locations. The one at Linkou Outlet shows how the pork was prepared on their TVs.
for me it is one of The best ramen in taipei. their noodle is very tasty and cooked well. Price is average but here the portion is bigger than others
Overall I think this is a pretty good ramen spot. Broth was good, so was the meat, noodles and egg. Service was fast and friendly. For the good quality and reasonable price, I’ll give it a 5* and will come back again. 🤙
Pretty average ramen. Broth is a bit bland but prices are decent so it’ll work in a pitch. Decently tasty but there are better places around.
The ramen was good and I liked the soup as well. Portion size was just right for me
Slightly different from the very beginning. Noodles are good. But fried chicken not that crispy any more. Wont go again if I am considering Raman as lunch.
Tasty and flavorful bowl of ramen, and the price is pretty good too
Pretty mediocre. The broth was...ok. Noodles were a bit over cooked. The pork was fine. The eggs were great. Too much scallions. I felt like every bite of noodles I was chewing through a mouthful of them.
Decent enough Ramen and several other dishes also good. Not many sides for set meals and pork in Ramen a bit thin and skimpy. Lots of other good things in Ramen though and the noodles were good. Service was quick and polite.
Food is gOod Rammen Is not to salty which is good
I ordered the spicy ramen with char-siu and an extra order of onions. Wasn’t disappointed, wasn’t impressed either. The char-siu is somehow cold when served but went well with the spicy soup anyway. The noodle itself was indeed the saving grace of this bowl. Would recommend it for a quick, yet substantial bite.
Awesome ramen using thicker noodles and choice of light or thicker soup, menu full picture just point haha. Full flavor and body tonkatsu broth.
Really a wonderful hotpot location in Taipei, affordable and the beef quality is really amazing, I like how clean and organized the tables are. You get free stuffs when you share on face book. You can host get together party or dinner. They have various sets of tables. They got spicy food and soup. Try it OUT...
Ridiculous...I popped into their bathroom at 1030...30 minutes before closing, and they had removed a half a bottle of beer and half a bowl of noodles from my table. I usually eat there once a week...pretty stupid service...
The ramen here was top notch. The noodles are homemade and have a bite to them. The spicy ramen which I had was so delicious. I ordered just the regular spicy ramen with no extras. You can choose to get the small or big size. Same cost. I got the big and I ate everything. I would recommend coming here alone or in a group. It’s relaxing with a chilled out vibe and good wifi too.
Easily one of my favorite ramen chains in Taipei. Be sure to go when hungry enough, the big bowl will fill you for sure!
for all the ramen place i try in taipei ,i think this place is the best for the ramen, the broth is tasty,n the noodle is perfect, and they give a plenty of meat,so i think its worth it ..
The Tokyo tonkotau ramen was amazing,You can taste the combination of chicken and pork bone soup, nice blended.Noodle was cooked enough to retain a firm texture. Large and medium size are both same price. The toppings like eggs are soft boiled, and it taste really good. Its a fantastic ramen when its not too salty. The normal taste for Japanese is ok, because they eat quiet salty.Choose less salt if dont eat that much, the normal one is a bit too salty for stomach that can cause diarrhea problems.Weekend is packed, you need to wait for 20-30 minutes when theres a queue.Visit week days will be better.
One of the best ramen places I’ve tried in Taipei. The serving portion is worth the price and the soup and the pork slices are delicious. I recommend the Top 1 ramen. You won’t be hungry after you’ve had it.
Delicious food, with great service. We sat at the bar when you first walk in, and it was really entertaining watching them cook. The food took no time at all to come and was amazing once it came. Everyone was really friendly despite being busy they greeted everyone who entered and left.
Nice clean store with bar seats on the first floor and table seats on the second floor. Very busy on weekends (lines)! Ordered the lighter version of its tonkatsu soup noodles. The soup was flavorful, not too greasy and the pork slice was tasty. The noodles, though, was average. At $250 with only one slice of meat, it was kind of expensive!
Cant adjust oiliness for fish tonkatsu but still delicious! The regular tonkatsu is delicious! No service charge! Overall great meal!
Ordered the NT $190 version of the most popular ramen. Ramen was delicious, alongside the half-egg and slice of chashu.Service was polite, bathroom was clean.
Great flavor in broth, and noodles were myPreferred texture although they were a bit softer. Staff management needs improving though, if I had to stand at the entrance looking like a complete idiot for 5 min without being greeted and seated I’d suggest you guys getting a automatic vending ticket machine like Japan.
One of the best ramen I had. Better than ippudo imo. Both pork bone and fish broth are good. Allows you to request for a less salty broth.
Long waiting time for a table and no English menu and no English speaking waitress. We took the most popular ramen and what should I say, it was the best one in my life!
The strongest aspect of this restaurant is their management of the lines outside it. I dont know why the reviews are so high. Its overpriced so a standard ramen. I ordered one of the 230 dishes. I got one slice of meat. Find somewhere else that is worth the wait.
Good Ramen which is originally from Tokyo Ikebukuro. The Ramen shop is cozy. It usually lines up during the dinning time, and expected average 30 min to wait. The best value Tokyo Ramen in pork soup is recommended for first time visitor.
Really great ramen but no vegetarian or vegan options. There is Japanese pot rice as well. My boyfriend had a great time, I had chips.
Ramens places in Taipei are distinguished by the presentation, tenderness of the ramen, the meat, or vegetables. However, the most important component is the soup-broth with a well balanced flavour and taste. At Tonchin, they brew the broth in big container with the secret ingredients. They are Ramens Alchemist. Price are affordable, plus the rule from many places: Order the main dish plus 99 NTS for the 2 complementary items. Good deal!!!! Specially during this raining season a Tonchin Ramen is a plus for developing good immunity and for warming effect.
Good ramen, big portion, but usully crowded. However still, worth it.
Its very delicious! You dont have to go to Tokyo for ramen! We have it here
tasty ramen, rich flavour of soup base. Chicken fried is another must try option.
Best ramen in my heart. If I have time I always enjoy my meal here. Taste good and garlic favor very good for me. I will recommend to eat lunch or dinner here.
Good ramen in Taipei. Most likely you need to wait for a seat. Ordered the spicy noodles. It was good but nothing spectacular.
Decent ramen. Solid chewy noodles with excellent broth. Other reviews says broth is a bit too salty, but for me, I think its pretty good. The only downside to this ramen is the thickness of the meat. The meat did not satisfy my craving for pork.
Pretty decent ramen, just that the broth is quite salty, but you do have the option to choose a light flavor one when you order
I personally enjoy their signature salad (屯京沙拉more than their noodles, but also like the fact that you may add extra noodles for free and can customize your noodless firmness as well as your broths oiliness/saltiness. I enjoy a nice conversation and/or a long visit with a friend over dinner at this restaurant.
Awesome. Great queue management great food
