Nice historic site
The tomb of famous Iranian scientist, mathematician and astronomer Omar Khayyam.
I loved it there. The architecture and the historical information is beyond!!But I must say, that it made me very sad, how depressed and skinny the horses there were. My heart was hurting so much. And also dogs where thrown at with rocks. Please take care of those poor animals.
Great gardens and an interesting mosque. I recommend a visit.

The tomb of Hakim Omar Khayyam, a famous Iranian poet, has a very spiritual and relaxing atmosphere.
Great place to know the man very .. recommended
Here is the text commemorating Khayyam. Furthermore, there is some valuable details about the creation of the Tomb, artists, and dates history.Unfortunately a few words are missing due to some contradiction between the last two regimes. I hope other local guides could inform us about missing words and help us to save the history.
You feel lots of energy around this place. Neat , not crowded , except summer.
Iran is very beautiful place to visit
Really amazing place with strong energy
The mausoleum of Omar Khayyam is a modern monument of white marble erected over Omar Khayyams tomb located in Omar Khayyam square, Nishapur.Omar Khayyam was a Persian philosophers, mathematician, Astronomer, Astrologer and poet. He was born in Nishapur in northeastern Iran on 18, May 1048 and died on 4, December 1131(around age 82-83in Nishapur. His full name is Ghiyas al Uddin Abu fath, Omar Ibn Ibrahim Nishaburi al Khayyam. In the year1072AD, Omar Khayyam documented the most accurate year length ever calculated,a figure still accurate enough for most purposes in the modern world. As mathematician, he is most notable for his work on the classification and solutions of cubic equations, where he provided geometric solution by the intersection of conics. Khayam also contributed to the understanding the parallel axiom. There is a tradition of attributing poetry to Omar Khayyam written in form of quatrains ( rubaiyat رباعيات ).
Such a great, calm and lovely atmosphere.
Omar Khayyam died on 4 December 1131. The earliest account of Omars final resting place is provided by his pupil Nizami Aruzi who visited his tomb in 1135-6. In Balkh, in 1112-13, Nizami heard Omar make a prophecy about his place of burial, that his grave "would be where flowers in the springtime would shed their petals over his dust". He describes visiting his grave in what was then the cemetery of Hayrah:[his prophecy] seemed to me impossible, though I knew that one such as he would not speak idle words. When I arrived at Nishapur in the year A.H. 530, it being then four years since that great man had veiled his countenance in the dust, and this nether world had been bereaved of him. Since he was my master, on the eve of a Friday, with a companion, I went to visit his grave in the Hayrah Cemetery, I turned left and saw a grave situated at the foot of a garden-wall, over which pear-trees and peach-trees thrust their heads, and on his grave had fallen so many flower-leaves that his dust was hidden beneath the flowers. This reminded me of the conversation I had heard from him in the city of Balkh, I wept, for in the four corners of the world I had seen no one like him.
Khayyams Tomb is Neyshaburs most magnificent tourist destination and a prominent example of modern Iranian architecture designed by Hooshang Seyhoun. His design is based on Khayyams life, time, and ideas on all three "mathematicians", "astronomers" and "poets".The structures around the tomb are approached by Khayyams father (tentmaker); he is 22 meters tall; his configuration is concrete with a metal core; in a garden on the outskirts of Neyshabur.
Serene and comfortable atmosphere with a top notch little restaurant that serves the traditional Iranian stew (Dizi). A must see for your visit to Khorasan.
