Tomahawk Steakhouse - Potto - in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom
Fantastic food with the steaks cooked perfectly. We couldnt decide which steak to have so went for the sharing board with 4 different cuts of prime steak. Meat eaters heaven!!!!!Excellent dining experience, recommend to all
1 of the best Sunday dinners iv had in years and the staff are all polite and welcoming
Booked for the extended Teesside Restaurant Week menu so great value delicious food, staff attentive and friendly despite being pretty busy. 10% service charge added automatically but this was pointed out by staff member who also offered to remove it, we declined as more than happy and would have tipped anyway. Will be back as the famous Tomahawk bombe wasnt available as part of the deal and determined to try one after reading reviews 😊
Literally can’t pick a single fault with our experience here. Our starters, main and desert were absolutely superb, the steak was up there with the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant was really busy when we arrived and we expected to be waiting a while for our food but the service was actually very quick. 10 out of 10 and we will definitely be going back very soon.
Superb meal, expertly cooked from the "restaurant week" set menu . Great value. £20 for 3 courses . We visit here fairly regularly. Always impressed !!Service was excellent with friendly , polite staff. Highly recommended. 5*****
Nice meal a service charge is added to bill so if u go to bar for drinks pay for them at bar or they charging you for service youve done yourself if u put them on the bill.Food was great
Excellent service food great staff 👍 call again, cheff Dan excellent and kitchen team
I have visited this restaurant more than once and it is the best by far.The staff are always friendly and happy to help! The food is unreal, especially the Stilton and bacon sauce - this is a must if you like blue cheese sauce!I will definitely be back again!!P.s. Please bring back the good mash with the steak fat mixed in it 🙂
Unbelievable...top notch service and 1st class meal....cant wait to to come back!!!
Brilliant staff, good food. A place to go and treat yourself
Always have a great time here, clean and inviting with friendly, attentive staff and a very skilled chef.
Our first visit but it won’t be our last. Really nice food cooked to perfection for us, we couldn’t fault it, service was a little slow to begin with but I guess it was a Friday evening and quite busy when we arrived. After our starters which were really good, we opted for the sirloin and extra sides and sauces, all of which were well prepared and really delicious, we would definitely recommend but the parking was a little tight, again Friday evening and busy… Piped music was a little loud for us, a bit of a conversation stopper tbh but we were seated right beside a wall mounted speaker( Not our choicewe asked for it to be turned down which it was but soon it returned to its original volume, our only gripe. In future we will specify a quiet table away from the speakers.
Fantastic meal for my daughters 18th birthday, highly recommend the steak and the starters...Very reasonable priced aswel.
We had lunch today. Both had 16 Oz Porterhouse steaks, and trimmings.Hubs had ice cream.I had Tomahawk bombe. It was sublimeExcellent service. Thanks to all.x
one of the best food establishments i have ever been to , i cant recommend this place enough ....the steak and cheese wrap is a must .
Excellent food and service, would recommend to anyone wanting a lovely meal out.
Cannot deny quality of food ,beautiful,& was all done perfectly. The sides were great !Service was ok,but it was very busy! ,a bit noisy but good atmosphere.Only negatives were , no parking spaces at all , & it was a warm night , big bifold doors were shut , but aircon was not on !?
Total disappointment Im afraid as a treat we ordered the wagu board the steaks were not even sliced as stated on the menu, which was a nuisancesharing , some of it was very grisly ,the creamy garlic mushrooms were watery not creamy and not even very garlicy plus the peppers corn sauce was also too watery The parmesan fries were disappointing, so on the whole my first visit was not a good one so will be my last ,for the price we paid was just not value for money...
The room and evening meal was as expected absolutely brilliant. The freshly cooked breakfast in the morning set us both up for the day. Thanks for a great time
The original at Potto has gone right downhill, I wouldnt have believed you could cut a porterhouse so thin if I hadnt been served it, so thin it could only be cooked well done, I had asked for medium rare, felt well ripped off wont be going back.
Really good service and the food excellent. Loads of choices with your steak and the puddings are amazing. The Tomahawk Bombe especially.
Got the Tomahawk steak as you do, to share with the better half. We both enjoyed it the only downside is the parking, if theres no space to park you end up on the road outside but its not a problem to me but might be to people who live in the village.
A quick spot of lunch in between the patio laying. We were seated quickly upon arrival; and our drinks orders were taken. Good selection of draught beers and lagers. For starter I had PARMO CROQUETTAS, which were awesome. Mains was the PHILLY STEAK WRAP, which was very tasty and really filling. On the whole, a great meal, good service and a nice ambience.Highly recommended!!
Great place staff go above and beyond for no matter what lovely rooms aswell 🛌 5 ⭐️
Had sunday dinner taken ages for the food to come yorkshire puddings were over cooked but looked like everyones were the same. Got pudding menu waited 20min to order and gave up and got the bill. £104 felt abit expensive for 4 people.
We had Sunday lunch for four. No complaints from us. Mega Yorkshires, great roasties, cauliflower cheese, lovely cuts of meat(we all had differentand more veg than we could manage. Everything piping hot. 😁👍
Had a lovely stay here last night. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating our evening meal was incredible! Our room was lovely, clean and spacious and the bed was soooo comfy! The breakfast was amazing too! No complaints whatsoever!! Will definitely be back!
The staff were friendly and welcoming...if I was reviewing the front of house staff this would of been a 5* review.I ordered the burger with bacon fries and coleslaw.Yes it was only £9.95, however, the burger (which was presented wellhad two burgers within the brioche bun.It was over seasoned and a little grisly.Id of preferred one better quality burger than two very average ones.
As steak fans we came for dinner and stayed over. The steak was the best weve had and we eat a lot of steak. We had the wagu steak sharing board. The room was stylish and the bed was huge and comfy. Only a couple of niggles that stopped me giving 5 stars. We would definitely come back.
Family outing to try the Early Bird menu after the last one in October didnt get off to a good start. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our table where drinks were ordered and we perused the menu. We ordered our meals and waited for the starters to arrive, I ordered the garlic bread with cheese and was surprised with the quantity on the plate rather more than I expected but it was very nice, everyone else was happy with their choices. For mains 3 of us had rump steak with salad and I upgraded to chips instead of fries which was a good choice. Everything was cooked to perfection and went down a treat, for afters I had sticky toffee pudding with cream and ice cream, it was delicious and well finished off with coffees. We had a small problem when some of us wanted another drink and had to go to the bar to order one but otherwise it was very good, food was excellent and apart from the small blip service was great not sure about a service charge stuck on the bill instead of a optional one.
Absolutely a little hidden gem only 5 rooms but definitely worth a stay, lovely staff big covered outside seating area, dinner and breakfast was supberb, view from our room
Amazing experience for us and our 3 children. Food was just superb. Really friendly staff and very attentive. The main share platter was cooked to perfection. Real quality grades of meat. The childrens menu was excellent and the portion size was really generous. We will definitely be returning on our next visit and recommending you to our family who live locally.
Just got back from having a lovely meal with my family, only negative was we were hoping for a sunday lunch only to be informed 5 mins before we arrived that they were out. The food was still lovely as were the staff otherwise it would have been 5 *😉
Went out for our anniversary and it was brilliant start to finish!Food as usual was to die for. Service was brilliant, nice touch with the deserts 👌
Went for late lunch for a birthday.Excellent service from Bob and Catharina.Food was excellent and steaks cooked to perfection. Well recommended. Will visit again 😀
Breakfast was delicious and a fantastic price. Service was great, setting amazing
First time ,visiting in Potto ,had the Chicken wings for starters and the 8oz fillet for mains which was cooked to perfection alongside Chips and garlic mushrooms which were full of flavour ,decent pint of Peroni and Corona .Nice and clean and good service .Already booked to go back in 2 weeks .
THE BEST STEAK OF MY LIFE!!! Steak was cooked to perfection. Really good COVID measures, sanitise hands as you enter, drinks are left on tray for you to pick up yourself, as is cutlery. Superb atmosphere and tables spaced apart but doesn’t make the place feel empty. 11/10!
Really enjoyable experience, we where made to feel welcome as soon as we entered. The food was delicious, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. (Table next to us didnt have a good timemust of wanted a discount! We enjoyed the steak sharing board for main and Eton mess and chocolate bombe for dessert. My one and only complaint is that the guy poured all the caramel over the bombe, next time not the whole jug please. We will definitely return. Thanks.
We stayed overnight with a couple of friends. Both of our rooms were beautiful. Immaculately clean as was the bathroom. Great range of drinks from the bar and fantastic choice of food menu to suit all tastes & pockets. We chose the Tomahawk steak to share & you had a choice of 4 sides. Our friends shared the Chateaubriand also with 4 sides included. The beef dripping chips are to die for! Both dishes were £59 each but top quality beef and worth it, however, there was a range of very reasonable dishes on the menu starting at around £15. My hubby was the only one that left room for pudding and he said the creme brulee was delicious. My friend & I settled for Tia maria coffees. The following morning we had breakfast. Fantastic choice and again top notch food. Breakfast is served until a very respectable 11am. That alone deserves a million browned points with me. A lovely long lie in. Fabulous place, we will be going back.
We decided to stay at Tomahawk on a Friday night and it was the perfect experience. The food was amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were a great addition (sides are included with the steak). Drinks were great, and the cocktails were well presented. Staying the night was an added bonus as it was a nice room and a comfy bed. Breakfast included the morning after, which was beautiful (its a full english, but Ive made some swaps with the missus in the photo), would definitely go again. Great place to cure the January blues!
Great food and service. Absolutely fabulous. The best steaks you can wish for. Perfect
Great food and great service, steak was lovely and cooked just perfect, nachos for our youngest get a thumbs up, scallops where great and the chicken skewers where amazing. Staff where very efficient and polite.would highly recommend.
Best meal myself and partner have eaten for a long time! Chateaubriand was to die for, presentation was fab and great service throughout the evening. Already looking forward to returning!
Been looking forward to coming here for ages and it really lived up to expectations. The place its self is in a fairly rural location and is a nice little drive from teesside. The car park was fairly busy but inside was quiet being as it was only 6pm. The welcome was warm and the staff seemed helpful, our waitress was a delight and earned a decent tip for her efforts. The food was impressive, well cooked and well presented and simply delicious. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion or a first date if you want to impress.
Definitely worth a visit. Albeit a bit pricey. The service and the food were excellent. The early bird menu for a 3 course was excellent value for 16 pounds. With the 2 course been slightly cheaper. I would go back again.
Simply one of (if not thebest steak Ive ever had. Succulent, tender and cooked to absolute perfection. The sides were tasty too, including a lovely peppercorn sauce. Yes, its expensive, but its one of those restaurants which suits the "you get what you pay for" adage. I was happy to pay for such an amazing meal.
Cool place. Nice steaks, nice but small starters and sides, good selection of beers. Comfortable inside but dining room not the cosiest of atmospheres. Staff attentive. Staff were really helpful when we turned up an hour earlier than our reservation and happily fitted us in. Good experience, I would go back.
What a fantastic ambiance this place has. Best steak Ive eaten at a restaurant in the UK. Friendly attentive staff made for perfect table service! Will be returning for sure.
Been waiting for a few weeks to try out the steak, well worth the wait. Service was quick and friendly and the food was divine and served in a timely manner. Looking forward to our next visit, highly recommended, the 32oz Tomahawk Ribeye and sticky toffee pudding are a must try!
