Tokyo Hibachi Grill in Lynchburg

I received their menu in the mail and ordered some of their Hibachi dinner entrees for delivery. I was very disappointed as the steak was completely overdone and the shrimp was also extremely overdone flavor was okay but they have no idea how to cook their meats needless to say I threw it in the trash

Long wait times and not great food. Food was cold and lacked flavor. Would not recommend.

We looked for Asian cuisine, specifically searching for soup. Today is very cold and my wife wanted something to warm up. The reviews were positive. It was clear that masks were required, which we had planned and prepared for each family member. Upon arrival, there was no dine-in seating and no message to lead us to believe we needed to pre-order. Your choice is to order takeout or have it delivered. We live too far away to have anything delivered. It also does not make any sense to order soup and drive 35-40 minutes home! Very disappointed!! More accurate information would help this restaurant!!!

I work across the street and eat here quite often, and I have never had an issue with the food or the service. Very quick and the staff is always very nice and speedy. No complaints, would definitely recommend trying them if you have not.

This use to be one of my favorite places to get chinese/hibachi now not so much. The chicken was undercooked,yet mushy. Charge way to much for extra steak for it to be tough and chewy. Im so dissapointed,so much money wasted.

Awful customer service. They act like it was a problem to serve me simply because I asked how long it would be until I received my food. I ordered online 10 minutes before I got there and still had to wait 20-30 mins with no one even checking to see what I was even there for. Food was not what it was supposed to be based on description. My Volcano roll was just a bunch of tempura, cream cheese and sauce. Very small piece of salmon. I will never eat here again. Yall need to work on your customer service skills!!

Online menu. Gracious personable ownership service. Delicious cuisine with generous portions in a comfortable ethnic ambience. Located at a shopping complex near Blackwater Creek on Linkhorne Drive in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Decent Asian food. The Chicken Teriyaki is my personal favorite!

If I could leave a zero i would. The food was tasteless and poorly portioned. Sushi was bad, no flavor. The rice was undercooked and six little tiny shrimp. I dont usually do this, but when I called to complain I was told I was wrong and the food was fine. When asked how I would like it resolved, I requested a refund for a portion of the meal. I was told they were unable to do that.

I have found my new Japanese Hibachi! 🥢 This place is DELICIOUS. 🥩🍗🍤🍙 Well worth every penny spent. 🍶 Keep up the phenomenal work. ☆☆☆☆☆ 💯

The chicken had a veryyyyyyy bad smell it was not good at all. The rice was hard. N the Lady disrespectful

Not impressed . First of all, the veggies that come with the hibachi are just sad, they don’t give you much and it’s just zucchini and onion, No broccoli. The overall portions are pitiful, usually when I get hibachi I have enough left over for lunch the next day, not the case with this place. The fried rice was gross , the chicken was dark meat and Soo coated in teriyaki sauce that it was almost inedible. Oh, & did I mention Overpriced...not only do they charge a “convenience fee” when you order online, but they Also charge a delivery fee! Will Not be eating here again.

Food was delicious and arrive before I expected it. But dont order by doordash. They charge one to $3 more on every item then if you were to order directly from the restaurant. I didnt know that until after the fact. Definitely wont do that again

Ive been a customer with this place for three and a half years. I have even moved 30 minutes away and I still traveled here for food. They are now Under New Management and new management is very light on ingredients and the food is not up to par but on brighter news I have found that the old owner now owns Osakas so my future business will go there.

I normally stay in my comfy zone with food ate at this restaurant not even a whole day went by I was very ill and fatigued went to Urgent care 2 days after eating this food to find out in a total of 5 days later that I have E.Coli growing inside of me my kids were not sick as expected. I only ate the food no one else in my home had a taste I recommend anyone that eats here throughly check that your meat is Well Done my food was done within 8 mins which is also very Erie. Very disappointed this go round. Paid $2 extra for veggies in my rice, all I got was a huge portion of onions, which Im not really a fan of. There was only one small portion of chicken too. The small section of the to go box. Litterally had an overflowing section of onion in comparison to the meat I got. Idk what has happened since my last order but I think Ill try my luck elsewhere next time. No fortune cookies either.

This is the worst excuse for hibachi DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE the person who works here is rude and they take your money without providing food this man charged me 10.00 for 4 wings I ordered wings and fries pre paid 10.00 and he refused to give me the fries I ordered and paid for!! I work nearby and will never eat here again! There is a good hibachi restaurant that is located near Walmart go there not to the store that is always empty near comcast they never have customers for a reason!

Good food, staff is friendly, and service is quick. Ive had it delived through Waitr and food was same quality as in the restaurant.

Great folks and generous portions! The best grilled salmon w/vegetables and love mein noodles in town! Their egg rolls are also superb!

Establishment is clean and spacious. Good parking. Great service from staff. I have only had one meal, steak yakisoba, and it was good. Took about 10 minutes for food to be ready, during lunch time. Would recommend.

First time eating here and the food was delicious! Delivery was prompt, on time, and food was fresh and steaming.

Just about the same as every other fast food Chinese place in town. Nothing special about them but nothing particularly bad about them either.

When no one can decide what they want, just go here. They will have you covered. American and Chinese mix. Dont forget chocolate covered strawberries at the chocolate waterfall, bonus!

Probably the best express Japanese food in town! Inexpensive, delicious, quick & the staff are super sweet. I dont usually dine-in (they deliver, which is awesome & convenient), but when I do it is always very clean. Ive probably eaten here over 20 times and I have never had a bad experience. If you love Japanese food & havent tried them yet, do it!!

Ordered teriyaki chicken with rice and noodles with a veggie egg roll. The chicken was bland. I didn’t get any rice like i ordered. The veggie egg roll was extremely greasy. Not worth trying again.

Excellent food and kudos to the guy that delivered here to the hospital and brought it to my room. Thank you guys. The portions are very generous as well

Basic eat in or carry out, good food, good prices, limited service.They have a range of specials plus std menu and some sushi items.

Working in the same parking lot, I’ve had a great chance to try just about everything on the menu, as well as getting to know the family that owns Tokyo. There’s nothing about this place that I can’t recommend.

Ordered from here twice , both times were bad ! Will NOT be ordering again! First time my food was super cold/old 2nd time I had little black/grey hairs in my food thats just disgusting!!!! Never ever will I order from them again!

My favorite small Japanese food place in town. If Im in the mood for Japanese 90% of the time it is coming from here. I usually get the Hibachi Chicken and most of the time it is ready in 10 minutes and if you call ahead it is ready when you get there. Never tried delivery so cant comment there.

Best in lynchburg! Cant go wrong they have something for everyone. I always get the sesame chicken and my wife likes hibachi so she gets the hibachi chicken. Its nice to be able to get Chinese and Japanese from the same location! Egg rolls are excellent too! The food is always fresh, delicious and the staff is very friendly!

1hr and a half for delivery. Called after an hour asked to see if driver was bringing food, woman says yes he is on his way. 20 minutes later call again and ask again she said the driver had to come back to get my food then he was on his way. I got chicken teriyaki and some other items. The chicken teriyaki was horrible it wasn’t even in the usual sauce. It was like a gelatin brown sauce. You may have a better experience going to the restaurant, but I’m not taking any chances, sticking to Osaka or Kyoto.

My husband and I have been getting take-out from this restaurant for a good five years. Bill and his family are the some of the kindest and hard-working people we know. They are always generous with their food, which is excellent, by the way. We are so grateful for this awesome restaurant in Lynchburg!

There are two Hibachi restaurants on this side of town. The one at WalMart is not very good. I mean, they are ok, but they cant hold a candle to Tokyo. Better flavor, more food, same price. LOVE LOVE LOVE Tokyo88

Absolutely love this place! The food is he best in Lynchburg as far as Im concerned! I always get the filet medium rare and ginger sauce on the side. It is cooked to perfection every time I order and every time I am on this side of town I have a longing for the food here. The owner and his family are super nice and I always feel welcome. Thank you for being a good local restaurant that I can frequent and call my own.

This was my favorite place but after being called a liar by the nice wife of the cook than im ashamed. This is what happened, I decided to grab any special that they had to go of course, about a month ago they had a sign posted 12 jumbo shrimp for seven some odd dollars I jumped at that one. As i started to eat and drive and count there were only seven shrimp a lot of rice and veggies. Like a dummy I ordered the same special double ordered this time I was short again there were only 7 in one container and 6 in the other. So me being a nice guy I didnt call or complain. Last night I ordered the same special like a ass and left there were only 6 shrimp that I ate counted as I drove to pick up my wife from school, I am heated so I called them to explained that I had been short every time that I ordered this special the guy told me to come get my money back so I did. When I came into the store I called the cook my buddy so he knows who I am the wife tells me I am lying right in front of other customers which I replied to them that I am financially stable and I have religiously bought food from them and that I do not have to rip off anybody. So my buddy gave me my refund even after he corrected his wife I am a honest loyal friendly man that knows when people are getting over on others. Maybe it was a lack of communication as to what I ordered or maybe the wife who fixes the plates knew that she got me twice and it would have just continued. Also when I came back to the restaurant the sign was taking down, so please public beware check your order before you walk out the door if you do not than the wife at that restaurant will rudely disrespect you in front of customers because of her wrong doing or intent ally false advertisement. Game over.

The staff is super helpful and friendly, the Yum Yum Sauce is amazing, and there is something on the menu for my whole family!

Used to be my favorite place. I picked up an order one day, then proceeded home...they kept calling me to come pick up my order which I had already picked up. I attempted to order from them again and was told to not call them any more. Well, trust me...I wont! You have lost good customer.
