We stop in here before concerts. The staff is friendly, the menu is basic but good, and the prices are what you would expect in NYC.

Pasta was very good. Burger was not. Taste was burned. Usually I really like burgers and try to finish them, but I left this one.

Save your money/time and go somewhere else!Surprisingly bad service. The bus boy spilled a full beer on my wife, never apologized (just said "Im very busy"), and then charged us for TWO drinks - the one he spilled and the replacement which came 35 minutes later because he never told the server what he had done. Server went back to remove one drink but also wasnt apologetic at all.Theyre coasting on their location being across from MSG, but the food is mediocre at best and the service is much worse than that.

Attention tourists: avoid this pub!The waitress was very rude and she made us feel miserable as we didnt speak English well. My fiance and I were planning on spending a night in the pub drinking beer, but we ran away as soon as we finished the meal. This is the first time in 11 days in Manhattan that I havent tipped the waiter. Even to the most basic service I always gave at least 15%, but she didnt deserve a cent. Too bad as the pub has a good selection of draft beers and the food is good but the service is very very low. If you are a tourist go elsewhere because they make you feel unwelcome.

I would have loved to eat here but I couldn’t because no one came to greet or serve me. After being seated I waited 10 minutes and finally decided to leave. No one asked if I wanted anything to drink or to wait a little bit. And when I stood up to leave what do I see? All the employees by the end of the bar just chilling and leaning against it laughing and talking amongst themselves. Maybe this is a good place but don’t come here on sundays for brunch.

This was my first time visiting any Tir na Nóg location and I will definitely be back. The location on 31st street in Manhattan is perfect for grabbing a bite and a few drinks before an event at/near MSG, its also right around the corner from Penn Station. The service was solid considering it was peak dinner hours and like most places they were short staffed on servers. I ordered the fish and chips which was a very solid portion size for the price and includes a whole plate of perfectly fried chips(fries). Also tried their custom brown ale which was solid. My only issue was the decor and craic was lacking as far as giving off the vibe and social feel of a traditional Irish bar, but everyone was friendly and the food and beer was good.

Another great evening at Tir Na Nog last night. They have my favorite beer on tap...Veltins! The chicken quesadilla is off the charts delicious. Our server, Richie, couldnt have been more pleasant and attentive. If youve never been to Tir Na Nog on 31st its time to correct that situation. Its a gem!!! Tim

Great location across from the Amtrak station. Asked for a medium steak, but I was given a steak with a raw center. The server promptly took it back, but I was short on time (had to catch a train), so I got the meatball appetizer instead. it was tasty.I had a very fantastic Negroni along with the meatballs.Positives: Drinks, attentive staff, selection of American and Irish Foods, great proximity to transitNegatives: The incorrect temperature of the steak left me unable to have what I came there to get in time to catch my train, chicken fingers remind me of chicken McNuggets from McDonaldsIm on the fence regarding visiting again in the future. I may try another nearby restaurant over this place in the future.

FUN . A big bag of fun. June 24 2022. We had shepherds pie (perfectly made and NOT with ground beef!and beer; no time for dessert. Server was gracious enough to change an order at our table at the last minute and everything was wonderful. We had to ask for bread (butter not offeredbut other than that, it was good. Very very noisy, but again, Irish pub near Madison Sq Garden, A very hopping bar scene, too.

I remember this place when it was across the street from MSG. It was great then, an just as good now...except not as boisterous! The Shepards Pie was GREAT. Ashlyn--the bartender was-- great! She was attentive and fun.

… well the potato soup … was a bit watery. The bread was good. When I saw the Gallic name I was expecting blood sausage and some proper soup but no such luck. They got Smith’icks though. Not bad, but I was expecting more.

I’ve ordered salad with medium cook level steak , they brought almost raw meat and lettuce was floating in the blood in my plate , barely held myself from throwing up. Be careful when you order something over here , seems like even waitress doesn’t know what they have in the menu and even she doesn’t know what they use for their meal as an ingredient!

Where to begin with Tír na Nóg...To me, this is THE go-to bar in the area. If you cant score tickets to a Knicks or Rangers game but still want to be close to the action, then head here! This is a two floor bar with tons of TVs.The bartenders are top-notch. Service is fast and friendly! Also their music is great. As Im sitting here, theyve already played "Walking in Memphis", "Mr. Brightside", and a Billy Joel song that escapes me. 🙃Will definitely return!

Stopped in for a quick round while I waited for my train @ Penn. Great whiskey selection & ambiance. My beer was fresh & whiskey poured right by my bartender with a lovely smooth Irish accent. I Will stop back to sample something new& try their food.

Very good place. We enjoyed a lot. The person who was providing us the food and everything was awesome and very helpful. We enjoyed it. I am from India and I am totally vegetarian. I saw the menu and I see chicken quesadilla in the menu and I asked her if she can manage to get me veggie quesadilla and she did actually. I had some mushrooms, tomatoes and brokkoli on my quesadilla. Trust me It was super delicious. I forgot to ask her name but she was very helpful. We had these pretzels. Wow! Delicious.Must visit the place. Cool staff. Nice sitting.

When here with a party of nine. Restaurant was very accommodating, kids menu shareable plates it was overall good experience. I had the pork medallion meal which was delicious and the tuna nachos to start. I would recommend both. This place is super convenient for anyone heading up Madison square garden for an event it is literally across the street.

I came here on Friday through a recommendation from a co-worker. This place was really hopping. It is a bit on the noisy side, but it is too be expected for this type of bar/restaurant....and it close to MSG. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive and service is quick. I ordered the Bronzino and I must say the aroma that came off my plate was pure heaven and it was cooked beautifully. My Berry Good Thyme cocktail also hit the spot. I was also admiring the dishes that I saw on other tables that looked equally amazing. Oh....I will definitely be coming back. 😃

My daughter and I had 2.5 hours before or connection at Penn Station. We stopped in for lunch. The hostess was friendly and they had a coat / baggage check.I had a Guinness that was a near perfect draw. The food was very good. My daughter had the triple combo (half a corned beef sandwich, potato leek soup and a Caesar salad), I had the French Dip.Our total was $42.Overall a good experience.

Proper Pints, a top notch whisky selection, and staff that makes you feel as if youre in a proper pub in Ireland and not a sprawling, larger industrial space in midtown Manhattan. Menu looks proper as well, but Ive yet to try it, hence the 4 stars.

The staff is very nice. Most draft Irish beers are $8 (6 total). Many bottles. 3 ciders (1 Magners on tap, 2 Docs apple and pear). Large whiskey selection. They have poutine! The hummus is good. The free range chicken is amazing ($26). The au jus is soooo good. Comes as a leg, half breast, and half thigh. I think it was a cornish game hen since small. Sides accompanying are strong beans, mushrooms, and 2 fingerling potatoes. There is also a NY strip for $30 plus all the typical Irish pub foods. The molten lava cake is sooo good as well, just so tiny. The scoop of ice cream is double in size. Yet it does come with the best raspberry sauce and hazelnut ice cream. The very long bar looks very cool and seems like a good place for the 20/30s crowd. They have a quieter upstairs on the balcony overlooking the restaurant bar and is a preferred place for conversation.

I ate here right before my bowling league game at the port authority last night. It’s a super fancy looking Irish bar that plays real Irish music (most of the time). The bartenders aren’t especially friendly. But that’s ok. Because the burgers are tasty and the bees are cold. And they have a decent happy hour 4-7pm. This guy sat next to me, and couldn’t stop slurping his muscles loudly, which I was both annoying and a testament to how good the muscles probably are.
