Tipsy Samurai Bar + Charcoal Grill - Bar in Regina, Canada
Tipsy Samurai Bar + Charcoal Grill in Regina
Description
Great food and great drink selection! Try the pork bombs and sake!
Authentic Japanese ramen! Husband is japanese and said its the best!
The cost of this sushi was $30 (pick up order). In our opinion, for the price, the quality and quantity is not quite there. The rice was a bit old as well…for our first time ordering for this establishment, we were quite disappointed.
MoreReally love the atmosphere of this place, fun dishes and as I’ve tried more and more of the menu I’ve been thoroughly pleased with everything I’ve had so far!
MoreOur go-to Japanese resto in Regina. Other than Regina’s Wann Izakaya and MJ’s Mitsu cafe (their sister restos i believe as they’ve done collabs before), Tipsy is the only resto that offers semi-authentic Japanese Ramen in our opinion within the vicinity. AND they’re the only ones that offer Yakitori. The ambiance is awesome and service is always friendly and quick. Usually have just the one server and/or another that tends the bar but man are they quick and efficient! Lots of japanese alcohol options and will recommend the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, Chicken Karaage bowl, and the Yakitoris (we prefer the meat lovers Yakitori set). Pre-pandemic they have lots of social events like Ghibli nights or Shonen Jump events but it’s sorely lacking now although still hoping they bring it back. Will always go back to Tipsy and recommend this resto to our friends!PS still sad they removed Beef Gyudon from the menu :(
MoreThe food is amazing, the drinks are plentiful, and the staff are fantastic. The yakitori is the best Ive had anywhere around here! hats off to the staff!
MoreAmazing food! We would drive past it all the time and finally decided to try it out, this doesn’t happen to me often that I try something and immediately want to go back, 10/10 recommended to my friends to check it out.
MoreMy favorite restaurant & bar in the city! Highly recommend
Their pork is to die for! I literally crave it. The service is also amazing. Thank you Jenni for the best service I have ever received. Cheers!
MoreWe ordered a variety of things off the menu. Everything was delicious. My tuna sashimi was so dang soft! The salmon sashimi was also amazing.Their Ramen was a big hit at our table.Highly recommend!
MoreGoodcJapaness ramen place in the east. Ample space, has a bar and good food selection
MoreI would overall rate this place a 4 star. The food was to die for, but it took almost an hour to arrive. The artwork on the walls is beautiful though! Also, the Ramen was absolutely delicious would highly recommend to try out.
MoreAlways amazing ramen experience and a good variety of skewers and sushi to pick from. Great selection of draft beer and good service.
MoreAwesome food, spicy salmon rolls were the best Ive ever had, amazing service and amazing staff, also the best sangrias in the city ! Would highly recommend for some good drinks and light eats
MoreAbsolutely amazing. Best Calamari Ive ever had, and amazing service! I will be back!
MoreJapanese style Raman. Good food, not budget. Service was mediocre. Small seating area.
MoreI havent dined in the restaurant, but I have ordered their spicy Tonkatsu ramen, and it is honestly the most AMAZING thing I have ever ate❤️ I highly recommend people to try it❤️ its super delicious ❤️
MoreThis was our first visit and wont be our last. The food was tasty and fresh. I had the octopus balls ( cant remember the Japanese nameand some skewers. My husband had the a Ramen bowl of soup. Definitely recommend and call ahead to reserve..
MoreExcellent food and enjoyable atmosphere! Definitely recommend the yakitori tray…it was delicious! Friendly service and locals quick to recommend their favourites (the chicken karaage did not disappoint!)
MoreFabulous place! Ramen is to die for, and the korokke was amazing! Service was friendly and super fast. Will definitely be back!
MoreWent here the other day and had Ramen, place was empty. Ramen came in big bowls with lots of noodles. Broth was fine but Ive honestly had better it was a bit salty. There was a lot of bamboo which overpowered the tase of the broth, and there were only two slim pieces of pork and a tiny portion of seaweed in our servings, was hoping for a bit more. Cool vibe inside though, and great artwork and decor. Service was prompt and good as well.
MoreGreat knowledgeable staff. Delicious yakitori and excellent ramen. Great place for beer and snacks. Very cool decor.
MoreService was excellent, food quality and flavour is outstanding! The atmosphere was excellent we will definitely be back many times!
MoreFood was tasty enough. Good prices, ramen broth was the best part, with appropriate spicy level. However, do not go if celiac. They reeeeeeally Struggled to accommodate gluten free dietary issues. Everything seems to have gluten in it, and kitchen could not adapt. Salmon poke bowl was extremely spicy, and I love spicy... But this was a bit much. Good service though.
MoreFood was very good and the service both polite and prompt.Food and drink menu is smallish but all the items weve tried we would order again. The atmosphere was very comfortable and it looks like in regular operation they have a variety of events wed be interested in(covid and lockdown has likely limited these offerings in the meantime, as the posters were outdated)Would recommend.
MoreVery unique, awesome food! Tons of flavor with all their food. The burger and fries were amazing! Cant wait to go back!
MoreThe atmosphere... A+... server A++... food A+++... we were first time visitors and definitely will add this to our date night stops... server recommended amazing dishes and I will be drinking the huge jug of beer for the rest of the night
MoreWe ordered pickup through their online ordering system and it was a fantastic experience. The website was easy to use and gave us time to look through the details of every item before deciding on what to order. The food was fantastic and pretty accurate to food that we have eaten in Japan. My recommendations for menu items are the Karaage Rice Bowl and Pork Bombs - they were delicious and work well as pickup items.
MoreFood was ready for pick up in a reasonable amount of time, and everything was delicious! Highly recommend getting the free appys if you’re paying $50+, it was an entire tray with a variety and was awesome.
MoreFood is fantastic - literally everything they serve is amazing! Their customer service is also great! Highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone who likes Japanese food.
MoreTipsy Samurai was really good. Food came out quickly and was priced really fair. My only complaint was that they were out of the first two items we wanted to have and our server was overwhelmed with other tables ( not their fault ). I will be back on a sunday to get Wanns ramen! Pork bombs were amazing and so was the yakitori.
MoreDefinitely some of the best food I have eaten in a long time! the pork bombs were a very good choice and the shrimp tacos were bang on! But the best thing I had today was the Takoyaki! that blew me away, awesome job! great service in a really unique setting. I loved the samurai sword handles for beer pump handles, nice touch! cant wait to come back
MoreReally cool art inside and terrific food. Enjoyed trying several appetizers and the spicy creamy seafood udon. Would describe the food as pub, comfort food that is well priced for the size of servings and unique flavours. Service was excellent and look forward to coming back soon.
MoreI had supper with my husband here. The food was definitely overpriced. I had Gyu-Don rice, which is simmered beef on rice with some veggie. The beef was a really small portion and was very tough and bland. The rice tasted like Uncle Ben’s rice. The veggie was just a half dozen edamame beans and a few slices of carrots. To be honest, Edo Japan’s teriyaki rice combo costs less and tastes much better. My husband’s Katsu-don was dry and overcooked, also a small portion. Our waiter was friendly and helpful in the beginning, and was nice to bring me extra sauce for my tasteless rice. However while we were still finishing our food, he brought us the bill and debit machine. We felt very rushed to pay and leave promptly. Definitely not impressed, will likely never go back.
MoreVery cool atmosphere. Staff was very friendly. Food was great! Will be going back to try other items on the menu as well. I definitely recommend checking it out!
MoreAmazing. I had the Drunk Monk Burger with a Soppor. I will definitely be back.
4.5 stars. Good atmosphere, quite busy. We ordered a number of dishes to try and enjoyed all of them. The pork belly yakitori is excellent, we ordered a second helping. Beef tataki was beautiful and yummy. Some of the dishes were a little small (mushroom yakitori for us), which is the only reason I didnt rate 5 stars.
MoreIts so nice inside and the atmosphere is perfect for a nice date
A good start! While yakitori afficienados might scoff at the authenticity, Tipsy does introductory yakitori options well and adds some interesting fusion choices. I wonder about Osaka sauce and some very complex flavour pairings, but the atmosphere, staff and price are worth it. And the Sapporo for $6 is a steal. Try the fried salad too!
MoreExcellent! Solid $5 happy hour menu for food and drink. Great service, cool atmosphere. Will be coming back!
MoreThe staffs are very friendly. I really like their grill pork belly and geisha’s delight. What an amazing combination!
MoreIts a Japanese styled bar and grill the food is really good but the portions are a bit small. Its best to go for a quick bite or for lunch. The graffiti is really beautiful on the inside. I recommend the soba noodles 🍜
MoreOf the yakitori the pork belly was fantastic, the shrimp was pretty good, the chicken was alright. The ramen is decent but way too small of a portion for how much you pay. The chicken akin was not good. Overall it was alright, but other than the pork belly not thrilling. The service was really good though. Staff were friendly and helpful.
MoreI have eaten there a few times and every time I have been so pleased with my experience. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a huge, impressive mural. Visually, the place is amazing. The staff is friendly and the chef was SO accommodating to dietary restrictions. The food was incredible. To anyone going there, I would highly recommend the pork belly as well as the mussels. Though I can’t wait to try everything on the menu. It’s so great to have something in the area that isn’t a chain restaurant!
MoreI just LOVE this place! Exciting food, fun atmosphere and delicious cocktails!!! Highly Recommend :)
MoreWe went to eat here on our Friday date night about 2 weeks ago, and was super excited to try out this new restaurant. The design was funky and interesting. The vibe was lively. However, the food was extremely disappointing. We ordered four dishes and nothing impressed us.Burger: bland and flavorless, the patty was so dry so much so that it was hard to swallow. My wife gave it up in just one bite.Beef short rib: also bland and even tough. Thought short rib was supposed to be tender...Duck wings: soggy with no crunch at all. We also thought the butter chicken sauce on wings was a bit too weird. We understand that this is a new restaurant, but paying over $100 on food and drinks for mediocrity was not what we were planning on. We did mention about the quality of the food to our server at the end of the meal but all she said was too write it on the feedback form.We appreciate the creativity and effort put into this restaurant. However, perhaps, a bit more thoughts and quality control into the quality of the food before serving the customers would be much more appreciated...
MoreGreat service and drinks. Chicken skins left something to be desired. Had the assorted yakitori: Chicken and Shrimp were alright. Pork Belly was awesome. Duck wings were tasty.
MoreTried this place out for Date Night and was not disappointed. My favorite was definitely the beer Fried Ebi and of course the yakisoba was amazing. Will be coming back again and again to try more soon. The staff were great and very friendly which made the atmosphere welcoming.
MoreThe staff were polite. The drinks arrived within ten minutes of ordering them.It took over 45 minutes for any food to arrive at the table. It arrived staggered. One of our party was eating for a while before two others got food. Then the last person had to wait longer. They were out of things from the drink and food menus and it felt like the place hasnt gotten itself quite together yet.It has a nice atmosphere and the food was fairly good.An interesting new experience, however, I think once was enough for my group.
MoreThe people that work there are friendly, the food all looks and sound delicious. The rum was good. Sadly for the 4 stars is there isnt gluten free food, the waiter was friendly and said the duck wings are my best bet. They are very delicious. The duck wings were juicy and full of flavor. Ill come back for drinks but cant wait for more gluten friendly food. If there are plans for it in the future, I hope so 😊. My friend who came with me was able to eat the duck burger and just loved the butter chicken dip. I do highly recommend.
