2414 Jacaman Rd, Laredo, TX 78041, United States, Nuevo Laredo
UK-inspired pub chain with kilt-clad waitresses serving fish 'n' chips & bar food.
The service was ok and the wings were pretty good However they really need to change the level of spicy ness. The hottest flavor isn’t even that hot it’s kinda embarrassing to serve this in my opinion. The hangover burger was filling, but the taste wasn’t completely there. It tasted plain with no twist or flavor.
Cold beer and nicee views! Reuben was nothing but grisly fat, not good, thus the1 star drop. Also service was a little slow at the bar.
I would say I have been there around 8 times. I would say the first two experiences were the best. As I went for the others, my experiences werent the best. At first the waitress brought our drinks quickly but as I waited for the food or refills she did take her time. I do understand it is pack at times but at least checking is appreciated #Luisapproved barely
I will not be returning to this location again. I felt unwelcome kinda like when you go into a room where everyone in the room hates you. Thats the best way I can describe it. Very disappointed in the customer service with the waitress! They spent to much time sitting at one table and keep in mind yall werent busy at all at 10 pm @ night! Will not be returning. Pay for food & beer and I got out of there asap!
The server was very attentive at first and then as the event started she moved to the other side of the room and we couldnt get service. No big deal. Until we found out she took a $30 tip instead of $3 off our card. Called the management and they gave us the run around. We had to call corporate. Still took a while to get refunded. The food is decent. The drinks are good but kind of expensive (they are about the same as any other place - $6, $7). It was a good place to go to watch the fight. Other than that. Meh its aight.
i come here for the friendly waitress staff and the chicken fried steak plate with the loaded mashed potatoes and asparagus. you wont be disappointed coming here. clean and accommodating restaurant bar style place where rubberneckers are welcomed.
Server took forever to acknowledge and getting another beer was an even longer wait. And whats wrong with the servers? This is the third time Ive been here and Ive never had one with less than a bad attitude.
Where to start, I arrived and asked if the kitchen was still open and the bartender said yes, and so I asked for a menu and started looking to see what sounded appetizing. I ordered chips and salsa and a a blue moon.Thought to myself great, I can just sit and catch up on all the football games.Had to remind the bartender for my beer, and after a bit, like where are my chips? Asked the bartender, which didnt check on me unless I got her attention. She goes back and gets them after a few mintues, and not even a minute later my burger comes out. Face palm, what was the point in ordering an appetizer? Spoke to the manger I think, he apologized and brought me ketchup for my fries. Burger ok, fries...5 oz. A lot less than I thought. So I have to ask for napkins from another person there. Finish my food and beer, then the bartender finally checks up on me.Close my tab, and ask the chips to be removed and spoke with Val I believe, like the GM, took issue and apologized and very very great communicating and apologizing for the issue and helped with my card transaction as my card has funds was used earlier, but bank card acting strange. Val is the only reason why I gave two stars instead of two.
First time eating here. Nachos not super hot, waitress forgot to bring our avacado. Finally got it about 20min later. Boys pizza was ok. Sons burger arrived with cheese when we ordered without. They took it back only to bring it back to us with cheese removed. We declined it and had them make a new one. Son did like the remade burger. Drink refills were a bit on the slow side.It appeared as this place was understaffed. My kids loved the music as they had latest tracks.
I visited from 1:30 - 2:15 in the afternoon. They only had one waitress working and she had 4 tables. I had to seat myself. By the end of my meal my waitress was nowhere to be found. I really like the style of this place, but I was a bit disappointed. I will come again for dinner to see if I just came at a bad time.
Good beer selection, very attentive and attractive waitstaff. Manager made sure we had everything we needed. Good experience, I will be back next time I am in Laredo.
We waited over 40 min to get out tab, then when we finally got it it was wrong. Horrible service. I understand that “we are not the only table the waitress is waiting on” (as the manager rudely said but there’s absolutely no reason why someone should wait over 40 minutes to leave
Service was really horrible. May have been unlucky night. Appetizer came out late, food was cold, salad with no dressing. Never was asked to have my tea refilled. Just a bad experience.
Worst bartender ever, it took her 45 minutes to serve me a second drink. And thats because I asked a second server. She was more interested it talking to her boyfriend or who ever that was. Wont be coming here anymore. I will spend my hard earn money somewhere else. I suggest you do the same.
Beer over priced , bartender very slow, Draft 🍺 was not cold especially when paying $ 8.50 a glass. Great place to watch sports at least. Sorry food was 6 at Best portions small
I love candy but i never need it with my food. This place grew on me. The staff has always been excellent, drink service is top notch even doing playoffs. This last time i had the Boston burger which had a great tangy sauce and some flavored onions. I also recommend the fish and chips, the philly cheesesteak and their wings are pretty darn good. Also i love Guinness and so does this place.
Food was ok, but service was less than desirable on both occasions that Ive gone. First time was months back and second time was about 2 weeks ago while carnival was in town. Coincidentally, both times were rather slow. No more than 4 tables occupied. Id expect that for a slow night service would be a bit faster but no. Our server/waitress took about 10 min to greet our table as she was sitting by entrance and she was not made aware her section had been sat. Once she took our order and delivered our food, we did not see her again until she brought the check over. Unfortunately, this occurred during both visits.
First time, friendly and nice server but inexperience. No help from her manager . One bad experience, thinking.., that can happen to anyone. The second time ... server was worse. Routinely stayed at hotel across the road. Will not find me here again - I will dine alone without my friends before ever coming back.
The portions of food compared to the price was a RIP off. The drinks where decent. The crowd made the place alot more enjoyable. The hostess always smiled and seemed to enjoy there job. I would go back. Not as often as I did. I was there 4 days out of a week for two weeks.
Came in on a Saturday at noon - place was empty but there were no sports games during this weekend so no big surprise. Sat at the bar, had the spicy mother clucker chicken sandwich. Service was fast and good, food was good. Exactly what I expected for a quick bite at a bar before catching a movie. Was staying at the hotel across the street and this was a good alternative to the fast food that was walkable while my car got serviced at a local dealership.
An amazing experience not to be missed in Laredo. I walked in during the Pacquiao fight and found what must have been the most happening spot in Laredo. As an oilfield worker in the nearby patch, its great to be able to walk into a place and to be immediately welcomed by a group of smiling faces. Anna was my hostess, I think she could sense I was in the mood to be chatty. She sat me in a section near the bar next to a few gorgeous waitresses who were very talkative and went out of their way to make me feel at home.Priscilla was my waitress for the evening and she not only kept me company but introduced me to a few of her staff members.Ever have a moment where you have a cold beer in your hand, surrounded by beautiful women and think to yourself. "yeah this is alright, I could get use to this."The least I can do is write a nice review a leave a big tip. Makes going back to the real world all the harder..This is already the go to spot for the guys I work with, they really ought to have loyalty points. 😂
The Monte Cristo sandwich with sweet potato fries was good, and both were fresh. We sat at the bar, bartender was adequate. Prices for food and drinks were what youd expect at a sports bar. Plenty of televisions though, that was good.
Good place to kick back and unwind after work while catching up with friends and/or family. The food is actually very good. Ive had the cod fish which was ok, Ive also had the Tilted club sandwhich which was surprisingly good along with the Buffalo Mac and Cheese which was very good.Beer is always cold! I recommend you ask for a bottle or can beer and get a chilled glass instead of asking for tap beer. The service from waitresses is hit or miss.We have had a waitress last week that checked on food and drinks every 10-15 minutes with a busy environment, then today we had a waitress that never once checked to see if we needed a refill or anything. Not really sure why that is, perhaps its the waitresses themselves or perhaps management was not there today to supervise.
Its a personal favorite spot of mine to go have a good meal and drinks in the same area. Staff is friendly and attentive, and I have yet to have a complaint about this place. Great selection of ales and liquors as well. Definitely a place thats good with first impressions in terms of both service and ambiance.
Poor service, server forgot to put my order in after asking me 3 times what I wanted to eat. Beer selection is constantly out and servers have no idea what is on beer selection. Waiting 10 minutes for a beer when restaurant is empty does not reflect good service. This place use to be a good location to go to now just sad shell of it former self.
Every time I come to Laredo, I try to give this place a chance. Unfortunately this place has a multitude of problems.1. Service is horrible. The girls don’t care about customer service, they would rather sit at the corner of the bar of gossip.2. I’ve seen multiple employees use the restroom and not wash their hands.3. The staff is throwing a football right in the expo line, where food sits.4. Food is constantly cold and take a very long time to get to you, even if the restaurant is not busy.5. When there is a mistake, the manager is never around to talk to the customer. The manager(sare always on the cell phone texting.6. The food and beer is extremely overpriced. All in all this place needs a lot of help. Management needs more training and staff needs more customer service help. This place is so much potential but is being ran into the ground by staff and managers who lack passion.
I placed an order of wings to go over the phone and I didn’t mind waiting around 20+ minutes to get my order. But the taste of my food was so bad. My wings were either undercooked or burned. So just wasted $15 on food I didnt even eat. Giving two stars because the fries and the ranch were good. Not sure if I will go back.
Went in last night to leave a late ‘dinner’ - not only did the waitress completely screw up my order, service was slow as hell and there was barely anyone in the restaurant. The food is super salty and the mixed drinks poorly crafted with little or no attention. Ugh, I won’t walk into the place again. They also removed the scotch egg from the menu! Also, they do not know how to pour a Guinness.
Service the both times I’ve gone have been horrible. Waited in the front for 20 min until we sat ourselves. The waitress took another 20 min to show up and mind you there wasn’t a lot of people. They are just playing by the kitchen not even caring. It took 10 min to get a refill of beer. Never going back not worth it.
Not the best experience. Had to settle for third choice on wine list as they were out of choice #1 and 2. Ordered BLT from menu and was told it was only a lunch time item. Yet someone at our table was able to get a burger with bacon, which was his second choice as he first ordered a spinach salad and was told the kitchen was out of spinach. Condiment bottles on table were empty.....so were the ones on the two tables near us. Music was too loud to converse so we finished our meal quickly and left. Tried to get managers attention but waitress was not to be found after paying our bill.
Visited the Tilted Kilt to watch the World Cup semifinal, and I was not disappointed at all. It is a restaurant with many television screens, limitless area to sit down and enjoy some wide selection of drinks, and delicious menu options. Although most dining options are burgers, the wide variety of them makes it a must go place. I will definitely busy more the place frequently as it is a good place to enjoy a great game, some drinks, and friends. #LetsGuide
Restaurant was very clean and well kept. No napkins or trash left on the floor even when it was busy. The waitress was very attentive to the four orders placed and would explain if a certain dish had options from memory. Food came to table in a timely manner and was very good. When the waitress brought food, she again asked if there would be anything else that would be needed and if everything was ok. Throughout the meal she would refill our water glasses (without being askedand only ask something if she noticed the paid beverages were getting low. Shows attentiveness even though she had other tables. This was a nice touch because myself and business partners could continue our line of thought and discussion without being interrupted. Overall a very good experience.
Wings were good. Beer was cold. Our bartender was bored though, and new...and was trying to get us to order drinks so that HE could practice....the "girls" were playing around. I think because we were there on off hours it was just a weird time to go. Still, food was good, staff was friendly and beer was appreciated.
Food is good, environment is great. Drinks are a little pricy compared to other locations. Only problem is that if your server has friends that come over, they completely forget about you and go chill with their friends. Need to focus on the paying customers first.
Had good buffalo chicken with pasta. Service was good and the environment very chill.
The food was really good. Well not all of it but most of it was. Especially liked the onion rings, they are a definite must have, highly recommended. Another must have was the Irish tots which are tater tots smothered with beer cheese and bacon. So delicious. The fish and chips was recommended to me by a friend but I found the fish to be lacking in flavor, needed more seasoning. The beer selection is outstanding and the draft beer is ice cold. I recommend this place to anyone looking for some dinner and drinks.
Very friendly staff! Loved it. Food is great. A bit pricey but you get what you paid for:)
Never again, I gave two stars for the OKAY food. Service was horrible, our food came out very slow while there were only a few tables in there, drinks ran out and our server was not ever around..food finally comes out and is cold (two burgers). Last but not least for two beer it was 18 dollars..go here if you want to pay 50+ for half ass burgers and beer (which first one had something floating in itwill not be recommending.
Disappointed. Horrible rap music blaring the whole time. Slow service. Ok food. Its a pretty place with great atmosphere...too bad the ghetto music messed everything up. I did complain about it but they said its the music the other customers are playing on the jukebox. Never going back.
Id been wanting to try this place since it opened......so disappointed.Food, Drinks AND Service was horrible.Servers were nice.... but lacked that customer service.I was looking forward to the pub-style food.Again... disappointed.Bartender needs training too.Maybe I just picked a bad day to go. Ill go back in a few weeks.
The food was okay, but the waitress took about 8 minutes to greet me, and take my drink order. (Not a good sign of a pleasant experience to comeThe restaurant looked great, and had wall to wall television screens as I had expected from a sports bar. The ONLY thing that I didn’t like was that the management allows for people to smoke their e-cigarette/vaporizers in the building. If the city of Laredo has a city ordinance against people smoke cigarettes inside buildings. Then how is it okay to smoke something else that creates clouds of smoke?? When I complained to management she said that there is “nothing against people using e-cigarettes”. So I asked for my bill, and left early. The next Monday I called the Laredo health department environmental health section, and asked them if there was any city ordinance banning e-cigarettes inside buildings. They said yes, and that the management at the tilted kilt should know that. After getting off the phone with the Laredo health department I called the tilted kilt, and asked to speak to the general manager. The general manager promptly answered the phone, and I proceeded to explain what had happened to me that night. He apologized, and offered to buy me a meal on my next visit.(quick to the standard responseI thanked him for the offer, but declined because I didn’t feel like being subjected to the terrible service, and rude management again. Besides I saw more “Muffin Tops” here at the tilted kilt than at any bakery that I’ve gone to. What’s worse is that there are guys who also wear kilts. Considering the traditional Scottish customs in reference to wearing kilts. Men wearing kilts in a place that sells food is just a little unsettling to me. Worst case scenario is you get a short, and curly hair in your chicken wrap.
It is definitely, not a family place, and I was invited by someone. I had no idea, and my daughter was with me, super uncomfortable. I thought it was an Irish restaurant, nonetheless, I could not wait to leave this place. If you are a man, you will enjoy the waitress dress code. If you are a woman, go somewhere else. The food and service were overrated and super slow, waitresses was concerned with the older men, who tip. I have been to Hooters in several cities, and the food and service were enjoyable.
Decent eat and drinks but the service is very lacking. Waitress mixed up the tabs and took over 20 minutes to get everything straight and we had to find a manager in order to do so.
Great beer selection . I finally found something sub par in this great location. DO NOT ORDER THE CHILI CON QUESO. It truly lacks flavor. The meat had no flavor and there was very little in the way of queso. I asked for jalapenos, there was no way I was going to be able to finish this bland nursing home gruel.
Got charged extra for beer not consumed. Friendly guy next to me asked waitress with glasses directly to put 10dlrs against beer tab which actually did not happen, waitress kept it and insisted that was her tip which was not. Semi friendly service, keep tab of what you consume for you might get charged extra more than likely. Do not recommend go to Hooters instead, never had a problem there.
Been here twice, both times on a Thursday right after work; about 6:30 pm. Great atmosphere, TV screens in every direction, excellent selection of beer, good food and other nice views. Both times I received great service and plan on returning very soon. Definitely an upgrade for the bar scene in Laredo.
Horrible service. Took an hour to bring my boyfriends food. Could never find our waitress for refills etc. Too loud for any decent conversation. Service was so bad no one in our group left a tip.
Slow service and if your with a female you get ignored by the female servers. We ordered two beers and a magarita we left after 25 minutes and still hadnt received our drinks. The girls that work here are worse then when Hooters first opened. If you are use to San Antonio Hooters or Twin Peaks service you wont get that here just be warned.
Awesome place, good food, beautiful women.Service can either be great or eh, it depends on who you get as a waiter. Ive had both experiences still 5 stars! Wouldnt recommend a family going after hours.
First time we had a great time, but the second time was awful, we get their order our beer, then it took 30 minutes to our next one. My husband had to get up an get our beer . Even though their were all around us. No one stop an ask if we needed anything.
