Had Masala Fries, Tikka Masala Shrimp and Shrimp 65. Food was good, Ambience very good and place was clean.

Flavour is just ok at best. If I order butter paneer or any other dish worth $13 I expect a full bowl of it, not that 75% of the bowl filled with rice. If i need rice I’d order it separately. Such a waste of money.

I usually go to the one on the other side of town and I will continue to do that because the staff here are not friendly.

I have to give 1 star that because there is no option to give zero star. I ordered tikka masala and garlic naan, they send me tikka masala with chopped raw green chillies on top and pita bread as garlic naan which they charged me $2.25 per naan🤮. Dont ever order from this restaurant. This is my first review ever and It is so shameful that i have to write such a bad review for an Indian restaurant.

So I had the Masala fries and you can never go wrong with them the consistency is always there. I wanted to try something new, so I got their pizza and added steak and let me tell it was probably one of the best combinations iv had from the chain the Naan was so fresh and good with thr tomatoes this is a definite must try.

If you want to eat Authentic Indian/Paki food. Please dont eat here. Thanks.

Really hit or miss i guess today i orderd delivery and every item was a miss burnt naan pizza cold dry naan completely forgot my samosas 1/2 portions of the entres :( never going to order from here again

Placed an online order at 12:45pm, got to the restaurant at 1:00pm and did not receive my to go order until 1:20pm, service slow.

Love this location compared to the one on Milwaukee. They are both great but this one seems to be quicker. Also wish they would give complimentary naan bread with each entree! Otherwise love this restaurant!

Top is butter curry, bottom is original curry that comes with naan,The original curry was so good with the naan but the curry only comes with chicken on it ,I thought it would be come with some veggies.

The food was at one point pretty good actually, but every time we’ve been in the last 2-3 months it’s been the same girl working there and she’s forgotten or messed up part of our order all 6 times we’ve been. When we asked her if we could get an extra non/bread since she forgot ours the previous time, she tried to charge us extra for it. And after all of that, she forgot the other non so we didn’t end up getting extra anyway. When we asked to speak to a manager she said the manager hasn’t been there in weeks, and only shows up once in a blue moon which I have a hard time believing. The food and restaurant have potential, but low quality employees and poor work ethic are running it into the ground. The quality of the food has also gone down significantly from the time it opened. It no seems nearly as good or as flavorful as it did when I first started going. If you want to avoid the frustration, I’d recommend not coming here or maybe try another location. I won’t be coming to this one anymore, never tried the other location here but if they mess up too then I’m just giving up on this place altogether—- update: After another time going and another disappointment where they did my order wrong, I’ve found out recently that some of the grocery stores and online sell tikka shack sauces. The better alternative, I’ve decided, is to buy the sauces and do it all yourself. You can add spicy/non-spicy the way you want it, and you won’t have the consistent disappointments the restaurant^ gives you. It’s more work, but less frustration.

We had the worst experience ever at this place today. We ordered the Lamb Biriyani that was a complete garbage. It’s not even a food we can call!!!. It was so sticky but the rice was half cooked. No biriyani spice at all. Felt like some leftover food. We complained immediately and they replaced with the same thing after 10 minutes. Complete waste of time and money🙁🙁The authority should bring some chef who can cook!! Not some random people who knows nothing about Indian food!!!Note: We have been eaten at this place before. The food was ok before.

I don’t what went wrong. Quality of food has gone down drastically. We ordered spicy sandwich, kabob bowl, chicken 65. All of them tasted so bad that we could not finish 50%. The kabob was dry and hard. sandwich did not taste like before. fries were not upto the mark. Even the mango in the salad was not good.

Wrost restaurant in Lubbock..if you order online you will get “LEFT OVER FOOD” or SOME ONE LEFT OVER food for sure. You can feel it’s already mixed with some thing…

Clean open dining. Extra charge for Naan with meals that should BE included with meal for price. Vindaloo BEST on the menu Semi-authentic. Curry &Tikka mealS disappointing in not a whole lot of flavor with TONS of rice.

I dream about this place sometimes. I tell all my friends in Dallas about it. I moved away about 6 months after the location near Tech was opened and I want to visit lubbock just to get some Tikka. love love love this spot

What is this? I ordered Samosa Chat, not a soup. Also, chat has chutney. There’s no chutney. Give me green or brown chutney, I don’t care if the chutney smells, it’s what makes samosa chat bussin bussin. Also, this was half a samosa, or if this was a full samosa, I don’t know which Indian place you have gotten this inspiration from, but A samosa is pretty big and dense full of deliciousness. I no longer will be supporting this food, I’d rather eat authentic Indian food. Also you no longer have ras malai, I bet you also don’t have gulab Jamon too.

Not sure why this is rated so high. The house special literally tastes like jarred pasta sauce and store bought naan bread is better than what they have here. Barely edible. Place is super cute looking though and the food at least looks good

My first time having butter masala with lamb. And it was wonderful, I will be trying different dishes from this establishment very soon. I give you a 10, the Lamb was decadent. Everything was delicious, if you havent tried this place, I advise you do so......,.

One of the very few halal food option in Lubbock. For those who maintain halal food, the steak option is not halal as I have heard. So verify before you order it.

Great food and nice environment. You can have even an informal lecture session with your professor while eating. Nice staff. I only wish the food were a bit more spicy, but hey, thats just me.

Customer service was okay, yet the wait time was terrible! I had to wait about an hour just for 1 chicken tikka masala, yet others came in and ordered after me and got their food first! Absolutely outrageous, I recommend going to its other 2nd location.

I’ve been coming to this tikka shack since they opened. Part of what made me a regular there was the high quality, fresh ingredients. I used to go two to three times a week when I worked down the street and recently I’ve decided to stop going because the quality of food has dropped significantly. My butter Masala tasted like canned tomato soup with a dash of curry... and I was honestly freaked out a bit when I saw a green bean because I had never seen veggies mixed into my butter masala with chicken so when I saw something green as I went to take a bite it took me by surprise. If the veggies were fresh, that would be one thing, but you could tell they were either canned or frozen because they were super mushy. The only good thing that came from my last visit to tikka shack was the service. The people behind the counter were extremely friendly and prompt. I really hope for their sake they decide to use better ingredients. With how many restaurants there are in Lubbock, this place won’t last much longer if they continue this downward trend.

Excellent fast-food Indian fare. A few of the dishes are a bit same-y, seemingly based on the excellent butter sauce with spices added to modify the flavor base — for example the aloo saag seems like butter sauce loaded with spinach and potatoes and a bit of cumin added — but honestly, after trying every dish on the menu I can say there wasn’t a single regret. Expect to pay about $16 including soda and naan. The one thing I won’t order again is the mango lassi, which could be a bit sweeter for my taste. Finally, I do wish they could offer desserts — I really miss ending a meal with a bit of gulab jamun or pista kulfi.Regarding the ambiance, it is as bright, cheerful, and spacious as any joint I’ve been to, and the staff are nonchalant but pleasant.

The menu is fun. But hit or miss. The curry almost every time Ive been here it has been a miss. Typically undercooked chickpeas and potatoes that are hard. I cook alot and I feel like Id cook better than this. The sandwiches are fun the French fries are good. But the curry almost always lacks flavor, or is undercooked. For the price youd expect more. Definititely doesnt have me coming back anxiously for more. If they would fix this than it would be a better experience. The place looks modern and clean and nice but its the food that counts. Id rather go to a beat-up place that serves good food then a fancy looking place that doesnt serve good food.

This is great Indian fast food. It satisfies the Lubbock resident that yearns for hard to find Indian cuisine. Both the masala and curry are great. I like the traditional rice and their nan is great (extra for some plates). They take a bit long for preprepared food. This is a counter service restaurant. If you pay with a credit card, they present a screen that provides the opportunity for a "suggested tip." I have a problem with asking for prepaid tips for counter service. The "waiters" take about 30 steps to deliver your food.

An amazing place close to TTU campus with a wide collection of exclusive Indian as well as fusion food on the menu. The Masala fry is a must try !!!

This place is always so good. Having a location closer to me has been great. This location has wide open and comfortable dinning area. The skylights are a nice touch. The natural light looks great. The food never disappoints. Everything I have had was delicious,fresh and hot.

Great food. I got the original chicken curry its got some spice which they were kind enough to mention but I thought it was perfect. I added panneer to it. Ill be back for sure! Great atmosphere as well.

Best place to grab a quick bite! The food is always fresh and tastes really good! Their lunch specials are also very reasonably priced.

This location isnt as good as the Milwaukee location. What I mean by that is, the food isnt as tasty. It tastes more bland than seasoned. The original curry plate was bland and even the rice had no flavor. Most the curries are pretty bland as well. It mostly tastes like cumin seeds and spicy flavors than a blend of spices together. Whenever I tell them, no spiciness; they always add spicy flavors. The customer service is usually a hit or miss. The masala fries are good, but not vegan friendly. I do like that theres more vegan options on the menu. The samosas are the only thing vegan and worth getting.

Excellent flavor but I need a new pair of pants. This place made me sick. Chicken is mushy and fatty, tastes of chemicals like cleaner. No one wears gloves. No wonder this place is always empty. Gave it a second chance and got sick again, what a mess. Not real Indian food. Naan was so greasy, I literally used the greasy wax paper to light a campfire. Staff was not very helpful, cared more about their conversation than service. Stay away! Or at least bring a change of shorts.

Tikka shack was great! I got the original curry with paneer, garlic naan, and samosas. Everything tasted great. The portions were pretty big, and I couldnt finish the curry, but they had lids for the containers right by the drink machine so you can take your leftovers easily. I am excited to go back and try more of their options.

Im a huge traditional Indian food fan so I wasnt really sure about trying this place. The first time, our chicken kabobs were raw in the center. Second time, chicken kabobs were raw in the center. I called and talked to the manager and he stated that that has been an issue and that they were trying to work it out. He said, "just ask us to make them well done next time." Well... You shouldnt have to ask for your chicken to be well done in order to not get sick. The chicken shouldnt be leaving the kitchen until its 165 degrees internally. The side of sauce they include with the chicken kabobs is kinda gross. I hope they dont use that for the chicken masala. Im not saying I wouldnt go back. I do like the lamb kabobs even though they kind of have an after taste of some kind of kitchen cleaner. Honestly? I have mixed feelings about the place. Tiny portions for top dollar as well. We gave it a fair shake, ate there a few times and we feel that Royal Indian Cuisine is more our thing in Lubbock.

Tikka Shack is a great choice for fresh Indian fusion eats with a great menu with excellent variety. The service is fast, the food is delicious and the location is unmatched sitting right across the street from Texas Tech. If you are on the hunt for delicious, low priced Indian fusion fare this is the place for you. I cannot get enough of the chicken kebab wrap and masala fries. Ive never left this place hungry! The interior is beautiful and spacious which really adds to the fun and comfort of dining here with a large group. I will be back!

I love the new Tikka Shack location, it is incredibly beautiful. Great staff as well. I ordered the Tikka Masala with original naan and a side of samosas. Because I added samosas to my meal, it was the last to be served even though I was third to order out of my group. It was worth the wait! Considering the portion, the price (~$14was absolutely fair. (Keep in mind, this doesn’t not include a beverageAll the flavor in the tikka masala was perfect; i enjoyed every bite. I did sample some of the butter masala, which was flavorless compared to my meal and had much less chicken in the serving. My recommendation would be the tikka masala all the way!

We were a regular customer of Tikka Shack at Milwaukee Ave. Had been there for more than 50 times, I guess. The taste of food used to be great and so was the price. And, I were so excited to see Tikka Shack next to the university. And, we have been here already for 3 times. Each time, the food did not meet the expectation. The taste is no longer as it used to be. Over that, the price has been raised."Tikka shack was always the best because of its taste and reasonable price." Please do not degrade your quality.

So I’ve been coming here almost every other day now and love the food, I can make all the things at home but their service is amazing, the kitchen is clean, and the place overall has a very good ambience and decor. The lady gave me a free bowl to go today because they made an extra and that was just such a nice thing to do, highly recommended that y’all give this place a try.
