Nonprofit preserve for tigers & other endangered animals, with tours on weekdays except Wednesday.
We visited this place with our 4 year old and 3 year old. My kids really loved it. I would definitely recommend this place. I havent seen so many tigers anywhere else. Also well maintained animals. Employee feed tigers with their hand sitting with them inside their place. Just wow
Awesome place to visit! The facility is not overly large so you get to see everything they have with ease. Most of the paddocks are only about 10 from the viewing area. Certainly an up close experience!Pro tip: Try and go in the morning and you can follow the staff as they feed each of the animals.
I absolutely love this place. The animals are beautiful and the staff is amazing
It was nice seeing the different breeds of tigers and lions but it gave “Tiger king” vibes lol either way it was cool as a quick roadside attraction. Hopefully the money helps keep the animals healthy and happy.
Was recommended to visit so took my adult son who was visiting. It was great. For mid day quite a few animals were out and the cats were doing their pacing. Glad these endangered babies have some place safe to live.
I went there with my family not too long ago, and we had a blast! Chloe went above and beyond to make sure our trip was worth while and was a great worker. 10/10 deserves a raise! Would definitely recommend her to someone else. Definitely look forward to coming back here again! :)
My friends and I spent a fabulous day at tiger world with Colton Smith! I loved seeing all the animals especially the monkeys. He was super knowledgeable and I felt like I learned so much while there. Thanks Colton!
Visited Tiger World for a fun family experience. It was wonderful and not what we were expecting. The place was obviously a little old, but things were clean and well kept. The animals seemed healthy. Definitely recommend going in the morning, this is when it is coolest, they feed the animals, and the new cubs are out to play.
Tiger World was one of our stops on our family vacation. Our group of 10 consisted of 2 grandparents, 4 parents and 4 grandchildren ranging in age from 10 to 15. We opened the park at 9 AM and witnessed the morning feeding which brought the animals out of their lairs and into the open space of their large enclosures. We scheduled a guided tour with Kaylee, a zoo intern, who was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She initially volunteered at the zoo in her teens and during that time created a loving bond with many of the animals. Although there is no food other than vending machine sodas and snacks, the park provides picnic tables under a covered pavilion where our family enjoyed a picnic lunch. After lunch, the grandkids enjoyed a hands-on encounter with the resident sloth. The zoo is clean and well kept. The animals are healthy, well-fed and happy in their spacious enclosures. I highly recommend spending an entire morning enjoying this animal adventure.
I absolutely loved seeing the animals, but I definitely would have loved to see them each have more room. My family and I had a lovely time and the staff there are so friendly and knowledgeable.
We went on a family vacation and this was on of our stops. Our entire family from grandparents to the children as young as 10 years old thoroughly enjoyed it. We took a tour with Kaylee and she was fantastic. Even after the tour was over we ran into her at the park and she noticed some of the keepers moving through the park together and let us know that they may be doing some training with the black leopards. She was 100% correct and we were able to witness an interaction that we havent seen at any zoo or wildlife park.
The kids enjoyed the place. I love that they really spend quality time with these animals each day and the animals love the staff. It only takes about 45 minutes to see everything so there isnt a ton to do here.
My kids had a fun time visiting the Tiger World. They enjoyed seeing tigers, wolves, kangaroos, baboons and other animals. The staff there were friendly. A nice young lady named Chloe answered questions for us about animals during our visit. It is definitely worth visiting again!
We enjoyed our visit so much! My mom cant walk long distances, so she had called ahead and arranged for a golf cart to drive us around. When we got there the golf cart wouldnt start, but they had a gator and she put a blanket for me and my grandson to ride on the back...lol The lady who drove us was super nice and stopped to tell us about all of the exhibits.
10/10 Best day. Colton Smith gave us a tour of the facility and gave us such great information about each animal. He was so knowledgeable and went above and beyond to guide us.
Finally, I was able to visit this place and I was not disappointed at all. Beautiful animals, knowledgeable/caring staff, not inly for the animals, but also for the patrons. Ready and willing to answer any and all questions.Huge selection of rescued animals, not just large cats. I will definitely go back there.
This was my first time at Tiger World. Our tour guide was Colton. He was awesome. He gave us a lot of information and took the time to answer all of the children’s questions! (And there were A LOT!)
Fun place to spend a few hours. Lots of activity. This is the c second time I have been and both times the animals were mostly active. Just make sure to go when they open. Also got to see many of them being fed. My daughter enjoyed it as well.
This place is awesome!!! Beautiful animals and you can tell the staff really loves them!
Absolutely the best zoo experience Ive ever had!! Im obsessed with big cats and these were so friendly and well taken care of. The staff were incredibly friendly and answered all questions happily. Love this place!!
Our family went to Tiger World today for the first time for a special day celebrating our daughter’s 8th birthday. We had a wonderful experience from the time we walked into the entrance and was greeted with a friendly smile and given all the details that we needed to have the best experience. Throughout our visit, we noticed several employees working hands-on with the animals. This was not only cool to see but we also had three amazing women that went over and beyond to educate us on these amazing animals. Kelly was incredibly knowledgeable and shared her expertise with my family. Everyone was so sweet to my family and even hyped up the fact that it was my daughter’s birthday. The animals looked happy and were active. I personally left Tiger World today with a smile on my face and a new love for tigers thanks to the staff simply taking the time to tell me all about them. We are huge fans of Hera especially. Thank you for your kindness and amazing service Kelly, Kristen, Natalie and Kayla. Our family will return to Tiger World. - The Joy Family
We took our summer campers on a field trip to Tiger World. Our tour guide was Kaylee; she was phenomenal! She provided many interesting facts about many of the animals and entertained questions from the children, answering every request they made. She was very friendly and did a fantastic job, making our tour informative and fun. We love visiting Tiger World!
My grandson and I loved it! Beautiful animals. God is amazing. My grandson started naming them by name according to the movie "Jungle Book." Nice staff, family friendly. We will go back again in the near future. Especially when the Safari comes!
It was a great place to go. The animals were well taken care of and you could tell the people working there loved the animals. Everything was clean. There were lots of different types of tiger and lion. We were lucky enough to see a couple of training sessions. We will definitely be going back.
Tiger World provides a great half day trip for the Charlotte area. It is not a traditional "zoo" but rather a rescue environment focusing primarily on big cats. They do have other animals, including bears, primates, birds and reptiles. Many of the tigers and lions will "interact" with visitors by making vocalizations, especially when you talk to them. Early in the morning and late in the evening the lions and tigers often begin roaring and it is really cool to be so close to these magnificent animals as they are making their presence known. The park is about 30-40 minutes north of Charlotte. While it is smaller and not as fancy as a traditional zoo, it allows you to get closer to the animals than a traditional zoo and the animals are much more attentive to visitors than at a traditional zoo. They are more active before lunch time and feedings for most happen around noon. The park staff are very personal and eager to answer questions. Plan at least an hour to make your way around the park, but 2 would be better. Admission is relatively inexpensive and proceeds help the park continue to provide a safe environment and care for its inhabitants.
We really enjoyed our visit to Tiger World so much! It was a delightful, intimate experience with a wide variety of animal. Xavier, our very well informed guide, was great! He gave us a lot of really interesting fun facts. Excellent day trip. We will do it again.
Tiger world was the perfect place to spend a morning entertaining our little kids! The animals were out and active and obviously very well cared for! Our tour guide Chloe was friendly and very knowledgeable! Our kids loved her! The gift shop had tons of cute items for kids and adults to choose from and the playground was a perfect way to end our time there!
Small zoo with many tigers, panthers and lions..: we can walk with Peacocks and ducks,Less crowded place on weekendWe can spend 2-3 hours
Beautiful animals and nice facility! I definitely want to come back.... 🥩🐅🦁🐆 Be sure to add a feed a carnivore experience to your entry!
My husband and I flew out here from New Mexico, and we were looking for a fun place to kill some time before going to the concert we came out here for. We found this place, and are so happy we did! All of the animals look very well taken care of, and happy! They staff is very friendly, and they give you some treats to feed some of the animals with. All in all very happy with our experince there.
Our 5 year old had a kindergarten school trip to this amazing little place and let me tell you what, I caught myself slowing down and really taking in all the animals. Bring your own water and beverages, we always have water in the car, and thank goodness I do, their machine was down so no cards allowed and they only had sodas available and very limited snack choice. You can spend at least half a day here and still feel rushed. Cant wait to take the husband next.
Very nice animal sanctuary. Animals well take care and a mini golf is a charm.
The Tiger World is ideal for half day trip with family in the Charlotte area. This non traditional zoo has lots of big cats. They do have other animals, including bears, birds and reptiles. Early in the morning and late in the evening the lions and tigers often begin roaring and it is really cool to be so close to these magnificent animals as they are making their presence know. You will be overwhelmed by feeling their sound in real. It’s way bette than TV channels. They start roaring just before the zoo closure (4.30-5pm’ish).This zoo gives you a lifetime opportunity to get very close to the animals which you may never find in a traditional zoo. The friendly park staff are very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions you may have. Plan at least 2 hours to see all the animals and spend some very good quality time with loved ones and family. The admission cost is reasonable ($11-$15). Below 2 years age the entry is free. I have attached lots of pictures and I hope this helps.
What an Awesome Fair Priced Family Friendly Smaller Zoo!! Mostly Big Cats. Natural Trails. Picnic tables. Benches. Gift Shop. Snacks. Restrooms. Open Summer and Winter. Parrots. Bears. Peacocks. Reptiles. Plenty of Free Parking. Go Every Year!
Absolutely love this place! Not just tigers here! Peacocks, bears, monkeys, kangaroos, etc. An absolute gem in outside Charlotte area. Easy to get to. You can tell how much the zookeepers love the animals. They are all very knowledgeable as well!
We really enjoyed this place. The lady in the front desk was very friendly and answered all our questions. The prices to enter were very fair, could be even very cheap. Specially that we went for the valentine special were couples can enter for the price of one ticket. We also donated $10 to feed Xavier, one of the cats and it was a cool experience. Plenty of cats were there, lions, tigers, panthers, among others. And also there were other endangered animals like birds, bears, kangaroos and monkeys. Overall it was great and we will be part of the donation program and sponsor an animal, places like this deserve to have more support.
Such a great time at Tiger World to celebrate my sons birthday. The folks are super friendly and full of info. Sad to hear the stories of how some of these animals ended up here. We will be back.
We had a great time at Tiger World! The animals were active and my toddler really enjoyed feeding the animals. The playground was great as well! I highly recommend this place.
Good place to go for a short trips. Can spend 2-3 hours. My kids just loved this place. By time they are tired, we are done. 🙂
Amazing!! Staff were very friendly. Animals well taken care of and loved by staff. Bill the Volunteer was great and the young man at the front desk was super sweet and informative.
This is a great size for an afternoon out, be sure to call ahead for a guided tour. It is included in the admission price. We had a group that had people from 9 years old to senior citizens and everyone enjoyed it.
Love this place, It was only and hour away and i never knew it was there... this is a must for anyone who loves wild animals.... Beautiful and Amazing Animals here..... Staff was very nice and helpful... my grand kids loved this place so much..... A+++++++
Absolutely love this place and the work they do for the animals. I go a few times a year and havent been since the pandemic. Wonderful visit, very friendly staff, very informative, love the one on one attention the five when you ask questions.
Very nice place. Animals seem happy and comfortable and cared for. Its clean and there were plenty of places to sit in the shade and enjoy the animals which is a plus for me ( got a bum knee). Will be back for a Thursday night feeding tour..
This place was ABSOLUTELY amazing. They have a lot of super cool animals. They do recommend you go before 11am for a reason. Normally its hotter in the afternoon so most of the lions, tigers, etc are sleeping in the shaded areas.
I went to this place yesterday, in NC it was 89.6ºF, a terrible heat, and unfortunately I could tell that the tigers and animals that are in this place do NOT have water and if there is it is disgusting, NO They have enough space, they do NOT have shade in which to shelter from the sun, there are NOT enough trees, the wolf that is in this place is malnourished.I was very saddened by the situation these animals are in. Please do something to better maintain your facilities and pay more attention to caring for the animals. Minimum to put clean water on them.
Excellent experience. Most big cats were sleeping so I reccomend going in the cooler months or closer to feeding time. I got the opportunity to feed Mirage with a stick guided by a employee of the park with meat and it was fantastic.
Great place to visit on a weekend. The animals are well maintained. My kid loved it. You get to see the animals upclose. They have tigers, lions, bear, wolf, peacock and many more. We got to see the peacock spread its wings which looked mejastic. As they say in their website, try being early to have a good look of the animals as they take shelter from the sun after 11am
This place was awesome. Only giving 4 stars cause it needs to be updated. Weeds need to be pulled. Animal areas need to redo. But other than that the animals looked nourished. Im glad the peacocks 🦚spread their feathers. That was pretty. The tigers and lions were roaring and the monkey in the back corner was surely making noise. I would come back. Great place for kids or just adults and wasnt too busy.
Pretty cool place. I have to admit, it wasnt what I was expecting it to be but it was still amazing. Lots of big cats! They seemed content. Maybe their enclosures could be bigger. Theyd probably be able to increase their size with donations and volunteers. All in all, youll like it. Oh, you get to feed the animals too! The cups make awesome souvenirs!
