Tico-Tico Bar in Valletta

Amazing food! We were a group of 7, had everything on the menu except rabbit, and wanted to eat everything again! Will come back for sure.

My fiance and had nice gin & tonic cocktails. I had the Gin 48, apple & hibiscus 🌺

The bar is looking good but the staff can improve. The drink was ok

Great food and atmosphere.

Beer was not what was advertised. Ended up paying premium price for 8.5abv beer, but got some random normal beer, not even close too the menu’s description.Also the kolsh beer says IPA in the description?O_o

Ignore the previous reviews! This place has been taken over or revamped because the previous reviews don’t do justice. We came here for dinner and drinks and the food, service and cocktails were amazing. One of the best places to eat in Malta for sure. Must go here if you are in Valletta!

We be back to TicoTico after a good cocktail got yesterday..for the cocktail they deserved 4 stars..but the 5th star goes to Damiana. The best waiter met here. We will back soon to visit you guys..but most of all the beautiful Damiana! Love you sys.

Our final night in Malta and we wanted to find somewhere not too far from our hotel for a light bite and final drink. Plenty to choose from as always on Strait Street but Tico Ticos menu really stood out.Made to feel very welcome, sat outside on a table for four (just two of usso plenty of room for drinks and sharing plates. So many places try to squeeze you onto small tables, not here.Mezze rather than Tapas, so served as larger dishes. Highlights were the grilled mackerel with new potatoes and fava beans - so fresh and tasted amazing. Charred Zenguli tomatoes served with yoghurt, almonds and balsamic was just right to cut through the other flavours. Baba Ganoush with scratch bread was so moorish.The refreshing watermelon margarita and Negroni hit the spot.Wasnt rushed at all. Would definitely return. Thank you 😊

Iconic place, good food, great service with a smile. Not to be missed.

The drinks offering is ok. However for Valetta it is more on the pricey side. If you are looking for something more fare priced and local then this isnt for you. However the service was friendly, fast and efficient. They more foreign alcohol options, which may explain the price. Also on Google they said they had a happy hour but it was none existent when we got here. I will give it another go in the later half of the day

Wanted to have a quick lunch while checking out the city. Cooked Fava beans with peas, fried calamari and baba ganush were amazing! Compliments to the chef!

Great place in the heart of Valletta. Expect high quality sharing dishes, tasty seasonal Mediterranean dishes prepared in the correct way, paired with some excellent craft beers, including some awesome US, UK, Belgian imports 😍

The place has been redesigned and reopened. Looks great, which nice music & atmosphere. Kind staff and simply very good cocktails. Wine menu a bit limited today but still growing apparently.

It was something weird about that place, a guy was sitting on a chair facing us (all the tables were outside), two girls dressed like hustlers, one of which served us and had no idea what’s in the plate.The food was ok but nothing impressive. I’m not tempted to visit that place again.

There are better places in Valetta. Skip this one.Not a great place to eat. Dry or over cooked food. Lack of card payment and no receipt provided. The owner asked me to do a bank transfer to his account, that I found really awkward. We ended up spending all of our cash.

Avoid this establishment. The service is terrible and slow. I waited almost an hour for my main meal after my mother had received and consumed hers. The table next door had their salmon switched for sea bass!! On paying my bill, I noted the chef smoking in the kitchen!

Pretty average place to sit down in Valletta. I had the beef burger which was great and but maybe a bit pricey. The bar is situated in a narrow street, so if youre into that, it might be a fit.

Had a drink here, terrible (but really terriblemusic. Would not go for food here to be honest. A bit expensive and lacking service

Very cosy place along small narrow streets in Valleta. We had a mediteranean platter and it was very good. Red wine by glass is very nice. Nice place to get a quick bite

This establishment was ok. It wasnt bad at all, but it just wasnt memorable either. The food was plentiful and filling but wasnt very impressive with its taste. I wouldnt recommend against visiting here. I would say to look around and see if any other restaurants interest you before coming here.If this review was helpful, give it a thumbs up below.

Cant say anything about the food because we didnt try it. Historic place which was closed down in the late 70s. Reopened circa.2016. Still called the "Gut" by generations of British sailors. Good selection of wines.

The sooner this place closes, the better. Sunday evening and they are blasting bad club music at such a volume that it ruins the atmosphere for guests, not only their guests but for many restaurants around. Service was almost non existence. Food was the worst I’ve had in Malta. Such a disappointment.

Worse food so far on our trip.Starting platter was okayish then waited 1 hour for our pasta dishes, which were bland and luke warm, kids ordered hamburgers which arrived after we finished our pasta and they also have it the thumbs down. Place wasnt overly busy.Waiter was too busy smoking at the front entrance and didnt seem to care either. Could have sold us a few more beers...their loss!

If you value your health please avoid. ... I had the worst food poisoning after eating in this place which made the rest of my holidays unbearable.Serving edible food is the bare minimum a restaurant can do and you wont find this here.

We had the maltese platter and it was really good. Quite good service. But horribly loud music and scary bathroom.

Amazing food in a retro bar... Ciabattas and sauces were amazing and nearly a full meal.. I had to cancel the main has had eaten a fair bit earlier in the day. So had the ravioli next OMG was one of the best meals I ever had and am a foodie ! Can not recommend this place enough... staff are great, everything about this place is amazing ! Thank u :-)

CASH ONLY - Waiter didnt tell us that the restaurant was cash-only until they brought over a €150 bill. It was not disclosed at any time before we tried to pay with a card. Also the service was not attentive and the pasta sauce was sweet enough to be a dessert sauce.

We loved it in there. Good price, we were full by second dish, had no place to put third in :Staff seemed to know English well, was very welcoming and helpful.Especially loved the garlic souce, spicy and tasty! Excellent!

First of all the 350gr burger is 200gr AT MOST. It was too dry, and lacks a lot of taste. Served with dry iceberg salad and store bought fries. The burger cost is 13.5 euros wich is way to much for a small tasteless burger.My girlfriend had the chicken sticks with sweet chilli sauce. The sticks lacked seasoning and came from the freezer (probably store bought), and to top it off the sweet chilli sauce was also store bought. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant. Two stars is generous.

By far my worst experience on Malta. Orders got lost, starters came after the main courses, the food was not seasoned at all. For example we got seafood pasta that was basically just a handful of seafood on top of unseasoned spaghetti. Not salted, no sauce, nothing. Absolutely tasteless. Some of us waited an hour for the food and we had to remind the staff several times what we ordered. After more than an hour we even cancelled some of our food. The waiters were incompetent, one didnt understand English at all but pretended to understand. The other waiter just put all guilt on the kitchen, saying its not his fault that the food is not coming. But on the other hand he kept insisting that the food is coming. Oh and the rabbit penne? I got ONE TINY piece of rabbit in a thin goulash like sauce. Ridiculous. DO NOT EAT HERE. If youre just out for drinks, it might be okay, but its a horrible food experience.

There was no defined smoking area so the place was awash with cigarette smoke the whole time.The food itself was sub-standard. Some of it had blatantly been microwaved from a packet and the rest was just badly prepared.Our waiter was slow and spoke no Maltese whatsoever and his English was very poor meaning it took ages to get the correct order.To top it all off whilst waiting for the toilet I watched our waiter leave a cubicle and walk straight back upstairs to continue handling food and taking order, making no effort at all to wash his hands!Horrible little venue! Dont go here!

Im giving this one star as they need to get a shake up. What millions of people would not give to own a pub bar restaurant on this little bohemian alley in Malta and these guys seem to just not care. The people next to us waited 44 mins to get told actually there is no rabbit, we got served flat beers pretty quickly and I got 5 pieces of frozen (but cookedravioli pretty fast, my boyfriends sausage pasta was pretty good. The servers ask everyone for tips as well when they forgot our water twice and even asked for a tip from the people sitting next to us who had to end up waiting 1.5hrs for food.So much potential, so little care.

It took them like two hours to bring our food. In the meantime the waitress was more worried about dancing than serving people.They have good music, unfortunately they pug it to loud and is impossible to talk and they dont leave songs to finish so every 30 seconds they are changing the music without thinking on the customers outside. The food was heated in a microwave!!.
