Tibet Hostel in Montevideo

Rooms and location are fine, as was the service. Maybe its bad luck, but around 60-90 children were in the hotel lobby for the 2 days we were staying here. The parents using the reception staff as a baby sitter, as there were no parents to be seen for the night. This resulted in us not able to have a drink in the nice bar, or meal in the very average restaurant (avoid the cesaer saladcomfortably with this many screaming children around around, even after 10pm!

***First, the good: The cleaning ladies are efficient and fast. Some of the frontdesk staff and all the restaurant staff are also very dependable and friendly.***Now the lacking: Rooms are not well maintained . Showers leak a lot and some are clunky due to poor service. And talking to fellow guests I came to know it is something common.The food variety is narrow. Breakfast is at least fresh, kinda, but the bread sometimes seem to be "yesterdays twice".The eggs were definitely not fresh.Couple (dont want to be specific, but it is meant one specificfrontdesk staff were dismissive and condescending which is a hard combo to master, though.All in all, Dont recommend. Price and place, you better served even at the other side of the very street Dazzler is in.

Great hotel and location

Stayed 3 nights in April 2022. Located in nice neighborhood, close to shops, nice restaurants, beaches and other venues, very clean room, comfortable bed, had to ask for an iron and a kettle but they brought them immediately, breakfast is copious though lacks fresh products, the rooftop pool with wonderful view is a gem (water not heated, but still maintained in the Fall as late as April). Great stay overall.

The hotel seems to be very beautiful BUT its construction is faulty and precarious.Plugs dont work, the shower wets all the floor of the restroom, the room does not have hangers, no minibar, no coffee, tea or even glasses inside the room, no slippers, no robes to go to the pool. Non of the prior are provided even if you ask for it.We tried to order some warm tea because its was very cold outside, and the hotel didnt even have that.The breakfast has nothing vegetarian apart from bread and eggs. The fruit is not cut and presented nicely, also doesnt have muesli or cereals.Anyways, a very poor experience, really confusing because judged by the pictures it seemed decent.

The hotel is well located, the breakfast is good, the beds are big and comfortable and the rooms spacious. The hotel needs an overall refreshment, a minor repairs to sort maintenance details which you can see in the pics. The gym is in poor condition with equipment not working and poorly lighted.

Not too bad. The reception and breakfast staff are very friendly and attentive. The room was pretty spacious and comfortable according to the reservation and the balcony gives it a special touch, pity the weather wasnt helpful. A deckchair would be nice to have in the balcony.Wifi signal is very good all around the hotel (I took my laptop from floor 11 to the ground floor while connected to a zoom meeting and never lost connection).Breakfast is poor, not much of a selection, just toast, ham and cheese, croissants and fruit.Location is excellent, really good restaurants to explore nearby, and the shopping centre and promenade are not too far away.

WOW! Very spacious hotel. Breakfast variety is really good. Sitting capacity is for more than 50 person ata a time.

Falling to pieces! Multiple leaks, burnt-out lights, and cracks in the dry wall. Looks as if it was built using cardboard.

Good deal tea for 2 really too much for 2.. place is nice view to the street.

The Hotel is ok. But only in the summer. They don´t have heaters in the hotel rooms. I have been there in october and it was very cold in the room. I have never seen a hotel of this class before, that doesn´t have heaters to warm up the room.

We did not have a good experience staying here.The hallways, rooms and the bathrooms in both of the rooms we had really really stank of old smell, cigarettes and sewer. The rooms really had a bad smell.For the same price or less, there are many other cleaner options in the area.

I only had the breakfast in the hotel, I was not a guest. The service is pretty good, the restaurant is cozy and the food tasteful. US$ 20 per person

Good location. Good price. Fairly clean rooms, buffet breakfast ok, they have fruits but orange juice should be natural. A little ran down, need some paint. Good to spend the night!

This was my first hotel stay in Uruguay. It was great experience with luxury the hotel provide with amenities like pool and gym.

Like me, you might find this hotels pictures are great but you cant smell pictures. Carpeted corridor smelled bad. Room was large but smelled bad, had dirty windows and poor lighting. No hot water for the shower sometimes. Housekeeping forget to leave bath towels and didnt clean room once. Evening manager refused to let me check-out and refund my balance saying only general manager available next morning could do that. Badly managed. Picture I uploaded shows smudge on window housekeeping wont clean and water leak on damaged wall in my room. It should be a 2-star hotel at most. Better stay at Aloft Hotel nearby.

Bad: big modern hotel with all the worse aspects of modern hotels. GOOD: One of the Best views from the rooftop terrace and pool (summer only). Only sleep there if you find an offer for less than 39 bucks .Avoid the BBQ restaurant too!

Stayed here for 10 days in 2016. Nice Large Clean Room. The staff was Very friendly and Very Helpful in tracking down some lost luggage. Staff can speak English. The Breakfast Layout Is Fantastic! The Bar that is attached was nice and had a decent crowd by the time i went to be(Uruguayans Stay up Late...I will stay here again.

Unhelpful front desk both before and upon arrival. Luckily stayed just the one night - for convenience (close to Tres Croces station). Hair on bathroom floor was probably the worst bit. Downstairs restaurant okay for American style grub. Overall not impressed with hotel though.

Helpful staffs, good price comfort beds, a wide variety of breakfast option available. Hotel location is in the center, great connectivity for Montevedio shopimg maal, pocitos, plaza inde, downtown. Buses are easily available..

Very good quality/price relationship. Comfortable rooms and excellent location. In the heart of beautiful, residential Punta Carretas neighborhood. Walking distance to coastline, restaurants and cafes, and a shopping mall.

Arrived here after an overnight flight from London, at 9am, told by unhelpful staff that could not get into room until 2pm No where to store luggage (we were part of a large group of 80+ peopleuntil a person said may be there was a spare conference room!! No coffee or tea facilities, or lounge area to sit and wait until 2pm Allegedly 4star but would struggle to be 1star in my opinion When we got to our room it was adequate. Advertised roof top swiming pool - this was under construction!! Food was served by a restaurant adjacent to hotel, which could be accessed from hotel, but you could not put the bill onto your room and settle the account just once when you checked out. Would certainly not recommend it if you had a choice

Absolutely beautiful hotel with a rooftop pool that overlooks the city. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was mediocre.

Nice hotel overall but the parking is paid aside and the breakfast gave the impression that wasnt made with high quality ingredients.

I have stayed there twice. Clean large and functional rooms. Good gym and outdoor pool at roof level. Feels a safe area. Close to food outlets and shops. 10 minutes walk to large indoor mall.

Big room, comfortable bed. I think the hotel would like to be kind of fancy place, but the service is not that good. Not bad, but a lot of things could improve (dirty walls, uncomfortable bath, front desk service).

Good quality price value . Its a nice neighborhood with plenty of places to eat at night , you have a parking connected to the hotel building. Very comfy bed and nice decoration.

Great localization and infrastructure with a terrible service (everytime we needed the hotel services, they were poorly delivered and it made us have a bad experience). Try other hotels nearby.
