It covers an area of 53.77 hectares (132.9 acres), which includes about 10.68 hectares (26.4 acresof lakes. Construction began in 1975 and it was opened to the public on January 1st, 1980. Overall a nice zoo. Its quite big, so it doesnt easily feel crowded. Entry fee is only 30 RMB, small kids free.The zoo doesnt offer many places to sit down and relax. The outdoor areas are well maintained, but the enclosures leave a bit to be desired.Parking is around the outside perimeter of the zoo, on the street. The parking cost 6 RMB per hour, with 30 RMB paid up front.

2019年2月26日に訪れた際は、一頭だけでしたがパンダ居ました。パンダ目当てでしたが他にも黒い白鳥やホワイトライオン、ホワイトタイガー等珍しいものが見られました。

It was winter when we went so the lakes were frozen. Not many people were there but we did see Panda (we were lucky that he was eating and not sleeping?). We didnt find any shop inside for food or other stuff. Worth visiting the Tiger section. They are so huge and scary. There are also peacocks. I will strongly suggest not to visit in winter. It closes around 5 pm and 4 pm in winter.

If you have never see pandas just go dont think.... Have a look at such cute and fun creatures that you can see nowhere else

里面的动物还是很多的，不过去了几次，一直都在维修。有的展馆设施看得出很老旧了，在狮虎山看到的老虎都很瘦，很可怜。

2011年那时去过一次天津动物园，那时环境很差，还有太多的需要另交门票的馆中馆，真不是个舒服的地方。不知现在有没有好些？
