Small urban zoo with a variety of animals, plus amusement rides, boating & walking paths.
I mean it is totally fine for the kids to spend a weekend here. Does not change much since the last time I been here (10+ years).Hope they can gather the resources the further improve the overall quality of this place. If you manage to visit here on weekdays, go and have a try.(Do not expect much tho)
Animal care is very poor in some areas (despite several fountains in the lake and park area, water in animal facilities is terribly dirty/green - siamese crocodiles - or almost absent - hippos; monkey facilities in some cases lack any branches or other places to climb etc., all cages lack any plants and they have hard floor made of tiles). On the other hand some animals have plenty of space and look good. The park is peaceful place for a walk and can be fun especially with children as there are many carousels, smalĺ roller coasters etc. Mediocre experience.
This park is a place that combines a zoo and an amusement park.*There is an admission fee which is 30.000d for adult and 20.000d for kids who are less than 1.3m tall. Also there is an additional fee when using the ride.
Blatant animal cruelty, do not go here.
Unexpectedly good. Enough attractions to keep kids amused and occupied. I was surprised at the amount of animals kept at zoo. It was reasonably priced for admission. Lions, tiger, giraffe, hippopotamus, monkey, birds and many more. Disappointed to see elephant chained though. A few funfair rides and the obligatory big ball on the lake where kids can mess around inside it . Nice day out.
Terrible animal welfare standards.Enclosures small, dirty and poorly maintained. Elephants chained to the spot in their enclosure. No visible enrichment for the animals.Rabbits 2 to a cage in a cage which was less than 1m long and 50cm high and wide and with no visible water supply. This was on a day which was 32 degrees in the shade and they were clearly suffering. The tiger was pacing up and down in its cage which was clearly too small for it.The toilets were filthy and some stalls had no doors. The paths have not been maintained and though there are some nice trees and vegetation paths wound under them are very broken up.There are a lot of fun fair amusement rides we did not try them.We did try the inflatable balls that go on the lake and the kids did enjoy that.
Why are the elephants chained? They were clearly stressed out in that situation. Let them at least roam around freely. For all the rest the park is good
its animal abuse, i left the zoo depressed
Ok
So many things have changed since I was 10 (Im now 22). It wasnt as interesting as it had been. Less diversity of wild animals, dull entertaining games, and so on. When I was there last week, I was a little disappointed.
Some animals look as if they’re starving. The mini train ride was so loud and almost all of the enclosures were empty.
Too crowded and too little animals. Not a true zoo
Okla
Animals have a very small space to live and the elephants are chained to trees. Heartbreaking and sad.The park was also very dirty!
The zoo is good for children. But some of us may not feel comfortable with the smell sometimes.
Some parts are being under rebuilded, hope those will be better spots for guests
So crowded on the 3rd day of Tet holiday. Most of them are family with kids. There are many animals such as Bengal tiger, hippos… Besides animals, the park also has a variety of energetic outdoor activities such as swan boat driving, high speed train or rollerblading. Ticket price is very reasonable but not inclusive. If you use other services or buy something more while strolling through the park, you’ll to pay more.
Price for an adult is 30K, 20K for children. The zoo is located in a park around a nice lake. There were hardly any people which is to be expected now. It was mostly peaceful and felt like you were outside of the city, apart from some construction they are doing throughout the zoo to improve it.
The place itself is nice. It’s a lovely walk around a pond but that’s where it ends. The poor animals don’t look like they enjoy life very much.
The animals are kept in small cages and not nice conditions elephants kept chain up wich is wong and got chage when it was free to go in we arrived late which means it was free to get in .They need to pay this money back .
Good place but too crowded and smaller compared to other country Zoo gardens. Cages are small. Need to improve cleanliness.
There are mosquitoes. There smells like animals. But lake is peaceful!
Located at very convenient place,, deserve a a visit ,, beautiful lake at the centre of zoo make the zoo more attractive,,
Pretty empty. Small and oldschool cages for animals. But it was for free. So better than regular park anyway.
Animals not treated well. Skinny animals, dirty cages, not all have fresh water available. Elephants chained up with only about 5 to 10 feet to move. Animals barely move and are very sad and lethargic. If they spent as much time and money on the animals as they do the gardens things may be better. I would not recommend. It was heartbreaking.
This is a combination amusement park and zoo. The noisy and colourful carnival rides are right next to the animal enclosures, which are too small and contain no plants or enrichment activities. The animals are obviously distressed and in poor condition. Overall this was a really upsetting experience and if you value animal welfare you will avoid this zoo.
Not a nice place to see animals, most enclosures way too small and animals showing sings of distress e.g. loosing feathers, pacing, life less. Saw more rats than any other wild life. Animals in serious need of better care..... maybe charge 30 rather than 20 on the door and give animals better quality of life.
It the good place, it so many animals of the world
The zoo is already nice and offers an escape from the traffic in Hanoi. There are signs up saying how much money is being put into improving the zoo for the animals and visitors. Currently good but in the future could be amazing. Well worth a visit.
Nice place but need more cleaning activities. Only 20.000VND/adult and 10.000VND/kid.
Very interesting. You can do exercite in the Morning and everning with a fresh air. Alot kinds of animal: elephants, monkies, Tigers, bears, lions, hores, giraffies, deers, crocodiles, zibras, birds and alot more in the Thu Le zoo.
Ha Noi Zoo, in Ba Dinh district, Ha Noi, was recognised as a tourist site according to a recent decision approved by the Ha Noi city People’s Committee. The decision also announced that Ha Noi Zoo Co. Ltd has responsibilities to manage and develop the site in accordance with the Law on Tourism and related legal documents. Established in 1976, Ha Noi Zoo, also known as Thu Le Park, covers around 29 hectares in Ngoc Khanh ward. It is home to 600 individuals of over 100 species including amphibians, saltwater fishes, mammals, and birds. More than 40 species among them are endemic species which are listed in the Vietnam’s Red Book, such as the Asian golden cat, Indochinese tiger, leopard, and Vietnamese fireback. Ha Noi Zoo joined the South East Asian Zoos Association in 1993 and has expanded its cooperation with many zoos and other wildlife conservation organisations around the world. It opens for the public from 8:00 to 18:00 every day.
Silent and proper size is nice for going around..
This was a beautiful little park with a path to walk around. It was very quiet and serene. It was only 3,000 dong to enter. It had a couple of lakes, a peacock cage, some sculptures and other bits. From google maps, it appears you can walk through to the government building and separate part of the park but this did not appear to be the case.
To be frank, its not a state-of-the-art park or zoo. But to me, it was interesting experience to visit here and understand the lives of common people in Vietnam.
nice place for kid in weekend.
Its ok animals look sad and dirty, busy with everyone trying to get animals attention there are some rides for the kids but very basic. Simple food vendors dot the park. Nice lake with swan boats. Worth the visit for people watching
Nice place for kids, not too much animal but a large playground and stuff to play, a lot of tree and healthy.
Not a very great place for tourists, but local children loves the place..
Just like old time, with good maintenance and new animals. Good for weekend hangout with friends or family. But the above is for Vietnamese standard. Dont expect too much from this if you come from developed countries though
Cheap admission fee, just 10,000Đ.
Not so many animals, but the entrance is cheap, you just can enjoy easy walk around, it is peaceful, there they have tigers, lion, 2 beautiful rhinos, many monkeys, bears, birds, elephants, ... there are some kinder playground.
Usually crowd with kids, same old animal every years but kids like them. Good for families want outside at weekend. Be careful with the crowd, as usual. There are 2 entrances, with both motobike & car parking. Ticket is cheap, 50cent/person.
I wouldn’t recommend this place. Conditions of some of the animals is pathetic. Enclosures are very small and it’s too hot for the animals.
Nice walk in the middle of the city. Some animals to see, but not many. Need more up keeping and cleaning. Cheap entamce fee of 10,000vnd. Good for a family stroll.
Compared to many zoos weve visited the animals are in small inadequate enclosures. However, we knew not to expect a western-type zoo with lots of resources. We spoke to an (Englishanimal welfare officer we met who was doing an inspection and heard that they are trying to gradually improve things, which is positive. We did see some interesting animals, including elephants, tigers, asiatic bears, porcupines, monkeys and exotic birds, although there are no snakes or other reptiles. There are also lots of fairground type rides, really for under sixes. Cost 10,000 dong pp.
Zoo was value for money, very cheap yet a decent variety of animals available, including elephants, tigers, lions, bears, hippopotamus. There were also theme-park-like attractions, with our children enjoying driving the (slowbumper cars. The lake provided a nice view. The only downside was the park appeared run down & not well maintained, and located quite far from Old Quarter.
it is amazing, monkey, tiger, lion.the lake ia big. you can find many animals and birds if you come. it is really a good place for lovers and family tour.
Excellent healthy outdoors place. Very relaxing atmosphere, lots of animals, nice fresh air. Good for kids and healthy adults alike.
Two stars for the nice park.So sad to see these animals anoying in such a tiny place, tiny cages...Take care of them or free thema
