Cafe & bar with a cozy, antique vibe & a barrel-filled room for sampling jenever (Dutch gin).
Three Little Bottles in Amsterdam
Description
Wonderful place! I recommend the Kopstoot, very typical cocktail from Amsterdam
In thebverybheart of tourist Amsterdam you have this little gem where you can sample janever! I would highly recommend grating a beer, janever and some ossenworst!
MoreMy favorite bar in Amsterdam by far!! Bar tender was super friendly and told us everything we needed to know, including a history lesson. All around great experience. Will definitely be back next time I visit the Netherlands!!
MoreStylish and unique with an incredible old vibe. Super nice staff and prices relatively cheaper than in other places in a similar bar in Amsterdam. Great location as well!
MoreGreat place! Johannes offers a great service. Like home.
Beautiful authentic Dutch pub, the stuff is nice and helpful. Because of them, and the inside and the fine drinks worth to visit. If you have Amsterdam City Card you get a free spirit, but worth to stay and drink one (or morebeer too. 🍻
MoreSuch a cosy place. Definitely one of my the most favorite pub in Amsterdam 😊
Splendid! Stand-up only spot, but you really can’t miss it if you like booze 😉 in a very quaint part of town. Our waiter was very kind, knowledgeable and we felt very integrated into the local, historical culture.
MoreTraditional pub for tasting Jenever, liquors and beers, one of my favorite spots
What a great place. Go here to try jenevir in a most authentic setting. They have plenty of different ages of the drink so you can really get a good overview.Inside the bar is lovely; small and full of atmosphere. Ask the barman what the barrels along the wall are used for; you will have a pleasant surprise!
MoreA fantastic bar. Polite staff and a really great atmosphere. Would highly recommend popping in for a drink.
MoreAn awesome place, with cocktails, usually standing. Open since 1650 so its like a time capsule. Didnt know about it and really like it.The meatball was really good.
MoreBest local bar, and traditional Dutch cocktails
The best place to drink !!Elegant, sober and cozy, the service is 10 out of 10 and the drinks are of the best quality.
MoreGreat local place for a drink :)
Authentic, cosy and great drinks and services. Must go whenever you are in Amsterdam
MoreI cannot get more real traditional and alive then that !
Atmospheric small bar with an authentic feel and an all year round terrasse that caters both local citizens and tourists.
MoreVery good liquors. Excellent service.A very cozy place. Definitly worth a visit.Take one of the various drinks, youll get a good advice from the bartender ;)Greetings from germany.
MoreLovely staff! So kind, Johannes explained us the history of jenever in the Netherlands. Plenty of options, delicious jenever.
MoreAmazing local spot! The owner Johannes was so nice and kind and explained the history of genever to us and recommend some really nice ones to us you definitely have to try the meatballs and the sausage accompanied with a beer and genever!
More*Great beer. But the service. Came on a sunny afternoon to have a tipple and something for my driving brother. Still some seats outside we thought wed been lucky. We were served by a grumpy man, talking in Dutch - both of us are foreigners living in different countries but DO speak more than one language. Unfortunately the fluent Dutch was not in our repertoire, but were happy to enjoy the hospitality the barman provided - in Dutch. After couple minutes of being lost in translation, meanwhile we were trying to reach our goal, he explained, the MENU IS IN DUTCH, SO ARE THE BEERS. His fluent English could explain the T&Cs of how we order a beer from a Dutch written menu, if we SPEAK Dutch. So my brother - not being fluent but can pick something from a selection - got me a beer, but for the sake of the quality of service he rather rejected any other well-stocked non-alcoholic drinks. So had the beer drank it quicker than I used the toilet and said a lovely farewell to the place I AM CERTAINLY NOT COMING BACK. And I still say, the beer was grand.*Our whole trip on the Netherlands ended so well, that I need to mention, Dutch hospitality is KING, but if you are not a nationalist, rather find the rest pubs/bars.
MoreThis little place was an oasis on a hot summer day. The barkeep was one of the nicest people I ever met. What a spot!
MoreA very relaxed atmosphere. The man behind the bar was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was quite small though and we ended up sitting next to a few other couples, which is just not for me. If the weather had been better the outside seating would have been my preferred choice. I would definitely return.
MoreDe Drie Fleschjes – known in English as The Three Little Bottles – is a historic Dutch bar located just behind the New Church on the Dam Square.A historical Dutch bar, dark and small, located just behind the New Church and next to the Palace, The Three Little Bottles – in Dutch is a De Drie Fleschjes, it’s one of the oldest watering holes in the city. They have been operating as a ‘tasting room’ since 1650 and doesn’t look much changed. They serve a wide range of traditional Dutch spirit Jenevers (a juniper based drink, a Dutch version of a ginas well as a great range of seasonal rotating beers on tap. This place has a lot of character. We were there last Saturday, as ending of our tour with several expats. It was just amazing how cozy and lovely this place is. Be aware there is a little place, so come with not too many friends ;-beside that you will meet interesting people right there ;-)The Owner and the bar tenders are friendly and welcoming whether you’re a local or a tourist.
MoreReally cool and authentic bar which has a lot of choices for genever and local beers. I would recommend trying their tiny cocktails/shots with genever because the drink is very unique. The bertender was really informative and friendly ! Loved this experience.
MoreHasn’t changed in the 25 years I’ve been visiting and is well worth a visit. Be prepared to stand though.
MoreWowww!antique bar from the 17th century. The whole place is filled with private barrels. Some bars hire people to just work and make their money, but this place - it feels like the bartender is giving everything for this bars great atmosphere, very professional!came for 4 days in a row to drink Jopen local beer.
MoreVery small bar. Cosy. Very limited seating. Historical building. Lined with century old casks, rented by private families or companies, filled with their favorite concoction. Just for drinks and a small snack. Sip the head off your drink bent over the counter before carrying it away
MoreA must-do if youre in the Palace area - the bartenders are friendly and enthusiastic, and talked me through the traditions of their Genever. Not a ton of seating, even in the early afternoon, so be prepared to stop by, take a drink at the bar, and go. A fun introduction to a Dutch institution.
MoreCome here every time I’m in Amsterdam. The old Jenever on a summer day combined with a light beer and their homemade meatballs isthe recipe for a perfect afternoon.
MoreTypical Dutch winery. I have been here to taste a typical dutch spirit. The atmosphere is rowdy and the place is attended mostly by dutch people. Inside this pub there is a very strong smell of wine, barrels and grape must, and personally it disturbed me a lot. Prices average. Very bad beer.
MoreGreat beer, loved the vibe of this place. The beer cans really adds to the ambiance.
MoreA great coffee shop with rows of barrels of wine and spirits. Its like a tapas for the drinker. Located just of the main Dam square. In this city of many great coffee shops, this is a must try.
MoreNice place with lots of history. Local companies have their own barrel to drink from. Nice if you find a olace but it is often crowded.
MoreA must see if you ever visit Amsterdam. They tried hard to keep it as original as possible. That means 18th century pub style. It is sponsored by Bols which is one of the oldest and largest jenever brands. Try a "boswandeling" or a "grave bitter" they are very good. I also recomment the local osseworst as a snack. The crowd is mixed locals and tourist and I regularly meet very interesting people here.
MoreGreat place to try gins. Go inside & talk to the barman about what you like. The gin aged in Bourbon barrels was especially good. Unfortunately, they do not sell bottles
MoreBeautiful, traditional, historic bar, not to be missed! Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable bartender
MoreVery cozy place and a very friendly bartender tat explained to us the different types of beer offered. Highly recommended.
MoreWonderful place! The young server is so cute. Free shot of Dutch jin with the I Amsterdam card. Very friendly and fun place.
MoreFantastic and authentic genever bar. The staff are knowledgeable about the bars history (including the ancient casks in the walland the genever. It does close early though.
MoreGreat old building, nicely laid out for an authentic feel with the old barrels along the back wall. The bar tender was knowledgeable and helpful and great selection of tasty jenever.
MoreNo trip to Amsterdam is complete without a stop here for a few shots of jenever and a beer or two. Each time we have visited here has been extremely interesting principally because of the people we met. They included Dietrich who offered us shots from his personal family barrel, David a wonderful and friendly bartender and a group of five tourists that included a man from Illinois who is good friends with my high school football coach Bob Bogel.
MoreWe visited it since our Amsterdam Card included a free jenever shot here. The guy on the bar was really really nice, and the place looks the same it may have looked a hundred years ago. We really liked it!
MoreAmazing place with excellent drink choices and good bar snacks. Robin is a fantastic host and we look forward to returning as soon as we can.
MoreUnbelievable. From the history to the atmosphere. One of my favorite experiences in all my years of travel. My only regret is not purchasing one of the books they had for sale.
MoreAmazing little pub thats been around for hundreds of years. Awesome environment and enthusiastic Barkeeper knowing his stuff. Go visit!
MoreFor alcohol tasting lovers. Its a tasting house of Bols which is a traditional locally produced liquor. Simon is the person who is kind enough to explain everything and takr you through the tasting
MoreCozy. Great drinks, typical Dutch drinks, with a story or explanation if you need from friendly staff. Can be busy (read too busyon Friday evenings after work, but generally very accessible.
MoreAnthony bourdain does not disappoint. Jenever was great. The meatballs are delicious. The ambience sends you back in time.
