Well done and stylish exterior. Extremely nice and professional stuff. I didn’t stay here, but come for a dinner. I had T-bone steak, served with chips and salad. Meat was delirious. I think the best I eat up to this moment(I’m traveling east africa for 2.5 month, visited Ethiopia, Somaliland, Zanzibar and Tanzania - mainlanabsolutely recommended.

So friendly and helpful, we were late upon reaching Kasama yet we found dinner ready and our rooms were clean; definitely what we needed. The coffee was out of this world and they were happy to make us enough for our travel mugs too.

Thorn tree is an amazing place with classy and delicious food and the best guest house which prepares nice food and a pleasant environment for everyone. The rooms are clean and well ventilated.

Always a pleasure to stay at Thorn Tree. It has a very homely ambience which is exactly what one needs after driving such a long distance

I stay in the area. My friends and I frequent Thorn Tree and Ive recommended them as a place to stay for visitors. However, I went recently to have a casual drink but they refused to sell one unless I ordered a meal (even though in the past Ive done so and it was fine). From experience, food takes a long time to arrive and I didnt have that time. It was rude to refuse service especially as a frequent customer. I will take my business elsewhere and I wont recommend this place any more. That being said, the grounds are really beautiful and it is a nice place to stay, but there are plenty of other businesses in kasama with better customer service.

Terrible service, lost my reservation. Treated me like a criminal for not having cash (they dont accept cards). Wouldnt call me a cab to get to an atm. Had a guard walk me out of their premises like a criminal. Oh... And had me sit in the cold for 3 hours because the owner gets upset when you wake him up. Is it possible to give less than one star?

If you want coffee, its a right place for you.

Lovely old place. Food is typical but of a good standard. They do need a new fridge for cold drinks and an overhaul of the shower system, however they are excellent value for money currently.

It’s the best in Kasama. However, do not get cottage! It gets flooded every time it rains!!! The cleaning people seems to forget to clean the cottage. Floors seems like never been washed.Food is great! Has a hot water and a stand up shower.The dogs Hate kids. My son got bitten.

Peaceful place, I had a rare chance to view bat migration from this place. Just awesome.

As we have decided to go and do a sunday lunch at Thorn tree we booked in advance. We waited a long time to be attended to. Afterwards the waiter seated us down, she did not ask for any beverages and disappeared. After some time se pitch with the meat with no rice or vegetables as ordered The meat was allready cold by the time the rest of the meal pitch We then ask her for beverages, and the beer and softdrinks were warm. After the meal we askes her for the reciept and it took her around 45min to complete the process from preparing the reciept until we recieved our change. I will not return anytime soon to thorntree as the qaulity of service is extremely poor!

This is an unparalleled venue for a quiet escape whist in Kasama. Thorne tree has very friendly staff and so are the beautiful dogs. The meals have a lovely taste of difference in a area where standards are still lacking. The aromatic theme from the backyard brewed coffee makes this places a perfect escape for a quiet retreat in a rather noisy environment.A visit to Kasama is not complete if it does not bottle down to a visit to Thorne tree.

Nice location with a comfortable layout. Grounds well manicured with lawn sitting. Rooms are rustic with a local traditional feel having reed mat Ceilings. Food is great with a wide variety of local and foreith cuisine and a well stocked bar.

Wonderful place, the owners are lovely people :-), food is excellent. I would definitely recommend this as the best place to stay and no doubt this is where I plan to stay whenever I am in Kasama.Plus their coffee is heavenly!Anyone who knows me knows that I am a very fussy person when it comes to where I stay or what I eat. So trust me when I say its good, then its really good!!

Very friendly hosts, good location, good food.

A really lovely place with a laid back vibe and homely feel. I camped out on the back lawn but had no difficulty conversing with other guests or enjoying a beer and a tasty cooked meal in the evening on the patio.
