Ancient temple on the banks of Bharathapuzha ( Nila, nearest railway station is Kuttippuram . Dedicated to Lord Vishnu , who represents the preserver . Temple is famous for offering Bali for ancestors. Its performed annually, especially on the particular star of malayam calandar, in which the soul departed the body.
Ancient temple and river superb. We required 10000+ eyes to see the wonderful atmosphere
This temple is famous for pitru tharpanam. Like most of the temples in Kerala, One has to pay charges at the ticket counter 40 rs , And dip in the river(clothes the male needs to wear is mundu or dhoti or veshtiand in the wet clothes offer the tharpanam. All the ritual pooja items will be provided by the temple. After the ritual is complete, the wet clothes have to be changed. The temple strictly does not allow pants or other non Indian wear. Strictly men have to be in dhoti and their shirts removed.

Great ambiance. Very cooperative temple staff.Really nice place to worship. There is beautiful view of Nila from here
The temple is one of the 108Divya Desams and wonderfully maintained. It is one of the beautiful temples I have ever visited. We visited the temple on 29/6/2022 and it was cool and drizzling. The temples closes at 11 am so plan to visit before if you are planning a morning visit. Offering darpanam to deceased ancestors here is considered as holy as offering it in Kasi. You can take bath in the river and change clothes. There are clean restrooms available. We went by govt bus from guruvayur to kuttipuram bus stand and then took an auto from there. While returning there were frequent buses to kunnamkulam which 7 kms from guruvayur so we took a bus to kunnamkulam and another bus from kunnamkulam to guruvayur. The travel was scenic.
Calm peaceful atmosphere. I go to less crowded temples or churches for peace and this place is ideal for that. I found ample parking nearby.
Lovely divyadesam at the banks of barathapuzha river. Separate shrine for thayar too. Accommodation available. Free prasadam served
Neat and clean. Dhevayam lodge is there. It is cheaper and the best. Double room with 24 hours hot water. Delux rooms are also available. Advance booking can be down.
Well-maintained temple on the shore of Bharathapuzha. Best known for bali karma - would recommend people to reach the temple and take their tokens by 6am, as most karmikal finish their pooja karmangal by 8 am. The karma area is on the steps to Bharathapuzha - overlooking the Trimoothis, with Shiva and brahma temples on the other shore of Bharathapuzha and the temple itself being a Vishnu temple. The steps lead to the Bharathpuzha, but for the safety of people doing the karmangal, there is a metal fence created with iron bars, which help people take their baths or do their dunks into the water safely. The karmikal and their helpers make sure the place is maintained clean and neat after each round of people doing their bali karmangal. The system is very well created and maintained properly. Post the rituals, the temple visit also offers the public offer their prayers for their ancestors to Navamukunda. There will also be annadanam in the ootupura for those interested
A shrine devoted to Vishnu on the banks of bharatapuzha. The temple also serves as a place to spread ashes of deceased people. With a rich history and a great ambiance, the temple and surroundings are worth a visit if you come here.Remember to get dhoties too because the temple doesnt permit wearing of pants/western clothes for males

A serene place of worship located on the banks of Bharathapuzha.Well maintained temple and accommodation facilities..
Very peaceful temple. Om Namo Narayanaya
I visited this temple along with my parents who wanted to perform ancestorial rituals. The temple is famous for such procedures and appears to have a history with the Great Markandeyan, the intense believer of Lord Shiva who protected him from Lord Yama. It is said that Markandeyan asked Lord Vishnu to save him from Lord Yama and that Lord Vishnu asked me to meet Lord Shiva at Thriprangode temple who only can help him. And Lord Vishnu made a small exit at back of His sanctum sanctorum through which he escaped, swam across Bharatha puzha to reach Lord Shiva at Thriprangode temple. Lord Yama who followed him through the small exit got His buffalo stuck at that exit so that Markandeyan had time to escape and this accomplished what he wanted. Such a beautiful history that everybody must visit this temple atleast once.
Serene, holy and peaceful atmosphere, our loved ones attain moksha here, must visit..
Visited there for the first time and the rituals are something well organised. They have token system there where the corresponding token number is mentioned on the respective columns. They could have some shelter with seats for the people waiting for their turn. Also, they could make the cleaning process little faster by avoiding manual efforts to avoid congestion.Overall its a nice experience to visit the place for the first time. And the early mrng clouds were fantastic. But couldnt capture as photography is banned there.
Thirunavaya templeWe planned for long finally able to visit. We can do Valli karma also here. They will guide you properly. From Ramanattukara it is 1 hour drive but if traffic. It will take 1 and 1/2 hours.Better to plan on holiday morning time. When we visited it was less crowded.
