Always a friendly and great atmosphere! I definitely second the best Italian sodas, fresh brewed coffee, roasted in house!Lots of art locally made, as well as fresh animal treats also locally made!But the best part of this little gem is definitely Erin & Pat, mother & daughter duo, always provides joy, warmth and excellent service, no matter how busy they get! 5 stars guys! Keep up the amazing work!

I had the most awesome experience here. Came in to buy local coffee for a friend, it was so freshly roasted it was still warm. Then a super kind gentleman bought my drink for me and Erin made me the BEST Italian soda Ive had in a long time. Finally I found some chicken flavoured cat nip to bring home to my cats and it turns out the guy who makes it was sitting right there drinking coffee. Perfect little vacation afternoon.

One of our favorite coffee shops, havent been going out too much due to covid issues but still one of the best shops in town. ✌️

Do not recommend. These guys are closed more often than they are open, with no set hours. Dont bother wasting your time and go to Tim Hortons instead.

Meet familiar smiling faces who come for the same reason - comfort, fun, community, fabulous coffee and food, and most of all, Erin, the owner operator comedian, philosopher, cook, barista, roaster, and bottle washer who does everything and connects with everyone. Thirsty Spirit is Nanaimos community hub, philosophers cafe, and Cheers sitcom. Thank you, Erin, for all you do for all of us!!!

If you are looking for a place with a friendly home town atmosphere and fantastic coffee Thirsty spirit should definitely be your go to! The owner is friendly and her freshly made Nanaimo bars are the best in town. If you get a chance to have her loaded baked potato soup too its to die for <3

Erin and her mom Pat are some of the friendliest people you can find. Warm sincere service and good fresh roasted coffee. Me and my buddies had their onion soup made from scratch. It was great. They also have a bitcoin machine with great prices. If they have the loaded potato soup order it! It is so rich tasting and good based on an old Irish recipe. They also have in house fresh roasted fair trade beans which are a great take home. Sumatra Dark Roast is out of this world.

LOVE this place. I broke up with Starbucks and am SO HAPPY I did. Erin went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make me happy... AND they make food in-house.. how yummy is that?Fair trade, roasted in house... Zero reason to not support this local biz

I rarely give a 5 out of 5, but this place deserves it! A lovely cafe which is family owned and operated. High-quality ingredients and tasty treats baked in house. Hard to find these days. Highly recommend you detour from your usual Starbucks and sample Thirsty Spirit. (Fair prices too!)

Great place. The coffee is freshly roasted, the scones fresh baked, and all was delicious. The barista was hilarious and friendly. Will come back!

Really great place to go get a coffee after shopping. The staff are extremely friendly and they have the best Nanaimo bars in town, maybe even in the province. They are also staying open for take-out in this difficult time, so everyone should check the place out. 10/10

This is a great friendly cafe shop. The staff of mother and daughter are amazing, super nice and accommodating. I couldnt ask for anything more from a coffee shop. They were so happy to let me sit and wait a few hours. Way better atmosphere than another big box coffee shop.

We had a wonderful visit to this coffee shop looking for Nanaimo bars. The ladies working were just the nicest, sweetest and generous people Ive met in a long time. We will make a point to stop by every time we go to/through Nanaimo. P.S their Nanaimo bars are killer, as is the conversation - ask about the history of these sweet treats, they can tell you! Thank you ladies!

Erin and pat are amazing and the coffee shop is just wonderful! These ladies work hard and are just great people! I will tell everyone i know to go here for coffee. They are so down to earth its nice to enjoy a good conversation. I go here weekly! The food is amazing especially the soups erin makes! The coffee is local and roasted in house soo good! These are good people. They make quality traditional meat pies, their coffee is of excellent quality. They do regular fundraisers for first responders and service people.

Delicious scones, fresh roasted (in housecoffee and friendly atmosphere. I like that if you bring your own cup you are only charged for a small and they sell their day olds for cheap. Bonus- bitcoin atm that you can buy and sell bitcoin from.

The food the coffee are excellent. The service is unbelievable. The owner makes everyone feel so welcomed. They even are pet friendly. Defintely the best coffee shop around. Truly recommend this place

She made sure I got my esspresso just the way I like it and I’ve had the breakfast bagel and crossiant- both excellent! Going to go back to try the sandwiches next time. Just finished the truffle Nanaimo bar she makes from scratch and my god, it’s delicoius.Highly recommend, you must visit!
