Thevally palace is a 200 year old historical building of Kollam. For the tourist visitors it may not give the typical experience of a palace visit as now it is used and will be experienced as the NCC group headquarters than a palace museum.Made of lime and laterite this palace is a blend of British , Portuguese, Dutch and the typical Rain saving trapezoid roof style Kerala architecture. The view of Ashtamudi lake from the nearby bridge can be a scenic sunset view.
This place is no more a palace now. Its the place for training NCC cadets and all. For tourists coming to visit this palace it will be a waste of time. U cant see anything historical here. Only the backwater scenary.

This place is not open for pubic, ncc office and military canteen functions here..Not sure why authorities are not taking any initiatives to declare it as a heritage building and shift the ncc office from here to some other place. It would be nice if the district administration do some works to dig out the history related to this place and display it properly
Im wondering if they use it for NCC campus how do they keep the place clean especially the toilets? As per my experience mostly in NCC campus the toilets will start stinking after two days
