Thebe River Camping in Nata
Description
Privilege
Rooms are small and compact. Clean. But the food leaves much to be desired.
Very dirty and sometimes no running water
I do recommend that you use thebe river camps river excursions as the local alternatives might be cheaper but will have you waiting for an hour ..Thebes camp sites are great I think number 14 is the best ine next to the swimming pool and ablution blocks .. overall very friendly staff and would go there again
MoreBucket-list box ticked. Enjoyable but didnt keep us entertained as long as we were expecting it too
MoreExcellent home made burger.
Nice staff, good pizza
Best service and camping sites
Exceptional view of the river. Great camp site.
Stayed in the rooms. Great to have aircon. Rooms small & a bit dark but comfortable & clean. Nicely kept outdoor area. We liked the bar although no river view.
MoreCampsite number 1 is the best and near the river where you can hear the hippos. Nice ablutions with no TP or soap in the dispenser , but otherwise nice hot water and spacious shower. Have food and alcohol and the pizza was not to bad. My second time camping here , a lot nicer than Chobe Safari campsite, more open .
MoreRooms werent clean. Customer service very poor
Beautiful resort located in the vicinity of Chobe River with a serene natural milieu!
MoreGreat camping and lodging, nice restaurant.
We were disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm from the front desk staff, we waited quite some time to get attention and had to go looking for some one. We reported the dirty basins at the back of the ablution block, where we were supposed to wash our dishes, nothing happened. The ablution block was full of spider webs and not clean at all, also a lack of hot water for the showers. When we wanted them to help us to phone our Guide, the reception lady said they cant phone out... We also cleaned our camping site from old rubbish, before we set up camp. It is a very well centered camping spot, well shaded and it is sad to see deterioration in quality when everybody needs tourism.
MoreReview for the restaurant,0 guests, this time of year is a no-no, left there and went to Chobe Safari
MoreWarm showers, free wi Fi, flash toilets. Electricity. Bathrooms were full of spider webs and insects. Hardly any guests. We did Covid testing at the Zim boarder the day before and got results next morning 8:15. 500 pula. Can pay by card. Traveling to Zambia- the new bridge was great!
MoreNice camping facility with everything you need, ablution nice and clean and well maintained
MoreComfortable lodge with good facilities. Really enjoyed the sunset game drive to the Makgadikgadi pans that they offered. It was a memorable stay
MoreThis is my 5th time camping here and even though its not possible it was better than usual. The pizza in the restaurant was FANTASTIC. The wifi in the bar is good but wasnt working in reception. Our campsite under thatch was peaceful and the resident dog slept outside my tent. The ablutions are excellent and spotless.
MoreGreat dinner, great breakfast, all value for money but the rooms are small and no view of the Chobe river unless you are camping at stand 1-4.
MoreKasane residents highly rate their bar......the service is superb!
Good showering and communal eating facilities. Also did a good game drive into the Chobe and a river cruise too.
MoreThe place is fine it cud be better if the rooms had fridges and TV. The food is great though
MoreJust a place to keep as stay for 1 night and go away. No river view, kind of cheap motel, small and poor rooms with noisy fan. Crowdy of buses , poor restaurant..for sure it does not let you feel to be in Africa.
MoreNice riviercruise. Glad we ate at Nandos, heard about utter chaos at diner there.
MoreCute cat. Room okay. Glad we didnt eat there but went to Nandos. For what we heard food ordered in the afternoon didnt arive till late at night. No fun when you have to get up at 5...
MoreSuitable for all types of travellers, excellent amenities, camping with minimal impact to the environment. All sight seeing activities can be booked here. Amazing staff at reception, Dudu was exceptionally helpful.
MoreGreat place! Everything well organized, clean and the food in the Bushbaby restaurant was really good!
MoreWas comfortable with great viewing opportunities. No bug problems at all. Did prepare with long sleeves and long pants, but no buzzing. Glad to roll up slves and enjoy.
MoreOne of the prettiest places Ive ever stayed. Sunsets on the Chobe is just absolutely breathtaking and everyone was really friendly and helpful. Great place!
MoreStayed 2 nights in room. Clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi only in reception area. Beautiful decor and landscape. Did not visit camping area but at least over overland truck was there. Close to Chobe.
MoreIts truly beautiful. Camping right on chobe river. Friendly service. Good food. Very attentive staff. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Clean and cosy chalets.
MoreSo this gets stars as it is one of the most secure campsites in Kasane. But pretty it aint. There are trees for shade and each camp area is walled off and there is privacy for each camping area. But it is frequented by Overlanders who seem to pay a lot of money to find places to party...why not just stay in London or Sidney and party there...but who am I to cramp their style. The restaurant is spacious and serves nice food, friend staff and good vibe if you are not an old curmudgeon, like me.
Moreworst place ever. They do not care about the normal people camping there. They only interested in the overlanders!! Attitude at reception very very bad. Campsites were wet we could not camp there. No electricity as promised. Pool empty. Open electrical wires everywhere. Place falling apart. Will never go back or reccommend it. WiFi gets switched off when there is to many people. No hot water. Disgrace i would say.
MoreLovely place to stay pity about no fridges or tvs in the room but still very comfortable and they have an amazing restaurant and Bar
MoreSo cool staff so friendly
When is rains in floods! Dont camp if you see a wet weather warning. On other note bar staff were very friendly and love a dance.
MoreVery well equipped and friendly lodge with camp sites. There is a pool and decent Wi-Fi.The restaurant serves pizza from a wood fired oven and served a very respectable burger on a home made patty.Outings can be arranged from the front desk to both Victoria falls and to the Chobe nature reserve as well as boat trips on the river. It is walking distance from the local Shopright market and Puma filling station.Lovely lodge will be back on my next visit to Kasane.
MoreOut of three camping places in Kasane that we checked out we liked this one the most and stayed there for two nights in our rooftop tent. Our camping place was number 4, it was well equipped, but without any grass only sand and gravel, not pretty but functional. Bathrooms were clean, personnel were kind. During the night this camp can be very loud with wildlife (birds, hippos), sometimes it woke us up. When asking for transport to Vic Falls and safari rides in Chobe at the reception we noticed that their prices were super high, therefore we organised this by ourselves with agencies in downtown where it was more then three times cheaper. We also tried out camp restaurant where they serve good pizzas. One weird thing that happened to us here was that someone occupied our camping site during the time when we were not present (which was all the time during dayand they even left their chairs under our roof. It was a group of around 20 tourists with a few local guides who used our kitchen and dining space. Last day they even parked us so we couldnt get out and were cooking so we had to eat at the adjacent camping site and asked them to please let us out with our car, and they were not very happy to be bothered with this. I guess there was some kind of a misunderstanding around this camping site at the reception. Overall it was positive experience.
MoreGreat for a stop over, but the camp was somewhat noisy late at night which is a pity because it provided perfectly on all the other expectations that I had.
MoreGreat views over Chobe river at camp site. Grassed stands. Nice pool. Bar and restaurant are good value for money
MoreGreat meeting place, pizzas are superb! Value for money . Accomodation, camping , food and full bar with weekly entertainment
MoreNice place. Free wi fi only in Reception and Bar. Clean toiletts. You can arrange extra activities in the reception.
MoreThis was a nice place near Chobe. We only had a night hear and the room was cozy and clean with great facilities. Only major problem was extremely poor Wi-Fi which is something that happens from time to time so by no means a deal breaker.
MoreGreat place to stay and very beautiful and comfortable, we camped here but also ate at there restaurant, overall everything was good and we had great internet at the bar and reception
MoreWe stayed in the chalets. Nice clean budget accommodation centrally located for day trips to Chobe & Vic falls. The camping sites with clean ablution facilities are also very popular
MoreAwesome place with awesome camp sites.
Went there to grab pizza gosh it was wonderful. Look out for Thebe Carnivore which has lots of nice toppings. I loved it. The service is good. The barmen were so accommodating.
MoreThe rooms were adequate for a nights stay. The wood fire pizza at the bar was the best Ive had in Africa
MoreWe were allocated camping site 1 which was most likely the worst camping site at the venue. We had to pitch our tent and caravan on what seemed like a turning circle around a tree. We experienced a massive rain storm during the night which flooded our tent and water started to trickle into the caravan. The ekectrical connection points were out in the open and we had to disconnect the connection to avoid danger. The ablution block was quite a long walk from our site and nit well lit. The staff were not exactly friendly and we harassed by a vendor.
