An icon of performing arts place. Small, cozy which permits for small venue type of concerts. Many great Dominican artists have perform here.

Great places, simple, yet great energy, generally have night time events which are good to go. Look out for jazz nights.

Very classy

One of the best places, and within the colonial area, to get in touch with local theatre, comedy, and overall artistry. Pretty much always with painting and/or sculpture expositions available as the ones in the pictures. Some COVID-19 sanitation restrictions are still in place and last time I visited, the bar was not opened. Further, given its great location, just across the street you can find local beer and snacks, and within 100m range you can find full restaurant and the Santo Domingo cathedral. I recommend going and before checking online what’s on display for the week. Online ticket purchasing is usually an option and inside the theater, there’s light air conditioning.

We went there for Toque Profund 32nd anniversary sound was perfect, the bar staff was very friendly and the venue was limited to a small amount of people which made it very organized.

This wonderful place is a Cultural Center created by a famous Dominican writer, to host artistic manifestations of different areas. A place where art flows freely.Each year in his gallery there are more than 30 exhibitions of painting and photography, music, ballet, theater, conferences and other cultural expressions are produced. Cultural exchanges with other countries are carried out, their works and exhibitions are carried out in the cities of the interior, presentations to companies are organized. The house is open every day of the year and in its cafe bar the artists meet and the days of the week there is jazz or new song, or night of boleros.

Casa de Teatro is a gem that embodies the atmosphere in Zona Colonial. It promltes indie music, theatre, and aspiring/household artists. Casa has been around for more than 35 years.

Haven for jazz snobs and cultural leeches. This joint has a history of almost 45 years of service. Its a theater, a concert hall, a bar and art gallery, you name it. Its a truly interesting place that always has something new to offer.

An awesome cultural bar. Music, entertainment, drinks and laughs. A great variety of artistic performances occur here daily in a colorful place.

Spend a good time and get to know some local artists. Parking place right next door. If going to Zona Colonial check it out.

Hide out place, good place to hear new musicians, no parking lot, a little on the expensive side, I didnt like so much the food

We were looking for some live music whilst spending a couple of days in Santo Domingo and came across this. On the evening we went there were four amateur performers and most of the audience were their friends, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless. The venue was really pretty. The setting was a courtyard garden, filled with flowers, and there was a bar where which we bought wine from. They also did food - a table next to us had a meat and cheese platter. A lovely place to spend an evening.
