The carnivore restaurant in Thika

Awesome atmosphere at Carnivore. You are greeted by a giant circular grill with skewers of sizzling meat cooking. Unfortunately the rest of the experience was lacking. The server was slow and seemed disinterested and a majority of the meats were cooked well done. The lamb, and beef wouldve been better cooked to medium temps.I am really glad we visited the one time, but I dont have the need to visit again.

Absolutely brilliant atmosphere and food here and it was a great way to end our honeymoon in Kenya!You have the opportunity to try lots of different meats that you might not necessarily order from the menu.

OMG! This place is a vibe for sure. When I book clients to Nairobi I will make sure this place is on their itinerary.

All you can eat meat feast. A couple of interesting meats such as alligator and ostrich, but mostly it consisted of a wide selection of more regular meats such as lamb, chicken in different formats, turkey and beef.None of the meats were outstanding but all were very good and just made on the central big grill. A variety of sauces was available.Their special drink (Dawawas good as well and refreshing.The setting, price in relation of what you eat and staff are what makes it a 5 star place.If you like meat, is a must go.

Very fun place for a karoke and an exotic dining experience. Option of an all you can eat buffet (if you come early)or a menu service.

Talk of the meat at Carnivore oh! boy no comparison with any other joint in the city. There is the the restaurant and the main restaurant. The main restaurant you are served with game meat to eat to your fill. I the other restaurant you order in portions. The prices are so reasonable and preferably visit in a group. The location is accessible from all corners of the city.I love the service and the friendly atmosphere. Its the best place for family on a Sunday afternoon. Dont miss to ask for Carnivore dawa.

The staff were very friendly,from the entrance one of the staff helped to take really nice pictures and he was so welcoming.Great place to be for a meat buffet experience.Tasted all kinds of meat, the crocodile and the chicken were my favourite for the night , enjoyed the cocktails, fresh juice also and the deserts. Its best to visit hungry, even though I had only breakfast before dinner at the Carnivore,I was quick to surrender. It was called buffet but the drinks were not included and so we were charged separately, a tad pricey I think.I recommend you visit for the experience

We went to Carnivore restaurant at Nairobi. It was pre-booked via our travel agent and the majority of customers were tourists like us.The salad had minimal variety but was good. The sauce variety was extensive with each type of meat being paired with its own sauce. Soup was good.Of the exotic meats, we had ostrich and crocodile and both were good. We declined the ox balls.The remaining standard cuts of meat - beef, pork, chicken were pretty average, in fact the chicken was so hard that we could not eat it. Sausage was good.Service is erratic and attention to customers is poor.Having had similar experiences of rodizio dining at Picanha and Fazenda in UK, the concept was not new to us, but wanted to try the exotic meat. But not all types of exotic meat will be available everyday - so it depends on your luck what you will get that day.Overall, felt that the whole thing is a hype and actual quality of meat and cooking is pretty average. Service is also poor.

They offer many types of grills and they offer lots of it. They even offer crocodile grilled meat and they keep on offering till you get full.

The food is wonderful the ambience is awesome and the music is on point. Love carnival and would go back at any given chance.

It’s a Herbivore’s review of a Carnivores restaurant. 😅 This place deserves a 5 star. I am giving 4 stars as I didn’t try the meat myself and couldn’t be the part of the complete experience. Everyone I was with who had the food absolutely loved it. Live dance and music for entertainment, very friendly staff, delicious cocktails, and to top it all a tasty Herbivores menu for people like me who is accompanying meat lovers. Had a great time there. Definitely a very unique experience.

Dont get me wrong, their food is delicious. But first of all it isnt a buffet despite the fact I called to ask; its an all you can eat only. Its amazing food, but not buffet. Secondly, the pricing is inappropriately high. You pay less in Europe and its clearly trying to exploit tourist money. It is simply to expensive for what you get; the meat is unlimited but the salads are not and neither is the desert. And I did ask. Now if you were to ignore the inappropriate pricing its certainly a great experience: Most waiters are friendly but some have to explained the sauces to me even though I was promised that. The already high price doesnt include drinks either. On the positive side its the best meat Ive eaten in Nairobi and I dine everywhere. Congratulations. Ostrich is great and special. The beef is superior quality. Unfortunately I have been served cold ostrich meat balls, but only once. In this price range thats unacceptable.They also serve very small pieces of meat so I basically had to force them to cut more. They did but is was slightly annoying. They should ask how much I want. The desert was tasty but too small and they refused to give me more. The salads were all great and some were exotic and special. Overall with drinks you spend at least 5000ksh per person, so 10k for 2. I repeat, this is too high despite the great food and service. Maybe Ill come back but for now these are my improvement suggestions. For this type of restaurant youll need to do better.

Twas an awesome of an experience. Splendid, tranquil and Serene. Id never tested crocodile meat😋 and Ostrich. Twas an adventure for me and i like the services but people should be allowed to pack their food. You cant be that much and still be denied the chance of carrying your bal😒

Superb place to be for a meat galore buffet experience! Staffs were really friendly and nice. They explain to you which dip to use for the meat carvings or portions they serve you.For desserts u can choose one of it from the menu. Meats are totally yummy! Love the roasted beef the best. Highly recommended!

Amazing food, great selection!Love that when bringing out food the servers advise which salsa/sauce to pair it with.Must start with a Dawa, the signature cocktail which was invented here and is now popular across the country!

Food is fantastic. For those that wont do meat they do offer fish. Their menu switches up so whats on offer each day varies. But the exotic meat is lovely as is the non exotic. Service is fantastic and highly recommended the Dawa.

Great dining experience. Very similar to the Brazilian BBQ style of dining.We had an opportunity to try Ox, Ostrich, and Alligator.

Best restaurant experience so far. There are cats in the dining area though, so if you are allergic its best to avoid altogether.

Really good experience eating here as a treat. The food is good and you can get to try crocodile, ostrich and oxe balls. The atmosphere from the staff and the layout of the place make it special. We only went in the late afternoon, but there was still a good atmosphere about the place - I expect in the evening it would be really great.

I attended the cake festival. Had lots of fun and enjoyed tons of cakes. The grounds were great, they provided seats and shades as much as possible. The best cake for me was the carnivore cake purple velvet because of the cream, then edible arts had awesome mousse cake and served generous portions. Cake city served generous portions of yummy Choco chip cake. The other vendors served very small pieces some were even sharing crumbs. The pics I have shared are the mousse cake from edible arts. definitely worth your time.

Nice evening here to relax with family and friends and to have a bite of beef, pork, goat meat, chicken, crocodile meat and Ostrich meat...served with different sauces and salad... eat until you are full...

We enjoyed our beast of a feast lunch. UT included Ostrich, crocodile and ox balls. Delicious!!. My little ones enjoyed the outside eating area that has a playground. The entire family had fun!!

The experience of this restaurant didnt live up to its reputation. Interesting decor but eating here was not a pleasant experience.

The restaurant is amazing and the wait staff always ready to helpThe meals are amazing . They gave a fixed menu of the day which have a variety. They start with soup of the day, meat of all kind including ostrich and crocodile. You eat as much as you can until you surrender and put the flag down. James, a wait staff was really helpful and organized a surprise for my friend who had a birthday. Would highly recommend and definitely go back again. Did I mention they have a variety of drinks and good in cocktail? Dont forget to have the old fashion cocktail 🍸🍹

Ive enjoyed an assortment of exquisite roast meat and original dawa (ask for the signature original recipe). I highly recommend this menu. Excellent dining service.

This restaurant is a very nice place to spend time in. Perfect for dining either with your significant other, family, colleagues or friends. Meat is tasty. I actually tasted quite a number of meats I had never tasted before. It is a great experience to have and share. Besides, they offer buffets at a set price and will keep bringing you food around until you tell them not to. Waiters are caring. I highly recommend.

This place was fun and inviting from the moment we stepped out of the Uber. We were greeted with such excitement and enthusiasm. Walking into the restaurant we felt safe as the staff was covid aware by taking temperature and providing hand sanitizer to all. When entering the ambiance, staff energy and overall environment was unforgettable. From the beautiful outdoor dining and monkey sighting. Additionally as someone who follows a gluten free diet I felt heard and accommodated by Evans Kyalo. He spoke to me directly and checked in periodically. Thank you, Kyalo! I thoroughly recommend this restaurant, the food and the overall experience!

Was there for lunch on 26th of December, the menu was greatly reduced but the service was friendly and fast and the pepper steak was delicious

You have to absolutely carnivorous to visit! It is all about meat! My only reason for not giving full 5 is that I expected to see crocodile or a bit of seafood when I visited

Have been here on many visits to Nairobi. This time the experience was nothing different. The staff are attentive. The place needs an update. The food was bland. Nothing like ages ago. There are much better places in Nairobi now.

The place is not suitable for vegetarians, only for meat lovers.. Although I m addicted to meat, I dont wanna see meat for a few weeks :). All types of meat r in here, crocodile, pork, lamb, turkey, chicken...Good servise 👍Good ambiance 👍Good music 👍

Good ambiance. They have variety of grilled meat (nyama chomacrocodile, ostrich, beef, pork, chicken, turkey.Its a beautiful chill place especially on a Friday evening when you want to welcome the weekend. Dont worry about the meat just wash it down with their special dawa ( mixture of vodka, lemon, honeyit works really well.

Its a must visit place for anyone visiting Kenya. Best place to have exotic meat like crocodile, ostrich.... they have a wide section of nyama choma. The ambiance is relaxing and the staff are friendly. The menu has changed and I miss their fried Ugali :(

Super awesome place, delicious meals especially the meat platter n the crunchy prawns. Kids are not left out they have great meal selection n outdoor games.
