The Zoo - Park and Garden in Al Ḩawāmidīyah, Egypt
It was actually much better than I expected, also if you want a special petting zoo go to the "jungle zoo", it 20LE per person and very nice for the kids to pet some alpacas and other animals.
This zoo need a lot and a lot of improvements, it’s very huge in space and they have a very rare plants that needs attention and the animals needed to be treated better than that, also they need to get a new animals and it’s fine if they raise the entrance tickets to get money for improvements also they needs a good marketing. This place needs attention
Zayed Heights is the most beautiful place in Sheikh Zayed
Visited many times. Very large area, perfect to have a walk. Quiet and beautiful, I enjoy the pastime there, not to see animals. The whole site is separated from the noise of vehicles, a completely green and relaxing environment.
Dirty, unhygienic with garbage all over the ground and in the animal enclosures. Animals kept in poor conditions, mistreated, beaten and yelled at. People are allowed to feed the animals and so end up giving them all sorts of unhealthy stuff that is harmful to their digestive systems. The staff have taught a monkey to drink black tea and smoke cigarettes, and they think its funny. It amuses visitors, who are mostly just as idiotic - the uneducated, mostly unemployed masses of Egypt. This place should be shut down. It is in violation of so many animal rights legislation that it is ridiculous no one has done anything or said anything about this.I invite any western media to send someone undercover for a look see.Horrible experience
A nice place to have fun with family and friends, but dont expect much. Most of the animals are in a bad shape, unfortunately. Which will make you feel depressed more than joyful.Very little maintenance is going on, you can tell.
Not clean at all but good place to spend time with family and friends in heart of Cairo. Tickets on Tuesdays are 65 le and 5 le the rest of the week
Child-friendly, educative but a little bit busy during holidays
Amazing historical atmosphere; it needs some Investement to be developed; staff attitude needs to be changed from looking to the visitors pockets; some arrangements and Egypt would have the best Zoo in the world. As an example; the Jungle Safari Park inside was the best experience for the child; we paid 4 times the main ticket price but we enjoyed it.To Egypt government: PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT GIZA ZOO PLEEEEEEASE.
Almost no animals, most popular animals are not there. cages are empty
Good but need more
Thats great 😍😍And the place is really spacious and full of animals 💓💓 , put the smell in some places unpopular . 🙂
It was an amazing experience, I enjoyed playing with the animals, and its really cheap.
Very nice place but the issue from the staff that try to manipulate the forigen people by any way
Amazing experience with the family.. Havent been there since childhood! The place needs more restaurants with reasonable prices and small rides with shade for rent to allow parents pushing their little ones
Not bad place you can enjoy with your time but you must go early in the weekend
Zoo place very good to visiting funny place specially to children
The lions and tigers condition is APPALING! 😞😞 Dirty tiny dark cages, they see no sun, they dont play or run They have no space to even walk!!!! The animals are depressed and show self-harming behaviour from anxiety, they keep hitting their head in the cage and are injured deeply 😥😥😥
Really good experience ... But photographers needs more space 😓
A good place is very large. There is a good number of animals. The entrance price is often 5 EGP, but there are other fees when entering private places to enjoy, ranging from 10 to 25 EGP.
Beautiful zoo in general and the ficus trees are really old ones, different animal and birds in addition to cobras and crocodiles, but the zoo need to be clean and to be organized
An awesome place but needs lots of improvement
Its a great place for you and your family and lovely area for your kids, but if you have breathing issues DONT risk your life entering lions place its super stinky along with other animals it seems that they never clean it up, also there is a lot of animals missing so dont set high expectations.Overall its cool to go there sometimes with your family and have good time 💓.
Entrance fees is 5 Egyptian pound, children under 3 is free. Some areas inside the zoo you have to pay extra ticket for it for example the animal museum and the old historical place from king time.Inside the zoo while you are watching the animals you have to have plenty of egyptian pounds in small values, if you want to feed the animals you have to tip the guards usually with 5 to 10 egyptian pounds. After you tip them they will call the animal by their name and you feed it while taking a photo. The zoo is very large you will need minimum of 6 hours inside. There are loads of rare animals and plants. The zoo is not clean, if you need to use a rest room you will suffer as it is very unclean, also prayer area is very dirty. You can find few shops for beverages.Generally the zoo is nice place to have fun especially for kids, golden rule to enjoy, pay the guards tips they will take care for you and your kid ( you will feed animals and take pictures with them too .
For animal lovers this is one of the worst places ever were the supervisors of the animals are not treating them very well Nd not feeding them well..alot of noise comes aout from the shops speakers around. The only good thing at that place was the stuffed animals museum.
Way better than I anticipated. The lions and bears definitely need a bigger spot and they should definitely feed the animals more as they do tease them so people can pay to feed them but the place is clean inside and quite big. Only £1 entry which is complete madness.
It needs a lot of renovationsThis zoo considered a historical place and a vital picnic to the Egyptian families.A lot of barns are empty because the animals died and the management didn’t bring replacements. But at the end i consider it as one of my favorite places because i had a good memories from my childhood
The zoo was built by Khedive Ismail and opened on 1 March 1891. It was built on about (21 hectares (52 acres)).Cheap tickets to visit. It is a nice place in Cairo/Giza to visit and enjoy seeing old trees and animals and breath good air.
Good for a picnic..Recommended for kidsI hope it would get much more attention for animal care / services
It needs total renovation. The workers there are mostly unbearable, because they keep asking for tips. The petting zoo is nice (for an extra 20 pounds for each kid). The only good thing is that there is a big variety of animals. There is no elephant though.
There are many updates and variety of animals, the only missing now is the elephantBad smelling and lack of hygiene conditions for animals especially in small cages (Racoon - Wolf - Dogs - etc..)Allowing you to get photos with baby lionsWorst public restroomsDirection signs are available but youll always be lost, it will be amazing if they provided a mobile application to facilitate this or qr code to scan then you go to dynamic map like Cairo festival city
The most famous zoo in the Middle East. Its over 100 years old. Some trees are 120 years old...worth seeing and having photos with.Unfortunately many animals are as old too. It needs a lot of restoration and much more effort to keep it as before.Avoid the heat and preferably go during spring or early winter time.Be vigilant for Biggers and pocket lifters...specially your mobile phone....an easy target to steal. You might prefer to hire a professional photographer and they are many. They can get you wonderful pictures with the lions and snakes.Take a Taxi...parking is a challenge. If you go in winter...go in Tuesdays...the ticket price is deliberately high to make the zoo available for tourists...as it is extremely crowded otherwise.
Large space with good view of nature, that was my first time to go there, we enjoyed feeding animals specially in the private area where we played directly with animalsVery cheap tickets only 5 LE and 20 LE for the private part.but the place needs only some more cleanliness
The zoo is huge so you want to be ready to walk (with a hat and sunglasses!), and better if you picked a good weather day!It has different animals, from different species, but alot of them lack the sufficient care. The zoo itself has a good scenary and there is many spots to sit and chill among the trees (you can prepare your meal from home and enjoy it here).Overall its a good place for kids, with beautiful walks but not sure Im satisfied with the animal-part experience. (some of the working staff are a little annoying by pushing you to tip them when you get closer to see the animals)If you are interested, theres a zoology museum attached to the zoo that I see people keep recommending ( I couldnt visit it as I was short on time ).The entrance fees are 5 EGP for Egyptians and 20 for international visitors. The zoology museum fees are 10 EGP.
It was from the best zoos in Middle East , but sadly it became bad lately because of the people and the non renewal places , its soo big but its not clean and there are lots of animals that are dead unfortunately , I wanted to see the elephant but the cage was empty and I discovered from the guard that it was dead :(
Giza zoo is a must go place not for the animals, as they in a wretched situation, and most of them disappeared, but the zoo is a real hidden gem in architecture and old rare trees as it is considered one of the oldest zoo gardens in the world one of the most beautiful bridges is there, the hanging bridge designed by the famous Gustav Eiffel
Accidentally paid my way in here, thinking I was going into the gardens. A first disappointment, I continued in. I usually dont go to zoos. So it is a treat. A lot of deer and lions and pink pelicans. Some hippos and a leopard. A theme park in the middle! Some refreshments and lots of families playing and having fun. Dirty and kind of sad with lack of green pastures, while having dusty paths. If you have a family here, this is a good spot. Otherwise its okay.
I wished it would be better, i went there 20 years ago and it was MARVELLOUS!it used to have many healthy clean animals, now they have less..the African elephant is absent , couldnt see the zebra.I went on the "expensive" day on tuesday where the ticket is 65 pounds a person unlike normal 5 pounds a day. But it was like a private tour.
Nice place to let your kinds see and react to the animals they are watching through mobile or TV , they will love it and they will enjoy feeding those animals by themselves ( where feeding animals is allowed and coat only 1 LE ).The is a little bit messy , needs more directions sign. You can park outside the zoo for a 20 LE ticket for the whole day , its easy to park at El Gam3a street better than Mourad street. So the zoo itself deserves 2 starts but while I was moving on I have found a treasure lol this treasure called zoology museum , this place is amazing and I would like to rate the zoo by 3 starts just for itInside the zoo there is a place called zoology museum , it feels like you are inside a scene from " night at the museum " , it contains a lot of amazing things , you can take a photos as long as you want , the place is very clean and tidy , the A.C working so during summer you will enjoy it , it costs only 10 LE / ticket.
Very very good experience , the zoo gave alot of animals from all over the world , the animals looks amazing from near and you can feed some , I took my family ams spent amazing day , the price os little higher than outside but it still not that high , recommend to have an umbrella or hat as the sun is strong even in winter
Very good and huge zoo , prepare yourself with luttece , carrot and Banana... There is a new area inside with a separate ticket in which animals are free to play with and to feed and take pics easily 😊
The zoo is totally neglected , The zoo staff are unfriendly & you can notice that they dont feed the animals unless payed by the visitors to do so , The animals are suffering lack of nutrition & care + not having the proper environment , many cages are just empty & this makes sense as many animals died in the last period as the elephant for example ,But the zoological museum was renewed recently & it deserves a visit because its unique & well preserved .
The zoo is good its an amazing historic place with a good variety of animals it was quite when I visited not crowded at all although reviews say it is crowded however what Ive actually found fascinating in this zoo is a garden inside of it it has a special entrance with a different ticket than the one you get on the gate, this place is the most beautiful place Ive personally ever visited its heaven on earth it was empty no body was in there and it was full of greenery, it had trees of all kinds, caves, bridges and more, it had what looked like a cave made out of stones that had some sort of design carved on them but when I asked it turned out to be made of corals that were brought from the red sea in the 19th century it is absolutely fascinating (i will include pictures of the corals Ive posted pictures of the park it self separatelyother than that the zoo Is good a shop every couple of meters and they allow you to feed most of the animals which is good.So in conclusion the zoo is historic and beautiful and I definitely recommend it.
Have a good history and the children will enjoy
It needs More Care of Animals , also it needs maintenance and cleaning , But as A total its a good Day and I enjoyed my time there , Also the kids Enjoyed .
Very Nice place, i always feel relax there
Nice place to spend a time there specialy when its not crowded, dont forget to take a picture with the baby lion he was so adorable!! 🌸💖
Place is good but needs more care from Government
